Came here for my birthday dinner and I must say it was an amazing experience. The entire staff was very attentive, the food was 10/10! The drinks were great and the atmosphere was very classy pleasant. We were treated with respect and friendliness. The dessert!! Must try the coconut sorbet, it’s to die for. I will definitely come back again!
Excellent experience overall. The place is very nice and I will go again soon! Food was outstanding 👌
I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to share how wonderful our experience was thanks to our waitress Gerry Mincheva at Gallery Restaurant (and yes I wrote her full name down because she deserves recognition!). From the moment we sat down, she greeted us with the kindest smile and the warmest energy — it instantly made us feel at home! You could tell she genuinely cared about creating a great experience for us — and she succeeded!!! Restaurants are all about food, yes, but it’s the people who make the meal memorable. Gerry, you’re a star and you made my birthday so special tonight! Thank you for the amazing dessert, that was so thoughtful of you! My husband and I will be coming back, and asking for you again! :)
My experience there is always good. Food is good. Drinks are ok, not the best drinks, but they are ok. My expectations are to have everything excellent from a luxury restaurant so I am being a hard critic. You will enjoy your time there , no doubt. The restaurant is never empty so it’s a good sight ! /// 7.10.20025 Great experience at the bar. Excellent food and drinks. I am changing it 5 stars from four that I left during my last visit. I had whole sole fish and it was so good!
We met my sister there for dinner because she was there for a conference. We were immediately greeted and seated. Our server Salvatore was excellent as was Ava who served us water. We started with French onion soup which was delicious. The filet mignon was a nice cut and came with creamy mashed potatoes and black garlic mushrooms. My wife had scallops which were perfect. My sister ordered Joyce's chicken which came on a bed of small pasta balls which were very spicy. I do not recall this being mentioned on the menu. Frankly it was too hot to eat. The mac and cheese made up for it. For desert try the browned butter ice cream.
My sister and I stopped by on Christmas afternoon to have a drink and Derek whipped me up a delicious espresso martini! A great treat for Christmas Day!
The service in the bar and dining room was top notch! Nice upscale dining area with food to match. The breakfast was great, especially the shrimp and grits! For dinner, the chicken and salmon were delicious, and perfectly cooked. The staff was very helpful and friendly. An overall great experience!
I ate in the restaurant once, I ate at the bar once. I had room service once. All the food was great! Prepared with care and delicious. In the restaurant I had the scallops and asparagus. In the bar I had a Caesar salad with shrimp. For room service, I ordered avocado toast and truffle fries. All the dishes were super tasty! Friendly staff. Excellent wines and drinks. Nice atmosphere.
My wife and I had an absolutely unforgettable evening at the Gallery Restaurant. From the moment we arrived, everything just felt easy and welcoming — including parking, which was a pleasant surprise given how busy the resort was. Despite the lot being full, there were still plenty of spots available right by the entrance. Walking into the grand hall with the piano as a centerpiece immediately set the tone — upscale and elegant, yet warm and inviting. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with high-backed booths that provide a wonderful sense of privacy while still letting you enjoy the atmosphere. We were greeted and seated right away, and our server Gerry arrived almost instantly. She introduced herself, thanked us for coming, and asked about our plans for the evening. We told her we weren’t in a rush — just looking to relax, enjoy great food and drinks, and meet some people along the way. She smiled and promised we’d have a lot of fun. And she was absolutely right. The evening unfolded like something out of a movie. As we settled in with appetizers and drinks, Gerry introduced us to Sal from Italy — a server who’s been with the team for over a decade. We casually mentioned that I had proposed to my wife at this very table ten years ago, and that sparked a really special conversation. Shortly after, Robert, the restaurant manager and sommelier, came by to introduce himself and warmly welcome us. Then came the food. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Juan, the F&B manager, came out personally to greet us — which gave us the chance to thank him directly. We had chosen the lamb for our main course, but my wife had mentioned earlier that the only time she’d ever had truly perfect scallops was years ago. Not long after, a surprise plate arrived — a special scallop appetizer, sent by the Chef de Cuisine, Bryan Peterson, just for her to try. It was a complete surprise and absolutely incredible. The fact that Gerry had quietly passed along what my wife said, and that the chef took the time to create something just for her, really blew us away. A few minutes later, Bryan himself came out to our table, told us about the dish, and chatted with us. My wife told him — sincerely — that he’s a rising star, and she wouldn’t be surprised if one day he’s running a Michelin-starred restaurant. Throughout the evening, Gerry kept us smiling with thoughtful wine pairings and wonderful conversation. Sal returned later to share a few laughs with us, and by the end of the night, it genuinely felt like we’d spent the evening among friends. At one point, I glanced at the clock and couldn’t believe it — we had arrived at 6:30 PM, and it was already 9:30. Three hours had flown by. We dine at top restaurants often, and while many of them are excellent, I rarely leave reviews. But this experience was different. It wasn’t just a great meal — it was a truly special night. Gerry and the entire team turned what started as “just dinner” into something we’ll remember for a long time. Thank you, Gerry, Sal, Robert, Bryan, and Juan — you truly made our night. We’ll be back.
Phenomenal brunch experience. I’d come dine here even if I wasn’t staying at the Ballantyne. I enjoyed the classic breakfast with eggs over easy, home fries, sausage, and deviled eggs. The staff were wonderful and incredibly friendly + accommodating. Five stars.
Excellent service and fantastic food. The amuse bouche was a tuna tartare sesame cone, followed by sweet potato croquette. Both were amazing. I had the herb crusted lamb chop, my wife had the lobster. Both were great. The 64 degree egg in popcorn grits was delicious and inventive. Both deserts we're terrific. Prices are definitely high but, if it's in your budget, worth it. Highly recommend for special occasion, fancy date night, or business dinner.
Absolutely loved the restaurant. I highly recommend sitting outside. For us the view was the main feature. Even though the food was amazing, I am not sure it would be same experience inside for what you pay. The service was great as well. The waiter was matching drinks to my dress and it looked gorgeous and made my eyes happy. The carrots were the best (and I can't stand cooked carrots).
We came in here for her 35th birthday breakfast and everyone from the hostess that sat us, to our server (Lilly) to the managers were amazing. Lilly has found the very difficult balance of checking in often enough, but not bothering you. The food was really good. It was delivered quickly, but gave enough time that one could finish an appetizer if you chose one. We didn't feel rushed at any point. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you happen to find a day that Lilly is in house!
I stopped in for what was supposed to be a quick girls lunch with my mom but the atmosphere was so comfortable and relaxing we were there for hours! I had the kale salad, the waygu burger + fries, and washed it down with a lovely cocktail called mi amour. The service was also top notch! Our server let us know that it was a little too early for items on the dessert menu but he offered to bring us some warm chocolate chip cookies instead. Overall, we thorougly enjoyed our afternoon. Would definitely recommend!
The atmosphere of Gallery is both moody and romantic. As soon as you step in, you know you're going to have a fine dining experience. The attentiveness of the staff was noteworthy. Our waiter Merwyn was outstanding at making sure we had everything we needed, and Jesus was always nearby to make sure our water was topped off and our empty plates were removed. I unfortunately did not catch the name of the GM but he came around several times to check on us as well. You can tell he strives for all guests to have the finest experience in his restaurant. The food was so delicious! We had the crispy brussel sprouts, mac and cheese, 8oz filet, and Joyce Farms chicken. Everything was wonderful. Merwyn recommended the chocolate truffle torte for dessert, which was divine. Highly recommend this gem to anyone staying in the Charlotte area.
Certainly the best dining experience in Ballantyne. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and conversation with our server, Mark Anthony. He was extremely well versed, especially with their great beverage selections.
This restaurant is absolutely fantastic in every way. The food is beautifully presented and extremely delicious! The mocktails are delicious and the "Dealer's Choice" was quite a treat. The potato soup had a good texture and tasted amazing. The Opera Tiramisu was wonderful and paired well with a shot of espresso. The coffee was beautifully arranged with a rock sugar stick for sweetening. I'd highly recommend this establishment. Additionally, our waitress was a sweetheart and very attentive.
The food was good, well priced and the service was on point.
Larry was our server and he was absolutley wonderful. We tried a variety of food as we have never been there before. Outside seating was lovely and the view is very nice. The quail, soup, and lobster pea salad were beuatiful platted and we delicious. The filet was cooked perfectly. The only negative thing is for the side we ordered the potatoes and they needed some additional flavoring, they were pretty bland. The creme brulee was anazing as was their cheesecake. Highly recommend!
I had the avocado bread and my friend had the flatbread with goat cheese, fig jam and arugula. They were both excellent. On Sunday the pancakes with apples and candied pecans was so delicious and that was a tall stack. The vegetable frittata was enjoyed and it was excellent.
A wonderful experience with wonderful people. Patty, the hostess, made us feel so welcome and gave us our special anniversary menus. Larry took excellent care of us, with great recommendations and warm hospitality. It was a beautiful experience for us, celebrating our 2nd anniversary, that isn’t something we do often. The food was delicious and service made it that much better- something that is hard to find these days!
In the lead for top breakfast/brunch spot on my list. It is pricey but worth it. Everything I’ve tried is delicious from the chicken and waffles to the wagyu truffle Smashburger. The truffle fries are the best I’ve had since Mickey and Mooch was around. The only thing I would pass on next time was the $50 truffle and mushroom omelet. It was a little overwhelming- could have used more cheese and less mushroom. And why does no one season eggs?? That aside, even the simple looking little waffle that came on the side was scrumptious. I recommend all day if you want to treat yourself to a great breakfast. PS the service is always great and the ambiance is nice.
We sat outside with a lovely view of the good course and hotel grounds. We started our brunch with pimento cheese sliders , buyer beware though while the menu doesn’t clearly state it , these are mini beef burgers with pimento cheese on top. I don’t mean to detract from the wonderful flavor, quite the opposite. They were a delicious introduction to the forthcoming meal. We shared one and set the others aside, if the forthcoming meal was anything like the sliders we did. It want to temper our appetite too much and miss out on the remainder of our delights. You have to try the Shrimp and grits. Andouille sausage cream intertwined with the southern staple makes the dish velvety smooth and savory. The shrimp are cooked to perfection and large enough they are borderline prawn like. The roasted corn gives the dish a nice texture balance. I have to admit , when it comes to grits, My standards are a bit above the norm. This dish however , both meets the challenge and exceeded my expectations. As a self proclaimed “bacon connoisseur”, you can trust me when I tell you that they have perfected the art. The flavor profile is savory with the correct amount of salt. Thick cut and just crispy enough , they don’t rely on fat to provide taste. The chorizo “hash” is delicious as well, with two eggs made to order. It is a wonderful dish in its own right, but after sampling the shrimp and grits the bar was set too high! The service was superb and we never wanted for anything. Always available without being over bearing. This was our first time here and there is no doubt we will return!
This is a very lovely modern yet comfortable dining room. The menu is excellent, nice variety of wines and we loved the pumpkin crème brûlée for dessert. What really makes the restaurant special is the service. We had a very late dinner and our waiter was thoughtful and made great recommendations. We decided to order a combination of appetizers and entrees for dinner. The pork belly, crab cakes, Brussels sprouts, truffle fries and the scallops were all delicious. The bread is warm, fresh and crusty.
Came here for my birthday, and it most certainly was a blast. We ordered a few items from their menu and the waitress was so kind and funny.
The Gallery Restaurant surpassed our expectations and we will certainly be back for more! Our server was charming, accommodating, friendly and kind. He made wonderful recommendations and always made sure our drinks were full. That tomahawk steak with black truffle was perfectly cooked to a medium rare and absolutely delicious. The mushrooms and garlic were a wonderful accompaniment as was the simply prepared asparagus, which served as a light and crunchy contrast to the juicy meat. That meat was so good, I felt like I was cheating on my husband! We ended with a pineapple upside down cake that was yummy, though nothing to write home about. Overall, we had a wonderful evening and this was the perfect spot for a long overdue date night.
If I could add more stars I would. I travel for work and typically do not pick restaurants that are in hotels or chains but I read the reviews, saw the pictures and wanted to give this a try. Absolutely amazing amazing service I was so impressed with how everyone took care of me it was very unexpected. I ordered the short ribs and they were fantastic as well as the lemon pistachio cake!
Gallery Restaurant nestled in Ballantyne is always amazing. Wonderful service, amazing food, and an elegant atmosphere. Plenty of free parking ...and if you're too full to drive home you can get a room at the luxurious Ballantyne hotel where the restaurant is located. The omelets are made to perfection and are complemented by the Paprika Potatoes which were tender yet crispy.
This is the best duck I have ever had in my entire life. Let me clarify that I eat duck in every chance I get. My girlfriend surprised me by bringing me here for my birthday because she knows how much I love duck. She researched the best and town and I give her major props for actually finding it. After talking to the amazing staff I found out the brine them... And bravo to the chef. Also great manager named Stephen Toth really went out of his way for us. All around amazing experience.
Thanksgiving dinner was fantastic. Awesome service by Gerry. Wonderful Experience cuisine. Highly recommend!!
This restaurant is a solid choice for those staying in Ballantyne Hotel. It is convenient, cozy and has excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Braised octopus on dinner menu was an excellent choice of appetizer. Creme brulee is my go to on dessert menu.
Nice atmosphere. Had a great time with friends. Went at brunch, and they did not disappoint! The dress code is business casual. However, for brunch, it looks like it's a bit more flexible with that standard. Would definitely give this another try.
We went to Ballentyne for something else, but stayed for dinner. We had heard that the Gallery was good...but we met a great waitress, Rowena who then introduced us to Salvatore and then up the chain to Gerry (the manager). The ambiance, food, wine and especially the kindness of all those named made this place very memorable. We will be back.
It's a great spot for lunch if you are nearby. Not a ton of options on the menu. But everything's pretty tasty. Quite enough for a business meeting.
This is a pretty good restaurant. I've been here a few times now, usually for brunch. I enjoy their menu. My recent visit wasn't one of my best. I got the tostada and ordered the egg over hard. When it came out, the egg still had a runny yolk which I can't eat. I was just going to not eat it, but my aunt told me to say something. When I told the waiter, he came back and took the when saying he needed to prove to the kitchen that it wasn't cooked right. That was a little off putting as I would expect them to just bring out a new egg without questioning. They ended up bringing me out an entirely new meal which was very accommodating so I can't fault them too much. If you're in the area, this is a pretty good place to stop. Also note that they have Gingerbread Lane right outside around Christmas!
Ambiance: upscale restaurant with full bar. The area was separated between more-for-dining (tables, brighter, closer to kitchen) and more-for-drink (sofas, high tables, dimmed lights, closer to bar). Not full on a weekend dinner, but recommend to make reservations if possible. The food tasted great except it was a bit too salty for a few of them. Truffle fries - which I did not take photo - worth ordering as side to share. The in-house made ice cream was impressive. Reason for not five stars: - the wait between appetizer and entree was too long. The server was keen on cleaning up the table so there was like 20 minutes empty table from when server collected all appetizer plates to we got entrees. - entree price a bit too high given the portion.
This beautiful restaurant is located inside the Ballantyne hotel. Wonderful customer service. My friends and I went for lunch. I had the shrimp and grits. It tasted amazing, but unfortunately I ended up with an upset stomach.
Gallery Restaurant is definitely worth a visit, especially for the amazing fries and excellent service. While the lamb wasn't perfect, the rest of the meal more than made up for it. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a tasty and memorable dining experience.
Stayed at the Ballantyne. Stopped in for dinner at the Gallery restaurant after the long drive from Jersey to North Carolina. Ended up having a few small plate items. Really enjoyed it. Our waitress Kathryn was nice and attentive too. 3 people approx $400 (inc tip) Charcuterie - can't really mess this up Duck Fat Carrots - could have been a bit fattier Truffle Fries - yum! Crispy Brussel Sprouts - table favorite Approx 8 Old Fashions - SO good! 3 glasses of merlot
The service was great, the ambiance was nice and the food was good. Probably my favorite was the stuffed French toast and a croissant was so fresh and flakey.. for the price I expected wow factor, not bad but probably will not come back. Nothing special.
This restaurant offers a buffet experience reminiscent of 90s classic American fare. While the options were limited, the quality stood out in certain dishes. Among the few proteins, the cocktail shrimp stole the show, along with remarkably delicious mashed potatoes. However, the imbalance between desserts and main courses was noticeable; the dessert spread was vast but overshadowed the protein choices. I also had to limit myself in the vegetable and greens area as I am lactose intolerant and there was not much without dairy. Though enjoyable, the surplus of desserts left me longing for a more balanced variety. Overall, a decent buffet with standout items, but a bit heavy on sweets and light on diverse entrées.
We heard so many good things about the Hotel and the restaurant only to be highly disappointed on our first and last visit to the Gallery. The Valentines meal was terrible. There was a set menu for the holiday which was a terrible mistake. The menu selection was awful. Definitely would have rather spent our $500 at Ruth Chris or the like. This price did not include any alcohol either. The food was tasteless. The presentation was nice, but the food did not match the look. This was by far the worst food experience I have had in years. Nothing bad to say about service. They were pretty good. I would have given the restaurant a lower star rating if it was not for the decor and the service that we received.
We had dinner there, great service and pretty nice restaurant. Sea bass was small and over cooked but was on a bed of spinach which was pretty good. Loved the complementary French bread served with 3 different kinds of soft butter. My wife got the risotto dish, the risotto and asparagus was decent but the but the wild mushrooms had a bad/musky taste which ruined the whole dish, basically tasted bad. The French onion soup was really good. The cheese cake and the ice cream trio was really good. Good coffee too. Our grandson got the chicken tenders, he ate every one of them. I tried them and they tasted pretty good but looked like they came strait out of a frozen box. He also got a fruit bowl which was really fresh and tasty. All of this would have been okay but for the price point I expected better. The resort is really nice, I would definitely stay here again because of all of the other amenities. Awesome room. As far as food goes though, probably need to stick with the bar food. The restaurant has lots of potential but the food is a click off.
Very mediocre food Atmosphere loud and Unimpressive. Not a good value..we expected more
The wife and I were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary. Place was pretty quiet on a Sunday. Wine bottle prices were absurd but the cocktails were reasonable. I had sangria that was tasty but, the bartender went a little heavy on the ice for both our drinks. Server got us to bite on a twenty plus dollar flatbread only to drop us complimentary bread after the fact which felt very intentional and sccumy. Both entrees were very underwhelming. Duck Breast tasted fine but wasn't quite as tender as I'd would have liked it to be (prepared medium) Wife was not impressed with her Lamb shank as it was light on lamb and heavy on potatoes. The really only saving grace was the tiny complimentary cheesecake they gave us which was a nice gesture. Overall, it was a very lackluster experience for what they charge you. A very forgettable fine dining experience.
Trust me, just drive the extra 7 miles or so and head to South Park. I've been here several times as it's by far the nicest bar in the area, however, after having dinner here a couple of times I am convinced that the food is extremely overpriced and very bland. IDK if it's because the area in general lacks soul and flavor or if the chef/cooks are trying to impress with unique meals but don't know how to cook them with flavor. If you come from NY, NJ, Philly, Boston, Chicago, LV, Miami, Orlando, DC etc you will be very disappointed. Very expensive too for what it is and the experience felt very incomplete for a $400 dinner for 2
As a longtime patron pre-covid, we had intended to have a nice day out at Ballantyne resort with dear friends since restrictions were easing up. What followed at Gallery Restaurant was lack luster service, albeit delicious food, decidedly short cocktail menu with little imagination, and trying to enjoy our dinner while a disruptive and extremely loud table was ignored by management and staff for over an hour. This was dispite being told it would be taken care of when we had trouble hearing our server over the racket. All of this resulted in us skipping dessert and after dinner drinks (normally unheard of) checking out early and going home to de-stress. If you go to have a quiet dinner, be warned that chaos may insue instead. The Gallery appears to no longer be a go to venue for date night or a business dinner.
We tried to call before arriving and no one answered. That should have been my first sign to stay away. Friend and I sat at the bar and it took 10 minutes for bartender to acknowledge us. For a higher end place, we expected much better service. We decided to order food anyway. We ordered the crab cake appetizers with mustard sauce on the side. When they came out, the sauce was smeared on the plate under the crab cakes...definitely not on the side. When we asked if sauce was supposed to be on the side, we were met with a steely gaze and attitude from the staff. Entrees were mediocre at best. Grits were cold and reminded us of paste. Side of french fries was best part of the tuna sandwich meal. Overall for a high end resort restaurant, this place did not meet expectations. Wound not recommend to friends.
Went there last night. Started in the bar--drinks were lovely and service was awesome. Moved to the restaurant for dinner. Started off well and the meals were great. After that big party came in from a wedding and they basically made it clear that we couldn't get dessert and they wanted us to leave. So the evening was cut short as the wait staff appeared overwhelmed with the large group. Very disappointing for us because we felt rushed out and were denied dessert.
This was a first and last for us. Ate at the bar, between 4 bartenders and 1 bar back, the service seemed overwhelmed and suffering management that required them to be on the POS machine for 10 mins at a stretch. Couldn’t catch the bartenders attention to order another drink so we kept entertained by counting the number of drinks they made by our empty glasses until they noticed. It was 5. I feel for them. Somebody is making it a miserable place to work and counting on overpriced, under-poured whiskey to make you the margin. Avoid until you see new ownership advertised.
