Nick & Toni's is a Hamptons staple known for its warm atmosphere, delicious Italian food, and excellent service. The zucchini fritti and rigatoni are highly recommended. Reservations are a must, especially during peak season, as it gets crowded.

Very consistent restaurant with excellent food would recommend
Phenomenal meal. Best service. Absolutely delicious food, the ricotta dip , the potatoes . YUMMY love it here so much !!!!
We got there at almost 10pm having just driven into town from Westchester. They said the kitchen was open until 1030 and welcomed us to have dinner. The food was amazing, American Wagyu strip for me, sea scallops and rissoto for my wife. They never rushed us even though it was close to closing time and had a lively group of people at the bar who were in no rush to leave and weren't being asked to go.
Yet another amazing meal and complete experience at one of my favorite restaurants on the East End. It was Restaurant Week and Nick & Toni’s still delivered its top notch service, quality and deliciousness. I started with the Local Razor Clam appetizer (never overlook this when it’s available!), had the Chicken as my entire (very large portion with smashed potatoes and extra sautéed spinach with chickpeas on the side) and finished it off with the incredible Profiterole dessert. Malted Milk gelato in between. Yum! Their Pre-Prohibition Manhattan is a fave for me to add into the mix. Overall 10+++ from the restaurant that always delivers the best, whether you arrive in jeans or a three-piece suit. Happy to see it so busy between the bar and the tables. Despite the ridiculous weather, Spring has finally sprung in the Hamptons!
Unsurpassed food, service and atmosphere. Never in my life have I gone to a restaurant and finished my meal. From appetizer to entree, sides and desert incredible!! We started with warm sourdough bread w/ olive oil. Sooo good!!. Melts in your mouth. Appetizer was Wood Roasted Lamb Ribs. The most flavorful ever. My entree was Penne alla Vecchia Bettola Spicy Oven Roasted tomatoes. Heavenly! Desert was a special…. 4 mini donuts filled with caramel custard and brown sugar. Speechless!! A must try!!!
The food was incredible. Classic flavors and nothing was over-seasoned, which is so rare lately. Everyone was very professional and kind. Easy parking. Highly recommend.
Went to celebrate my daughter's 2 year old bday. The servers were very friendly and courteous, The ambience was nice. The food and the deserts were of good quality.
Excellent food and even better service. Manager was beyond accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable. Appetizers and entrees were fresh and simple in the best way. Must visit!
Great food and atmosphere, super friendly and professional service plus fun crowd, coming back every summer and definitely one of our top 5 dinner spots in the Hamptons!
12 year anniversary dinner: Exceptional food, amazing service and wine. We had a tasting menu- American charcuterie, burrata with local carrots, tuna tartare, gnocchi (best we've ever had), cod with wild mushrooms, lamb chops, and lemon Napoleon and Lavender cream puffs (I don't even like lavender and they were incredible!). The most beautiful woman in the place was sitting across the table but J-Lo was there too. I guess that's cool but I would go back for the food, wine and service.
Thoroughly delicious meal in the most beautiful outdoor setting for my family of five. Scott, our waiter, was absolutely the best. We will definitely be back.
Fantastic. We Turned up with no reservations on the 23rd of December because the restaurant we had booked for our anniversary, had a power shut-off (We found out on arrival). The lady that greeted us on arrival gave complimentary Champagne for our special day. The table was set with sparkle and love hearts, the food was delicious (Whole fish cooked in front of our own eyes on the wood burner) the service was fantastic and our anniversary evening turned out better than I could have hoped down to the Staff at Nick&Toni’s. Thank you so much.
Unbelievable dining experience! The ambiance was perfect, the service impeccable, and the food was simply divine. Every dish was a masterpiece. From the fresh appetizers to the decadent desserts, everything was top-notch. Highly recommended!
I heard this place was played out and passed its prime. NOT TRUE! I’ve been in the Hamptons a week and this was by far one of the best meals I had. The bartenders are top notch. The food is exceptional and the ambience is insanely personal. They are an institution. They deserve major props for their commitment to excellence.
Went tonight and had a wonderful time. Jocelyn was a wonderful waitress and I was so happy to have the chance to meet her! Personable, kind, fun, and professional. The food was superb (as always) and I was very happy with the entire evening. Thank you for making a celebratory night out all that much better!
Moses is professional, attentive and knowledgeable: a wonderful person and a terrific waiter. A perfect ambassador for N&T’s!
🎈What a service ! For FATHERS’Day my daughter invited me to Nick and Toni’s for dinner. As we started our dinner, my daughter dropped a fork by accident. In just a few second, the Mgr was at our table and a waiter was also already there immediately with a fresh fork. I have never seen such a special attention at a restaurant.. The service was unbelievable because of the fantastic people working there. The food was very delicious. We are coming back as soon as we can. Special thanks to the entire Team at Nick and Toni’s.
I had the most lovely evening dining here by myself at the bar last night. It was super busy when I arrived around 9pm (to be expected at any well reviewed place on a Saturday night) but the hostess Kirsten was warm and welcoming and made sure I didn’t feel forgotten in the crowd of folks waiting for their tables in the foyer. One of the 3 attentive bartenders Carlos suggested a fabulous Rose which I ended up having 2 (ok ok 3) glasses of. I waited for a spot at the bar (whilst sipping that fab Rose) for maybe 20 min. Bartender Danny then helped me navigate the menu (2x) and I ordered the zucchini chips (can easily feed 4) which were absolutely delicious and the sea bass (one of the specials). It was a very hearty portion and Oh. So. Good. Danny was so friendly and engaging with all the bar patrons, myself included. Once he left for the night Bartender Danielle took over and was just as pleasant, engaging and friendly as everyone else. I have zero complaints or critiques (shocking). I will certainly be back.
This was not only our favorite meal in the Hamptons, but one of our very favorite meals of the year! We even saw Bobby Flay eating in the restaurant while we were there. This is a can't miss for anyone visiting the Hamptons.
A recommendation I’ll forever be grateful for. Vicky( our waitress) was WONDERFUL!!!! Knowledgeable , funny, kind and fabulous. On her advise my husband and I ordered the special wild salmon. Out of this world and extremely well priced. Everything was wonderful. Will definitely return but kudos to all. A splendid evening..
Excellent dining experience. Wonderful selection of three or four local fresh fish options, plus an assortment of other desirable dishes. You can’t go wrong. One of the best choices available on the East End or anywhere. Sure it’s busy, it’s crazy busy because it’s great. Yum yum.
This was a wonderful experience from the drinks though each of the courses. We kept going because each course was really authentic and delightfully Italian. A lovely meal. Great atmosphere.
Tried this spot during a weekend in the Hamptons. From the pasta to the fish, everything was very good! The atmosphere was lively yet cozy. Overall would recommend.
We’ve visited Nick and Toni’s a few times, and we decided to return for my cousin’s birthday dinner this year. From the moment we made the reservation on Resy, where we noted the celebration, the staff went above and beyond to make the night truly special. They had the table beautifully set with birthday confetti and even created a gorgeous dessert plate to celebrate my cousin’s big day. The service was exceptional, as always—attentive, friendly, and professional. It’s always a fantastic experience, and we’re so grateful for the thoughtful touches that made this celebration unforgettable. Highly recommend!
My girl Laurie is the BEST. She made me feel at home and made sure all guests were taken care of.
If you're looking for a dining experience in East Hampton that combines exquisite food with a charming ambiance, Nick & Toni’s is the place to go. It was our first time coming back to the restaurant since the pandemic and we came with our neighbor and good friend. The pasta dishes are perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Make sure to try the beet salad it's absolutely delicious. The duck and chicken were also cooked to perfection. Whether you're a returning guest or a first-timer, Nick & Toni’s promises a memorable meal that will leave you planning your next visit. Highly recommended!
I had an incredible dining experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely amazing. Willie provided great service; he was friendly and made fantastic recommendations. The steak and whole fish were both exceptionally flavorful. The spinach and chickpea side dish was a delightful surprise, packed with flavor. The pesto spaghetti was perfectly balanced with the Burrata and not overpowering. I can't wait to go back! P.S. I recommend the Meyer Lemon Cosmo! It’s a fantastic drink.
I came to dinner with my husband and three kids ages 8, 10 and 12. The servers were very attentive. Our food was great. To be honest, this is the best meal we have had in East Hampton in the last 12 years. The foie gras tortellini was amazing. My kids shared a strip steak, they all enjoyed it. They also had the kids Mac and cheese which was great! We have the rigatoni bolognese and the tile fish which was so fresh and flaky. The smashed potatoes were delicious as well! We were so full we didn’t order dessert! Can’t wait to go back!
Came for dinner and had a great time! The food is outstanding, especially the pastas (mafaldine and campanelle), the focaccia, and asparagus. Waitstaff was very nice and accommodating for allergies in our group.
One of the most immaculate meals I’ve had. Thank you to our server, Jesse and the team there for making our date night so magical. I will definitely recommend this to everyone I know. The zucchini chips are a MUST!
Been coming here for years. I love the Halibut and Strip Steak. My wife loves the Gelato. Good drinks also. Reservations in season are a must.
Very fun restaurant with delicious food! Accommodated our large party (14 people). I’m vegan and they had incredible options. Really yummy dinner!
Enjoyed our 31st anniversary celebration at Nick & Tonis! The food and atmosphere never disappoint but the highlight of the evening was the service we received from their newest server Moses. He checked every box and went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. His sincere concern for our needs was unsurpassed and Nick & Tonis is so very lucky to have him representing their incredible establishment. Thanks for an amazing experience Moses…. See you soon!
My family and I have been going to Nick & Toni's, on & off, for 20 years and it is still one of our favorites when we are in the Hamptons! We dined there yesterday and as always, was very happy with management & blown away by the service & the food. Nick & Toni's NEVER disappoints! It's always well-run and very clean. Thank you for making our experience & my birthday VERY special. We will be back again. Enjoy the summer!
Great experience. My wife and I went on a Monday night in August. We wanted to avoid crowds, but it's not an issue with the dining room layouts. Cozy place and not too noisy (like many places can be). We had a couple of appetizers including the yellowfin tuna crudo, which was very fresh and a geat start. Also tried the wood oven roasted peaches. I'm not a fan of overly sweet food, but this was just right. Smokey and sweet - very nice. After that, we tried the house-made Campanelle with Lobster. Excellent as well. I try to avoid pasta and carbs, but this was worth it. For a main course, I ordered the Tilefish, which was my favorite part of the meal. It was prepared with a crispy side that (I think) was lightly seasoned with white pepper and sea salt. (Tilefish is very underated if you haven't tried it BTH). Highly recommended. My wife got the wood over fish of the day, which was Striped Bass. She was very happy with her meal. Hard to go wrong with two local fish that are so fresh. On top of everything else, much of the vegeteables and ingredients come fresh from the garden right outside the restaurant. Staff was super friendly, attentive and didn't interrupt every two minutes. All in all - would recommend, and will be returning in the future.
The OG Hamptons spot to see and be scene… Ideal for family dinners, (with grown kids), engagements, life moments…ideal for 3 couples having a wine+food long drawn out summer get together. Best option off season for a cozy wood burning stove fish or pizza. If you don’t know about the zucchini chips- your behind in the game. Best Tartuffo this side of Italy. You can find me at the bar on a weekday or late nite - 💯
We had a wonderful time last night. Our waiter Moses guided our entire experience and made recommendations that we loved. We had the zucchini fritti which was lovely, but we felt it needed a sauce. My boyfriend had the chicken which was delicious and I had the short rib ravioli which was tasty! For dessert we finished with olive oil cake which was light and refreshing. Would recommend!
Always delicious and comfortable. Knowledgeable and courteous servers. They are respectful and not intrusive or rushing you. Beautiful food prepared simply and perfect so natural flavors prevail.
This review is a little late, but my husband and I had dinner here last month while we were in town. The service was phenomenal. For an appetizer we got the Zucchini Fritti which I highly recommend. It's a large portion, so easily shareable. They are also addictive, and we had them polished off in no time flat. My husband also enjoyed the fig salad. For entrees, I had the roast chicken, and my husband had their market catch (I believe black bass?) For dessert, we ordered the Tartufo. You could probably feed 4 with that thing, lol. It was great, although I wish the chocolate was more prominent. The only issue I had with our visit was the seating. We were sat in the doorway of the room we were in, which was fine, except that my husband couldn't sit across from me or he'd be in the way. So he sat on the side of a table clearly meant for two. This left very little legroom and was a bit uncomfortable. If we could sit anywhere else, I would absolutely come back next time we're in the area.
I have eaten here a few times before but my most recent visit was extra special - it was the first night of my bachelorette trip and my 4 friends and I had the best experience! The food was delicious, drinks were great and our server Moises (and the rest of the staff) were 10/10. Nick and Toni’s is a must-visit for me whenever I am in the Hamptons
I've been going to Nick & Toni's since the early 1990's. I was sort of a regular on Friday nights in the 2000's sitting at the bar for dinner & drinks with friends. When my parents would come to visit, we would always go to N&T's either sitting outside or in their main dining room. I remember Bonnie so well. She treated us ever so kindly! The pandemic happened and I never went back until this past Friday night. OMG. After all these years, its BETTER THAN EVER!!! We sat at the countertop (thats what we wanted) and the service couldnt have been any better. Superior to most highly rated restaurants in Manhattan. Food was incredible too!!! The beat salad and Trumpet Mushrooms....YUMMY. Of course the Zucchini Fritti was as good as always. Actually, it was much, much better this time around. The front desk (manager and host) were incredible too. Personable and easy to talk to. Great people watching too. And atmosphere great. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. Congrats after all the years!
Visited for the $32 Two-Course Pizza & Pasta Prix Fixe. Excellent food. Excellent service (I suspect thanks to being off season). The wait staff coming to tell me the pasta special was SEVEN agnolotti not the SIX he had sold me, was a little over the top, but attention to detail is important
We were a group of three and had a great experience. We started with three appetizers: zucchini, artichokes and a salad. The first two were incredible. Then we shared a pizza and the rigatoni. Pizza was normal but the rigatoni…out of this world! Highly recommended. To end we had two desserts, the lemon tart and the ice cream. Finally, we also had an incredible wine, Lion Tamer, that’s a mix of Malbec and Cabernet.
It sounds expensive, looks exclusive and maybe "oh so fancy" but it's not. Instead it's a warm, inviting atmosphere with a friendly, unpretentious staff. I went in jeans and didn't feel out of place. Give this landmark a try just once, and you'll be a loyal regular too. PS: the background music is wonderful too!
Grew up coming to Nick and Tonis, and just returned for the first time after ~5 years. Was so excited to find the same Nick and Tonis I’ve always known and loved, with some capacity modifications due to Covid. The tables are very spread out inside the restaurant to meet the 50% capacity requirement, and they also have a covered outdoor porch with heaters. The porch is still a bit cold thanks to the airflow allowed into the tent, so I’d recommend bundling up if you’re sitting out there on a chilly night. If you’re looking for a more casual, relaxed vibe, definitely check out the bar, which always feels like it’s full of either regulars or celebrities. The service was extremely attentive and gracious from the moment we got there to the moment we left. On the food side of things: - The zucchini chips. They’re the perfect thing to start with. Each slice of zucchini is perfectly crispy and so tasty. - Duck prosciutto salad. Lighter option with a few pieces of delicious prosciutto shaved on top. - Soft shell crab. This was a special, but if they happen to have it when you go, get it. It was so fresh and crispy, and came on a bed of arugula salad. - Grilled sweet potato with morel mushrooms, fava bean + leek ragu, and creme fraiche. Vegetarian or not, this is an incredible option for your entree, especially if you want something on the lighter side. - Striped bass. This was the fish of the day and was cooked perfectly. Whatever the fish of the day is when you go, it’ll most likely be just as great. - Tartufo for two. You need this signature dish for dessert. While they say it’s for two, you could share it with 4 people easily. Imagine a grape-fruit sized ball of chocolate ice cream with a hard, crunchy shell and caramel center. It’s mind blowing. entree. So flavorful and creamy. -
Overall a fantastic meal. We followed the recommendations of Ahkim, our waiter. Ahkim’s service was one of the best I’ve experienced. The linguini as starter was a good choice. The pasta had the perfect level of spiciness. The scallops with risotto were outstanding. I like to try different things on a menu but I’ll have to repeat the scallops with risotto next time. It was that good. The duck milanese was very tender and a good choice as well. The Tartufo dessert had a tasteful complexity and it was very fulfilling. It can be shared by 2 to 4 people. It’s huge. The only negative feedback was that the bar was a bit noisy and distracting.
Actually would give it a 4.5 but not an option for that. I got seared fluke with vegetables - very well done. We shared rock shrimp appetizer and spaghetti carbonara - shrimp good but carbonara not good - they burned the butter or cooking oil and it ruined the dish. The bread was delicious and crusty - absolutely the best! And the desert was delicious - almond filled little donuts and blueberry coconut gelato. Last... great friendly and attentive staff.
Went out for an impromptu date night mid-week, asked about availability when we arrived at 8 and older hostess quickly said it was “impossible tonight”. Went outside and made a resy reservation for 8:30pm and then enjoyed a stroll around the block before a great meal with wonderful service. The full Hampton experience I guess!
Beautiful iconic East Hampton spot. Warm staff, delicious pastas, Eggplant was quite tasty. Zucchini Chips are very good but very large portion - beware of the temptation to fill up on these.
Amazing Wood Oven Grilled Dishes - Great “Zucchini Fritto” in kicking off the evening - Beware of the small portions of N&T’s Pasta Dishes, even when ordered as an entree - Picturesque Setting - Acceptable Service on a very busy Saturday night!
This was a difficult review to write. On one hand I ordered the local razor clams (one of my favorite dishes from Long Island waters) and had to send it back because they were goal (maybe one spoiled in the bunch) however the rest of the food was amazing. The wait staff and chef went above and beyond trying to make up for the God awful clam smell. So overall...great one of greatest restsraunts in the Hamptons.
Food was a little slow to come out but otherwise delicious
Wished the portion sizes were bigger for the price. The 2 dishes we ordered were delicious, although the rigatoni bolognese was a tad bit too salty for us.
I’ve been to Nick & Toni’s in East Hampton many times over the years, and it’s always a pleasant experience overall. The staff was kind enough to make our anniversary dinner feel special, which we really appreciated. The ambiance is lovely — warm, lively, and quintessential Hamptons — and the service is consistently attentive without being overbearing. That said, the food continues to leave me with mixed feelings. The appetizers were just okay this time around, nothing particularly memorable. The tilefish entrée was excellent — perfectly cooked and full of flavor — but the beef stew was a real miss. It was chewy, lacking depth, and tasted like it hadn’t been cooked long enough. Honestly, I make a better version at home. All in all, Nick & Toni’s remains a nice spot for a special occasion or a cozy evening out, but the food can be hit-or-miss, which keeps me from rating it higher.
Had a dinner recently. Of course the Cesar salad did not let us down. The tuna fish as a main course was really delicious but not phenomenal, that’s why 4 stars. The restaurant parking was full, although we had early dinner, so had to look for parking on the street.
Nothing was horrible, but nothing wowed me. Dishes were all well conceived, but missed the mark. Service was iffy. One glass of wine did not arrive until after apps were finished, for example. For the price, we expect better.
Chic vibe! Service was great but the food was so-so. We had an 8:00pm reservation and by that time several items on the dinner menu were no longer available. The orechetti was okay: much spicier than anticipated!
Cute vibe, but terrible service. There were more servers than guests and we still had to wave them down to get assistance - disappointing. Food was just ok - nothing to rave about - had to send steak back to be cooked properly. Zucchini appetizer is their signature - it’s creative but a bit greasy. The rest of the food had unimpressive seasoning - we had the pork chop and steak. On a positive note - they did try to correct the steak mishap but unfortunately it was too late - we were ready to leave bc the rest of the party was finished with their meal.
Thought the restaurant was great until they charged us for extra bread for our mussels. Never seen a restaurant do that.
I only go there off season, too crowded during the summer. They have a great selections of wines, the staff is very nice. The food is decent but nothing special. I think they need to change their menu around a bit. Their desserts are fantastic, I heard there is a new dessert chef...
Inexperienced staff made our meal more difficult than it should have been and while the food was nice we felt it - together with the wines - were overpriced
I’d heard great things from friends... quite disappointed, probably not returning. Unimpressed with the food, service quality and ambiance. It’s clearly designed for people who appreciate being seen by other people who enjoy being seen while eating overpriced food. Not the best way to spend an anniversary.
I have no clue who gives this place more than 3 stars. Food is mediocre and especially in light of the prices which are 2 Michelin star level. $40 pastas, $50 entrees. Staff is nice and drinks are good though.
Over rated , we have been going for years. Always packed good scene , mediocre food at best . The only positive is they are truly local ingredients but you can go to Balsam Farms yourself.
Something is just very off about this place… the service is pretty rude and makes you feel like they are doing you a favor by serving you. Some of the food is good, but we were at a terrible corner of the restaurant with really bad energy and the service all made it a very unenjoyable experience. Would not recommend!
We came to Nick and Toni's tonight with high expectations but unfortunately we got very disappointed. The fig appetizer was so salty that we could not feel the taste of the fig or the prosciutto. The fresh catch fish filet tasted good but was way too small and the side baby eggplants were too bitter to be edible. On the upside, my husband's veal was well-served and the lemon cosmo was good. We were clearly disappointed overall, and there was some but surprising minimal effort from the service to alleviate our disappointment. In retrospect, I regret not going back to East Hampton Grill, where the service was much more attentive and everything we tried was well-served and delicious.
Long time favorite but since we live Southampton we do not take the Big trip and reservations we really hard to get. We did get a reservation and arrived to what appeared to be a totally different place. We sat at a Front table and waited while waiters and busboys, appearing disorganized, walked by as if we were not there. After sampling bad wine and house made sparkling water we decided to leave. Sad to say the Nick and Tony of the Past is no longer !
My husband and I both ordered pasta. The pasta was overcooked (downright mushy) in both dishes, and lacked basic seasoning. I’ve had better pasta at a local pizzeria for far less. Additionally, the service was not great. Drinks, the first order taken of the meal, arrived after we had already eaten our focaccia and salads. Not good. No reason to return.
So disappointed! We celebrated our anniversary here in 2022, had an amazing meal here in early 2023 and then two really terrible meals in 2024 in June and for our anniversary tonight. I think the food quality is markedly different while the prices are even higher. Maybe we are spoiled by Manhattan Italian food, but this place should do better. We won’t be back. Be warned…if you like flavorless, oily food and stale bread enjoy! Service is always nice, but I’d almost rather just have the great food of yore…
I wanted to love it. Service is spectacular. The food is a 2 at best. Jar sauce is better. Cheesecake pasta is better. The penne was coated in oregano. I tried to make sense of the meal but the flavor and quality I can live without. I hope they take this and make better recipes.
We went to Nick & Toni’s for a double birthday dinner, the food was amazing and our waiter was great. However, we had our table for two hours and when I came to the end of our time a manger can over to us an essentially shooing is off the table. I have worked in restaurants and completely understand the pressure of bookings but we were given the dessert menu 10 minutes prior and then an employee very rude taking away our menus (maybe the owner) is not okay! We should have been given the bill, when I spoke to an employee he said ‘it’s up to the server to move you along’ our server was the best! We had a great meal until the end and due to our experience but unfortunately we will not be returning.
A quite lively environment! My experience was ruined by the location of my table. My chair/back was up against the hostess stand, and I was either having to get up to let the staff pass or keep getting bumped against the table as they squeezed pass. The lamb was excellent…the cocktails were great…the desserts—not so much
Went to Nick and Toni‘s for the first time… And the last time. There really isn’t anything good I can say about the place. Everything was way overpriced. $12 for a craft beer in a can. $20 for a glass of wine that was less than half full. Yes it was a big glass but still…The food was mediocre and small portions. 18 muscles in the appetizer. Really? The service wasn’t great. Had to ask for them to put bread on the table. Had to ask for a third set of utensils. Ordered a second beer (before realizing the ridiculous price) and it was never delivered. I asked again and it still wasn’t delivered by the time the check came. The menu was one side of a piece of paper. In other words, little to choose from. Of course the second beer was on the check and had to look around and finally go up to the bar to get someone to remove it. There are so many better restaurants in East Hampton and surrounding villages. Anyone who goes here more then once is probably a Poser…
Terrible service. Food was delish but was definitely not worth waiting 1 hour for it. Drinks including water took 30 minutes. Menus took 25 minutes. Dinner plates not cleared which is unacceptable and waiter took 20 minutes to pick up our credit card so we could pay and get out of there. Table next to us and behind us dealt with same thing. No one is coming back. The only table that didn’t mind was drunk beyond caring. Would give 1/2 Star if possible
What can I say? After a fabulous week on the Hamptons, we book N&T for our last night thinking it would be a great send off as we head to NYC for more (better) fine dining. Our experience at N&T started with a very inexperienced waiter. Not what we would expect of the level of dining we had heard about. We ask to speak to the sommelier twice. I give credit to the waiter for trying to answer our questions...but he gave a very generic response after speaking to the sommelier. On the third request to speak to the sommelier, we finally got a visit to our table. Fast forward, we order wine, order dinner, and patiently wait for bread that we see other table around us enjoying. We ask twice for bread and finally...bread appears. We move on and enjoy our appetizers. They were tasty but the beets in my salad were over cooked and watery. I did not complain, as I find there are few restaurants who bake them to perfection. Fast forward, entrees arrive and we still have app plates on the table. I begin to move them to the floor since we are outdoors and there is no room on our table. Crazy, huh? We all begin to enjoy our entrees and side dishes when one of the guest at our table notices a rather large bug in our side of spinach. I bring this the attention of another server (because our server is not available) and ask to speak to the manager. One of the managers comes to the table and I point out the rather large bug that is oil coated in our side of spinach. She quietly takes the plate away and that was it. We finish our meal and are then presented with the dessert menu. At this point, we are frustrated and at a loss of appetite. We pass on dessert and ask for the bill. The restaurant kindly present biscotti to two gluten free diners. Gee, thanks. This could be a complimentary treat to all tables. We review the bill and they so kindly comp’ed the spinach. At this point in he evening, I am EXTREMELY frustrated. Not one person came to apologize for the kitchen mishap, nor was the offer of dessert given, or anything other than the spinach taken off the bill. Shocking. I then proceed to the hostess stand to speak to a manager. The older woman (wearing all black this particular evening) seemed to listen only in spurts...her attention was interrupted by the passerbys she knew and could air kiss goodbye. After the 4th or 5th air kiss, I finally walked off to the restroom thinking to myself, the main problem in this restaurant is at the management level. I was then followed to the restroom by the manager trying to apologize....a little too late. One of the worse dining experiences we have had on the East Coast...and our dining started in South Carolina at some of the finest restaurants (Husk, Magnolia, and Hall’s to name a few). During our Hampton visit, we have dined at EMP, Cove Hallow, Duryea’s Lobster, Scarpetta’s...just to name a few and the service and the food all exceed what we experienced tonight. If I could give N&T zero stars, I would. We should have gone back to Cove Hollow for another exceptional meal and fabulous service...instead, we paid 375.00 for a below average meal and even poorer service. I would suggest you take your business else where...this restaurant does not deserve you sitting at one of their tables. Enjoy Hampton’s fine dining at another establishment...one who appreciates your business (trust me, there are many)!
The restaurant claims to have curbside pick up. It absolutely does not. I had to brave a crowd of unmasked people during the surge of the Delta variant in Suffolk County just to get my meals. I will not set foot in this place again until covid is long past. Their lack of consideration for vulnerable customers is despicable.🤮🦠
Hazardous service, food is okay. We had a dinner reservation and arrived earlier, Middle Aged blonde woman was at the host stand and asked if we want to be indoor/outdoor. When we asked if we could please check out how we handle the heat at the table outside she said: “You came from outside, right? it feels like where you just came from!” We were appalled at the level of rudeness in her response but proceeded to the table. Our server was courteous, much friendlier but certainly new to the job. He was rumbling, forgot our order. At that point we were FED UP with the inadequate service and decided to leave. Definitely last time we eat there.
My girlfriend and I had a horrible experience, we got sat at the worst table in the house (corner table where everyone passes through the kitchen/ bathrooms) which I wouldn’t mind if we didn’t have a reservation, honestly I would get rid of that table all together and give people more room. Nothing bad to say about the food, although the fried zucchini needs a dipping sauce. Service was horrible, our server (Jessica) was only to be seen twice all night. Drinks arrived after food and Adding insult to injury charged for a stale biscotti dessert we didn’t even ask for. Ps. Fix your chairs or get new ones
I recently dined at Nick & Toni's and unfortunately, I must leave a 1-star review for my experience. While the food was undoubtedly excellent, and the service overall was satisfactory, one incident left a lasting negative impression. During our meal, a waiter carrying a tray of drinks accidentally spilled them all over me and my husband, causing significant damage to our white clothes. We understand that accidents happen, but what truly disappointed us was the unprofessional and indifferent response from the manager. Rather than taking immediate action to rectify the situation or even offering a sincere apology, the manager displayed a complete lack of professionalism. He seemed disinterested and made no effort to address our concerns or compensate us for the damage done to our attire. It was disheartening to witness such a dismissive and unaccommodating attitude, especially from someone in a managerial position. In my opinion, the manager's conduct was entirely unacceptable and raised doubts about his ability to effectively lead and handle customer issues. Customer service is a vital aspect of any establishment, and his lack of concern demonstrated a complete disregard for the well-being and satisfaction of the diners. While the quality of the food at Nick & Toni's is undeniably high, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my experience with their unprofessional and unresponsive manager. Customer satisfaction, especially in the face of mishaps, should be a priority, and unfortunately, this fundamental principle was completely disregarded during our visit. I urge the management of Nick & Toni's to address this issue promptly and institute better measures for handling such incidents in the future. Without improvements to their customer service and managerial professionalism, I believe this establishment falls short of providing a truly enjoyable dining experience. Management Please respond to this review
N&T should be embarassed to have served the meal they did at their "Island" food and wine pairing. Nobody at my table could eat the dried out pork and the desserts were disgusting. The milk pudding was gummy and the cannoli shells were stale and soggy! Trying to have a circulating cocktail hour in the narrow aisles of a small dining room was ridiculous. They should cease doing these dinners--they don't know how to manage or prepare the food professionally.
Nick and Toni's serves foie gras - an item so horrifically cruel, that only the most heartless, self-centered individuals would ever order it. To produce “foie gras” (the French term means “fatty liver”), workers ram pipes down the throats of ducks and geese several times a day in a process known as “gavage.” This force-feeding of excessive amounts of food causes the birds’ livers to swell to up to 10 times their normal size. Many birds have difficulty standing because their engorged livers distend their abdomens, and they may tear out their own feathers and attack each other out of stress. The animals raised for foie gras have such terrible lives, that I would never step foot in a restaurant that serves it.
Went here once before and enjoyed the place. Made a call earlier in the day to reserve a table. The person answering the phone said that the availability was either right now which was around 6pm or 9:30. I told her I would call back once I asked the rest of my party. I called a minute later to say that we would take the right now availability and she told me that the rebook was to 7:30. To most if not anyone that would mean that the next availability was 7:30. When we got there, they would rude saying that we did not have a reservation and the previous people changed to 7:30 so that means we had till 7:30 to get there. Was not even aware there was a second party affecting my reservation. Very dismissive people and were not helpful at all. Better communication on their end is needed.
