We just left and had an amazing meal as always but what made me feel the need to review was the service of our waiter, I believe he said his name was Adam - super friendly, super attentive, and lots of good energy! Awesome guy!
Only, one small complaint. The air conditioning, system drips inside. It was just surprising to have, drops of water hit you, occasionally. We were on the upper deck. But, that can be fixed. There were 3, waiters taking care of us. Great experience.
The staff here are really nice and I appreciate quality customer service. The food was ok the service was top tier. We had a big event here and they gave us the red carpet and a private room. The salad is top tier and all the fixings made my heart really happy. I some scallops and that was ok as well. The drinks were slightly watered down but when I said something it changed. They have great staff and great customer service.
Celebrated my engagement dinner this past Saturday, 20 of us total and everything was amazing. I wish I could give the service 100 stars!! Adam our waiter and everyone that helped run food did such an incredible job making the night unforgettable. So glad I chose the Barnsider to celebrate with family and friends.
Absolutely delicious food and salad bar. The wait staff is so so nice! (Ryan is our favorite waiter)!! We are always pleased whenever we eat here.
Food is pricey, but well worth it for taste and quality. Steak was tender, sliced like butter, and full of flavor. Regular Cajun Sirloin had the perfect amount of heat I've grown accustomed to with living down south for years. Nice crispy coating with perfect flavor underneath. Highly recommend for special occasions and celebrations.
5/13/25: At the last minute after a family funeral, ten friends and family showed up and were accommodated quickly. Tables were put together, and we all enjoyed the fresh salad, delicious hard cheeses, and our entrees. Our service was excellent and the setting relaxing. This was our first visit since moving away 15 years ago, and we LOVED it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Laura & Mark VanValkenburg, Myrtle Beach, SC.
Was at a recent conference for work with colleagues from all over the state. Figured we would give it a shot. Steak was cooked absolutely perfect, and tasted delicious. The sides were also spectacular. Will definitely go again when in the area!
My son and I went her Wednesday evening, we didn't have reservations but we were promptly seated. The service here is impeccable, and the food 👌. I am sure we will.be back!
Our first time at Barnsider. We went there after my cousin and his lady drove 2 hours to surprise me at a pop event I was doing! I wanted to take them to a local restaurant. I loved the rustic decor. The food was delicious and so was my pomegranate cocktail! Everyone enjoyed themselves and would definitely go back!
We haven't been there in awhile, and decided to go there for valentines day.we were greeted and seated quickly, food and atmosphere was terrific. We had a great time
Ryan is a fantastic waiter who made this an enjoyable meal! The portions were great. The staff really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We will definitely be back!
Best Place In Colonie! Very Comfortable Seating! I Had The Chicken Florentine Wrapped In A Pastry Puff Dynamite ! Salad bar was incredible!! Fresh Parmesan And Bread At Salad Bar! Don’t Forget The French Onion! Very professional and great team work! We will definitely be back on the 9th of March for my birthday!
10/10! This is our second time going to Barnsider, and both times we've had a fantastic experience! The salad bar is perfect, the food is delicious, and the wait staff / staff are always so super nice, friendly, and so accommodating. The prices are fair, the food is 10/10 and the atmosphere is so cool! Always clean. Very highly recommend!
I havent been here in about 14 years and its as good as it ever was. everything was cooked well and tasted great. always love the salad bar.
Great portion size, we got the Sirloin for two. It tasted amazing. Every bit was juicy and flavorful. The salad bar is always a classic touch to any meal there.
I’ve been coming here for over the last 20 years. All the old favorites around the menu. The atmosphere is wonderful and very cozy. And they have a salad bar. When I’m in Albany, this is where I always go.
Decided to try this place in a whim, looking for a place with good American food. Very pleased with how well this particular whim went! The food was incredible from the appetizers to the side dishes. The entrees were very well done, excellent taste, well plated. I recommend getting the freshly baked bread from the salad bar. Portions are not huge, but reasonable. Servers were very friendly, and willing to make the food whatever you wanted it to be so if something's not exactly what you want as listed on the menu I recommend asking what can be done. Between the serving staff and the kitchen, they seem very accommodating. This also seems like a very nice date spot, but definitely not a first date. It's a little pricey --although everything is worth it, your date might not be!
From the time we walked into this restaurant til the time we left, we were very impressed with the services. There were three gentlemen that served our table and they were all top-notch! Chris, who took our order, took the time to explain the specials and other items on the menu. Our dinner was very delicious. I love scallops and The Barnsider definitely outdid themselves with our meal, which I rate 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!!! And it came with a salad from their fresh salad bar that also offered a couple varieties of soft, warm breads and block cheddar cheese. We ended our feast with a serving of deep fried ice cream, which tantalized our palate! For the price we paid, we had the best time and great food with excellent service! The Barnsider gets a thumbs up and is highly recommended to go to whether for a romantic evening dinner or family gatherings. Kudos!
Hit barnsider Saturday 2/7 Great prime rib, drinks were awesome, and the tall waiter with tattoos was exceptional, attentive personal and a great attitude.. I'll go back and request his table.. Def worth a trip to go....
We shared the Seafood Appetizer for 2 and chowed down on the delicious salad bar! The wait staff were prompt and courteous! A lovely atmosphere for families and couples. I was even treated to a free brownie dessert for my birthday! Lit candle and all! Reservations are suggested..... It is a popular place, even on a Monday!
My husband and I had the most incredible birthday celebration dinner for him this past Sunday. It was a last minute decision and we had no problem making a reservation an hour before. We had been here once before several years ago and simply hadn't gotten around to coming back. I am so glad we did! Everything about our experience was warm and welcoming. As we were seated we were asked if anyone was celebrating a birthday. My husband told them he was and they noted that. Noise level in the area we were seated in (around the corner from the salad bar and up the short set of stairs) was normal, minus a couple of boys from a large party nearby. There was nothing the restaurant could have done, though, and they eventually settled down. Our waiter, Tyler, added to the warm and welcoming feeling and did an excellent job of making sure we had what we needed without encroaching. If you can, ask for him - truly did a great job! He also made sure my husband received his celebratory dessert at the end of our meal. The food was outstanding. I absolutely love a good salad bar and they are increasingly hard to find. This one was well-stocked with an assortment of options and also offered warm bread with cheese that could be cut and spread on (delicious!). Butter was on the table at room temp and easy to spread. We ordered the larger Filet with Bernaise sauce and rice pilaf and Tenderloin with Cabernet sauce and upcharged for the garlic mashed. Both steaks were cooked perfectly medium as requested. The tenderloin was the star for me as I truly loved the sauce. Rice pilaf good as well and the garlic mashed potatoes were awesome. I didn't realize the upcharge was the same as ordering it as a side; next time I would probably order rice and add it as an additional side. We ended up with two desserts - the birthday brownie sundae (soooo good, the brownie was super soft and so rich) and the fried ice cream with caramel sauce, bananas, and pecans. I have never had fried ice cream with these toppings and it was amazing! 2 huge portions but we ate almost all of them because they were just too good! Highly recommend trying this place if you haven't already. We will be back much sooner than before.
An classic restaurant that has never changed it's dedication to quality over many decades of existence. We had three Ribeyes all of which were superb and one haddock that was also superb. We had excellent team service gear desserts and a first class evening. I highly recommend you try it!
Had new year's eve dinner here. It was delicious. My filet was over cooked but still delicious. The salad bar was yummy. My love had salmon and it was cooked perfectly. Will definitely go back!!
Definitely our new favorite restaurant. The salad bar was the best I've seen. The clam chowder was amazing. The prime sirloin was probably best steak I've ever had!
Whoever was the chef that made my Cajun boneless pork chop on November 16th 2025, may your pillow be cold at night and may you hit every green light and all your dreams come true. It’s a thick cut of meat but yet so juicy and well seasoned. I heated it up this afternoon and it was still just as juicy and savory.
Wow, what a great place. Fantastic steakhouse, great salad bar bread and cheese. All included. The steak was amazing. We got a teriyaki sirloin that was very tender. Yes service was fantastic, impeccable, Adam and Chris were amazing. Talking about knowledgeable, professional, informative, some of the best we have ever had. I'll ask for them again the next time. Highly recommend this location if you want a good steak. Oh, the homemade key lime pie was a killer. A+++
We went Friday night for my husbands birthday. From the moment we walked in we enjoyed the atmosphere, the pleasant waitress, and the food. Your salad bar was fully stocked and even had 3 Bean salad which is one of my husband's favorite. My husband had a Filet Mignon and I had the baked Scallops. His Filet was delicious and cooked perfectly. My Scallops were cooked perfectly too. To top off his meal they surprised him with a Death By Chocolate dessert. ThankYou for the Great experience you made my husbands birthday special. We will definitely be back and recommend you to our friends.
Had dinner at The Barnsider on Wolf Road and really enjoyed the steak—it was cooked just right and full of flavor. The servers were friendly and made the experience great, but I did notice that when we walked in, no one at the front desk greeted us, which felt a bit off. A simple “hi” or "welcome" would’ve gone a long way. Overall, the food was solid, and service at the table was great.
This was my first time here. I loved how fresh the salad bar was - how cheesy the French Onion Soup was, how perfectly cooked the steak was when it arrived at our table. Server was great (we actually had two, both named Chris, lol) Very clean restaurant, nice wooden interior. Would go back when in the area.

Very loud people talking atmostphere was good Food was good. One of my friends meals came out burnt but the manager comp her lmeal
Old style place that had some charm but needs some updates. The staff was nice and attentive. The food was good, but it could use a touch-up. My beef wellington was under seasoned, and the demi-glaze sauce lacked salt. The bathrooms needed a deep cleaning, the men's room stunk of urine out into the hallway. My wife and I would consider going back here, but it may be a while.
Steak here is amazing. I had medium 10 oz sirloin, no frills, and it was solid. Also tried primerib, which was fatty but tasty. All the meals are cooked really well and the salad bar and bread is simple but has good quality. It caters to an older crowd but it is popular so be sure to book a table on weekends and holidays.
Good food at a good price, excellent service, generous pour, and who doesn’t love a salad bar.
2 of us seated at very small table next to a wall. There were plenty of other seats available when we got there and when we left.
Had a great Thanksgiving dinner out this year, the cook needed a break. Prime rib was very good.
Stopped in for dinner tonight, and snagged what looked like the last available table for two. The team of wait staff was incredibly attentive, and gave recommendations for drinks and for food. We started with the bacon beef wellington, which was pretty good despite the meat being a dry medium well. The sauce was delicious! I opted out of the "serve yourself" buffet style salad station after seeing several patrons touch what could have been my food with their bare hands. Unsanitary and frankly, gross. I ordered the ribeye, which was 16 oz. Sadly, about 8 of those oz were fat. The part of the ribeye that was actually edible was delightful, and the blue cheese pecan butter was great. My fiancee ordered the salmon special. She thought it was cooked perfectly, and had no complaints. "Perfectly flaky and not dry," she says. Having had a few bites, I wholeheartedly agree, and kind of regret not ordering that myself. I'd like to come back and order something different, while still avoiding the germy salad bar. Overall, a decent experience.
Great place, reminds me of old time joints with my grandparents! Front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant wasn't overly busy but we did wait sometime for water and drinks initially following that everything came out timely. Salad bar is simple but filling and the cheese is my favorite part. Yum, who does love a hunk of cheddar to gnaw on during dinner. Steaks/meat came out as offered and were hot and flavorful. Dessert was AMAZING! Didn't even have room for it but we made some and it was worth it. We've been here before and will continue to come as it was a great dining experience!
We were there for a smallish marriage dinner, approximately 35 people. Our sever was excellent. Food came out a little slow, but that could have been personal perception due to hunger.
Steak was cooked to order, service was a little slow at first but they turned it around midway and were attentive going forward. Still delivers quality results as they did 30 years ago when I was a kid.
Best salad bar around and the stuffed shrimp can't be beat. My prime rib was a good lean cut but a bit more rare than medium rare.
This evening I had the splendid opportunity to embroil myself in a fantabulous meal consisting of Beef Wellington with vegetables, bacon wrapped scallops for an appetizer, and a cappuccino with a brownie fudge sundae for dessert. Overall, the prices were reasonable and service was superb (one of the utmost substantive factors in the restaurant industry!). I look forward to dining at the Barnsider sometime soon.
This long term staple in the Colonie community is known for its salad bar. Post covid- it's still present and does not disappoint. Celebrated friend's birthday, so we splurged on dinner. Ordered fried calamari ( delivered Luke warm at best with cold marinara sauce) and scallops wrapped in bacon. Hot and delicious. Dinner: friend and I shared the Sirloin for 2 cooked MR. Delivered tepid and more on rare side. Splurged for the sautéed mushrooms- again cold- but the garlic sauce on the bottom was very good. If this was warm/ hot would have been awesome. Service was impeccable, as always- wanted for nothing- friendly, engaging- a welcome experience.
Great tried and true restaurant. The food and service is amazing. I think there is an air quality issue (mold, dirty air vents - dont look up). We have eaten here three times in the last three months and I can barely breath by the end of the meal.
We had a good experience with family and friend's. Salad bar is really worth it. Typical Wolf Road crowd - baseball hats and sweatshirts. Need to kick it up a notch and enforce a mild dress code. There are plenty of casual pubs in the area. I'm not going back to places that don't maintain standards. I won't pay those prices.
I realize going to a steakhouse and ordering a salad might not be the usual choice, but sometimes it’s the small details that make the difference. Unfortunately, my salad was a bit underwhelming—nothing particularly special about it a under dressed caeser salad The Bacon beef wellington appetizer, however, was fantastic—perfectly prepared and full of flavor. They really showed why The Barnsider has its reputation for quality steaks. Service at the bar was disappointing, especially for a Monday night with a mostly empty bar. It was slow and inattentive, which took away from what could have been a much better overall experience. All in all, great food where it counts, but the service and attention to detail could use some work.
I have a new addition to the review at the end. Used to go there more. Always went on my birthday. Not because you get your meal 1/2 price but because I find it fun to connect with others with the same birthday. The food is good but seemed to be a touch better in the past my wife thinks. A little pricey also. I like the salad bar with the cheese and fresh bread. The building was used as another restaurant years ago. It was called Victoria's Station with part of the building made from railroad cars. At least one car has been incorporated into the current building. The barnsider used to be in a mall long gone. A bit of history. The barnsider has been in business a long time. We visited again last night. They were overwhelmed. It took a long time for drinks to arrive and even longer for the entre to arrive after we finished the salad. On the plus side they did have a short beer. But took so long that I had 2. Also very pricey.

Food is good...I enjoy their Beef Wellington. Solid desert selection. salad bar is a plus but service is definitely timely. One of the better affordable spots in the capital region.

My 1st time there service was great however I ordered the Filet mignon very disappointed. It was not medium rare, very very dry and no flavor, plus had a lot of fat now thats the best cut so definitely should not have fat on it.Waitor expressed how sorry he was offered to get me something else by then it was 9:30 they close at 10th. We were already there for over a hour. My husband got prime rib he liked his. Salad bar was the best part of the meal! Again shout out to the waiter. However will not go back for the prices food should of been better!
Took over 90 minutes from order to food arrival. Nice salad bar with good bread and cheese. Entrees(sirloin and pork chops) were good aside from the time factor. Vegetables were pretty firm to our taste, but maybe just personal preference there. Staff were friendly and accommodating to the kids in our group, but bring your own activities - no crayons, puzzles, etc as you often see - and they were getting very fidgety by the time dinner showed up. Not awed by the strawberry shortcake - biscuit was on the dry side (I think they would be better off with a couple of small ones rather than one giant one) and tasted like considerable sugar added to sweeten the berries - would not order again. Room was fairly loud but we were able to converse.
Very busy waitstaff, but maintained friendly and pleasant service. Very nice to see several gluten free options. Please watch the cooking times. 3 of 4 of our party asked for medium steaks and we're served rare rare instead.
I ordered the tenderloin medallion and scallops and my husband had rack of lamb. The food was good but my baked potato was very dry and his veggies were freezer burned. We expected fresh veggies not frozen. The atmosphere is nice for a family setting or just a dinner for two. The wait staff was friendly and a very nice ambience overall!
This was our first time dining at Barnsider. The thing that truly stood out was the staff — everyone was very kind, attentive, and hardworking, especially our waiter. Great service can really make a meal more enjoyable, and that was definitely the highlight of our visit. The restaurant does have a salad bar, which is a nice feature you don’t see as often these days, especially after COVID. However, I would encourage the restaurant to restock more frequently — several items were missing during our visit (including lettuce and plates on one side of the bar). When it comes to the food itself, we felt it was just okay for the price point. We anticipated a bit more in terms of flavor and overall quality. In terms of accessibility, most of the restaurant was manageable in a wheelchair, but the restroom situation was tricky. The hallways leading to the restrooms were narrow, and none of the stalls were wide enough to comfortably fit a wheelchair without leaving the stall door open — something worth noting for future visitors. Overall, Barnsider was a decent experience thanks to the excellent staff, but the food quality and accessibility—particularly the restroom layout—left us with mixed feelings. We likely won’t be returning, but we appreciate the warm service we received.
We sat at the bar, we had as an apps the seafood for 2, wich was ok, the scallops were delicious and you can tell the freshness of the shrimps, but that was the best on that plate, we have the apps of the Wellington steak, the bits of steak was cook to perfection, but unfortunately is bland, no salt at all, and a cup of clam chowder wich for strange reasons had a strong chicken flavor maybe they use the broth to cook, and for main we split a 20oz Prime rib, once more nothing great, the au juice was really water down and lacking flavor, and the mash potatoes was awful, again no salt at all and it was like glue like consistent, so definitely not impress.
Most food here was excellent. Crab cakes were awesome. Beef Wellington was delicious. Wish I could figure out how to make mashed potatoes as fluffy as theirs. Definitely recommend the orange creamsicle martini. Wait staff were very attentive as well. It is the kind of place though where they don't rush you, but also take forever if you indicate your ready to leave. Would be 5 stars, but the rib eye was a disappointment. I ordered medium to ensure the fat was rendered properly and it came more on the well side. The outside of the steak was so charred so much all I could taste was char. I did not mention it to the wait staff, they probably would of sent it back for me with how good the service was. But as black as the steak was I don't think it should of been served. It may be a culinary choice to serve steaks charred there.

In years past this was a go-to spot for great steaks, prime cuts and appetizers. The service was and remains so, fantastic. The kitchen seems to be off their mark though. Two in our group ordered NY Sirloin, medium rare, hard sear. One came out perfect, mine unfortunately was medium well. Mistakes happen. The wait staff recognized this and immediately offered to replace. If the doneness was close, I would have let it go, but it was far past. In these uncomm situations a returned steak gets top grill person attention, but they must have been short handed. The picture is the 2nd steak which was clearly not medium rare. Kitchen staff came out to speak with me and tried to tell me it was medium rare or close. He offered to replace, but the others in my party were almost done w dinner so I said no, but thanks. He then offered to comp my entree. I said no, but thank you. They did comp my entree and I tipped 30% of what the total would have been. They did a fair job of trying to correct a mistake.
Escargot w/o garlic???? I was directed to this restaurant by the concierge desk. Looked good online….suffered terribly in person. App was less than appealing. Steak 🥩 ordered medium rare, came out med well. Decided to nix the desert. Can’t imagine it would meet its description. Expected a high end steakhouse, got a Rustler….
My fiancé and me have been going there for all our special occasions. The last two times it wasn’t worth the hype. I always order the old fashioned sirloin and he gets the prime rib. The potatoes are always cold and not enjoyable. The butter on my sirloin was cold. Waitress wasn’t attentive either we waited 20 minutes to get our check back so we could pay. This location is going down hill quick.
We visited The Barnsider for my husband's birthday dinner, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. It was our first time there, and while the food tasted okay, it was definitely overpriced for what we got. My husband's steak didn't seem fresh possibly warmed and then heated to serve. My in laws enjoyed their fish. my prime rib could have had a little more flavor as well. We did enjoy our dessert. The turtle cheesecake was good. Our server was kind and attentive, which we appreciated. However, the overall experience left us underwhelmed. The restaurant itself felt dated, and what really gave me the ick was the view of the kitchen area. It looked dirty and unorganized. I watched as potatoes were pulled from an oven barely six inches off the floor—many of the staff closed it with their foot—and then those potatoes were cut directly on the counter where other food was being plated. Staff leaned over this same area, placing their arms and hands right where these potatoes were being sliced. The sides came out of warmers using scoops that constantly hit the counter. It just didn’t feel sanitary or up to standard. All in all, it’s not a place I’d return to. Good service, but the atmosphere and cleanliness were disappointing.
The meal itself was great. My drink from the bar was horrid. The whiskey sour they made wasn't mixed right at all. I have been drinking them for more then 20 years. I told them it was horrible and to please remove it from my table. They apologized and asked.me if I would perfer something else. I asked for a cup of coffee. Needless to say turns out we were charged for both!!!! The coffee wasn't great either....not worth the $15.00 dollars I was charged. I know next time water only.. if there is a next time. That was a under handed move by the server. I didn't even make a scene just spoke quietly to the server about the issue because they had a full house..Should have known as we walked in another table was requesting to talk to management due to a poor experience with their meal!!
I really hate writing negative reviews, but for the cost of this meal, we were disappointed. For over $100 for the meal, we were upset to not be served warm bread to our table and to instead have to slice our own cold bread at the salad bar where other guests can touch it with their hands. We ordered the beef wellington appetizer, which was only 2 small pieces of beef sandwiched in puff pastry. The beef was overcooked and the appetizer did not really represent an actual beef wellington, which was very disappointing for $18. The filet was cooked well, but the vegetables and mashed potatoes were nothing special. Our waitress never came back to ask us if we needed anything or how the food tasted and it really was not busy as it was a Wednesday night. The cooks had very loud conversations and were eating and drinking with the same gloves they were cooking with. One of the waitresses went up to the counter where there was a bin of parsley and started playing with it with her bare hands. It seems like this place was once great, which is sad because we were quite disappointed and will not be returning.
Sadly after all the hype, this was a major fail. I ordered the prime rib medium rare, warm red center, came out well done totally over cooked. They offered to bring new and came back and said they were out offered rib eye. While cooked fairly close to medium rare, very tough rubbery. the side asparagus was cold and rubbery and off color, maybe microwaved.
I hadn't been to the Barnsider in some time, used to go frequently, was there for a small birthday celebration. I was disappointed to find it's not the Barnsider of old. Just as a venue it is in sore need of sprucing up - there's a difference between rustic and down in the tooth. Dishes were served inconsistently, prime rib had sat somewhere too long, was cold and not much flavor. Baked potato had obviously been "baked" (nuked?) sometime earlier in the day or the day before, was served cold. The food quality is WAY over priced for what you get. It appeared nobody really cared how my meal was put together. Just an all around bad experience.
Chowder was cold and thin. Prime rib was cold and tough. Horseradish was vinegar like and not very hot..Salad bar and baked potatoes were good. Service was excellent. Very disappointing overall for the food.
We did not have a good experience tonight. When we first sat down, the waitress spilled water on my husband‘s phone and eyeglass case. She seemed indifferent about it and didn’t even apologize. The overall dining room was extremely loud and noisy, and the waiters and waitresses were practically running around waiting on everybody. It was not a relaxing atmosphere at all. Our drinks and our appetizer came out in a timely fashion. Then we waited about 40 minutes for our meals. When we receive them, my prime rib and my husband’s Sirloin were cool to the touch. They ran out of the vegetable that was the special on the menu, which all three of us had ordered, and they did not tell us until they served our meals. Mind you we had an 530 reservation so it was not late in the evening and they were already running out of the special. After we ate our dinner, we ordered two desserts and a it took another 20 minutes to receive those. Overall, we spent $300 with tip for mediocre -poor meal. I will say after the accident with the waitress and the water we had had two different servers wait on us and they were excellent and very attentive. I don’t think I’ll go back. There’s other restaurants I can spend $300 at and have an excellent experience and a good quality meal. Matter of fact, there’s other restaurants I can have a good experience and meal at that won’t cost me $300.
Our recent visit to The Barnsider was very disappointing. We wanted to sit in the bar area, to have a drink and quick bite. We were told by a very unpleasant hostess that the bar tables are now by reservation only and no longer first come first serve. She stated there wouldn't be an open table until 7:30-8 pm. So we sat at the bar. We noticed quite a few empty tables. We asked again about a table and what if there's a no-show. We were there from 4:30pm until 8:30pm. Several bar area tables stayed empty the entire evening. It's a terrible policy and should be changed back to first come first served. The food wasn't great either and there's a terrible sewer odor when you walk in. We will not return to The Barnsider. We left very disappointed!
Came here for the first time on Valentine's day, had always heard good things and my boyfriend was really excited to try the Wellington... I ordered crab cakes for my appetizer and when they came, they visually looked cooked. However my knife would not go through them as they were completely frozen solid on the inside. I touched them with my hand and they were cold to the touch. The manager came over after I returned the plate and said they 'must not have been in the oven long enough'... Sorry, but I'll maintain those crab cakes never touched an oven. They were that frozen and chilled. $18 for two frozen crab cakes is pretty ridiculous, even if they had been warm. They offered to make me a different app, but I was a little repulsed after putting a lump of frozen crab bread into my mouth and opted to wait for my entree. When our entrees came, my boyfriend's wellington (which they said they serve 'medium rare') came completely well done... See photos. The meat was so brown-grey and dry it was falling apart. Manager apologized again and offered us free dessert and to not charge for the Wellington. I'm really not a complainer, and while I appreciate the partial comp on the meal, this was literally the worst dining experience I've ever had. And even the food that was made correctly was not that good, I think this restaurant is quite overpriced for what they're selling... The one saving grace was our amazing waiter, but I really didn't appreciate the manager explaining to me how the crab cakes must have not been cooked and how the Wellington must have gotten overcooked.. I don't care how it happened, it ruined my meal and explaining the mistakes doesn't make it any better. Won't be back again.
Wow, what happened here. Always crowded but why? Awful smell as soon as we sat down. No the food or a person. Just a lingering smell that we weren’t sure where it came from. The salad bar was fine. No change there. The steaks, dry over done and just no good. I use to like this place. Quality has gone down.

Horrible steak. Lifeless staff. A birthday celebration turned into a cheerless, tasteless encounter. The barn needs rebuilding.
I visited this restaurant for dinner tonight. I ordered the sirloin with veggies and shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. I question whethee the steak was actually a sirloin steak. I've ordered them for years and it's never looked like this. Also. The steak had no flavor at all. It was very bland. The servers were great. Unfortunately, the chatter coming from the kitchen wasn't. He continuously used profanity and even used a racial slur multiple times. At first, I thought I was hearing things. Unfortunately, he repeated it several times. Between the bland steak and the guy in the kitchen, I was over it. I asked for my check and I left. I didn't even finish my food. The salad was the best part of the night!
Was there last Saturday with a group of 7. Everyone ordered some type of steak except 2 people. My $52 t bone steak was the driest peace of meat I’ve ever experienced. I ordered it medium and it didn’t have any flavor or juice in it at all. It’s like it was sitting there before and after it was cooked. It was way past well done. The kids steak were ordered medium and came out raw - one was sent back to have it cooked more and it came back out raw again. We also ordered calamari which after eating half of the plate we noticed a black hair intertwined into them. It was sent back and they brought out a fresh one- I was told it would be removed from the bill when it in fact wasn’t and still charged to my card. For the $239 that I spent I felt like we were ripped off and could have eaten at Apple Bees for half of the price and a better experience. Only positive was the waiters
I went here for the first time couple weeks ago. I was excited to go since I've heard great things about this place. We got there and everything started off great. salad bar was awesome. We ordered our food and waited and waited and waited. we were there for over 2 hours. we ordered steaks of course and by the time we got them they not only were they cold they were raw and we did not order them that way. the potato had no flavor, dry, cold. My husband sent his food back to be cooked, took them forever to bring it back and still was not cooked to his liking. Also they sent him back with less meat that he had before! Also waiter rarely came back to see how we were... at one point my sister in law and her boyfriend needed to get up and go to the bar to get their own beers. For a place that has 4 stars and prices through the roof... I'd think it would have been better. Will not be returning.
This was one of the worst experiences myself and my family have ever had. My sister and I took our mother out for Mother’s Day, The food was absolutely tasteless and disgusting, the calamari tasted like old oil and was cold. The salad bar was atrocious, unkept, very unclean, picked through and not even wiped down. The spinach artichoke crab dip had no crab and no flavor. I ordered shrimp scampi as a an entree and the noodles were over cooked and stuck together. There was a pile of oil at the bottom of the bowl and it had absolutely no flavor. 300$ later for food and experience that was horrifying is very upsetting. We will not be returning and I would not recommend. The bread was the best thing that we had, and the waitstaff was decent. On top of the terrible food, our wait time was out of this world. We had a reservation for 6 and did not leave until 8:30, after waiting about 35 minutes to receive our meals.
First of all, the prices should dictate really good food. Sadly, the best part is the salad bar and that’s not over the top good. The clam chowder was lukewarm…I had to send it back to be heated up. Clam chowder should not come to the table lukewarm! The prime rib was the worst I have had in recent years. It was hard to cut and chewy! It was far over cooked and NOT prime rib but an imposter! I was able to get down 6 bites and that was all I could eat. The baked potato was far over done and again, LUKEWARM! Who serves a lukewarm baked potato??? I told the server I wanted just butter for the potato so she brought me JUST sour cream! I had to request butter and I was given attitude about that! We will never eat there again. I expect to have top quality food, cooked by a cook that knows how to cook, for the price we paid. My chair wobbled! They had a large table blocking the way to the back room…this is the 2nd time we had tried this place and we had the same exact problems the last time..so this is our true last time.
I usually visit this restaurant monthly while traveling for work (travel nurse). For the most part I’ve never had a problem until this past order . I ordered take-out. I arrived 25 minutes after they stated it would be ready for pick up at which point the food still wasn’t ready . I ordered a filet medium and if you look at the photos it’s noticeably bloody rare . Also, I did not receive the salad that came with my meal of which I paid for or utensils (I had to then go to the lobby of my hotel to request utensils) . All in all this past experience has left a bad taste in my mouth . The plain potato was alright ... Not so sure I’ll be ordering from here again .
Took an hour to get our food, my 5 year old got a better cut of steak for $12 than my wife and I for $30 each. The Pepsi was even flat. No bs, Texas Roadhouse is better
Honestly a disappointment. Waiter chased us down and claimed we did not add any gratuity when we paid when in fact we did. We were in a large group and split the cost so I’m not sure if there was a mix up there but I have NEVER had a waiter be that rude or have the audacity to come after us thinking we didn’t tip. Not sure if this guy was lying or genuinely didn’t think we tipped but again that is extremely unprofessional behavior and people like that have no business working in a service job if all they care about is big tips while providing bare minimum sub par service. Food was mediocre for a very high price. Shrimp Scampi was so overcooked and was not worth the price ($33). Will not be returning to this place ever again and will tell others to avoid this place at all costs.
Let me start by saying ...I never leave bad reviews...always try and find something good to take away from a dining experience...unfortunately we just had an alltime Top 5 Bad meal last Friday. Started off fine with a friendly staff and an old school vibe ...the salad bar was decent...warm bread a bonus. But then we got some food...a Seafood Tower app...well...it was not a "tower" at all...a side plate with reheated frozen apps with 2 of the saddest luke warm shrimp cocktail we've ever seen. Terrible...but we were out having a fun night , so we laughed it off , figuring the dinners would be better . Well an hour later and very attentive waiter checking on the food twice for us...it finally came. My brother in law got a medium rare rib eye...it was un recognizable in shape and when he cut into it , all white fat and sinew...when he finally hit actual steak...it was closer to well done ... Not to be over shadowed was their world famous prime rib 16 Oz cut...not only was it maybe 10 Oz, but it was a hunk of gristle and fat...and literally falling apart becasue of all the loosened connective tissue....sounds yummy right!? Waiter was great and agreed this was unacceptable and took them.both back to the kitchen. My wife, however, was left with a dried out, obviously microwaved bowl of rock.hard overcooked tasteless shrimp scampi in a sea of withered old linguine. When I tell you this was the worst pasta dish we have ever seen and tasted ...I am.dead serious. It was a plate of sorrow. The beef dishes came back after another 30 minutes ...visually better than before , but tasteless and over 50% inedible fat and gristle ... Chocolate mousse cake was very good...obviously NOT made in house. So now over 3 hours have passed...we are tired and still hungry...waiter and waitresses were great...but no Manager came over ...no concern at all...if you are charging $50 a steak...it better be damn good...this was not. They are serving Olive Garden food at Salt and Char prices ...shame on current management for allowing quality to plummet as it has...
