One of the best restaurants, atmospheres, cuisine, and ambiances I've ever experienced! Max was our waiter and he was so knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed our first time at Aura and will definitely make a trip back. Huge thank you to the cooks and staff!💓
Our evening at Aura was very nice. We made a reservation for a Thursday evening. The parking lot was pretty full. Beautiful restaurant. The pops of blue were perfect for a Mediterranean restaurant. We were seated upstairs at a table for two against the railing overlooking the main floor. It was a lovely way to really look around and take in the beauty of the restaurant. Upstairs are a few smaller tables, a gorgeous long live-edge table for maybe 8-10 and a sofa. The main floor has a bunch of great U-shaped booths with high backs in a few different sizes that would accommodate many different parties and also tables with chairs. Very pretty lighting fixtures, with my only request being that the hanging lights very much needed a dusting. They were eye level from the second floor and the dust was very noticeable. Our server told us the restaurant opened three years ago and I’m guessing the lighting fixtures have never been dusted. After we were seated by the host, our server brought two glasses and a carafe of still water for the table. We had decided to order a few items we intended to share. Sharing allowed us to sample a few delicious foods! We started off with the WHIPPED FETA AND TOMATO BRUSCHETTA (Marinated Heirloom Tomatoes, Crispy Crostini, Warm Pita). This was served on a long wooden board with the perfectly crispy crostini on one end, the pile of pillow soft warm pita triangles in the middle and a bowl with feta and tomatoes in on the other end. I regret not taking a picture of this dish. This was the best bruschetta I have ever had!! We fully enjoyed every bite!! Next our server brought us a VEGETABLE LASAGNA ROLL (Ricotta, Spinach, Red Bell Pepper, Fire Roasted Tomato Sauce) and a bowl of MUSHROOM, POTATO, AND LEEK SOUP (Forest Mushrooms, Crispy Leeks, House Bread). Personally, I didn’t care for the lasagna roll because it was covered in a very thick tomato sauce that was really sweet. Afterwards, I realized that the tomato sauce reminded me of tomato paste in both the taste and consistency. Perhaps the tomato sauce is an authentic Mediterranean recipe. The person I was with loved the lasagna and just kept raving about it. The mushroom soup was great. It came with a drizzle of good olive oil that really added to the mouthfeel. I liked dipping pieces of the warm bread into the soup, to me that was the best bite. Let me mention the FOREST MUSHROOM PIZZA (Roasted Garlic Oil, Wild Mushroom Blend, Winter Parmesan, Provolone, Mozzarella, Pesto Oil)…Oh My Goodness!! So delicious!! Perfect crust!! Great mushrooms!! To be honest, I was actually too full at that point so I took my half home and reheated in the oven the next day…so if the leftover pizza was that AwEsOmE—I can only imagine how good it was brought fresh to the table. Yes I was full but I love a dessert ❤️. I chose the LIMONCELLO CAKE (Meyer Lemon Zest and Limoncello Infused Cake, Mascarpone Frosting, Lemon Curd, Almond Tuile) because this is a mediterranean restaurant and of course limoncello. Again—> Perfection! The cake was similar in texture to a butter cake. The lemon flavor wasn’t overpowering but just right with a light hint. The frosting was beautifully piped on top and so light and creamy. I don’t believe I was given the almond tuile. I didn’t realized that until I looked later at my pictures and matched it to the menu description. I really like almond so I’m sure I would have enjoyed the tuile. I savored a few bites and took the remaining cake home…which I finished later that night. The service was fine. Nothing to really compliment or rave about. Our server did sometimes seem annoyed, not with us but perhaps that’s just her personality or something else was bothering her. She wasn’t rude in anyway, just didn’t give us a feeling that she liked her job or wanted to be there. We are looking forward to going back. I feel like we will be eating here often.
Aura was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday! The chef did a fantastic job balancing the dishes with bright, fresh flavors. The bread is chewy and perfectly crunchy, ready to dip in all the dishes. Trevor, our server, did an amazing job of staggering our plates to keep the dinner moving in a timely manner that never felt rushed. Knowledgeable about the menu and offered help when deciding which dessert to choose. (By this point we were all so full but couldn't help ourselves from ordering something to share.) The olive oil, lemon cake does not disappoint. Anticipating my return already.
We stopped in for dinner in a Friday evening and sat on the patio. The menu looked really good so it was hard to choose. They were out of mussels and calamari so that narrowed the appetizers down for us. We had some wine and shared baba ghanoush, caprese salad and shrimp pappardelle. The food was as delicious as we expected it would be. Our server - I think her name was Nicole but not sure - was personable and fun. We did end up getting dessert to go (not pictured) and that was very good too. The atmosphere in the patio was laid back and breezy. It was not noisy despite being so close to the street and some outdoor seating near the brewery. Parking looked pretty full but we found a spot no problem. We didn’t have a reservation and did not wait to be seated. I would go back again to try some of the other menu items for sure.
Aura was beyond fantastic! It was such a good experience with the beautiful interior, friendly staff, creative menu, and exceptional service. Our food selections were presented with perfect finishing touches and a flair of a truly fine, experienced chef. Our appetizers and entrées were created with the freshest ingredients and bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Aura has been on our radar since they opened, and we are so glad we finally made it. It will not be our last! We can’t say enough good things about the restaurant, the service, and the chef’s creations. It seemed obvious that the owner and the chef truly cared about the clientele.
"An unforgettable dining experience at Aura Modern Mediterranean! We were lucky to secure the last brunch reservation on Sunday, and it was a decision we won't forget. The beet hummus and Greek salad were absolutely amazing, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. My personal favorite was the brunch burger - the bacon was truly to die for. The ambiance of the restaurant is stunning and inviting, but what truly set our experience apart was the exceptional service from our server, Mike. His attentiveness and hospitality were top-notch, making our visit extra special. A five-star rating without a doubt! Can't wait to return for another delightful meal at Aura."
So happy this Gem moved into the neighborhood! Aura Modern Mediterranean has such cool vibe. From the moment you walk in the door you are transported to a different place. The music and ambiance are both welcoming and exotic at the same time. The service was impeccable. Our server knew the menu and was quick with recommendations and the owner answered all our questions and gave us his recommendations as well. We had a variety of small plates to start and they were all great. My favorite was the tuna tartare, grilled baby octopus and the Red beet and goat cheese hummus. The main course was outstanding. I had the Char Grilled Iberico Presa and it was delicious. After dinner we moved to the bar and had some espresso martinis. The bar staff were friendly and fast. This restaurant is a great place for an intimate dinner and a great place for gathering with friends. Can't wait to go back!
Checked out the hype of the place. It's true! I would go back again for food and drinks. They have some new varieties in cocktails and their menu is small but modern. The interior is cozy and is great for candlelight dinners
It is like a Spanish and Mediterranean fusion restaurant. The service was impeccable, and all the staff is so friendly and accommodating! We went for my boyfriend’s birthday who loves Mediterranean food and it got his stamp of approval! Plus, the “aura” is great - good vibes!
Great change from Cork and Fork. The pizza was amazing and the kebabs we ordered twice. Drinks were good and desert was amazing too. We didn’t try and real entrees other than salad so we will have to go back. They have an amazing fish selection so we have to go back and try it.
Lovely buildout and excellent food. We did tapas. Lobster soup and mushroom soup were outstanding. Service was laid back and knowledgeable.
If you haven’t seen the inside of this place, you’re missing out. The design is comfortable and classy, and I really loved the upstairs in particular. My husband had the three bean soup and loved it. My favorite was the carpaccio. Lovely cocktail and wine options, as well as a nice selection of beer. There were even a few non alcoholic beers on their list and I really appreciated that! I love seeing zero proof options on drink lists! Meg, our server, was attentive and professional. We toured the apps tonight, and we’ll be back for mains, coffee, and dessert soon. Thanks for a great experience, Aura.
Miss Cork n Folk. This new place didn’t change anything but food menu. Classy & upscale dinning. The sever was very helpful. Cocktails were good as usual. I was looking for some upscale dinning around this area. Very nice.
I take every client & friend I can to Aura. 100% INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE FROM THE MINUTE YOU WALK THRU THE AURA DOORS! The service is on point & the food is even better! Start with happy hour from 4-6pm, then move into dinner mode! Brian & Jen created a truly uniquely SPECIAL spot in a town that needs more happy, bright places to eat & socialize! Can’t wait to go back!!!
Great new spot in Camphill! Although I was sad to hear cork n fork closed this is definitely a welcomed new flavor to the area love the subtle changes to the interior to give it a Mediterranean flare are really well done the dishes have an amazing presentation and the flavors are music to your tastebuds each bite explodes and your brain immediately turns to craving the next bite I got the CHAR GRILLED IBERICO PRESA my wife got the nightly feature scallops everything was on point and our waitress was perfect plenty of knowledge of the menu and origin of the ingredients can’t wait to return and they also just started offering a Sunday brunch!
What can I say? The drinks? AMAZING. The vibe? so cute and cool! The food? TO DIE FOR. I dont usually do a happy dance while eating but i sure as hell did last night! Our waitress was amazing too!
First visit to this new local spot. Menu is varied and very well prepared. This might well be the best restaurant in Harrisburg and perhaps the most expensive.
Aura Modern Mediterranean is among the best of the best restaurants in Central PA! If you are looking for a top level restaurant with a stunning atmosphere and delicious food, this is the place.
Working half the year in the Med (Spain/Italy/Sicily/Greece/Malta) and enjoying the amazing cuisine around there, I came across this new place through a long time friend and needed to try [compare], ha. I had the Char-Grilled Iberico Presa and it did not disappoint. Did not get the chance to take a "before" picture! The atmosphere is open, though didn't manage to see upstairs. Next time back I'll have to see how the pizza compares to Sicily and Malta, it looked spot on from a view.
I am satisfied every time. It is obvious that the dishes are prepared with care. Be careful to stay like this.
This was a find! Tucked away among other shops and venues, we almost missed it. But so glad we found it. The seating is generous and comfortable (we were indoors) and attractive. Even the restroom was generously sized and attractively appointed. The food was an excellent mix Mediterranean favorites fused with interesting novelties to make them fresh. We will be back.
First time here tonight and the service was spectacular. First, our table was wobbly which would have never bothered any of us, but the host made sure to fix it which was very sweet. Our waiter Bill was fabulous. He had such attention to detail. When bringing our wine, he noticed the glasses had some water spots and made sure to clean them before delivery. Again, something that would not bother us but such a thoughtful gesture. He was very attentive and the truly the definition of hospitality. We will definitely be back and thank you again!
As one of my favorite places for dinner, I was happy to learn that Aura is now open for lunch. Today my friend and I had the opportunity to enjoy their lunch menu. We both had the lobster bisque which was the best lobster bisque I've had in ages. Would highly recommend! Jack, our server, was exceptional! Looking forward to sharing future lunches here with my friends!
Aura should provide bread or rolls without a charge considering the food prices, particularly the long wait for entree. There was a very long wait for desert as well. Although the interior is very cosmopolitan, the noise level made it difficult to hear my friend. Food was quite good and the waiter was very pleasant and obviously embarrassed by the wait times we experienced. Considering the negatives, I doubt I would return.
I’m a tile contractor and met up with a family I had the honor to build a custom shower and install in floor heat in the bathroom floor. Greeted as I entered before my customers I requested a table upstairs where we could have nice conversation. Cordial was how I would say the evening went with superb food and everyone strives to make sure you are enjoying your stay. The owner Brian even stopped by checking to make sure it was a wonderful relaxing experience and asked how the food was to our liking. We will return and thank you for a great evening.
I've dined here multiple times. Love the fresh food and unique spin on the dishes! The cocktails are great, and the happy hour specials can't be beat. Everyone is always nice!
My wife and I visited Aura Modern Mediterranean for the first time a few weeks ago in celebration of her birthday and it was a wonderful experience! The decor and atmosphere there is chic and reminded us of our trip to Greece a few years ago. The staff are warm, professional and very attentive---especially our wait staff person Bill (not Phil! - he'll get the inside joke!) and made us feel like we were longtime patrons. And the true star of the night was the food---calamari, branzino, cedar plank salmon, spaghetti squash, lemon and olive oil cake---what an exquisite cornucopia of culinary delights which exuded a kaleidoscope of flavors---and it was AMAZING! All in all, my wife's special was made more so by the fantastic folks at Aura---we truly appreciate you all and look forward to our next visit!
We moved from the Philly area and have been looking for restaurants that have more of that city feel, and from the moment that we walked into Aura we did not feel like we were in Mechanicsburg. They've done an amazing job of creating a beautiful atmosphere! Now let's talk about food... The lamb kabobs are to die for - literally exactly how lamb should be cooked, the steak was cooked perfectly to my liking, the calamari cooked to crispy perfection. Everything was so fresh and we can't wait to go back and try more amazing dishes! But I think what put everything over the top for us was the service. From the moment we walked in the host was accommodating, our server was attentive, Skylar the manager went above and beyond, was friendly, and answered our questions, and Jason the bartender made a mean drink, was personable, and made us feel right at home. Thanks for an amazing experience, we'll definitely be back!
Aura was amazing! Our server Natasha, was great and full of energy. We ordered an array of dishes and the pizza was phenomenal. We’ve been here plenty and something was different about this visit in the best way. The staff were lovely and food tasted amazing. We will be back for sure!
I ordered takeout and got there a bit early so I sat at the bar and order a Manhattan (it was excellent). I happened to see the Executive Chef and mentioned that my wife is vegan and eats clean, so he went and cooked up extra mushrooms, carrots, and broccolini, and it made my wife's day. It's hard to go out and find good food that works with her preferences and Aura was super accommodating and made excellent additions to help us out! Really appreciated. Above all else the food is excellent and I can tell that they actually care about the ingredients that they use; even the arugula on my salad was amazing. Well done, Aura, and thank you.
A fine dining place along a 5 star staff from the line cook to the servers. A young chef that definitely knows how to bring to America the unique taste of the Mediterranean cuisine. Every plate’s prize definitely worth it. A mandatory place to stop by, either with friends, family or with your partner. Stop by, I’m pretty sure you will either recommend it and stop by again.
If you haven’t yet been to Aura, you’re in for a treat. First, our server Natasha was friendly, personable, and when we mentioned it was our first visit, went the extra mile to explain how the menu worked and made some excellent suggestions. We felt welcomed from the moment we sat down. Of course you can’t review a restaurant and not talk about the food, so let’s talk about the food. It. Is. Outstanding. We ordered the roasted beet hummus and tuna tartare to start. The beet hummus is so fresh and clean tasting and the tartare is served with this very unique rice puff and could have come from any high end Japanese restaurant. For entrees, we had the lamb Bolognese and the char grilled iberico presa. The depth of flavor in the bolognese was out of this world, and the iberico was cooked to perfection and without a doubt worth experiencing at least once in your life. I should add the Mediterranean orzo that it’s served with was also a star. Oh and we finished with the limoncello cake. Highly recommend. 10/10 would have again. Not too sweet, perfectly tangy. Go visit this place. It’s worth a drive. Makes for an outstanding date night location, and it’s just worth it. Thank you, Aura staff, for a superb experience.
My girlfriend and I had reservations here on Saturday night. Neither of us had been here before. The table was ready for us when we got there a couple minutes early. The atmosphere was a bit loud and that was before the drunk women at the bar started screech-laughing. We ordered mocktails and an appetizer. The drinks were delicious (we both recommend the phony negroni) and the appetizer dish tasted good enough but didn't wow. I also got a cold forkful at the bottom of the last one. The main course came and both our dishes were amazing. I ordered the swordfish puttanesca - which is served over risotto - and she ordered a chicken dish also over risotto. I went to cut the fish with my knife and it fell right through. It was so tender I ended up just cutting the rest of it with the fork. The dessert was fantastic. We each got chocolate cake which came with an orange coulis and Chantilly whipped cream. It was big enough we probably could have shared but we finished both anyway. We're planning on making this a regular visit.
We were visiting from out of town. From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated so well. The service (Nicole and Bill), the food, the atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
Main thing to note was excellent service and especially the unique and top-rate food. The chef’s display and use of different spices, sauces, textures and tastes was incredible. We have a history of eating out at very unique and quality places; me because I can’t cook, and my wife because she travels a lot and is an excellent cook.
My family is newer to the area, and my daughter and I have already been here for both lunch and dinner—each time was a fantastic experience. The servers are extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and welcoming. We booked New Year’s Eve reservations for our family, and it turned out to be a truly phenomenal experience. Corey was our server and he was excellent. As expected, the restaurant was very busy, but the service never missed a beat. The food, atmosphere, and overall experience were absolutely top-notch. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I visited for our first time to celebrate our anniversary. I made reservations on line with the request for a more romantic seating and we were led to a very comfy little booth for two when we arrived. Loved the atmosphere with its soft lighting and comfortable seating. Our waiter Bill was extremely attentive to our requests and the Mediterranean food was delicious. We shared the local artisan board, which was extremely flavorful from the bread to the meats to the cheese. Amazing beet hummus with goat cheese. We both had the chicken Aura and the creme brulee. Highly recommend both. We have now found the best creme brulee in the area!🩷
Absolutely amazing experience. Our waiter, Bill, Was great. Food was out of this world. This was the best anniversary dinner we have had in 22 years. Now what I consider the best creme brulee in the Harrisburg area! 👌 Will come back just for that.
The food was good, for the price I was looking for something *more*. Their cocktails were very tasty and went well with our order. The flavors are rich— came through in the pasta sauce and salmon seasoning. The small tomato’s they add a great taste! Not pictured, but don’t recommend ordering the baba ghanoush. Very simple. Dipping items: few pita slices, cucumber, and bell pepper slices.
This was our first visit to this restaurant. I was here when it was Cork & Fork. The inside was beautifully redone. I love mediterranean food. The service and waitress was great except for the wait on our food. They were busy, so we understood, just took a bit longer than anticipated. We both enjoyed our delicious meals. We did not like the red beet hummus but we are glad to have tried it. We loved everything else!
Had dinner here to celebrate a friend’s milestone birthday. They have done a good job with the new interior design. Service was excellent and appropriate for a high end restaurant. Overall the food was good with some exceptions. One friend said her Sangria had no alcohol, which is unacceptable considering how much it costs. Another friend didn’t like the special of the day. They said meat quantity was very little. The pistachio cake was very dry.
We've wanted to visit here since it opened, and we finally did. It was nice, our waitress was very lovely, and the food was good. We enjoyed all the tapas we ordered: charcuterie, cod fritters, sweet potato hummus, muhammara (it was spicy for a sensitive tongue!) The portions were very hefty, and it was easy to share them around the table. For the mains, we got a filet mignon and the chicken. Honestly, the chicken was kind of dry, which was disappointing considering all the small plates were so good.
Cacuterie was great... drinks were great..tapas (crab croquettes and lamb kebob) were great. We should have stopped there and our experience would have been amazing... Whipped Ricotta pizza was weak, it need a little more of everything and it would have been amazingtoo!
We had a lovely dinner at Aura Modern Mediterranean in Camp Hill. The ambiance is warm and modern, perfect for a relaxed yet upscale evening out. We started with the Spanish Crab Croquettes and Baba Ganoush both packed with flavor and beautifully plated. For mains, the Pan Seared Halibut was cooked to perfection, and the Tuscan Short Rib was tender and deeply satisfying. The Aura Caesar Salad was fresh and crisp, though a touch overdressed for my taste. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. Overall, a solid Mediterranean inspired dining experience we’ll definitely be back to try the Lamb Bolognese next time!
Overall, I had a great experience at this restaurant. Corey, my server, was attentive and at the same time, not overwhelming - a practice of poor service providers. The short rib was cooked perfectly and went well paired with the house Old Fashioned. The tuna tartare, lamb kabobs and shrimp for the entreé were worth every cent. Definitely coming back.
Fantastic food! Small menu but reasonable prices for the quality. Biggest disappointment was surprisingly the seats. I could NOT get comfortable in those things. If you ever come here, get a booth or bring a pad for your butt. Shoutout to our waitress, forgot her name but the service was immaculate. Food: Oysters were perfect. Fried cauliflower thing was quite possibly the best cauliflower I’ve ever had in my life. I got the scallop special with asparagus risotto. The scallops were cooked very well. The dish overall could’ve used some sort of tang or citrus - had too much of a buttery flavor. Overall 8/10.
First the appetizers and drinks were really good. My wife's salad was also really good. The reason for 3 stars is that I ordered the second most expensive dish for dinner, filet mignon. I ordered this steak medium and really that’s almost too done for this cut. Well my steak came out charred and well done. When calling this out to the server, the manager said they would pay for my drink. This steak was $43 and with the drink removed from it was now $33. Had I not been starving I would’ve sent it back. Additionally it was simple steamed broccoli on the side with no seasoning. Again the appetizers were really good so I just don't recommend the steak.
My first foray into Aura Modern Mediterranean Restaurant came with a mix of anticipation and curiosity, drawn in by the allure of its well-acclaimed cocktail offerings and an enticing menu that promised a contemporary twist on Mediterranean classics. We began with drinks. Mine, a Spanish G&T, concoction recommended by our personable waiter, featured Botanist Gin, Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic, grapefruit, rosemary, and juniper. While the presentation was a visual treat, the overabundance of ice diluted the essence of the ingredients, leading to a rather underwhelming experience. My wife's choice of the Winter Spiced Sangria, though slightly more flavorful, unfortunately, didn't live up to our high expectations either. A surprising departure from typical fine dining norms was the absence of complimentary bread prior to our entrees. Although our waiter was cordial, his attentiveness was lacking, which made it difficult to request clarifications or additional items. The culinary aspect of our visit shone brighter. My order of Lyulya Lamb Kabobs, served with mini pitas, house-made tzatziki, and fresh basil, was pleasingly executed, delivering a good but not extraordinary taste experience. The star of the evening, however, was the Shrimp Pappardelle chosen by my wife. The dish, a harmonious blend of saffron poached shrimp with black garlic pappardelle, zucchini ribbons, and shrimp cream sauce, was a testament to the chef's prowess in marrying flavors and textures. As the evening drew to a close, we were presented with the option of dessert, yet the lack of enthusiasm in description or recommendation from our server led us to decline. Reflecting on the overall experience, it's with a sense of missed potential that we ponder our return. Aura Modern Mediterranean Restaurant, while shining in moments through its culinary offerings, particularly the Shrimp Pappardelle, fell short of creating the memorable dining experience we had hoped for. The journey through the menu was a testament to the kitchen's capabilities, yet the overall ambiance and service left us wanting. In the competitive landscape of modern Mediterranean cuisine, it's the finer details that elevate a good experience to great. Unfortunately, Aura didn't quite reach those heights for us.
I was a bit disappointed. While the ambience was nice, I expected much more given the price we paid for the food and drinks. The drinks were good, and the calamari I ordered good at least.. However, the entrée was only average, and the service was a bit slow. For the price, I was hoping for a more exceptional overall experience.
I’m still in shock by our experience. We booked a reservation for Mother’s Day dinner as the reviews were fantastic. We were seated promptly, which was much appreciated as we had our 2 year old son with us (they knew our kiddo was joining because they called to confirm). Everything went downhill after this. We waited almost 15 min for a server. Turns out a different server had to let ours know we were at the table. Our server came over and said hello, he didn’t apologize for walking past us several times, he just asked what we wanted to drink and let us know it was still happy hour. When he brought us waters he placed a glass tumbler full of water in front of my 2 year old 😂. I commented I’d just go get his water bottle from the car, to which he then realized and offered us a plastic cup. We placed our entire food order at once since we’d been sitting for over 20 min now. A table that arrived after us received their appetizers before we got anything. Fast forward 40 minutes, our food finally arrives, they did not send out our son’s buttered noodles early which was very surprising to me. Thank goodness for snacks and an iPad 🤦🏽♀️. We ordered the crab croquettes as an app, the halibut, and the short rib. Halibut was fine, short rib was not fall off the bone tender and it was very fatty. The haricot vert were great! When we were nearly done with our dishes our server asked how everything was, and we let him know we never got our appetizer/crab croquettes. The kitchen sent them out 5 min later…after we finished our meal. We didn’t even get an apology! This was a very disappointing experience given we heard such great things. Needless to say, we won’t be back and I wouldn’t consider this place kiddo friendly.
