Opinions de Lobster Roll Amagansett
This is a place right out of the movies (In fact a tv show the affair) but the food was spectacular. Simple yet full of natural flavor. I had a lobster roll - seafood bisque (was told this was their best) and an ear of the sweetest best corn ever. It was like I’d never tasted lobster or corn so delicious. Here’s one of the most important things after visiting this area- they seemed to want me and my business- unlike other places
So delicious!!! Definitely will b back again. We had the calamari to start and the warm lobster roll, fish and chips, fried flounder sandwich, and chicken tenders as our mains ; paired with non other than beer from the local brewery - montauk brewery. Yum! 😋 Cute little atmosphere, does get busy so there was a minor wait (20m) to be seated. But once there, service was great, and the food was worth it.
Best lobster roll we tried on our trip through NY, Mass, and Maine - so that’s saying something. Their hot lobster roll can’t be beat! Paired with Hearty Manhattan Chowder is *chef’s kiss*. Only thing we didn’t enjoy were the buffalo calamari. I think we just enjoy calamari prepared the southern, calabash way. Don’t miss a stop in here. They are also dog friendly!
First time here it was so amazing. Definitely worth the hype it gets. The drinks were solid and food was delicious. We also had such incredible service with Cybele and Wendy. We ended up chatting with Ingrid as well about history of the restaurant and the food we got. Overall 10/10 experience I was really impressed.
If you like seafood right before arriving to Montauk this a nice stop location with a great menu selection. I was really looking forward to this location since they’re iconic for their lobster rolls. We had this incredible buffalo ranch calamari appetizer, omg it’s the best of the best! The Brooklyn Summer Ale beer on tap was nice and cold & the lobster rolls were mouthwatering deliciousness. We ordered the cold and hot lobster rolls, to try both and let me tell you the hot lobster roll is the way to go, highly recommended it. In the waiting area outside there is a window to buy drinks from the bar, which I thought was a great idea and convenient so while you wait, you can have a drink in the hot weather. Some cons unfortunately for this location are that now in the summer its very very busy, there’s limited bathrooms and seating at times when everyone arrives. if you’re a couple there is no seating outside for you most of the time and they don’t tell you but they play it off and have you sit you by the bar, I caught couples’ pattern, which was very disappointing but you can’t have everything in life, they got lucky I like the bar since the service was excellent. I will definitely come back to the spot and get a hot lobster roll, some beers and that incredible amazing buffalo Ranch calamari, oh my God I’m still thinking about it. Just because of the food & service they make up for the cons.
If you’re craving a delicious lobster roll (and other tasty dishes), this spot truly lives up to the hype. It was my first time in Montauk, and I had a serious craving for a lobster roll. After doing a quick search on Google and checking out a few local options, I landed on this place thanks to some TikTok recommendations—and I’m so glad I did. The food was incredible, and the seafood was exceptionally fresh. Just a heads-up: this place fills up fast, so I highly recommend going early to avoid a wait. I’m already planning to head back today for lunch!
Absolutely incredible lobster roll — one of the best I’ve ever had! Packed with fresh, tender lobster meat and just the right amount of seasoning, it was buttery, perfectly toasted, and full of flavor without being too heavy. You could tell the ingredients were top quality, and every bite was better than the last. The portion size was generous too, which made it even more worth it. On top of the amazing food, the vibes were spot on. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere with great music, clean space, and a super welcoming staff. Whether you’re hanging out with friends or just grabbing a solo bite, it’s the kind of place that instantly puts you in a good mood. It had that perfect coastal charm without feeling touristy. If you’re in the area and craving a lobster roll done right, don’t miss this spot — it’s a total gem. I’ll definitely be back!
Lunch in Amagansett, affectionately known as "The Lobster Roll," is a quintessential East End-Hamptons-Montauk experience that perfectly captures the spirit of a casual, beachy eatery. The iconic roadside sign is a beacon for locals and tourists alike, promising a no-frills meal that focuses on fresh, delicious seafood. The atmosphere is laid-back, with picnic tables under charming red and white awnings, making it the ideal spot for a post-beach lunch.
The Lobster Roll is one of those landmarks that truly lives up to the hype. Portions are generous and delicious with excellent service. Will be coming back very soon! It was roughly 80 per person with apps, drinks, entrees, and desserts.
Great little stop. Very friendly and helpful service. Good food. My wife and I each had a lobster roll, which were both delicious. I had the spicy passionfruit margarita, which was almost too spicy. Pleasant sitting area outside. Only downside is that the place (like most of the local food establishments) was somewhat spending. Still worth it.
I've been waiting for a long time to try this place out. Everytime I drive by it's sooooo busy that I end up just driving by it. Today I decided to wait... And I'm so glad I did! This place served me one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had. Perhaps even better than that was the service though. My order came out incredibly fast, all the employees were extremely nice and professional and the whole establishment was extremely clean and we'll kept. If you're looking for a great lobster roll and an equally great restaurant experience, I highly recommend you make the trip to this place.
My first visit to The Lobster Roll was more than 25 years ago and it remains as good then as it is now. Truly, this classic road side stand has withstood the tests of time. Do not be distracted by dizzying options and choices (they are all good), but steer straight for the Hot Lobster Roll (some assembly required; market price) which features big chunks of beautifully cooked lobster meat with drawn butter, a warm roll, and coleslaw. Remember to add fries, like everything else, they are awesome, hot and fresh, crispy and delicious. The portion will leave you just stuffed enough. The staff here are delightfully engaging and attentive, happy to see and serve you a great meal. Definitely recommend this to anybody headed to the Hamptons or Montauk. Definitely worth the drive and/or diversion. Just look for their iconic "LUNCH" sign and come hungry!
Unpretentious, however, iconic place in the Hamptons! Great to stop for a lunch on your way to Montauk. Very friendly and supportive staff. Good food: We had the Lobster Roll as a bowl (yummie!) and the Sword fish steak from grill – solid quality! They know definitely what they do. Nice American Diner ambience with a very little splash of a French vibe. Enjoyed sitting outdoors.
Servers are friendly and the menu is extensive. Highly recommend the hot lobster roll, though the traditional cold one is solid as well. Onion rings are very oily, so I'd suggest skipping them. Tip: this place is busiest when it first opens, so go for a later lunch or dinner. Nice outdoor space with flowers to help the space feel cozy.
I wish I’d taken pics of my food, but I was so excited to actually eat something on vacation- aside from pizza 🍕!! (Though Mystic Pizza? I’d have eaten that EVERY DAY… but I digress!) Anyhoo, vacations are not usually something that involve me being able to eat very much, as I’m ALLERGIC TO FISH AND SHELLFISH 🦐!! This was something that developed in my early 30’s, so unfortunately for me, I’d known seafood intimately, and we had a wonderful relationship. 😍 Imagine my surprise when I go to a seafood restaurant and blow up like, well, you get it. Anyway, I was excited for my husband to eat at The Lobster Roll, as we’d been fans of The Affair!! (At least the first 4 seasons, but don’t get me started there…) Anyway, we went after Labor Day in late September! The weather couldn’t have been any more beautiful. We had a 45 minute wait that was actually more like 20 minutes. The server was excellent and super sweet. She came over to get our orders, and I told her “I’ll just have a Diet Coke— I can’t eat at seafood restaurants because of possible cross contamination, as I'm allergic.” It’s something I’m used to saying, and I’ll usually try a dessert if I feel safe, or maybe some crackers. Well… you cannot imagine the excitement I felt when the server told me they had a gluten free fryer!!! So that means that I could eat some chicken tenders as well as ACTUAL FRENCH FRIES!! (Most places fry their fish with EVERYTHING… it’s so depressing. Im lookin’ at you, Cheesecake Factory and every Mexican/Chinese restaurant..ever. 😭😭😭😭 I MISS IT SO MUCH!!) so the designated GF fryer could be used for my fries, and I could eat GF chicken tenders! My husband ordered a LR, of course, and he loved his. For the first time since being diagnosed, I was able to comfortably eat something fried, and it’s couldn’t have been better!!! I asked for ranch, and it was def homemade, which makes life SO MUCH BETTER. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I even loved the GF chicken tenders!! I’m obv chatty, but this review is prolly the longest I’ve ever written…sorry for being long-winded, I just can’t say enough good things!! We wanted to get something like “Cherry’s Pies” when we left, but we settled on an Oreo (cookies & cream?) cupcake, which was huge and delicious 🤤. My husband has a beer, so all in all, I think our bill was $60, so $75 after tip.) That’s expensive where we come from, but if we lived near them, we’d be eating there weekly. Thank you so much Lobster Roll… you’ve officially made this girl the happiest I’ve been at a restaurant on vacay (and even home!) in 8ish years. I love you forever. ♥️♥️♥️ If you’re planning on taking a trip, make SURE you go to TLR. They are the BEST.
We had the famous lobster roll with fries, and it’s as good as they say. Fresh, tasty and filling. I also ordered New England clam chowder, it was perfect. Not too salty, not too oily and large chunks of clam. Prices are what you expect for fresh seafood. The vibe is “beach shack” and there is plenty of parking. Wait time was 30min, but food was ready in less than 10.
I was so excited to see THE LOBSTER ROLL! My Aunt and I watched the series The Affair and we had to see it! It was great! The only thing I wish they had was pictures of the characters in the show or something paying tribute to it.
Probably the best lobster roll in the hamptons area. We arrived right when they were about to close, but that didn’t impact the freshness of the food one bit. I got the cold lobster roll but a few of the people I was with got the hot lobster roll. Both were absolutely incredible and a must have when in the area. We did get bitten by mosquitoes a few times so be aware it’s a bit buggy. This is a dining but very low-key establishment. Nothing fancy just good food.
So GOOD! I went on Memorial Day weekend so the crowds were crazy yet my companion and I got seated almost right away. The staff worked like a well oiled machine - very impressive! I ordered clam chowder and the hot lobster roll. I’m generally never that impressed by lobster (I know, weird) but heirs was delicious!
The Lobster Roll is located as a single restaurant, standing alone amidst dune vegetation and found on the side of the Montauk Highway between two beachside communities. It has a gluten free menu that a lot of seafood restaurants of their type don't have. This makes The Lobster Roll a special place to me. The menu had many different types of seafood. One of the selections was a gluten-free lobster roll. It came with coleslaw and french fries, and the GF roll was toasted perfectly. The lobster was presoaked in melted butter and was delicious. Usually, though, the lobster is a bit more difficult to chew, this lobster easily fell apart when biting down. Another interesting addition to the menu was the "Montaukila." It was a margarita-like drink that featured a locally created tequila. It was smooth and didn't have that smoky aftertaste that can cause someone to cough. The atmosphere was festive, with a touch of the upscale aesthetic expected of a place near "the Hamptons." The cost of a lobster dinner for two and two drinks hovered around $100 before tip. Service was excellent. Foe those interested in supporting business who have a mind for green and sustainable practice, our drinks were straw-free. Plastic serving cups were used for the coleslaw, paper for the fries, and ceramic for everything lobster related. It did not seem like there were solar or wind energy setups anywhere, but the business seemed to be a great place to get some of there power from it. Three stars for their ecoinnovation.
We were so thrilled with every single part of our experience at Lunch and lobster! It is so hard to find a place that puts care and effort into providing celiac safe gluten free options. Thank you for providing a special meal!
You absolutely cannot go wrong here. Known simply as Lunch to the locals, we went because our friends had seen it while watching a TV series (called "The Affair," I think). Fabulously large menu. Everything we saw come out looked superb... Everything! Indoor and outdoor seating options abound, but there may be a wait. If you are waiting, you can literally order drinks at a window on the porch. This is wayyyyyy more than a popular roadside drive-in. Awesome!
We had the seafood broil (which was fine), new England clam chowder (great flavor, very meaty, a little runny for my taste), lobster roll (fantastic), mussels (plump as described in a great garlic sauce), and the apple crisp (very good!). Staff was friendly, service was fast, vibes were comfy.
We tried this restaurant on our way to Montauk and believe me it is a MUST to stop for a lobster bisque. The service is great, the ambience is also amazing: it is always packed with people and staff. We took our baby with a stroller and there was room enough around the table. Loved the lobster roll, it has plenty of meat. We tried the nachos...not so good and the key lime pie, you must try them. The key lime pie has been on their menu for many years and they claim to be the best!
We went to Lunch Lobster Roll in Amagansett because my wife is obsessed with The Affair on HBO and insisted we see where it was filmed — yes, our “cultural pilgrimage.” Naturally, we ordered lobster rolls because… well, that’s literally the point of the place. And we had dessert because they call it Andreas Desserts, which is hilarious since our daughter’s name is Andriana — clearly fate. Aside from my wife spilling an entire cup of water on my lap (classic parenting hazard), everything was excellent. The lobster roll was slightly overcooked and could have had a bit more meat, but it was flavorful and tasty. Sweet potato fries? Delish. Wife’s fish sandwich? Very good. Service was friendly and attentive the whole time. Would we go back? Absolutely. Would I survive another water ambush? Debatable. Either way — 5 stars for food, fun, and full Amagansett vibes.
Fantastic Lobster Roll, the fries were crispy not greasy, my Burger was perfectly cooked and tasty, and the Clam Chowder was delicious!! This roadside joint was busy and worth it, a complete "must eat" location!! Jessica was awesome!!
No trip to Montauk is complete without visiting this place! Lobster Roll is a staple whenever I visit and everything about the place makes the experience amazing. It goes without saying that you need to order the classic lobster roll (hot or cold, both are really good) and try it for yourself. The place is always pretty busy so try to get there earlier if you have a larger group. They also have lots of seating both indoors and outdoors depending on the weather and mood you are in. Their service is pretty quick and the food is really tasty and makes you know that you are really in a coastal town. Definitely check this place out if you are in town.
A must visit! It’s right on the highway and before you get into town, have to stop in. I’ve only had the lobster roll here but def a must! The service is great, food comes out very quickly and never had any issues with wait (have always gone during the week for lunch). They have an extensive drink and food menu, I’m sure it all tastes great here. There is shaded outdoor seating as well!
Drove about 3 hours to eat here and it did not disappoint. Delicious fresh seafood. Wait time was a bit but sitting at the bar cut it in half. Staff friendly and funny😀The warm lobster roll was the best come with big chunks of lobster meat! The original lobster roll was just as i expected, a lobster salad put on roll. Awesome. While wait they have a separate line to get a drink, cool. Waitress said there was an upstairs also. I am definitely going back! Beautiful town it was located in also
Visited this place in summer as a tourist attraction after watching The Affair tv show. Still preserving the same setup inside and outside giving the great feel of living in the show and actors. Tried their famous lobster roll and it’s delicious. Also tried the salad with veggie patty and it’s super rich with pistachios, cranberries and lot of veggies. Higher on the price range and there is long wait in the peak season but worth the wait.
Lunch Lobster Roll is the best thing I've had in my Hamptons trip. I do recommend getting their namesake lobster roll as it is a perfect meal. The bun is perfectly fluffy and generously buttered. The lobster is succulent and fresh. The slaw gives a cool kick. And butter lobster drippings? It's what sets this apart from all the other rolls. Go try it now!
Looking for that quintessential I am on vacation meal? Lobsters, sweet corn, clams? It just did not get any better than coming to the Lobster Roll, an icon welcoming your arrival to Montauk. Menu choices are everything seafood plus a few grilled types of meat for land lovers. Additionally, they have express orders for quartz of soups and takeout too. And they have many healthy salads and add on's too. For those concerned about health issues, they sanitize, wear masks, and appear exceptional in paying attention. They also have both indoor and covered outdoor seating. And if you opt for the Clams Casino, save the dish and pour the bacon flavors garlic butter over your sweet corn and lobster or baked potato. My superb waitress tipped me off. The taste was just out of this world! Enjoy!
We had a great lunch today! We arrived at 11:40 and waited online for the restaurant to open. We were promptly seated despite multiple parties being ahead of us. Our server was attentive and our food was delicious. Lobster rolls were tasty and perfectly prepared. We were seated outside with our dog as were other groups. I asked for a cup of water to put in our portable dog bowl and they brought me a whole dog bowl over! We drove over 2 hours to try this place and we will definitely return!
My friend and I stopped at LUNCH on Montauk Highway while he was here last week visiting from California. We very excited to visit. We came in after a long day for a quick dinner before the storm, and it was absolutely fantastic (as usual.) There was no wait at the bar area; the atmosphere was lively and fun with such positive energy and Friendliness all around; exactly the kind of Montauk vibe I grew up with. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and while they’ve done some renovations over the years, the quality and charm haven’t changed a bit. Always a nostalgic favorite! 😊 🦞

We visited on Saturday 8/3/24. We come to lobster roll annually as we visit the hamptons/montauk area. The food was well paced From our drinks. Chill vibes everyone was relaxed not rushing you to order food or drinks. We ordered Lobster roll & fish and chips. The quality of the food here has definitely changed through the years. What use to be 10/10 is now 7/10. My lobster roll wasn’t on the roll came on the side. It also had no flavor to it where as in the past It was flavorful. My husband had the fish and chips and he stated that the batter wasn’t spectacular. Hes had better. We loved the Mango smoothie and frozen lemonade. The outside dining is also very nice. We will be back next season. Hope a few changes are made. Theres also a location in south Hampton. I must say the bathrooms Were VERY GROSS. Ive never seen them like this before. So many workers and no one attending rest rooms.
Pretty good overall — clean place, nice atmosphere, and the food was decent. It’s more of a fast-casual spot than a full-service restaurant, so paying $120 for a family lunch felt quite expensive. The seafood is prepared in a very Americanized style — not bad, just something to be aware of.
Returned here after 5 years for a repeat lunch on Memorial Day weekend. Love the food - the fried items are crisp, fresh, the broiled items (like the hot lobster roll) were mouth watering delicious. The cup of chowder was served in a literal coffee cup, and I loved how creamy and flavorful it was. Time to return for a third time one of these days!
A very popular roadside seafood place as evidenced by 3 phone lines just to take the order! Highly recommend to order ahead of time. The staff was very friendly considering how busy they are. The lobster roll is not bad yet less memorable among the ones I have tried in this area. The New England clam chowder has clean background thus the clam flavor really stood out. The fruit pie was delicious and really made a sweet ending. The gluten free options was also impressive.
Very friendly staff. Both the host and our server were great. Nice when accommodating our requests. Would have ranked higher but for $42 I hoped for a bit more lobster on my salad. My husband had the lobster stuffed tomato which he loved. The tomato was fresh and flavorful. Yummy coleslaw. It’s a busy place but we got in pretty quickly. Must go!
Absolutely outstanding. The setting, the atmosphere. Good table staff and food that was to die for. I loved every moment of it and was disappointed that I had to leave to go home. Can't recommend The Lobster Roll enough. (And yes...the lobster roll itself was superb!) NB, please have cash to tip staff. They take card tips but cash is always more appreciated I think.
I came here with a group of friends for lunch and was excited to see all the options on the menu, including their different sized lobster rolls. The Manhattan clam chowder was amazing, as well as the bisque. The service was also friendly and quick. I ordered the seafood nachos and I personally found the combination a little strange, but would recommend everything else on the menu!
This was last summer, the place is usually so crowded and well known, so i wanted to try. I ordered their famous lobster roll but the taste was not so different than the usual, except it came deconstructed wich i saw no common sense with it. Is very hot and most sits are outside. Pleseant experience though
Overall I had a really enjoyable time. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious, although for the prices, you wish that the portions were slightly bigger. But you go to the East End knowing that things will be a bit pricier. If you’re handicapped or have trouble walking it will be a bit tricky with the gravel parking lot and gravel back patio. The bathrooms were small as well.
No just Lobster Roll; great place to stop on your way to Montuak. A family day outing and exploring builds an appetite. Four of us and we had great seating outside in the patio that was semi covered. From the hostess to the server and everyone in between where courteous, friendly, prompted and professional; which made for a great experience. Plenty of parking & clean bathrooms. We had 2 Lobster roll, 1 Fish and Chips and a crab cake appetizer. All of it extremely fresh almost as if it had be just cought out back a cooked up. Yummy! We had local beer. A must do if going to Montuak.
Very popular place with nice outdoor seating area. Most fish dishes are quite pricey, while drinks are ok. Their signature lobster roll, which one of our party had, was the size of about 1/2 hot dog, contained a lot of celery, and was rather bland. Luckily, we ordered an oyster sandwich and the only seasonally available puffer fish and chips (pictured). Both were really nice. The puffer fish platter was generous, the flesh is firm and reminds of monk fish, and was very fresh. The pinkish tartar sauce on the side was really tasty.
The Chocolate Obsession desert is AMAZING!! Burgers where good and all and lobsterroll was fine. Bit pricy for what kind of food it was but it was alright. It was very busy but service was good and fast. Sidenote: Toilets are extremely busy due to people from the road stopping to pee.
I'm in between 3.5 and 4 stars. The hot lobster rolls were good & the fried clam bellies were very good but... For the money, the portions were a bit small. I've definitely had better value and better food in the area. Still worth a visit if it's on the way for you, I wouldn't go out of my way for this.
Found this restaurant at the side of the road. There was plenty of parking. Service was great and quick but I dropped by after the lunch rush. The staff was wonderful and I didn't eat for 3-4 hours. The fish and chips was great but didn't expect frozen fries as chips. The hot lobster roll was a bit small for the $ but it's whatever. The peach smoothie drink was a bit icy / watery. Would I pull over again, yes.
Hard to miss this spot as it’s colorful & right off montauk hwy. pretty spacious place with lots of tables. Service is really good, they care for sure. Calamari was disappointing, was a lil chewy & the sauce was average at best. The lobster roll however, lived up to the restaurant name & was great. Good portion of lobster , flavorful & came with fries, butter & lemon. The bread was also very good & soft . Crinkle cut fries are my favorite so I was happy about that . Had one of our daiquiris spill on the floor by accident & our waiter was very helpful as a result & got us napkins & didn’t charge us for the new one. Check this place out, it’s one of the faces of the east end
I would say in total I would give this a 3.5 for the food, but have them 4 stars because of the atmosphere and service. The lobster roll and fries were $41, and while I expect it to be pricey, the roll wasn't anything to write home about. I think $31 is a more apt price, but still wanted to try it because of the reviews. Roll was mehh, but I would go here to have a few beers and hang out.
I never heard of lobster roll before nor have I ever had it before and for my first experience I enjoyed it very much. To see the crowds throughout the day made me want to visit this place even more and when I finished work I made it my duty to visit. They have a lot of options for every category of foods to eat which made it difficult but at the same time it gave me options to choose what I wanted and I chose the lobster roll. The lobster roll was absolutely delicious and very filling. I was impressed for I thought that it wasn't going to fill me up but it did. The staffing was friendly and helpful in picking what I would be interested in and it didn't disappoint. If I ever come back out to Montauk again I'll surely pass by to taste more of what they serve.
Very cool spot. Food was delicious. On the ground floor with the dunes and brush you cannot see the ocean. Drive west a couple minutes and on the streets to the left, go down there and see the ocean. Beautiful beach. We sat at the bar and in so doing, only waited 5 min’s. We were served by Marcela. She was excellent. I got the seafood nachos and the wife got the cold lobster roll. Very delicious s I also peeked over and saw other folks platters and all looked wonderful. The place is hoping. High throughput. They have a separate line just for drinks.

Was looking forward to trying this iconic spot, and while the we loved the location and atmosphere and whole vibe, the food underwhelmed. The mussels in butter and garlic were good, and appreciated that it was just butter and garlic and not a scampi style broth. The lobster salad roll however was a disappointment. It was loaded with big chunks of celery, completely taking focus away of the lobster itself. And the bun to lobster ratio is off. Roll is too big and makes one feel they are not getting their money’s worth when it’s not filled with lobster. While $35 is a fair price in today’s world, it’s not here with that amount of product on there. The lobster itself was good, but when taking a bite of the entire thing, the bread and celery compromise the integrity of the lobster itself.
My son and me got sick from the stuffed shrimp. The shrimp was really fresh but with the crab stuffing something was wrong. Fish and chips was nice not greasy my hubby order it,but no seasoning at all. My other son hamburger was dry and overcooked. (We asked medium, place was busy so I take it for excuse) Unfortunately that what we only was able to eat yesterday for lunch after we canceled the diner reservation.. For appetizers we ordered fried calamari it was awesome. Parking easy and free, front of the restaurant, you can choose in and outdoor seating.A quick stop for a lunch on the road.
Tried the lobster roll here, but honestly, it wasn’t worth the $40 price tag. The taste was decent — fresh lobster meat with a little mayo and celery in a toasted split-top bun — but the portion was small, closer to 4–5 ounces. It only came with a tiny side of coleslaw and a lemon wedge, no chips or fries included. For the cost, I was expecting either a much larger portion or something that felt premium (like butter-poached lobster or an overflowing roll). Instead, it felt like I was paying a “tourist markup.” The quality was fine, but the value just isn’t there. In Montauk, I know prices run high, but $40 for this size roll is really pushing it.
I have to say we did not find this food “tasty”; the the lobster salad tasted like it had been sitting in water, little flavor and my co diner felt the same about her soft shell crab. We agreed although the prices were reasonable, we would be fine with spending more to get some flavor. Oh, I must say the corn chowder was out of this world delicious!
My husband and I recently returned to the restaurant specifically for the buffalo calamari, which had left a great impression during our previous visit. I’m pleased to say it did not disappoint, crispy, flavorful, and as enjoyable as we remembered. Thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Unfortunately, the rest of the meal gave some kind of a nose dive from there. We both ordered the lunch special, which included a soup and the Angus beef burger. We both chose the lobster bisque, which was at okay-good level. It contained small pieces of seafood which was great, but leans heavy on the creamier side. The accompanying fries were noticeably dry and crumbly, suggesting they had likely suffered from freezer burn and were cooked too quickly at a high temperature. The most disappointing aspect, however, was the burger itself. It was severely overcooked, burnt throughout rather than just on the exterior. The patty was dry, crumbly, and carried an overwhelmingly bitter taste, making it extremely difficult to enjoy. Despite our attempts to just send it down, it was ultimately inedible. The coleslaw was on the sweeter side, which may not be to everyone’s preference, but it was otherwise fine. In summary, while the buffalo calamari remains a standout, but the rest of the dining experience fell short. The quality of the main course and sides was unfortunately not on par with the appetizer that initially brought us back. Left kinda hungry.
Not good. The food was made fast and cheap but cost alot. I have eaten here a few times before and can definitely say there quality went down hill. The service and Mussles were good but thats it. The calamari was way overcooked and chewy. The fried clam strips were a joke. Mostly tiny little bits. Their classic lobster roll taste like mayonnaise and celery And the hot lobster roll had very little flavor probably due to cheap lobster meat. A lot of people are gonna tell you to go here because it's been around for a long time but don't waste your time there is much better quality places wis places with much better prices.
This place has outdoor seating available and we were seated immediately. Dined around 7pm and it was fairly busy, about 75% full. A lot of young kids eating here. Had a table of 6 guys next to us, all in their early 20s, talking and yelling very loudly about if they would rather marry Lady Gaga or Ariana Grande. On the other side of our table had 8 young people also very loud and drinking quite a bit. Back two tables were also filled with large groups of loud kids. All fine and well but just to note this was not the best place for a date night, was very loud and difficult to talk and would be a better option for friends or family meeting for dinner. The food was expensive and not exactly worth it. The clam chowder was good but not great. It did had a lot of clams but several sandy bites. The crab cakes were not good, odd seasonings, and one was burnt on the bottom. The coleslaw was OK but plain, very light vinegar dressing and no carrots. Cold lobster roll was pretty good, lots of lobster but was dry and needed more mayo. French fries were typical frozen crinkle cut. Corn on the cob was overcooked and came with no butter, had to ask for packets. Dessert was very good. Had the frozen key lime and the warm chocolate cake, both were excellent. Service was not great here. Initially was brought the wrong soup. Took the soup back and brought the correct soup and after 2 bites, here is the entrees. The food got cold as we ate our soup. We asked for a dessert menu and 15 minutes later we got it. Took forever for her to take our order and bring the desserts. Waited 40 minutes from the time we told her we wanted dessert till we finally got it. Getting the check was another hassle. I didn't feel like it was busy enough that we should of had to wait so long for service. If you're a young person that likes to drink and order chicken fingers, I think this is your place and you'll make lots of new friends. Otherwise, steer clear. There are comparable or better lobster rolls and desserts (the only two redeeming things) at other restaurants.
I expected more! The food was mediocre. I ordered the stuffed jumbo shrimp that cost just under $30. I waited 40 minutes for my food. When my plate came out I was disappointed to see 4 pieces of medium sized shrimp. I guess jumbo is relative. The crab stuffing was ok but I've honestly had better at other less expensive seafood chains. The side of coleslaw was small and not good. That day they also ran out of 2 different menu items. Im pretty sure I won't be going back.
