Surprised they served menudo during the week and it came with hominy. Hard to find with hominy, now a days. Came with cilantro, jalapeños, onions and limes on the side. The place looks like an old building but the inside was very cool in this hot, July weather. Pleasantly surprised that the restroom was clean and smelled super clean, even though the building looks old from the outside. Was a very good experience. Ordered two frozen, lime margaritas. They were a bit too sweet. They might have been made with wine, but overall they were good.
Delicious, family run eatery. Very casual, home-like feel. The dishes taste like what they are- made out of real ingredients. Not at all overly salty or greasy. Definitely worth a visit when in town!
My go-to for authentic Mexican breakfast! No other place around can quite compare to the quality Mexican food you will get here. The Migas are amazing and are my sister and I’s all-time favorite. My mom also loves their menudo and won’t go to any other Mexican restaurant when it comes to menudo. The service here is always quick, whether you order takeout or dine-in. Los Tapatios never disappoints!
Good authentic food. This visit bought a tray of rice for my party. It was made perfectly... last time I bought a tray in LA was sticky.. was perfectly cooked. If you cook rice... you understand.. under or overcooked is bad juju.. Friendly place .. staff is friendly and food is well prepared and served!!!
Red Chilaquiles with chicken and add-on over easy eggs on top? Amazing … Beef fajita tacos? Great.
First time after driving past for ages , the waitresses had chips and salsa on our table faster than we could sit down I was very pleased. I had the Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas They were very good. Next time I want to try the Carne Guisada. I should have tries this place sooner I am going back as soon as I can.
Great food!! Friendly Service!!!
I got carne guisada & carne asada for my wife, some of the best food I’ve had in a while! And the guidada is made the correct way here with stewed beef tips, very satisfied that I came here today.
I live near restaurant and have eaten there many times over the years. The service and food has always been of great quality and good value. I have taken a lot of friends and family to this restaurant and they also were very happy with the food and service..
We came as a large group (16) and they did great job getting everything ordered. Good service. Great food. I had sour cream enchiladas. Awesome 👌!
Absolutely the best near home for both pozole verde and rojo!
We love the food and the service! Just great. The last couple of times, we noticed that the music was pretty loud. We could barely have a conversation at the table. We should have said something right then and there.
This is the BEST place to get your Tex Mex fix!!!! It’s the most authentic and amazing tasting Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life and I would come back to this place for their food!!!! We would eat here A Lot when we were staying in Cedar Hill.
Great food, kids love the cheese quesadillas and pozole verde.
Nice modern clean restroom. Waitresses helped each other. Christian, Daniella and Katherine attended my table. There is a charge if receive more chips then the first bowl.
Just want you want when you needed that is authentic southwest.. ✨️
It was great, the food, absolutely delicious, the drinks were good and atmosphere were good, the service was great! Should recommend it.
This place is good. Been here a few times with my family. It’s always busy and you do have to wait a while to be seated. The customer service has been good so far. The food is also good but it depends on what you get. The only thing I would say that is not necessarily problem would be that when it’s a large party, even though everyone is paying separately they include the 18% tip on everyone’s bill and they don’t tell you that. So regardless If the service is good or bad you still end up automatically paying the 18%. Other than this, it’s a nice little place.
It's connected to a fuel station and a car mechanic garage. But don't let that fool you. Food is great and the service is pretty good too. The waitresses here are gorgeous. Oh yeah, they're nice too. Chips and salsa are among the best I've eaten
The waiter was really nice and the food is very good with decent prices. Also if you live Flan this is the place. The owner helps cook the food and the wait was not long. I think the serving size is a good amount as well. You will not be disappointed. I will be going back.
The best Mexican food you will eat in Texas it is out of the way find it and go there take your friends you will absolutely love it the sweetest people there I think our waitress his name Yasira.. she is so sweet and helpful. We've never eaten Mexican food in 50 years of Our lives that taste anything close to this and we go all over the United States in Mexico.
I tried their Menudo and I am one picky Pregnant Eater, AMAZING!! No grease, very clean and this was a SMALL! Everything was so fresh and came out very quickly. The ladies greeted us so politely and adjusted their Spanish to English, our waitress was the sweetest! I asked for a ton of things and she had a smile on her face the whole time. The other waitress was sweeping the floor and wiping down everything, tables, windows, front doors and organizing the cashier stand. I will definitely be enjoying more food here, the prices are to die for!! Bravo ladies, I was very impressed. 8/19/19
Did a small celebration for my newly 90 year old great grandfather here with my family. It was the best dinner I've had in a while, and it was made even better with family around us 🫶🫶 service was amazing and the food was just as good, we will definitely be coming back for another small family get together
The food and service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Service was fast and attentive. Food was delicious. Staff was friendly. Really enjoyed breakfast here. Definitely authentic food.
This place is pretty good. It's been only my second time to visit but I wish I had found them sooner. I had a stuffed pineapple which was delicious. It's the first time I had seen something like this so I decided to order. It did not disappoint. The chips and salsa are great and if you get a drink to go, I had tea, it comes in a big cup. Definitely going to continue visiting and trying other dishes.
One of the best places to go eat excellent environment good service And the food very delicious
The agua frescas are super delicious. Also, in this place, they play great songs. I loved this place.
Food is delicious and they give you plenty of it. Seems as though they could use more waitresses. Had to flag down a waitresses several times throughout my visits.
This place is amazing. Probably a hidden gem on the Southern outskirts of Dallas tbh. Big portions and affordable. I always leave too full to walk lol The food is ALWAYS flavorful and fresh. The drinks are cheap. From reading other reviews it seems like ordering to go isn’t a good option (poor quality/portioning) so take the time plan and dine in. Be wary of busy days/hours. Like all restaurants, of course it’s going to be busy and the service might not be the best. Silly fools.
AMAZING FOOD!! Great experience from the beginning til it was time to pay. Our waitress Genesis was very sweet & attentive towards us and all her other tables. She kept coming around to make sure we were okay or needed anything. Prices are worth the taste of this delicious food. Very happy with our dinner tonight, compliments to the chefs! & thank you Genesis for making this a great experience as our first time here.
Extremely clean dining area. Complementary chips and salsa (really good by the way). Attentive staff, great authentic meal and cocktails! You have to try a margarita if you dine in! It will make a good day better! I will definitely be back! I noticed they also serve breakfast on the menu and the lunch was so good I have to give their breakfast a try!
On a whim, we decided to have lunch here. We noticed that each time we drive by here, there are always a lot of cars here, which is a great sign as the outside of the restaurant could use some upgrades. This is definitely what you would call “A Dive joint.” We were immediately sat down and given warm, fresh corn chips and delicious salsa. The drinks were large 32 oz cups with crushed ice. The menu contained all of the traditional Mexican dishes. My wife was pleasantly surprised when she learned they had fresh Posole, as many Mexican places do not. The food came out and everything was great. We are definitely returning and would highly recommend to friends and family.
First time, great time! Great food! Food: App, chips and salsa, different salsa, never had anything like it. Spicy, creamy and lots of seasoning. Entree, I got a Burrito with Chille Rojo (Pork red sauce). Big & tasty and couldn’t resist ordering second. Service: Came in with a big crowd from a conference, they were swamped. They performed flawlessly. Got drinks and apps out quickly, took orders efficiently, kitchen out did itself! Friendly staff! Price: Reasonable, great food so it was worth it! Establishment: Dated but well taken care of, clean! I am so glad I came here for lunch. **** Please come and patron this great location!
This place has the best Menudo in the area. I moved to south Dallas 3 years ago and I struggled to find some good menudo. Finally, I stumbled across this little gem. Highly recommend their breakfast …

Super chill ambiance, amazing food. Our waitress was really kind and helpful when recommending drinks and meals. Their horchata was really delicious. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

REAL mexican food in Texas. \n\nGreat small place with excellent food!\n\nLunch specials $13\nMost all others under $20
The food was amazing, will come again many times after playing ball\nThis was amazing and staff was great
service and food were great. Will definitely be back when back in town. Menudo plate was well served.
Outstanding mexican food! The Huevos A La Mecicana are simply the best! Likewise, the breakfast tacos are phenomenal...thin tortillas that accentuate the ingredients!
Good food and service. I love the chilaquiles with pollo. Small and cozy. Authentic mexican food
Delicious, friendly, good menu of standard tex-mex food. The ambiance is okay. I come here almost every week for the fajitas. But the migas are great, too.
Muy Bueno !! The pastor tacos hit the spot every-time. Thanks “Los Topitos” Also the chips salsa and queso is also outstanding.

Place is small, but nice. If you get fish ask if they can debone. Make sure you understand cost for this extra service from wait staff. Food is excellent and worth the trip.
This place was really good! The salsa was really tasty, and food was good. The guacamole was basic but tasty. I got the shrimp cocktail, which was pretty standard. My friend got chicken enchiladas, which were good though the chicken was a bit dry
Great authentic Mexican food, owner operated, fresh ingredients daily , great people fast service, food is great, lots to choose from, great for a quick lunch. Easy in and out big oarking area. Right off highway. Clean, friendly staff never had a bad meal here. Definitely worth a stop if in the area
Cute atmosphere inside, salsa and chips above average, a shrimp cocktail full to the brim not just on the rim, checked on often but did take a good while until food came (restaurant was full). Carne Quisada very tender and flavorful. A little pricey but overall good experience.
Food is good. We did have to ask for the TV to be turned down so we could hear each other. And you might think they're being attentive when they're bringing chips to the table. But BEWARE! They will charge you. We did need a second basket for our family of 4, but the server brought it of his own accord, not of our request. The restaurant in DeSoto doesn't charge for their chips. If it posted anywhere on the menu, then I did not see it.
Good food and good service. I went on a Wednesday evening. It was a little busy but we were able to get a table right away. The first table we tried to sit at had a bunch of crackers on the floor so we decided to sit at another one. We ordered the chicken fajita nachos and a bean, rice and cheese burrito to share. The food was really good, however my son wished the burrito was a little bigger. Also the nachos seemed to have more toppings than chips on the plate but we just used the rest of the chips left from the chips and salsa basket. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Overall a good experience. I will be back soon.
Gave this place a try and let me first say The pasole was soooo damn good!! Lol I was not a big fan of the Barbacoa tacos but All of the food was steaming hot and fresh!! The salsa omggg! It was so fresh and it had a little kick to it🌶 definitely Not a big fan of the service...But check them out if you haven’t already, they did not disappoint!
This was my first time eating at this place. The food was alright. Wasn't filling like other Mexican restaurants I have been too. Definitely not Tex- Mex. The best part was the salsa and chips really tasty. I would love to buy a jar of there salsa. The downside no refills on drinks and the waitress was nice she didn't speak English well nor understood my questions so I end up ordering what I thought I was getting and was disappointed. The atmosphere was nice people were friendly. I don't mind going back to eat again just hoping I can get someone to explain the menu better and speak English. One thing for sure I will make sure I am not thirsty with no refills. This place is pricey be prepared to spend. Overall it a at home feeling place just not budget prices.
Would hope they had fresh made tortillas and fries from an actual potato, not frozen.
07/09/2025- We had lunch. I had the sour cream enchiladas and hubby had the beef enchiladas. They were okay, but I wouldn't have them again. The service, portions, and price were good . Our first visit. The staff was friendly and the food was good. They stay pretty busy. It's not very spacious, but it's conveniently located off the freeway. I will have to go back to actually try an entire meal, because I only had barbacoa tacos. They were pretty good. I would have preferred homemade tortillas though. 07/09/2025- We had lunch. Chips were delicious, the salsa had a nice spice to it which I don’t get very often from restaurants. I picked the combination #43 which was the Gordita, taco and cheese enchilada. Taco was good. Wished that the Gordita was more connected instead of looking like a sandwich with meet. The red chili on the enchilada was good. But I’m not crazy about having cheese. Adding meat would have been a better choice. For the beverage I tried the horchata which was good.
Found this hidden gem one morning after church. The inside is way bigger and nicer than what it looks like outside (it's attached to a car shop). It was the weekend and they had Menudo for breakfast; con pata if you wanted. It tasted better than other places we have tried, but we have had better. This one was just a tad bit better than mediocre. The pancakes were very fluffy and delicious!! I ordered 2 but 1 would of had been better. I couldn't finish the 2. They were big and thick! We tasted a Barbacoa taco and it was OK. The flour tortillas used were better than most places. The corn tortillas not so much. We also tried the Migas plate. The potatoes were cooked to perfection! When they serve up the big chunky potatoes they're almost always on the hard side. These were perfectly soft but didn't fall apart; a very hard thing to do. The beans were good as well, but the Migas we're a bit flavorless. Maybe using different chips might help. They weren't that good. They were the least favorite thing we tasted. The service was great and the bathrooms looked freshly renovated and were nice and clean. The restaurant had 4 large screens where you could either watch the news, a soccer game, or a concert. You walk in and sit where you like. When you're done you go to the cash register and pay on your way out (not at the table). The place had an inviting and relaxed feel to it. We will be back to try other items on the menu.
The food is good but not great, they could do better on the asada as it was tough to chew. Their red pozole is tasty and the guisado was also good! The chips and salsa are not that great. The chip…
Small restaurant with bar. Good chips with great salsa. Tortillas r really good and homemade. Tacos al carbon were seasoned well and not tough, good lol guacamole, really fresh toppings. My husband…
Mas o menos, Bien servicio, la comida no mucho. Service was quick and accurate, they gave us a table right away. Drinks and food arrived quick too, however the food was meh, I ordered Arrachera & shrimp meat was chewy and eww, shrimp was ok. My daughter ordered beef milanesa and it was not good at all.
Okay restaurant...clean enough inside, the restroom was dirty, and not in service. No sign on door. The service was bad, considering its COVID-19, she wasn't the only waitress, and they were kinda busy, but not too busy. The food was alright, just like, I could have made at home, being the food was pretty basic. I know I've had better, but still alright. Our party of 5, got fajitas (chicken and a steak), bean burrito, and a number 42. All were okay, kinda small proportions. The rice was too bland. Salsa was good, had a lil kick. Chips were kinda brown, from overcooking. Sorry, no photos were taken. I tried this restaurant, but not going to go back. I was in state visiting family. People can try, they just themselves, they may like the near blandness of Mexican/Spanish tastes, and if you're not that hungry.
Breakfast burritos were $10 but very small more tortilla than actual ego with chorizo
I dine at this restaurant at least once a week. Luis is my preferred waiter. HOWEVER,,today Luis was off. I’ve go through about three small jars of hot sauce and three baskets of chips eating my meal anywhere from $30-$50 each time. But today when I asked for more chips and salsa I was unaware that I was being charged for anything beyond one serving. I have NEVER been charged extra from Luis when he was my waiter. When the waitress finally brought my tab I saw the extra charges. I normally leave Luis a tip no less than 40%. Not this time!!!
The place is not crazy bad it is just so so, high priced for now, I got a single chimichanga to go at lunch time and after tax it was 16, that is almost twice I usually see around and also the prices on Google is wrong so go to their website or look at the reviews with menu pictures. Staff so so, place & looks so so. I don’t believe I will be back, I am still looking for my favorite Mexican Restaurant.
I’ve been to this place before and have enjoyed it usually. We went at a not so busy time and were seated immediately. The problem was waiting for service, we waited for our drinks, we waited for someone to take our order for about 15 minutes, which if you have small kids you know is a long time. We were sat at a big table but it happened to be under an air conditioning vent which was dripping water and we realized it when it dripped into my pina colada. We had to ask for silverware who h my husband ultimately got up and got for us, along with water because we weren’t giving any and we had ordered alcoholic drinks. The food was really good and came out at a reasonable time. Overall, it was just the wait staff service that didn’t meet basic needs and I still had to ask for my pins colada to be removed from my ticket.
Food and service used to decent. Menudo used to be $14, now it’s $17. Over rated.
Had the camarones con poblano. Very mild and tex mex rather than mexican. Not very flavorful. Salsa for the chips was pretty mild also.
This place is nice, clean everyone is friendly. It is a little pricey, the breakfast is not that bad they did let us get breakfast for 2 bucks more that's nice. We ordered the HUEVOS RANCHEROS. I'd give it a 3 out of 5. The sauce needed a little more flavor. The potatoes are a little too big, so when you eat some, it does feel like it dries your bite. It does not come with bacon. Maybe that's a west Texas thing, but I thought it would come with bacon. The sour cream enchiladas was a 2 out of 5 for me. The sauce is more like thick sour cream, then maybe a sauce. I've had some where it's sour cream and maybe a hint of green sauce, but this was straight sour cream, I think. The chips and Salsa a good 4 out of 5, they do charge for refills but they should fill the basket a little more but all in all I'd give this place another try but try something else.
Please like and follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTRAVELS and EATWELLTRAVELOFTEN 6.18.24 lunch This place always seems busy so we finally decided to check it out. Diane had the lunch #4 1 beef Taco and beef tostada with rice and beans. I had the #5 1 beef taco and a cheese enchilada with chili con carne rice and beans. The tacos have a light seasoning in the beef and are good. Not too runny. Diane's tostada was filled but the shell became soggy underneath. My cheese enchilada was with white cheese and was just ok. The chili con carne was almost water and basically non-existent. The flavor really not there. The beans and rice were good. The chips are thick and ok with the salsa being good and thick. Overall, it was nothing special and at $13 for the lunch special was overpriced compared to similar level mexican food restaurants. Service lady's were friendly but not overly attentive. Not that we would never go there again but it would not be our first, second or third local choice.
Food was below average and the place was over-priced. Ordered beef fajitas and the meat tasted more like pot roast than seasoned fajita beef. Their salsa was average, but a bit too salty. Nothing about the meal was that great. It was edible. All their menu items are a little over-priced too. Won't be eating there again.
We came here once and it was very average. Not a lot of flavor going on with the dishes. The usual flavorless rice and beans came along with our meals. The atmosphere is kind of cheap-feeling in there. Nothing to make me want to come back again. There's definitely better mexican food in the area than this place.
I will not return to this location because I got sick off of the non refrigerated salsa. It seems to have been served in the same jar/pitcher/dish that is given to each customer without regard to cross contamination or sanitation. Other than that the food was good.
We went this morning, 12/27/24. My bill was$30. Tacos are $4/ each.(actually 3.25) My husband had 1 taco(no extras) medium menudo$8, and I had 2 tacos. We both had water and total was$30. We came to $19.21 with tax. I asked questions concerning bill but she acted if she couldn't understand me. I still tipped the waitress. But won't return.
Being from San Antonio I heard that the flavor was different in Dallas but there should be some kind of taste that represents chorizo! I am very disappointed in the lack.of flavor.
Why is this location so over priced compared to the DeSoto location? The DeSoto location is way better than this one. I usually get the shrimp enchiladas. $12.99 in DeSoto, $18 here. DeSoto has unlimited refills, this location has 1 before they charge you again. $4.50 for soda or tea by the way DeSoto has chips aplenty. Here you pay another $3.50 for a second basket. A second basket you'll want because they are not exactly quick. DeSoto has all the parking you could want. This place makes you feel like your car is going to be scratched. Cars are parked too close together next to an auto shop. Imagine how that looks. I got the Chimichanga burrito. It was dry and flavorless. Rice and beans were very good. I will stick to their DeSoto location for sure. Wish the Waxahachie location was still there
Food ok, service ok however I ask for more chips was told a 3.00 charge. We eaten at this restaurant for 10 plus years NEVER charged or told their was fee. Manager said fee was 1.00 but since 3.00 and most waitress don't tell the customer. Wait be back, just list a returning customer.
Service was horrible. The menudo smelled and did not taste like it had been cleaned or washed very well! Poor Poor restaurant servers! They need to get better cooks and friendlier patient servers. More help, since they're so short staffed! Overpriced for bad food. Burrito. Plain no spice! Crowded atmosphere It seemed cleaned Never going g back!
This place is not worth it, it's a little pricey and the food is not all that! I ordered Mexican enchiladas and that's not what I got! They had no flavor at all and instead of queso fresco they use…

The food quality was extremely poor. Our breakfast was a complete disappointment. The Desayuno Tapatio featured a small, tough, and unappetizing steak. My wife's Huevo y Chorizo plate was equally bad, with a strange-tasting chorizo substitute. Even the presentation was lacking, with pre-packaged tortillas and dingy plastic cups. For the prices charged, this level of quality is unacceptable. We won't be returning.
A buddy and I went here for lunch. The place was not very busy. They brought us chips and hot sauce like most mexican restaurants. We ate those chips and hot sauce and ask for more. (it was one basket of chips and 2 little bowls of hot sauce) Our fajita orders came and we started eating. We needed more hot sauce for our meal and it took forever to get it. Had to stop eating to wait on hot sauce. At check out we paid and it seemed a bit high for waters and the 2 lunch fajita plates. When we got home we realized they had charged an extra 5 dollars for the chips and hot sauce. This is a first for me and I love mexican food. I will never eat at this place again! It was my first and last time. Telling my friends and family to steer clear of this greedy place! The food was just OK not anything to brag about.
Brought my mom and uncle for lunch. We will never go back to this place! Staff is rude, too expensive for the small portions of food served, not authentic mexican dishes, waitress never came back to refill our drinks and to make matters worse, as we were waiting on the check, we saw a roach crawling on the wall where we were sitting! Went home and a few hours later my mother and uncle called me to ask if I had gotten sick from eating there. They both suffered food poisoning!
Service was AWFUl, the staff could care less after we complained. This lady was rude and threw some items to us, for one when I ask for yellow lemons, she brings two lemons cut in half and slam the cup on the table We visit this place once a month since we drive from Mesquite and Irving. We do enjoy the food but service was bad, she is new since I had not seen her before. We order pozole and menudo with bread, she only brought bread for one order when we ask for the other she told us we had to pay more. We told her we order these items most of the time, she ignored us. She never checked on us for water or anything We had to go to the counter to request water, she only brought 1 cup we were 4… what the heck!!!! We ask for “to go boxes” then we sat waited for our checks to cash out she never came back. We walked to the cashier to cash out. The manager could care last. Other family members go there too. I hope the owner sees this and make changes. We did not care to get a free meal or nothing but to be treated as a paying customer.
I went there for breakfast this morning. Upon entering the staff was not very welcoming, however the place was clean and looked nice. As I sat down I was not offered any menu, I had to get one myself. After ordering my meal I noticed how nice the staff was to other customers as they entered the establishment. However I am not of Hispanic decent and the staff definitely made sure I knew that with the way the greeted all the other customers. I ordered a meal and left. Once i got to work I discovered how horrible my food was. The breakfast I saw on other customers plate and the one I purchased were in no way similar. This was my first time but fortunately this is my last due to the lack of and the poor food I paid for.
That’s what you get if you order to pick up , my 5 year old daughter didn’t had enough food , the pozole taste great but every time I order to pick up that’s what I get and if you told the ladies something about get a decent amount of the meat the get mad, I think the owner should be ashamed about the service they give you on cedar hill location , every time I go I get 4 to 5 orders of pozole I even give them a tip even for pick up order and last time I only had one order with a decent amount of food in the cup I guess I had to keep remaining the staff to learn how to serve food in a cup
Im really disappointed because I just paid 40$ on a meal. One of them was $15 and they literally didn’t put any meat nor beans and rice…I honestly could have made this myself….this meal is called bistec a la Mexicana! Like this is not going to fill up a grown man and especially not for 15$ freaking dollars! I could have gone to chili’s and gotten more for less! They also forgot to include my flour tortillas for my tortilla soup I had ordered. It’s really not worth eating out no more and this was supposed to be a treat for me and my boyfriend. Not Returning here again anymore. Please don’t waste y’all’s times coming here and it’s always packed so I don’t understand the hype.
Never again. Fajitas were tasteless, flour shells tough as leather, and the only thing good was the refried beans. 25 dollars wasted 07/26.
I went to eat with my husband and everything was okay at the beginning order a menudo and i was looking forward to eating it until I looked bown at my menudo and it had a fly. I called the waiters and showed her my bowl said let me get you another bowl i told hell no we are leaving said well let me give you the bill I guess she thought I was going to pay for something i did not eat and pay for the drinks no first you took long to serve us then said i have to let my manger know your not going to pay. I not going to pay you we left and i took a picture of it never again will I ever go back
My mom and wife are from Mexico and I was raised on Mexican food, with that said, I believe I know good Mexican food. This is not it. It used to be good but now they have changed the recipe or cooks or owners or started catering to those who enjoy Tex- Mex and their portions are not very big either. Too many better choices for lower prices near by to make this another place we stop by again. Their food had no seasoning so calling it Tex Mex is. Compliment. Then since it was on a Sunday and we had several of our family with us I asked the lady sweeping to take our picture because the waitress was busy in the kitchen and she said she couldn’t. What? 👀
