Saranac Pub Syracuse Reviews
I was here for a convention We overloaded the staff on a Saturday at 1130- they had no idea we were all coming 2 front staff only Those girls worked their asses off!! Food was amazing!!! Drinks were perfect!! Definitely coming back!!! 11/15/25
Tabitha absolutely crushed it at Shaughnessy! 🙌 Super friendly, fun, and on top of everything — she made the whole experience a blast. If every visit was like this, I’d be here every week! Give that girl a raise
The wings were great. For the environment it's a little more pricey then it's worth tbh . Irish sports bar charging average $18 for things everywhere else is charging way less for and just as good. So if I had to complain about something it's the price for average pub food. I mean $18 for average burger is excessive when you can go to a place like blarney stone and spend half that and get better food. On the other hand it is a hotel pub . Wings were good and big so for $18 for that much food isn't terrible. Just know if you walk in as a couple your spending about a $100. Again the wings were great. The bartenders was very friendly and kind that kinda makes up for alot as well. and it is wheel chair friendly, and also has one of my favorite coffee places in Syracuse next door cafe kubal. So it's a one stop shop too. That's something else to consider.
Good clean pub, friendly staff with shockingly fresh delicious food. Sound too good to be true?!? Well, it’s true! Try it for yourself. Pleasant pub atmosphere where the game is always on and the jams pump out of the speakers at just the right volume to be able to hold a conversation. And thank YOU management for being open on Sundays. Most business leave us lonely travelers to starve in downtown areas on Sundays. But here you are serving up good times!
Modern pub in historic hotel. This pub has good food, great food and drink specials, and a good selection of beers and wines. It's spacious, but set up so that there are plenty of private spaces. You could have fun with a large group here or have a quiet conversation with just one other person. It's on street level so you feel like you're connected to city life. People from the Tech Garden across the street hangout here, which gives it a bit of a cutting edge vibe. It also has some cool Syracuse sports memorabilia on display.
I went on a slower night so low staff but I was checked on semi-frequently. Food was great, drinks were more expensive than you would think for a place like this but overall good good experience. Music wasn't loud and the bar has every sport on you could want.
Fish and chips were a large portion. Lots of fries. Cole slaw was good. Fish was good.
We're gonna play a little game called The Good The Bad and The Ugly The Good: • Conveniently located near the Syracuse Centro hub • Irish cannon balls are exquisitely crisp and explode with Reubenesque flavor • Nachos come with firm sturdy chips, multiple layers of shredded Colby and a hearty queso. Black beans should be featured on more nacho platters more often • Deliciously crisp thick slices of toast hold together a fine turkey club The Bad: • Limited "Event Night" menu meant that all the items I had looked forward to ahead of time were nowhere to be found. I get it, and the backup options were good, but disappointing nonetheless. • The "pico" promised for the nachos were diced tomato and onion, no cilantro or vinegar to tie it all together. The Ugly: • The chicken caprese sandwich came with one sad little slice of tomato and the "fresh mozzarella" tasted like your typical pizza cheese. Chicken was ok but a bit dry and bland. Basil mayo was the star of this part of the show Overall more good than bad. Would likely return for the full menu another time.
Love the fact that these guys stayed open on New Year’s Day for those of us staying in the Marriott and having to work early it was very convenient. Food was nice and warm, it was quiet, yet very polite and attentive service from the staff. Definitely recommend this place to grab some good food and watch a little football. They even had premier league going on. Got to have that an Irish pub!!
I met up with friends for a pre show beverage they had already been served burger with fries beers and had ordered me one as well. Lively Irish Pub atmosphere. I was never acknowledged by bar tender or any staff. Not offered a menu or refills. Staff had to be flagged down for the bill and cleanup of dishes that were on the bar the entire visit. The sandwiches being served looked like good portions, I would definitely like to try the Reuben and see what is offered on the menu! My friend said the burger was good but fries were served cold. Better luck next time! "Go n-éirí leat"
Servers meed training about what items to bring with orders chicken wings should have blue cheese offered or customer be asked if want customers should not have to tell server to get celery, blue cheese or butter. If customer asks for butter maybe heat up a little. I love shaunessys Irish pub and eat there often and recommend often.I will try again.
The food was mostly fine but I would not recommend the wings as they barely had any sauce. The service wasn’t great. When our server brought us plates for the apps the plates were dirty - gross! She didn’t even blink when I asked for new plates. So I would not recommend going here to a friend.
Terrible service. Waited 40+ minutes and never even got asked what we wanted to drink. One server on a convention weekend. Left and won’t go back.
Was staying at the hotel and figured I would give it a shot. I like Irish Pubs. I ordered the fish and chips during a Monday Night Football game. The food came out cold. There were three tiny heavily breaded pieces of fish. Seems frozen to me. Barely any fish and way overcooked. Based on the portion size. It should be called chips and fish. Would not recommend. The staff was very nice, but never once asked me how the food was. Disappointed to say the least.
Terrible service- I understand being unexpectedly busy after an event, but the female bartender was especially rude. After waiting for 15 minutes and her passing by me numerous times, I went to the other end of the bar she was frequenting. At this point it had been nearly 30 minutes and the bar is getting busier. She served the person to my left and then went immediately to the couple to my right. I said excuse me I have been here a while- to which she told me she is working her way down the line. I calmly pointed out that I had been waiting and moved to get served after I got passed by in the middle of the bar. She raised her voice, dismissed me, and moved on. I guess it doesn’t matter how long you have been there and wait if someone happens to snag a seat as soon as they come in at the right spot in her service.
Please do not bother to even try Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, sort of busy, but a few sports at the bar. Sat down at two with my partner and.... I've never had such bad service. The bartender (older lady with long black hair) proceeded to walk past us SEVEN (7!!!!) times without even saying hello. In fact, most of the times went out of her way to not even look at us. Went back and forth asking people she was very friendly with. Watched her go to EVERY person at the bar without even acknowledging us.
The food was mediocre at best and priced far above its worth. Only good thing we got was the mac and cheese. Portion sizes vs price seems like a significant mismatch. Service was so slow. Over 20 min for a beer and a coffee cocktail. The server seemed inattentive and moving in slow motion. The appetizer loaded fries was in all reality a single serving, not shareable and not with the $9. The only thing Irish about this place is the name. Save your money and don’t go to this hotel bar. You would almost be better off going to Applebees.
