I had a fantastic experience at this Iberian restaurant. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of character. The food was absolutely delicious — beautifully presented, full of rich flavours, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and true to Iberian cuisine. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making great recommendations and ensuring everything was perfect throughout the meal. It’s the kind of place where you can really relax and enjoy great food, great service, and a lovely ambience. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates authentic Iberian flavours.
The staff were attentive, charming, and genuinely helpful with recommendations, making us feel very welcome. We ordered a selection of tapas to share, a main course, and two gorgeous desserts—everything was delicious. The cocktails were too tempting to pass up! I considered trying the wine pairings with our dishes but ended up sticking with the cocktails, which didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere was lovely, with a table offering a great view and the sound of a live band drifting up from below—such a nice touch. Thank you to the team at Joia for a truly pleasant experience!
We had a lovely visit to this restaurant! Must say that to get there it was a bit confusing due to the lifts system within the hotel. We had to find staff to allow us to get up there as we were pressing the buttons and it didn’t seem like it was working. But maybe it was just a “us” thing! We arrived at the restaurant and we were greeted warmly by the staff and the atmosphere was brilliant. Service was flawless and the food was excellent. Must say that I drank London Essence for the first time (White peach & jasmine flavour) and this is now my favourite drink ever! Additionally, this was a meal out to celebrate my partner’s birthday and according to my note left on the booking form, they presented him a cake at the end with a happy birthday note. Really thoughtful gesture and the cake was brilliant. Definitely coming back.
Me and my wife had a lovely night in Joia, we had a nice welcome and were seated in a cute little table with the most spectacular view, our server for the night was Lobato. We could not have had a better staff member take care of us, he was swift, professional and knowledgeable about all aspects of service. The food was of a high quality and brought out on time, Lobato was ever present in serving our drinks and food, shout out to him for making this a great night.
Visited Joia this Saturday early evening when the sun was beaming and it was a beautiful day. The staff were very attentive and charming when serving and recommendations and really friendly and helpful. We got a few sharing tapas dishes, a main and two gorgeous desserts to share. Cocktails were too good to turn down. I was tempted to try some of the pairing wines with the dishes, but opted for the cocktails instead. Lovely atmosphere and table with a view and the sound of the live band from below. We visited the rooftop bar after, (which closes at 10pm) but it got a bit chilly. Thank you for a pleasant evening.
I’ve been there on the New Year’s party and the vibe was amazing! Really love the venue - you have a great view from there. The costumes and the dancers were stunning! Loved the DJ&sax combo, and the guy on the drums was super fun:) We also had a rooftop access to see the fireworks, and the service was top tier - soft throws, hot water bottles, hand warmers - as a girl wearing a dress during the wind I really appreciated it! 💕 And the bar staff did an amazing job to make sure everyone has champagne before the 12:00!!! There was also 2 free drinks and finger food available - food was amazing as always, love their restaurant as my go to. Thank you for an amazing night!
Really enjoyed our dinner in JOIA. Every dish we ordered was excellent: bacalhau a braz, pica pau, croquettes, pluma ibérica, tortilla with ham seabass ceviche and the aubergine. They were all very tasty! The views if you are seated by the window is stunning. Our waitor was not really nice, but I am sure it was a one-off. Really recommended and will be back.
The food and interior were absolutely stunning! The view overlooking Battersea was breathtaking. We had a champagne afternoon tea, and Sreekanth was our host. His hospitality was exceptional. You can order extra sandwiches included in the price. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The food was also very well-prepared, and the price-to-quality ratio was definitely excellent. Must Do in London!
We went to JOIA earlier this month to celebrate my birthday and left feeling completely blown away — mostly thanks to the incredible work of Cristian, the Head Chef. It’s hard to describe the feeling when you can taste someone’s passion in the food. Cristian’s dishes aren’t just delicious — they’re thoughtful, personal, and full of intention. Even a dish like Pica Pau, which could easily be a casual Portuguese comfort food, was so perfect that I know it was the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve tried a lot!). There’s real soul in Cristian’s cooking. You can tell he’s not just running a kitchen — he’s setting the tone for the entire experience, and it shows. The rest of the team was amazing too. David, the Head Sommelier, made the evening even better with his wine pairings and easygoing charm. Pierro looked after us on the rooftop afterward and made sure the celebration kept flowing. It was definitely an unforgettable evening. If you get the chance to eat at JOIA — do it! Incredible views and delicious food made with love! THANK YOU to the whole team for making my birthday celebration so special. We will definitely be back!
We had an amazing experience at JOIA thanks to Christian! The sea bass and the lamb shank were absolutely outstanding, perfectly prepared and full of flavour. The service was exceptional from start to finish, attentive without being intrusive. Everything about the evening felt special. We will definitely be back!
The service and the food is phenomenal. Not to mention it’s a great view. There was a bit of a glitch at the beginning, but they made up for it with their attentiveness and fabulous food. We booked at 2pm on a Saturday for a friends birthday, group of 8. Upon arrival they notified us that the kitchen closed at 2:15. We had to order immediately, which is not ideal when you’re there for a celebration, but in the end the food and service made up for it. Our waiter was so attentive and he made great suggestions and recommendations. I would suggest that next time they email ahead to let us know that kitchen closes, we probably would’ve booked an earlier table or pre-ordered. Another minor detail is that the extractor doesn’t work very well so it can get quite smoky, especially as we were seated right next to the kitchen.
We had a fantastic experience at JOIA in Battersea. The setting is stunning, with beautiful views over Battersea Power Station and a stylish, relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Service was a highlight and made the night feel genuinely special. A big shout out to Ramala, who looked after us so well – friendly, attentive, and professional throughout. Pricey but highly recommended.
Went here on a Saturday afternoon in November. It was raining but the views are pretty cool. I had a view partly of Battersea Power station and the train lines. Service was amazing throughout by Steven. Had the set menu and wine pairings. The standout dishes for me were the ceviche and the ham, the beef and the mousse. The mousse was insanely good. Possibly the best I’ve ever had. It was rich but light. Never before done so well. The olive oil caviar worked well for me too. Sensational dish. It’s pricey but for its location, view, service and food it’s worth it.
We went to Joia to celebrate my birthday in September, and it was fantastic from start to finish. The atmosphere, the food, and the service were all top-notch, but what truly made our evening unforgettable was Steven. He was an absolute superstar. From the moment we arrived, he looked after us with genuine warmth, attention to detail, and perfect timing throughout the meal. His recommendations were spot on, and he made us feel truly special on our celebration. Huge thanks to Steven and the whole Joia team, we can’t wait to come back!
Came to Joia in Battersea as a surprise birthday treat and it was absolutely unforgettable. The restaurant is located inside the beautiful art’otel London Battersea Power Station — you take a stunning elevator ride up to Joia, and from the moment you arrive you’re met with gorgeous interiors and breathtaking views over London. The atmosphere is very sultry, intimate, and stylish, perfect for a special occasion 🌆✨ Our host was incredibly attentive and kind, and truly went above and beyond — he even brought me a second sparkler so I could retake my birthday photos, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch 🎉📸 The starters were delicious, but the mains truly stole the show. We shared the lamb shank, which was absolutely incredible — one is easily enough for two and very generous. The spicy green beans and their famous patatas bravas were packed with flavour and complemented the dish perfectly 🔥🥔 I can’t wait to return to try their ceviche and fresh seafood, which looked amazing. The setting feels very romantic and intimate, ideal for celebrations or date nights 💫 We also stopped by Perola, the bar downstairs, which was just as stunning — a perfect place for pre- or post-dinner drinks 🍸 A truly memorable experience and one I’ll definitely be coming back to.
I recently went to celebrate my birthday with my mum, and it turned out to be an absolutely wonderful experience — all thanks to Chef Tony! He went above and beyond to make our celebration truly special, surprising us in the best way possible. The food was not only beautifully presented but also incredibly delicious — every dish was full of flavor and prepared with such care and creativity. Chef Tony’s warm personality and attention to detail made us feel so welcome and valued. It’s rare to meet someone so passionate about what they do, and it really showed in both the service and the food. Thank you, Chef Tony, for making my birthday so memorable. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending your restaurant to everyone!
JOIA Restaurant, Bar & Rooftop is absolutely wow! I rang in 2025 there with my friend Derlis and honestly it was unforgettable. The rooftop views are insane, the vibe is super cozy and chic and the staff are total pros, friendly and on point. The food is delicious and served like a dream. Perfect spot for a celebration or just an epic night out.
Went to this restaurant with my girlfriends on a Friday evening. Upstairs is a rooftop bar with a great atmosphere and a wide selection of drinks. The food and drinks are on the pricier side, but the ambiance makes up for it. The cuisine is a fusion of Portuguese and Spanish flavors. We ordered a variety of dishes to try — the food was flavorful and satisfying, especially for someone trying Portuguese cuisine for the first time. The service was also very good.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Joia, and it was a truly lovely experience. The food was amazing, with authentic Portuguese flavors and a stunning view of Battersea Park and the Power Station. We highly recommend the octopus—it's fantastic! We tried the Chef's Menu, and it was a great way to enjoy a variety of dishes. It was also a pleasure meeting Chef Rafa. We’ll definitely be coming back!
We had the pleasure of dining at JOIA, located on the 16th floor of the art’otel, London Battersea Power Station. The experience began with the stunning ground-floor art gallery lounge, which set the tone perfectly before we made our way up to the restaurant via the lift. The restaurant itself was cosy and intimate, offering breathtaking views of the iconic Battersea Power Station. The menu featured a delightful blend of Spanish and Portuguese flavours, complemented by an impressive wine list that included selections from some of our favourite wine towns in Portugal—a detail that truly made my evening. A special shoutout to our waiter, who, despite being new (only five days on the job!), was incredibly attentive and made us feel so welcome. The bar, located one floor below the restaurant, offered a more relaxed vibe with equally stunning views—perfect for a post-dinner drink. We’re already looking forward to coming back during the day to fully enjoy the views and perhaps try their afternoon tea. JOIA is a must-visit for anyone seeking great food, beautiful surroundings, and exceptional service!
What a lovely experience at JOIA. I went with my mum and sister and we all enjoyed our time. The food was simply delicious and tasty. A huge thank-you to Adam who's service and care was amazing and helpful. He recommended the best dishes and desserts which we enjoyed and overall made the experience fun. The only thing to nip-pick we booked our lunch for 2pm on Saturday. We were told when we walked in the restaurant, the kitchen closes at 2:15 had to order our food quickly. Felt a little rushed and would have been better if we were notified or if this was advertised during the booking. Other than that, the view is beautiful and the service from the team is attentive and friendly. Highly recommend 😊
I have to say that I did have better vegetarian mushroom dishes than here, also the Spanish inspired bravas lacked something too. That’s why it gets a 3 star for food. The waiter was super nice, I think he was called Xavier! The cocktail which had gin, lychee, and rose was amazing. It looked so elegant and smelled so delicious. 🤤 Truly something different, so i would most likely come back for cocktails here only. 😎🙂
Lovely view to the Battersea Power Station and the vicinity. Happy to be seated close to the window on Monday evening as a walk-in customer. Entrance via Artotel had a playful vibe to the 15th floor. Food was not the typical menu selection as I imagined from a cocktail restaurant, but definitely better. Surprised to see some bold flavours and interesting dishes. Cocktail was not as pretty and turquoise in colour as the advertised image, slightly disappointed, but the food made up to it, I guessed. For the service, it could be understaffed at the moment and had to wait for food or to pay, etc. But I wasn't in a hurry and I got a view to look at, so everything worked out fine.
Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. The food and service are amazing here. Their beef is the most delicious one I've ever eaten in the UK. They also offered me a small Brownie cake for my birthday. Will visit again in the future💖
Had a great time at NYE. The night was Studio 54 themed, and there were loads of cool dancers who did an amazing job at setting the tone and bringing the vibes. Their outfits were spot on! I was booked as a sax player, and greeted kindly by staff, all very professional and respectful. Everyone was beautifully dressed and had good vibes. I played alongside a live percussionist Jo Pierre who was absolutely amazing. Would entirely recommend coming here. Great views of London and a great interior design imo! Rooftop bar is a must. Much love, Nat Cartier :)
6 of us had a fabulous meal for our work Christmas party. We were lucky to get a table in the window and the views did not disappoint. The food was amazing but the best part of the whole evening was our host Adam!! Cannot thank him enough for ensuring we had the best night out. The man deserves a rise!
All the staff were outstanding. Special thanks to David, the sommelier. David helped us choose a red wine the first evening and a rose the second evening. It was lovely experiencing someone passionate and knowledgeable about their work. A great experience.
Lovely experience, from the fast modern lift and beautiful pink entrance lobby, through to the fancy combined sex toilets and glass walled restaurant. The staff were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable, especially the somelier. We had the pre theatre set menu and the whole meal was delicious, highlights being the croquettes and lamb. A lovely little brownie surprise as it was our anniversary Would highly recommend and would return
JOIA Restaurant is a true gem, offering an unforgettable dining experience with breathtaking views of Battersea Power Station and beyond. Our group of five was thoroughly impressed by every aspect of our visit. From the moment we stepped into the elegantly designed space on the 15th floor of art'otel London Battersea Power Station, we were captivated by the interiors and panoramic view. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet welcoming, perfect for our special evening out. The service was impeccable throughout our meal. Our attentive and knowledgeable staff members guided us through the menu with expertise, offering thoughtful recommendations and ensuring our every need was met. Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa's culinary prowess shone through in each meticulously crafted dish. We began with an array of tantalising starters, including perfectly crisp Iberico ham croquettes and smoky grilled leeks with hazelnuts. The presentation was nothing short of artistic, with each plate a visual masterpiece. For our main courses, we sampled a variety of dishes showcasing the best of Iberian and British produce. The Seafood Cataplana was a standout, brimming with succulent clams and prawns in a fragrant stew, as was the pig cheeks. The rack of lamb, served with a rich pancetta sauce, was cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with crispy potatoes. The wine list was equally impressive, featuring an excellent selection of Portuguese and Spanish wines. Our sommelier's pairing suggestion enhanced our dining experience, complementing the flavors of each dish perfectly. Desserts were a triumphant finale to our meal. The basque cheesecake was delightfully creamy and the table favourite! Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a great meal, JOIA delivers on all fronts and we'll being going again.
After visiting several other popular afternoon tea venues throughout London over the years, I thought of giving this weekend afternoon tea a go. Really surprised at how good this place was. The flavours in the sandwiches and patisseries were really detailed and well matched, the menu descriptions don't do it justice, and the scones were served fresh, light and warm. Not to mention the great views overlooking Battersea, the River Thames and beyond. My only minor criticism was that the music was a little too loud to enjoy conversation, however we were sat right next to a speaker, and also that something this good, is only served of a weekend. Definitely worth a visit. I'll definitely be returning.
Came to Joia after reading some reviews on the social media and I have to admit that we were not disappointed. I have been to Spain and Portugal quite a few times so had some idea of the type of food to expect. Firstly, it’s on the 15 floor, so expect great views / reminds me a bit of shard views but this is 15 floor / not as high as shard. So great views: great ambiance and decor. Service was excellent too can’t complain at all. Wine recommendations were good too. As will London don’t expect it to be cheap / its central London prices as expected. We had pardon peppers and croquettes for starters which were excellent. For mains we had the fish special which was seabass / 300 gms for £50/- which sounds expensive but it was very well made and was delicious. Overall great experience/ delicious food in a fabulous setting. Meal for 2 easily £150 with 1 glass of wine Verdict 4.6/5 Btw - their basque cheesecake was delicious too For more information on more interesting/ fascinating dining experiences in London and abroad please visit my instagram page #s50ush
Magnificent service and food. The views are mesmerising. The chef and floor manager(both Cristian) were really friendly. Will come back for sure!
Superb dinner! We didn’t have a walk-in but tried to chance it. We were nicely greeted and had a drink in the new perola bar before we could get a table as we didn’t book, we tried some of their new cocktails - a golden stool and inga stone were phenomenal! After a brief time it was dinner time in JOIA restaurant, we enjoyed the chef’s menu all beautifully presented! My favourite was the Txuleton! Highly recommend, as well as the spanish tortilla! Thank you very much for Tom squeezing us in as well as Theo so really looked after us for dinner - I didn’t catch the name of our bar server but she was great! We will be back to enjoy another great night!
We had an absolutely amazing experience at JOIA! The rooftop view is breathtaking, and the atmosphere is both stylish and welcoming. The service was outstanding, the staff were friendly, attentive, and really professional. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The bar also had a great selection of cocktails. Highly recommend it for a special evening out. We’ll definitely be coming back!
We had such a lovely afternoon tea at Joia! Our Spanish server Stephen (or Steven) was incredible. He was so friendly, attentive, and really made the experience special for us. The afternoon tea was absolutely delicious, and the views were stunning. We loved that we could get refills on sandwiches, scones, and desserts. it made it feel like great value for money too. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Beautiful restaurant Not much of a view if you look down because it is train tracks. However, if you look up then it’s gorgeous specifically when the sun is setting. Service impeccable. Attention to every single detail. The food was delicious too however for me a bit too oily. The quantity served for the price is disappointing. Unfortunately they don’t have any vegan desserts.
The restaurant was bustling when we arrived on a Saturday evening but it did feel like the staff were a bit overwhelmed. The food was ok/mid. Monk fish I've tried else where tasted more fresh had a better flavour to it. The potato bravas sauce was slightly overpowering and iberica presa was different (I believe it's pork but it's safe to like this). Your mind kind of expects it to be beef but it's pork so it has a slight different texture. Overall our experience was good but was expecting a bit more.
We visited JOIA Restaurant as a group of nine. The venue and customer service were excellent definitely 5/5. The food presentation was impressive, and overall the dishes looked great. I ordered the arroz de mariscos, which I’d rate 3.5/5. I found it a little salty at first, but after squeezing the lime on it, the flavour balanced out nicely and became much more enjoyable. They also served these small potatoes that were absolutely delicious. In my experience, JOIA is a beautiful spot with top notch service, a welcoming atmosphere and lovely food. I would visit again. ❤️
Great atmosphere, good service, but slightly underwhelming food. Given the ambience, location and the hype of the place, I can say I was expecting a bit more from the menu. The view is fantastic, and staff very friendly, but food was not on par with those initial impressions. We had multiple dishes, and I found quality being lower compared to other places in London or even in Battersea area, at that price range. Dishes come with good presentations, and fair portions, but is lacking on the quality of the ingredients. Which left me with the feeling of paying overpriced food. That said, it’s a solid 4 star, very likely will come back for the cocktail bar, but not food next time.
We had an after dinner drink, wonderful atmosphere, great view of the power station from the 15th floor. The roasted almonds in olive oil- delicious!
Sold me on the bag hooks!!! Went for after-dinner drinks and was blown away by the atmosphere and location. The vibe is relaxed and chilled yet vibrant, with live music throughout the night adding a special touch. The drinks were crafted with care and tasted amazing. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, and I’d love to come back during the day to see how it feels in the daylight. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a laid-back yet lively evening experience!
I visited Joia in Battersea to celebrate my 35th birthday and, unfortunately, I left slightly disappointed. The service and atmosphere were lovely – the staff were attentive and the setting is beautiful – but the food did not quite meet expectations. Coming from a Portuguese family, we were really looking forward to enjoying authentic flavours, but sadly the dishes felt a little underwhelming. The restaurant had run out of the lamb dish, there were no Portuguese beers available, the monkfish arrived cold, and while the seafood rice was fine, it lacked the depth of flavour we’re used to. Overall, it was still a pleasant afternoon thanks to the ambience and service, but the food didn’t live up to the high standards we had hoped for.
Mixed experience celebrating my partners birthday. We have visited Joia last night and were welcomed by very warm reception and provided a table with the great view on Battersea PS. That set the perfect tone for the evening. The restaurant vibes contributed to lovely ambiance. However, the promising start took a hit the moment we started ordering. We’ve ordered a bottle of white wine but it appeared to be undrinkable(too warm) and then we were told that all sparkling and white wine are in the same malfunctioning fridge so we opted to whiskey. There was no Oban, no Nikka so we got lucky that at least Hibiki was available. We were assigned a waiter trainee with 0 wine knowledge and basic menu awareness. While he was very polite, and tried his best, the general service and professionalism no way corresponded to 15% service charge and the level of venue. To be fair it’s absolutely not what you expect from the upscale venue with the great chief. Food was nice. Seabass Crudo was terrific, Prawn Orza was a delight, octopus salad was tasty and flavorsome, it was a level above the rest of experience we had. The only let down were patatas bravas but it’s minor compared to everything else. After we finished our mains, we asked for the dessert menu. Our waiter completely lost any interest in us and switched to some other table. It took us 15 minutes to get any attention and after I pinged another waiter who took our order professionally and did all right. Fair to say the chocolate mousse was fantastic. There was no candle or anything though I told the waiter at start that my wife has a birthday that day. It was OK for us but shows how inattentive and amateurish the service was. To summarize, some things need to be fixed in the restaurant. We enjoyed our evening largely thanks to delicious food and some other staff. But general experience is severely flawed by the issues I described above.
My friend and visited For lunch. To be fair, the view of the restaurant was really nice and the service was really good as well. The staff were really helpful and caring. However, food wise, I must say This restaurant Had the worst tasting food I’ve ever tried in a restaurant in London. We ordered Iberico ham cheese, and croquettes for our appetizer. Nothing wrong with these items, but they were really basic and the presentation was not thought through. The cheese choice was somehow awful because the texture was really mushy and the flavor was not it. But that was not the worst part. We ordered their aubergine dish and it was bitter. The only flavor we could taste was bitter and it had so many seeds in it. I believe that’s the reason why it was so bitter. We also got the octopus salad. Not necessarily awful or flavorless it just did not taste nice neither my friend nor I liked it. For our main dish, we got the Bamba rice with shrimp and clams. That was the only good dish of the night and I must say it was very nice and we were so satisfied with it. For dessert, we got the basque cheesecake and crema catalana. The Basque cheesecake was salty to the point that I don’t even consider that a dessert. It was more like a savory appetizer to me. And the crema catalana Was so bitter. The burnt sugar on top combined with the orange flavor was just bitter and was not a pleasant taste. I’m not a picky eater and Besides this experience, I don’t even remember the last time I did not like a food I could literally eat anything and this was one of the only times that I genuinely did not enjoy eating the food and I would prefer not to. I also believe the chef is a Michelin star chef or at least I have heard that so that gets the hopes high as well. We told the staff we did not like the desserts and the octopus salad. We forgot to tell them we did not like the eggplant either but they kindly removed those items from the bill so I appreciate that. But genuinely from all the many items we ordered only one dish was good and the other ones were so bad we could not eat them so I would not consider this place a good restaurant and I will definitely not recommend. We left this place feeling drained because we had a bit of hope in the dessert, but that disappointed us as well so we were genuinely so disappointed and sad after we left the restaurant and we believe it was a waste of money and time.
What could have been... Beautiful setting, bar is lovely and the views are incredible. However it was a real let down. Saturday afternoon, few empty tables so certainly wasn't a busy period. We were escorted to an empty table, and that was the last we heard... We were so looking forward to the experience, I bought my Mother from Cornwall who couldn't wait to see the power station after 50 years. We sat and waited for over 25 minutes with zero engagement, we tried to get staff attention, and we're told to wait a few moments. The table of 6 next to us (that arrived after we did) then got served.. No water, no drinks, nothing. I'm all for being patient, but clearly the staff were disengaged. We upped and left, unsurprisingly, no one noticed and we escaped without an awkward conversation as to why we were leaving So much potential. I hope the staff aren't this complacent on a regular basis. The location and decor shouldn't supercede service.
