Opinions de Ilio Dipaolo's Buffalo
I just celebrated my 62nd birthday here, I’ve been dining here since I was 16! We moved out of the country and then relocated to Rochester. We came all the way to Buffalo to celebrate once again with our best friends because I love it here so much. So much history and memories for me in this place, still miss Ilio-great man, amazing restaurant.
We had a fantastic Christmas party here. The staff were wonderful, attentive and friendly.
Have you tried one of Ilio DiPaolo's family packs for takeout? If not, you need to!!! Sooo good! We had family pack #3, which included a pizza, wings, Penne Pasta and Antipasta. We had 6 people share it and there is plenty for a second meal for all of us. And it was absolutely delicious!!!
Awesome waitress, excellent Veal Parm, fantastic service. Owner/ manager went from table to table asking how everything went. You rarely see that anymore !!! I can't wait to go back. Ilio Dipalo,s is 5 Star in all categories !!!!
Was at a wedding anniversary here. The staff was wonderful atmosphere was great very clean. And the food. I am still thinking about thoes stuffed shells with Alfredo sause. Every bite was delicious and even after I was full I was wishing I had more.
Had a party of 18 for a surprise B Day dinner and everything was top notch!
Came here specifically for the flights, and they did not disappoint. Martini flight was on point and had every food flight they had to offer minus the cannoli and gluten-free. Sat at the bar, and the bartenders were great, as was the owner, who came and talked to us. Also, the boxer figures they use as drink back-ups may be my favorite things ever!
This is one of the best Italian Restaurant in Buffalo area. The Pasta is very good, homemade sauce. I had a steak very juicy, flavor was good by proper seasoning. Waiter was awesome fast, bright, and attentive. Met the owner in suite and tie. Think he is the son of Ilio. He wanted to know if everything was ok? He was sharp, good looking and well spoken. If you read this, you must try this restaurant. You won't be disappointed. Mangia Mangia GO BILLS
Amazing food. And amazing service. Highly recomend
Have been coming here since I was a kid, my Grandfather was good friends with Ilio up until his passing. The food is always consistent (and good), great atmosphere and ambiance. Always look forward to coming back.
I was up in Western NY visiting family from SWFL. Down here we do not have little neighborhood joints actually in the neighborhood. Up here, they are everywhere. This was my last venture out before I had to fly back here. I let Grandma choose and she suggested this place. She knows I love history and professional wrestling so she was like, "let's go to Ilio DiPaolo's." At first I didn't recognize the name and then I did and was like. Yes... Let's... We were really just in the mood for pizza/wings, since it was my last night. So I apoligize to the DiPaolo's that we didn't order any of the cusine, which did look like if one could actually eat heaven. The food was amazing. Both my 92 year old Grandmother and my Mother loved the PIZZA here. I did too, but they just really emphized that. Service was great. Atmosphere is right out of one of those old Italian style movies. I will visit this place again upon my next visit and I will try the cusine...
An amazing selection , with fantastic service . A true Buffalo , NY treasure !!!
Best sauce in Buffalo as well as the staff and service. A must if just visiting Buffalo
I came here with a large group of about 20 for a surprise party for my 86 year old grandfather. My grandmother expressed how helpful and accommodating the staff was ever since she called to set the event up. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the atmosphere, pictures on the walls, different rooms and whole ambiance. Our two servers (Amanda and Tyler I believe) were amazing the whole time! Everyone in our party was so impressed with how patient and spot on they were with everything. Being a server myself I understand how hectic it can get especially with a larger party who is all ordering different drinks, allergen needs, and older guests who might not be able to hear the best haha. They worked together so seamlessly and did it with a smile. I would definitely recommend for larger parties and will be returning!!
Had a rehearsal dinner in the Buffalo banquet dinning room, the wait staff was amazing, the food was phenomenal, I don't think I had to wait more than 2 minutes for anything I asked for and we had about 20 people with our group, the restaurant was also packed. The owner stopped in the say hi twice and check on us as well. Highly recommend
Did take-out today. Have dined in many times. Excellent food and experience every time.
Kallie was our server and did a magnificent job. There were 10 of us and she was attentive and her service was excellent. The food was delicious. One of favorite places to go. We weren’t able to make our reservation last December due to the storm but will definitely will keep in mind for next December.
This place has been a great place for my family for years. Tonight we did a family girls night for flight night had a great time. While waiting I had a Great time at the bar with Angela she is a 10 star bartender in every way! She made my night totally thank you! Will be back to she her!
I had their Easter brunch, and the food was outstanding. Compared to the Italian restaurants in Chicago, the prices are quite reasonable. The service was exceptional! If you ever come to this part of NY, go to this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
The staff was efficient and polite. The food order was delivered promptly and hot items were hot. Everything was delicious! Great food all around.
I came here with my aunt and my wife for just a dinner. I've had lots of family come to this place and say they've enjoyed it so, I took their advice and came. I LOVE how the place is decorated all with Ilio himself. I also love how it's owned by the same family. I really liked our server Kaitlyn as she was very respectful, quick, and very caring for our table and made the experience worth it! I loved how Dennis, the owner, came out and served my wife and my aunt first, me being a man, that was awesome. He didn't even have to ask who's was what order, he just knew... which I think is very high class of him and very respectful to serve the women first. Very kind person, and the food was definitely worth the price. If you eat a lot like me and also want some good meat, the Calabrese platter was exceptional and worth every penny. I was offered onions and mushrooms for my Filet Mignon on my platter, i had it....it tasted AMAZING. I will be 100% recommending this place to anyone who wants authentic Italian, how wants a homie but classy feel, and who wants to feel taken care of. Thank you DiPaolo family AND Kaitlyn for such a wonderful Sunday and I will be returning whenever I come to Buffalo.
Years ago I got caught in a blizzard, petrified and unable to see. I was just able to pull into Ilio DiPaolo's frantic. The staff was so extremely nice. The waitress I don't remember her name this was many many years ago but I remember she had dirty blonde hair and was already up in age. I don't remember what I ate but I remember I was starving and frazzled. Whatever I ate it was completely on the house. The owner paid for it. My mind is saying lasagna, but maybe it was spaghetti and meatballs. I can't remember but I think it was lasagna. This is the perfect example of Buffalo excellence and Buffalonians helping other Buffalonians. I also barely knew my way around when the blizzard had occurred. I should've wrote this review a lot sooner, thanks Ilio DiPaolo's from one Italian to another. Update- I have been back to Ilio's multiple times including twice for my Dad's birthday
My boyfriend and I went here for dinner tonight and after the fair and I have the gluten-free spaghetti Parm with the salad it was amazing. It’s probably the best gluten-free pasta I’ve ever had a great restaurant. Great service. Look forward to going back.!!
Excellent dinner from Ilio DiPaolos last night! We got take-out. Great food and very friendly staff. Thank you!
We love the family favorites menu options! It is so much food, we invite my in-laws over to enjoy the meal with us. The food is delicious. And every employee is always kind and courteous at pick-up. I’ve enjoyed Ilio’s for takeout and dine-in, and they never disappoint!
This was my first time here! Fantastic food! Awesome service! The atmosphere was perfect! It was so nice to have the owner stopping at the tables to see if everything was good. It was my birthday, so I was surprised by the restaurant with a special dessert, along with a round of the birthday song! Absolutely a must for lunch/dinner. Highly recommended. Thank you for making it a wonderful evening!
Wonderful dining experience. Service was great even when it started to get busier. Our waitress was very knowledgeable & friendly & we never had to wait for anything. Had stuffed shells with meat sauce & added 2 meatballs. Delicious! Everyone in our party was very pleased with their meals & had a take home box as the portions were generous. Clean bathrooms & warm atmosphere! Definitely going back!
I recently had the opportunity to dine at Ilio's for a funeral lunch. The service was fast, and the food was delicious and hot! Thank you for helping make this part of our family friend's day run smoothly.
Awesome Italian restaurant! Good menu selections, great service, great atmosphere! Came on a Sunday night and had the (2) for $34.99 complete meals. The meal comes with cup of soup, salad, entree, and coffee from the selection sheet. We had chicken marsala and chicken abbruuza. The meals came with selection of roasted red potatoes or pasta with choice of sauces and vegetables. Everything on the menu was outstanding, from the soup, to the coffee, and everything in-between! The owner stopped by to ask how everything was. His father was the wrestler that is featured in photos throughout the restaurant. Five stars!!
My Mother MaryLynn and husband help their wedding here. OUR servers were amazing. Not only friendly and professional but on top of everything for a great experience. Our food was delicious and Hot, Prime Rib Delicious. The management ( Dennis and Ilio) checked and were very friendly. This place really knows what their doing. Everything was handled with care. Much Love. Joel Ech!
Jan 19 we had a small wedding reception for 22 people. Dennis and his staff provided us an amazing evening with 5 star service and incredible food. A special shout-out to Brendan our bartender/server/busser. He was polite, engaging, respectful and bent over backwards for any requests made of him. I would strongly recommend Ilio's for a reception large or small. Thank you Dennis and staff.
We had an exceptional dining experience tonight, thanks to the exceptional customer service from everyone we encountered. Gina, our server, was fantastic! The food was delicious as well. It was a delightful evening with friendly people.
Husband and I attended a banquet style dinner for the annual fundraiser "Godfather night" the chicken piccata was delicious! It was a very fun night and I would absolutely recommend using their larger room for an event!
We held a Celebration of Life catered lunch for my late brother at Ilio DiPaolo's. Our event room was beautifully decorated, the food was delicious, and the staff was professional and courteous.
You will not be disappointed going to this restaurant! The food is amazing, it’s always prepared fast and exactly the way you want it. The service is unbeatable also, the waitresses are always very friendly and the two times we’ve been here the owner came by to have a chat with us and went by to the other tables too (which you never see at other chain restaurants) I highly recommend Illio DiPaolo’s for your next Italian food craving, you will not be disappointed!
We recently held a banquet at Lilo Disposal in Buffalo to honor the life of my late great aunt, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. The space was clean, welcoming, and perfect for the occasion—quiet, respectful, and thoughtfully arranged for our family and friends to gather and remember her. The food was surprisingly excellent. It was a full three-course meal that felt home-cooked with care. It started with a fresh salad, followed by pasta that was cooked just right—not overdone, and served with a nice light sauce. The main course was chicken parmesan with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. The chicken was tender, the breading was crisp but not greasy, and the sauce and cheese on top were flavorful without overpowering the dish. Even the mashed potatoes had that comforting, buttery texture that reminded me of holiday dinners. To finish, we were served a lovely cake—simple but delicious. It was a perfect ending to a meal that really brought people together. Everything from the service to the pacing of the meal made it feel like more than just a catered event—it felt personal. I’m grateful we chose this venue. It truly helped us celebrate her memory with warmth and dignity.
Wait staff was professional and attentive. Food is high quality and reasonably priced. I shall return!
Our service was wonderful but they had a banquet for Christmas going in so our dinner experience was a little loud
Ilio DiPaolo's never disappoints! The food is always amazing. We've ordered so many times and whatever we order is always delicious, fresh and hot. We've taken advantage of the Family Favorite deals too. There so much food at a reasonable price. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. I just can't say enough about them.
Ordered the family pack. Everything was delicious except for the beans. Maybe some people love them, definitely too soft and mushy for us. Everything else 10/10.
Hosted an anniversary dinner for my parents at the restaurant last night and they exceeded my expectations! Not only was the food delicious as always, the service was incredible( thank you Paige!) Everyone went above and beyond for us!! Highly recommend!
Let me start with the fact that the restaurant stands true to its ratings. The food was delicious, the portions were big and the service was exceptional. I love Italian food and was particularly craving ravioli. This place has the best ravioli, you have to try the lobster one and the cheese ones. For anyone visiting from out of town, try this place. They have a great menu and the ambiance is amazing.
This is an excellent restaurant. Very clean and good service. Alex was fantastic and when the owner of the restaurant comes around to greet you, you know you are in good hands. The stuffed shells were fabulous and the price is incredibly reasonable. Also love the tall private booths and the homage to the history. 10/10 will return
The owner is great! Our server was excellent. The food was very good. The portions are huge, the potatoes were over cooked, veggies were good. We had linguini in red sauce with a meatball and chicken Abruzzi. We had a nice evening with friends, and the owner, who knew a couple members of our group, gave us a tasting of the homemade limoncello, it was delicious! We would dine here again!
Fabulous. Recently renovated, it was a charming atmosphere. Friendly service and fresh high quality ingredients. We enjoyed a salad and chicken pot pie soup to start. My mom, who is very picky about good food loved the soup! Lots of chicken and veggies full of flavor. My salad was good - fresh and a nice variety of ingredients - even had radicchio! We had the home made ravioli and lasagna. Half portions - which were perfect for lunch. Both were delicious. A nice place for lunch or dinner….looked like they had a nice selection of wines also…
Flight Night - absolutely delicious food, friendly & thoughtful service, and great company made for a fantastic night! I got the ravioli flight that came with a choice of soup or salad. We also got bruschetta and bread with oil or butter. Best bruschetta I’ve ever had! And I loved the flight so I could try a little bit of everything.
Had my son’s graduation party on Friday night. I couldn’t be happier. The food was amazing, the staff did everything to make our night unforgettable. Illio, himself stopped over to make sure our night was everything we wanted. I highly recommend!!! Professional. Kind. Helpful. Amazing food. You can tell they treat the employees well. It shines through in everything. Thank you!!
Gina, our server, and the rest of the staff did a fantastic job. The food was fabulous as well. We will be back.
My family were celebrating a surprise 50th anniversary party for my wife's parents here. The service was beyond exceptional and very friendly. The food was very delicious too. Food was buffet style with pasta, mixed vegetables, potatoes, stuffed beef rollups, and chicken. I highly recommend visiting here for get togethers such as showers, wedding receptions, and other similar celebrations.
I've been enjoying the food from this establishment for over 30 years! Met ilio before his passing, know the family now, Dennis, ilio,.and the quality and customer service has always came 1 St! I recommend everything on menu! Not only is this a famous Italian restaurant but they never say no to the american legion down the street on electric ave post 1449! Not enough I can say about Dennis and his son ilio with how they take care of everyone in the whole area whenever asked! Hats off to a deserved recognition!
Ilio DiPaulo’s is a must-visit for anyone in Buffalo! We visited from out of town as a group of six, and they welcomed us in at a table without reservations. Shortly after we sat down, Dennis came over to our table to greet us, and instantly, he made us feel like family. He was very personable and told us the history of his family restaurant. Kaitlyn, our server was fantastic and she gave us great food recommendations. Finally, the food and wine was incredible. Each of us loved our meals and we could not recommend this place enough to anyone in the Buffalo area. Grazie!
My Best Lady and I went here tonight for my birthday dinner. My birthday is tomorrow, however I'm watching the Bills and other football tomorrow, Sunday! So tomorrow was off the table. LOL! Anyway the Food was amazing and the service was outstanding! I highly recommend it! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Call ahead for the weekend and make a reservation!
We just celebrated my 40th birthday there in March in the Buffalo room, enjoyed there Easter buffet in April and this past weekend we had my son's communion luncheon there. Not only is the food top notch but there service is as well. We have frequented Ilio's many times over the years, and never had a less then great experience. The atmosphere is so warm and friendly. Dennis is so kind, and makes every attempt to stop to say hi to as many of his guests as he can. The two female servers that were working my sons communion luncheon were so sweet and on top of every detail, which really allowed me to enjoy the afternoon with my family and friends. Just love this place and it is such a staple in the community.
My friends group went last night for the flight special and I just have to say our waitress Gina was 10/10 amazing! We absolutely loved her and the girl she was training! We can’t wait to come back again!
Great place for a nice Italian meal with a family feel. Large group of ten of us and food was all great. Tried both the Italian Wedding and French Onion Soups and both were good. I personally had the Veal Parmigiana, it was cooked perfectly and the red sauce is great. Sweet but not too sweet. Large portions at decent prices. It’s cool to see all the wrestling paraphernalia on the walls. I would recommend this restaurant when in the Buffalo area. I’ve been here multiple times.
A family favorite for years - tonight was our first time back since Covid and I was so happy to find everything the same, from the service, to the drinks, to the food. Our waitress Lindsay was phenomenal and the food is just as good as I remember - if not better! While certainly a littler pricier than other restaurants, we think its worth every penny and we're much happier spending it here than at an Italian chain. The portions are huge and the quality is unmatched. Also, I really can't think of any other restaurant where the owner comes out to stop at every table, and that alone makes this place a little more special, because it shows they really care about everyone's experience.
Lived in Western New York all my life and went here for the first time over the weekend to celebrate my birthday. Always wanted to go. It was such an amazing experience, the wait staff was incredible and friendly. The way all restaurants should be run! Mr. DiPaolo himself came to our table to greet us, and our waiter was second to none. He even boxed up our food for us and labeled the containers to say what they are. When they learned it was my birthday, they surprised me with a very well- rehearsed Happy Birthday song and cake with a candle on it. Like for real, they were in perfect harmony! The food was absolutely incredible, each of us got an entree and we all left with plenty of leftovers to feed us for the next day. Every single person I saw leave the restaurant, left with leftovers. The portions are huge and definitely worth the money! This place has gained another fan. 😊
We ordered a Family Favorite meal to go. The portions were very generous and each was delicious! We have picky eaters who happily devoured dinner. 😍 There's something for everyone in the FF and the leftovers will make not cooking twice extra nice. My favorite was the baked ziti with cheese. Thank you Ilio's!
We drove over an hour from Rochester for Flight Night and it was absolutely worth the trip. Even though we showed up earlier than our 7 PM reservation, the staff seated us quickly and set the tone for a great night. But the true standout of the entire experience? Gina. She was genuinely phenomenal. Her energy, her explanations, her timing… she paced each course perfectly so we could enjoy every flight without feeling rushed. She was warm, fun, and honestly one of the best servers we’ve ever had. We even asked to speak to the owner just to compliment her because she made the night unforgettable. Now for the food — we tried a lot, and it was such a fun way to sample the menu. Drinks: The Martini Flight and Cello Flight were both hits. Everything was delicious, and the fall-themed flavors? So good. My personal favorite was the Pumpkin Spice martini <3 Appetizers: The French Onion Soup and Caesar Salad were incredible. Meatball Flight: All three meatballs were good. For me personally, the red sauce leaned a bit acidic — totally a preference thing — but my friend loved it, so it really depends on your palate. Pasta Flight: Same story with the red sauce for me, just not my personal taste. But the Alfredo? Amazing. And the pesto was one of my absolute favorites of the night. Chicken Breast Flight: This was the only course that didn’t fully land for me. I actually liked the Abruzzo, and my friend really enjoyed the buffalo chicken. The only actual miss was the chicken parmigiana cut. It seemed like we just got a one-off bad piece; when I cut into it, the texture felt off and chewing it was… not great. But we didn’t even bother mentioning it because everything else was so wonderful, and it didn’t detract from the overall experience at all. Dessert: The Cannoli Flight was amazing. My friend loved the classic, we both adored the caramel apple, and the pumpkin was my personal winner — it tasted exactly like pumpkin cheesecake. I LOVE pumpkin, so it was perfect. And the Amaretto Cherry Gelato? Heavenly. Smooth, refreshing, and the perfect palate cleanser to end the night on. Overall, we had such a great experience that we’re already talking about coming back. The food, the drinks, the pacing, the vibes, and especially Gina made it a fantastic night out. Highly recommend making the trip; we’ll definitely be returning!
I’m not one to do reviews but here we go… first time last night and let me say…WOW. My girlfriend and I had our second anniversary there and let me say it was an absolute pleasure. We both had the prime rib, banana peppers, shrimp…my goodness everything food wise was just delightful. If there’s a way to sell this place I’d say it’s on its service. The owner himself made rounds and made every single person in the house feel as if they were family. Our server Gina, simply spectacular. She was authentic and knew the menu like the back of her hand. Not only did she orchestrate our way around the menu with nothing less than perfection, she was also able to turn me on to not one but two wines when I’m a beer guy!!! She made us feel loved and warm, and at the end of the meal we revealed it was our anniversary and we were gifted a bottle of champagne. Bravo to the entire staff I’ve never had a dining experience quite like this. Thank you to keeping my love of the world of culinary arts and hospitality a great reminder that there’s always hope for a new and unfamiliar exciting night out. Cheers to Gina and the entire staff here’s to many more!
It's always so cozy here during the holiday season. The staff dresses in their holiday attire, wreathes and twinkle lights throughout the restaurant, holiday music playing. They also have the best chicken Marsala and red sauce in all of WNY!
Phenomenal Food ..We got the family favorite #2 meal to go ..the portions are huge..the salad was very very fresh. The chicken was very meaty and very tender flavorful. The rigatoni the noodles were cooked prefect. The green beans OMG they were excellent. My family really enjoyed everything.
No matter what you order, it will be delicious. The service is polite and the manager circulates to make sure everything is going well. We had to wait over 15 minutes after our reservation time to actually be seated is the only criticism. Their sauce is perfect and they have a great fish fry!
Not even sure where to start. This place exceeded every expectation we had. Absolutely wonderful experience from beginning to end! Our waitress Gina was incredible- our drinks never went dry, she was so attentive, knowledgeable and charismatic! The crab cakes were delicious and we agreed that the filets and alfredo sauce were some of the best we've ever had. They even brought out a complimentary tuxedo cake for my birthday at the end of our meal, a very thoughtful touch. We will absolutely be making the 3 hour round trip from Rochester just to come back!
First time ever being there after hearing so many great things. Kind of a family style Italian restaurant trying to give off a little more of an upscale feel. Kind of caught in between. There's a bar area but they have separated it well from the restaurant. Service was fantastic. Both our servers were so kind and friendly and checked on us regularly. Food was alright. Nothing insane but good size portions. Would eat there again. Thank you guys!
A neighborhood staple. I came to have dinner with a friend the other night. They have a huge menu “classic” Italian American food. Everything was fine. Good service and food was prepared correctly. I have a hard time with it because it’s not where I would choose to go. Everything is standard and run of the mill, but usually done pretty well. You know what to expect when you go there but nothing really stands out or is that memorable. I had a wine flight which was a nice offering that is new since I was last there. 3 X 3oz pours, which was generous. I had the gluten free pasta broccoli with shrimp and a side of vodka sauce on top. I did have some home made gelato for dessert, which was pretty impressive. If you go, try the salted caramel. All was prepared fine and had good flavor. I’m just not up at night dreaming about going back. They do have a nice gluten free offering for those that need it. Not a bad choice if you are in the area and need a place to eat. Just in my opinion not a destination.
Had a small Banquet Party here for our Chorus Group. The food was just fine, the server was outstanding! He did everything for 45 people and nobody waited for anything...
First time going to this restaurant. It was a really nice place. Very relaxing. I ordered the Cajun combo with chicken and shrimp. We also got the lasagna dinner and eggplant parm. The sauce is on the sweeter side but not too sweet. For dessert, we got two cannolis and a piece of tiramisu cake. Everything was just fine. Our waitress was Hannah, and she was great . If you're in the area, I would tell you to definitely try this place.
We stopped in for the dinner for two special. We didn't have reservations, but the wait wasn't long. The food was delicious! Wine, pop, coffee, rolls with butter and oil, salad, soup, 2 entrees all included. It was a really good deal. They have a plentiful menu. The waitress was okay. Attentive but not super friendly but I can't complain. We'll be back!
I got the Broiled fish fry tonight. And it tasted boiled (very watery), bland and they squeezed a good amount of lemon juice on it. I told the waitress, and Alex was very nice about it.
We were in a separate room which was very cool. Disappointed in the check. A $4 kitchen appreciation fee was added. Please pay your staff better if you the owner think they deserve more. Don't charge this to your customers. And the recommended tips were based on total bill including tax. I'm not tipping the tax. The recommended % - 18%, 20%, 25%, are out of hand everywhere. Do better. I wonder if Ilio would approve.
Edit: I just want to clarify, I believe this was an honest mistake, i will be back to dine with Ilio’s in the future. Its just that something like this shouldnt have really happened in the first place. Called on 10/16 to make a reservation for 10/28. Reservation was accepted with no issue over the phone. Well apparently the restaurant is closed today, and my reservation was put in for 10/29 without me knowing, like I asked (and was told i was in for over the phone) Nobody told me anything, I had to call the restaurant myself to ask about my reservation. Its a shame I cant celebrate my birthday here. Always loved their gnocchi.
Had dinner on Saturday 2/7/26. Was seated about our reservation time and ordered rice ball appetizer and entrees. Two of us ordered prime rib and one other ordered a chicken dish. All three dishes came out together and that's when the disappointment occurred. Both of the prime rib arrived on plates that were ice cold and the meat wasn't much better. Chicken dish was delicious and hot. You would think in a restaurant that is usually great could keep the dinner plates warm before they use them for serving. Unless they were plated and let stand for 10-15 minutes before being served. Not sure if the kitchen screwed up or our waitress. So to say we were disappointed was an understatement.
We’ve always loved this restaurant and have considered it our go-to spot for special occasions and larger gatherings. The food has consistently been great, and we’ve brought friends and family here many times because of the positive experiences we’ve had in the past. That’s why I was especially disappointed during our recent attempt to plan my daughter’s Sweet 16 celebration. We had a group of 13 people and were informed that because it exceeded 12 guests, we were limited to ordering only five items from the menu — with no flexibility to order anything additional. When asking to speak with a manager, I was told that the woman I was speaking with IS the manager and she was completely apathetic and unhelpful. While I understand the need for policies when accommodating larger parties, this restriction felt overly limiting and took away from what was meant to be a special family celebration. We truly enjoy this restaurant and hope this policy can be reconsidered or handled with more flexibility in the future, as it may discourage loyal customers from hosting important events here.
I ate here for the first time. I had ordered 2 spaghetti dinners for take out. The sauce was very average tasting, small portion size I took one fork full and I came to the bottom of the container, very small piece of bread, very small salad mostly iceberg lettuce. I went here based on the reviews and wasn't worth the price very disappointed. Olive garden would have been a lot better.
Watch out for the hidden fees kitchen appreciation fee. really! they ask if you want a potato or spaghetti but they don't tell you spaghetti cost more. Spaghetti sauce was blah.. needed garlic. Filet mignon was very good except it did not come with a vegetable. Strange. Will not be coming back
Right away, the food was unpleasant. The prime rib was utterly unacceptable. The cut was dry and lacked flavor. The Au Ju had a taste that I can't explain; however, it was horrible. The juice, as seen in the photo, was completely tasteless. The portions at the bottom of the photograph are inedible. The chicken wasn't as awful; however, I could not stomach finishing it. The service was exemplary, and Dennis, the proprietor, was amiable. He engaged with each customer, a practice rarely observed in many restaurants. Thank you, and I hope your experience is better. We won't be returning.
My son ordered dinner for four for a Birthday celebration through Ilio’s website. In turn, Door Dash delivered the order. Three (3) items were missing from our order. No bread and butter or extra sauce comes with a dinner order. Spaghetti was dry and had hardly any sauce on it as pictured. We called and they did deliver our missing items after we already ate. Tried to dispute through Door Dash, but since it goes through the restaurant, we were unable to do so.
I just had catering and they almost missed it by an entire day. The catering was supposed to be delivered at 4 PM it finally got here by 6 15 PM. Our Celebration of Life was almost over by then. The meatballs tasted boiled with no flavor, the BBQ pork tasted like a bad school lunch, the rolls were almost frozen and cold. The cookies tasted store bought from Wegmans to be exact. How does one manage to put out poor quality of food and have good reviews? Answer....its their friends and family review bombing so they get a good review.
The food is incredible… However the music in the background was so loud and annoying, we had to ask for it to be turned down. This is our second time there.
Ordered takeout there this week. Also, ordered catering for a large party from there a few months ago. The food is just not good period. It tastes like frozen pasta you can make at home to me. The meatballs are like commercial frozen Rosina meatballs. You can make what they have at home. Sauces are terrible. I wanted to give this place business because it’s local. But the takeout portions are small and very overpriced for bland Italian food. I would encourage management to go to Mangia or Lucia’s to see what they’re up against.
