Opinions de Vittorio's Restaurant & Wine Bar Amityville
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5‑Star Review for Vittorio’s Restaurant in Amityville, NY Please Note*** I did not get anything free to write this. I just wanted to share my honest thoughts and opinions. Vittorio’s in **Amityville, New York** is hands down my **favorite Italian restaurant on Long Island** — my absolute go‑to spot for authentic, delicious Italian food. Every time I dine here, I’m reminded why this place stands out among all the **top Italian restaurants on Long Island**. If you ever get the pleasure of visiting **Vittorio’s Restaurant & Wine Bar**, I highly recommend trying the **Chicken Scarpiello** — it’s perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and truly one of the best dishes you’ll find anywhere. And if you go on a Sunday, do yourself a favor and order the **Sunday Sauce Pasta** with all the meats. Wow! It’s the kind of meal that makes you feel like you’re sitting at an Italian family table in the heart of Italy. The service here is just as exceptional as the food. Our **server and bartender, Theresa**, was absolutely wonderful. I work late most nights and rarely get the chance to go out for dinner, but thanks to Theresa, we didn’t end up at the diner again. We arrived a little after 8 PM on a Sunday, right as the restaurant was winding down, and she still welcomed us with a smile and seated us without hesitation. Even though the staff was preparing to close, she never rushed us — instead, she made us feel completely at home. Which is pretty unheard of in 2025. I cant tell you how appreciative we are. It’s truly the little things like this that people remember. Other restaurant’s should take note We started with our favorite appetizer, the **fried calamari**, which was crispy, tender, and cooked to perfection. Then came our entrées — rich, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Every bite reminded me why **Vittorio’s Amityville** is truly one of the **best Italian dining experiences on Long Island**. What makes this restaurant even more special is the value. For a **five‑star Italian restaurant**, the portions are generous — you’ll almost always go home with enough for the next day (and maybe even the day after). The food, service, and atmosphere are worth every penny. Vittorio’s is cozy, clean, and welcoming — a true gem on **Broadway in Amityville, NY**. You can taste the passion and care in every dish, and the staff treats you like family. There aren’t many restaurants left that combine **outstanding customer service**, **authentic Italian cuisine**, and a **warm, inviting atmosphere** quite like this one. If I could give them 10 stars, I absolutely would. Thank you, **Theresa and the entire Vittorio’s team**, for another unforgettable dining experience. You’ve earned a lifelong customer.
I haven’t been to Vittorio’s in a few years just because it’s expensive but when I’ve gone, their food/dinner was always amazing. Me and my boyfriend went Sunday for their brunch and our anniversary. 20$ per person for bottomless drinks? Can’t beat that when one drink is almost 20$ lol plus the menu and food was amazing. Our waiter/service was on point too! We will definitely be returning!
We came here with 12 people and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was delicious and satisfying. The portions are huge! So bring your appetite. I believe our waiters name was Andrea, he was very nice and helpful to answer any questions we had. We will definitely be coming back.
Pricey but delicious. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. We were a group of 10. Everyone enjoyed thier meals.
Really enjoyed my experience here. We had a little bit of a delay before we were sat, but the hostess gave our party a $25 coupon off our bill for the wait. The steaks and sides were phenomenal, and the desserts (I had the creme brulee) were great! I definitely recommend going here for a great dinner.
I went here with a group of 8 and it was everyone’s first time here. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and from the moment we arrived we were greeted and the service was phenomenal. Teresa our waitress was amazing. We ordered appetizers which included the mussels, baked clams and fried calamari and all of them were delicious, the calamari was some of the best I’ve had as well as the baked clams. For entrees I got the bone in strip special, and my wife the sea scallops. Both had great flavors and were perfectly cooked. The have quite a number of desserts on the menu and we tried several of them, all tasted great. I have to say this was one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in a while. Everything was high quality and delicious. Definitely recommend!
Vittorio's offers an intimate dining experience with consistently amazing food and drinks. The staff, particularly Leonardo, is friendly and accommodating. With over 10 visits, I appreciate the consistent quality, and reservations are a must due to its popularity. The calamari and sea scallops is a standout, and the chocolate peanut butter dessert is truly to die for! These culinary delights add an extra layer of excellence to Vittorio’s. Looking forward to returning soon!
Excellent restaurant in Amityville Village. All the wait staff are extremely courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable about food & drinks. Weather you go for dinner, lunch, or brunch they have a large selection of great food and drinks. Also, an exceptional amount of cocktails and wine to choose from. We went for brunch but I have only heard good things about the steaks/Chops from here. I would recommend Vittorio’s to anyone looking for a good local meal, and would be a great dinner date night.
Great old school restaurant wonderful service and great tasting food
Perfection! We come here on special occasions for an exceptional dining experience. Dinner last evening was incredible. Tomahawk steak for 2 with creamed spinach snd corn “love”, could not have been better! Service was superb.
Okay,,,just absolutely outstanding ~ The food was delicious…from the opening basket of bread to the entrees to the dessert. Excellent service- Excellent food- Excellent atmosphere-
Lovely place. Amazing food. Love the garganelli with veal and sage ragu. It’s very heavy, but overwhelmingly delicious. My husband had surf and turf, he said the filet mignon was the best he ever had. Super busy place. We could got get a reservation, so we seated at the bar. We came about half past five. By 6 there was no free space even at the bar.
Get on your mark, get set, GO! Don't forget to load up your wallet... This place is expensive, but let me explain. We were four guys celebrating a b/d so we didn't hold back ( see pic of recp't.). Plus this is an Italian Steakhouse, so we had a couple steaks for two (why not) and a few apps and a few sides and a few desserts and last but not least a bunch of cocktails! ( You know what happens to the bill when you start adding in drinks). But the place is fabulous, the decor, low lit kinda cozy atmosphere with great wait service, nice food selection. Let me first say the main course was superb, our steaks [the Porterhouse for two and the special Cowboy Ribeye for two] were cooked perfect, charred just right, med rare inside, and so tasty! Now quick, I can't say enough about our server Leonardo(ask for him if you can). It is not often you'll find a waiter like him; attentive, knowledgeable, pleasant, funny and all with an Italian accent that fits in with the ambiance to make a most enjoyable occasion, which it did for us. The apps, the sides, the desserts were all delicious! Apps: lump crab, calamari arrabiata, oysters... All excellent! The sides: whipped potatoes, brussel sprouts, crispy onions ... All must have and nicely accompanied our steaks. The desserts cream brulee, pistachio gelato, carrot cake... All delish! (the gelato was just as I remember when in Italy) Ahhh now the cocktails, we indulged in a nice variety, they were all so good, and were going down easy and quickly, so we weren't surprised at the bill. Quite frankly you don't mind spending more if the service, food, atmosphere are good and you'll find Vittorio's is better than good... absolutely an excellent experience in all aspects! P.S. the tables were attended to throughout the night, waters filled plates cleared, table cleaned...a nice treat.
Everything was very nice! Didn’t take pix of dessert but the chocolate with peanut butter was amazing and the cheese steak soup was fabulous!
One of the best rib eyes I have ever had. We ordered two potato sides and to be honest we could have one gotten one as they were generously sized. The wedge salad was delicious and so was the chocolate dessert. We truthfully do not have one bad thing to say about our meal. We will be back!
SOOOO DELISH!!! Came here for dinner with the FAM! Food was SOOOO GOOD!! ~ we ordered appetizers ~ crabmeat and the tuna! For dinner~ veal, lambchops, scallops, branzino, pasta (with a truffle sauce) and a Cajun pasta dish! It was ALL SOOOO GOOD! Plus for cocktails~ the snowbird (vodka 🙋♀️) for me, Malbec for the table and my hunnnies had his Jack and coke! Pics may seem a bit dark as it was dark in there! DEF RECOMMEND! 💓👍🏻💓👍🏻💓
Valentines Day dinner. No wait for our reservation. Beautifully decorated. Our waiter Leonardo was wonderful. Food was spectacular Everything was tasty fresh and cooked perfectly highly recommend.
Great service above all
Vittorio's was excellent. Haven't been in some time, but it was just a good as I remember. Apologies for the dark pics!
service and ambiance was great. Liked how many menu options there are. Grilled octopus appetizer and sirloin steak were well cooked and delicious. Didn’t feel rushed and food came out appropriately timed. will certainly be back!
It was an absolute joy to decorate for a recent baby shower at the wonderful Vittorio's! The restaurant provided such a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere, which made our job as decorators even more delightful. From the moment we arrived, the staff at Vittorio's were incredibly accommodating and helpful. The space itself was perfect for the celebration, offering a charming backdrop that truly enhanced our decorations. We received so many compliments on how lovely everything looked, and a huge part of that success was due to the fantastic venue. Vittorio's is the spot to make a memorable and picture-perfect event!
Great service as always! Pleasant atmosphere as usual and amazing food as it should be 👍🏼. Thank you guys for staying in business!
Birthday Celebration, party of Ten. The Staff and Service was Excellent, from start to finish. The Food Was Amazing and Delicious. A little pricey, but it was worth it.
We had a celebration of life family gathering here and the food was awesome from crab cakes to calamari appetizers and Ceasars salad to bone in ribeye and porterhouse for one to scallops, to lobster and shrimp, parpadell to salmon. Everyone loved the food and service Especially Simone
Wow! Was brought here by a buddy of mine who is local to the area for lunch. Started with the seafood tower which was outstanding. Followed that up with the surf and turf salad with ahi tuna replacing the steak and closed it out with a Cheesesteak. Forget Philly. This place has the best Cheesesteak around!
This place is excellent. I had the NY strip steak with sauteed broccoli and roasted potatoes. My kids each had rib eye with garlic mashed potatoes and my fiancee had the lobster and shrimp. Everything was excellent and our waiter, David, was incredibly polite and kind as well as on point with his knowledge of the dishes and specials. The prices for the size of steak that you get as well as the quality is very, very comparable to a "specialty" steak house. All in all I highly recommend this place.
Family-oriented and friendly. Food is always amazingly delicious. Definitely recommended for any occasion, big or small.
I have eaten at Vittorios on many special occasions. The food is fresh, prepared perfectly, and always delicious. The waiters and staff are friendly and top notch. Their specials are plentiful and unique. We always have an enjoyable time at Vittorios.
Amazing Food! Ambience was perfect! Staff and service was 100%! Love this spot! Will be going here more often!
Another excellent experience of dining at this establishment. Good food, good service and a pleasant low key vibe makes for a memorable time. As every time that I eat here it’s busy make sure to make a reservation.
Beautiful decor and atmosphere. Most delicious food, tastes like it’s from Italy. The staff is very courteous and professional. What a gem!
Excellent brunch spot, in addition to dinner (or really, anytime they're open).
Simone was our server and he was AMAZING!!! Invest in the bottomless brunch. It's worth it. The food was great as well!
Can’t say enough good things about Vittorio’s! We made the trip to Amityville from about 30 minutes away and it was well worth it. The inside of the restaurant has beautiful exposed brick and gives off a wonderful atmosphere, the service was extraordinary (thank you, Andrea!) and the food was fantastic. Especially the veal parm! There were plenty of gluten free options as well (be sure to ask), including some of the best gluten free calamari I’ve ever had. We will definitely be back!
Excellent service. Thank you Leonardo you are the best. Great food and drink.
Absolutely a wonderful dining experience. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The food was delicious, especially the octopus.
Great dinner in Long Island! Had the haddock over lobster risotto. Delicious!
I’ve always heard great things about this place and it did not disappoint. Food was incredible….the crab cocktail appetizer and marinated skirt steak were both sooooo delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly and portions on everything were generous. Cocktails were amazing as was the service from Theresa!
My first time there with my girlfriend for her birthday. We both are gluten free, I have celiac disease but read that they are very safe to eat at their restaurant. There menu items is not marked gluten free but out server was very know about what and what not to order. We started off with fried calamari for an app. It was absolutely delicious and not chewy at all. Main course my girlfriend got the Halibut and I got the NY strip steak cooked medium rare with garlic spinach and roasted potatoes in a truffle Parmesan cheese. Steak was cooked on point and it had to weight 3 lbs if not more. I was ate the whole steak but it definitely took some time. Everything was so so good. We were stuffed. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert.
Four of us went for hubby's birthday. First time here. Nice atmosphere. Jesse, our waiter, was super sweet and very attentive. Drinks were fine. Apps: grilled octopus and garden salad. Both were fine. Not the best we ever had, not the worst.. Just average.. Main courses : Chicken Scarpiello, LOVED! Super flavorful.. Pork Chops: cooked exactly as I asked, super thick, moist and delicious! My SIL and I shared the Salmon with broccoli and string beans.. I always order my meals "no oil, no butter, no salt" because when you eat out often, there is a ton of butter and salt in everything! We didn't care for the salmon. It was not the freshest piece. My husband even said.. "I can smell that from here." Jesse was great and took it off the bill. Dessert: cheesecake (creamy.. Melted in your mouth yummy & creme bulee (too cold and not a thick crust on top) All in all a very nice place. I wouldn't object to coming back a second time but I wouldn't run, either.
Service was good. Food was decent but not great. The fried calamari was our favorite. The pasta was overly greasy and our steak was burnt around the edges. Once you have the singed taste in your mouth the whole experience is ruined. Not sure why it was overly charred like that at a “steakhouse”.
First visit to this upscale Italian establishment, and I approached it with appropriately elevated expectations given the premium pricing. When you're paying this much, there's definitely a higher bar to clear. Food 3/5 - The kitchen demonstrated solid technical execution across our order. We shared the Garganelli and Chicken Scarpariello, both delivering on flavor profiles you'd expect from an Italian steakhouse. However, the portion sizes were genuinely overwhelming - not in a celebratory way, but in that immediate "this is going to be a chore" realization. The Chicken Scarpariello especially seemed designed to feed a small family. While some diners might appreciate the generous approach, it actually detracted from the dining experience as we knew from the moment plates arrived that we'd be boxing most of it up. The food itself was flavorful and well-prepared. No digestion issues. Service 3/5 - Mixed bag here. Our initial greeting felt perfunctory, and there was a notable delay before our server made his first appearance. Once he arrived, his menu knowledge was solid and he handled the specials explanation competently. The real issue emerged during our meal when he would disappear for extended periods - not because he was busy, but because he'd get caught up in lengthy conversations (easily 10+ minutes) with tables where he clearly knew the guests personally. This happened multiple times throughout our dinner, leaving us sitting waiting for checks, another rounds of drinks, etc. At this price point, that level of inattentiveness is particularly unacceptable. Credit where due: the person handling water service and table maintenance were consistently on point. Ambiance 4/5 - They've created a comfortable dining environment here. Music selection and volume hit the sweet spot - present but not intrusive. The layout works well with appropriately spaced tables and an attractive small bar area upfront. No complaints on the atmosphere front. Cleanliness 5/5 - Clean operation throughout. Bathroom was well-maintained, and the dining areas passed even the most critical inspection. Clear attention to detail in this department. Parking 3/5 - Small lot behind the restaurant that was nearly at capacity on a Tuesday evening around 5pm. We managed to snag one of the last spots, but it could easily become problematic for unfamiliar visitors. Street parking exists, though availability varies. Be prepared to look around and give yourself some time to do that. Value 2/5 - This is where things fall apart. While the meal wasn't objectively bad, it absolutely didn't justify the premium pricing. When your least expensive dry-aged strip steak runs about $70, the execution needs to be transcendent - and it simply wasn't. The oversized portions don't add value in my book; I'd much rather see them reduce both portion sizes and prices to create a more reasonable value proposition. Overall 3/5 - Vittorio's delivers a competently executed dining experience that doesn't quite live up to its price point. Service was disappointing, and nothing was memorable enough to justify the premium either. For a special occasion with people who prioritize large portions, it might work, but there are better values in the local dining scene. I doubt I'll be returning.
We’ve been going to this restaurant about once every month to once every other month for about a 10 years.. The steaks are normally delicious but tonight they were very chewy and not charred on the outside like they normally are. They just didn’t taste as good at all. My cocktail wasn’t even the same either. I usually get the Vittorio’s Secret. My husband’s cocktail came in a chipped glass. We ordered the cheesecake for dessert with a side of vanilla gelato and they gave us pistachio gelato instead. It was actually very good but It’s a good thing neither of us had nut allergies! We also got seated by the entranceway which was extremely loud with the noise from in the bar and busy traffic in and out bringing drinks. I thought being a regular for so many years we’d have a better table. It’s usually one of our favorite places, but after dropping $400 with tip, very disappointed this time.
Confusing meal! No time to look at menu, and waiter didn’t let me read it he just kept telling me what to order. Got calimari which was good but then they started to clear it and the plates before we were even finished. Veal parm was somehow both overcooked and undercooked. The meat was dead and chewy, tasted like an overcooked steak with chewy fatty bits. Mozzarella was barely melted and had nearly no browning. It was really clear they were trying to rush our food out and rush us out the door. One of the worst meals I’ve had in recent memory. Bonus points for the waiter who spilled water all over my leg every time he refilled my water. Place was packed, which was the most confusing part.
I have been going there for 20 yrs but the last three times we have been disappointed. Paid $ 18.00 for a side of steak fries that were so hard I couldn’t stick my fork into one. The steak was ok but no better than Texas Roadhouse which is half the price. We ordered lobster tail which was served in a terrible tasting sauce and all chopped up and the Caesar salad was not very good either. This is it for us, three strikes and your’e out.
My friend and I were really looking forward to dining here after hearing so many great recommendations, but unfortunately, the experience was completely soured by the woman working that evening—Theresa. From the phone call to when we arrived, her attitude was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. We called ahead to let them know we were running late due to an accident—something completely out of our control—and were met with a harsh tone and zero understanding. When we got there, we were told to order immediately with no warmth or hospitality. We completely understand arriving close to kitchen closing time isn’t ideal, but there’s a respectful way to communicate with guests. Sadly, the energy and customer service ruined what we were hoping would be a great night out.
I've been dying to try this place for years..Finally went on a whim Saturday night..got a table right away. ..menues took a lot longer to get. Service was mediocre at best.. What really disappointed me is the food.. Appetizer short rib was tasty. main courses which were generous were just eh.. I wanted melt in my mouth delicious and this is was not. pasta eh and the veal dish was so dry even though it was buried in cheese. I waited so many years to try and I wished it was better.
We have been dining here for many years and enjoy DINNER. So very disappointed with BRUNCH. The Reuben was hard and corned beef was so thick, fatty & “old”. The 1/2 slice of Swiss cheese was not even melted. Eggs Benedict ….awful. Could not cut the hard English muffin at all. The 2 slices of fruit were swimming in the hollandaise sauce and the potatoes were hard and black. Spoke to the manager and he said “it happens!” His attitude was worse than the meal. Our server was very apologetic and understanding. I never write a negative review b/c second chances are nicer but this manager needs a lesson in kindness. He did remove the meals from the bill
Very disappointing - not like it used to be at all! Was very excited to eat back here since I haven't been in a while and when I used to go I enjoyed. From first walking in there was a funky smell at the bar area, then no table cloths that evening took away from the dining room, lip stick on water glass, server seemed like serving us was a bother to him as he recited specials quickly and constantly looking elsewhere. The app specials were good, artichokes and tuna tartar, entrees were terrible. Server replaced my knife and almost dropped on the table, sea bass was flavorless except a slight fish smell, shrimp were boiled, plain and chewy. Stuffed lobster tail - sauce was good, but smothered in it and also same shrimp. Bread and oil was good. Was happy to see crème brûlée cheesecake which wasn't truly that - it was just cheesecake with roasted sugar. Very unfortunate and very disappointing
We have been here three times with our service dog. Enjoyed it very much… Until today when we were turned away because we had a service dog. We were told by the hostess, who was made to turn us away by the snotty manager, that the waiter is allergic to dogs. Well, he must have developed that allergy in the last two weeks because we were there two weeks ago and he did not have an allergy then. Why not let someone else serve us if that was the truth? What if a waiter with nut allergies had to serve food that may contain nuts? Utterly unacceptable and actually against the law to discriminate against patrons with service dogs… not to mention sad and disgusting as well.
