So delicious! I just had the cheese enchiladas with side of beans and rice. It absolutely hit the spot! Also they have a variety of what tastes like fresh made salsas to self-serve in the restaurant. Very delicious and great quality.
Good service. It is like a local cafe. Food is delicious and portion size generous. Parking is difficult; but street parking available in streets behind the place.
This place is fantastic, its all local and fresh ingredients and you can taste its high quality. The enchiladas and burritos are amazing! And the portions are quite generous. Plus! They provide great service and the company has gone above and beyond to minimized their environmental impact, they are one of the few green certified companies in cupertino. there are just so many reasons to dine here it's always my first choice when I'm craving something filling and delicious.
1st time.. and I have to say damn!! It was delicious we as a group had chicken enchiladas, pork taco and steak burrito. Normally you think of beans and rice as a after thought but we all could have eaten a plate of the beans and rice it was so good actually these were the best beans I've ever had..The guy that took our order was super nice( I can't remember his name). You got check this place out...I well definitely won't be my last!!
The food was good. They got interesting salsas. The service was fast and friendly.
Always fresh and tasty real ingredients! We get takeout every week and our kids love it.
Having lived throughout the Southwest for 8 years,... was surprised to see this little hidden gem. I must be fair, if this was actually IN Santa Fe or Albuquerque it would probably get a 3.5 but hey, it's in Silicon Valley ! Love it. Must try the Green Chile Stew and everything needs to be 'Christmas style' then finish it off with sopapillas. Only knock is they should use some good honey along with it. For the bad reviews regarding this place "trying to change Mexican food' or comparing to other Mexican restaurants nearby.... it is NEW Mexican lol.
Great, clean place for SW food. Very flavorful with lots of salsa options.
I was looking for a place to have dinner on my drive home when i mapped restaurants in the area and this place came up. Its winning feature that got my business? Heirloom tomatoes. They offer a Parmesan crusted flour tortilla quesadilla stuffed with cheese and heirlooms and by golly it was great. I added chicken which made it quite filling. I also ordered an adobe chicken burrito which was a decent size and quite flavorful. Staff was courteous, meal was made swiftly, and they offer like 7 different kinds of salsa that you can choose from that are mild to hot. Green and red. Plus you get complementary tortilla chips to go with the meal whether dinning in or a take out. A place I shall try again.
We are from Phoenix and were looking for Mexican Food near 85S. We were not disappointed! I ordered the Adobe Chicken Burrito, and it was big enough to share. Delicious citrus marinated grilled chicken with plenty of frijoles and rice. The salsa bar is extensive and has lots of variety. I had the burrito guac and sour cream on the side and husband ate them with chips. The food was very fresh tasting and the staff (mom and pop?) were kind and efficient. Highly recommend!
This review is for a catering job last Saturday. We were hosting an event for 50 people. I have always been a big fan of Rio Adobe and frequently have lunch there. So they were at the top of my list for a catering job. I requested a menu with several vegetarian dishes and they created a very good selection. They provided a chicken taco bar, cheese enchiladas, cheese quesadillas, Havasu salad, chips and salsa and guacamole. The most popular items were the cheese enchiladas and the Havasu salad. In addition to the food they lent me some chafing dishes warmed by provided sterno. The food was delivered in a large insulated box. One of their staff set up the food in the chafing dishes and kept the extra food warm in the insulated box. Overall we were extremely happy with the quantity and quality of the food and with the excellent service of delivery and set-up.
Their chips are the best ever. They have a huge salsa bar. I can’t eat spicy and found a very mild salsa it was delicious. I ordered the fish tacos, a recommendation from one of their customers, delicious. I will be coming back here soon. Great experience
Rio Adobe takes their salsa seriously, with a variety of fresh salsas at the salsa bar. The unique plates were particularly good, like the Hopi Blue Corn Enchiladas, a vegetarian dish that balanced sweet corn kernels with tart tomatillo sauce and a flavorful tortilla. Portions were generous, and the beans, rice, and guacamole on platter dishes were great. Also has a few bottled beers and Mexican sodas to choose from.
Absolutely delicious, great service, fast, and great value! I ordered six plates to go for my wife's office, and they were ready to pick up in 15 minutes! My order, the cheese enchiladas, was splendid--super cheesy, with excellent tangy red sauce. Jonas is super friendly and helpful, and printed out a receipt for me after I forgot it when I picked up the order the first time. We will definitely be ordering again in the near future!
Friendly service, great food, free chips with a salsa bar. I went early afternoon and was the only guest at first. By the time I departed, another 6-8 patrons had arrived. The cashier chatted me up briefly, but then also gave me time to eat as he tended to other job duties. I think the food is a GREAT price to taste and quantity shop (aka value)!
We pulled in pretty last min, an hour to spare till the dining room closed. But the food was still great!! My partner and I got the steak pueblo nachos. I'm allergic to avocados and of course asked for no guac. Even though it was late and it would be hella easy to make a simple mistake as forgetting that request, they remembered! The chips and all the fixins were layered really well, lots of cheese, generous amount of meat and fresh salsas. Definitely will return, thanks to the late night staff!
This place is great ! We walked in and mentioned it was our first time there, and Jonah immediately asked if we liked spicy food and then grabbed us samples of Adobada which we immediately ordered along with fish tacos. Free chips and access to the salsa bar are included, and all the salsas were amazing too. I especially liked the spicy corn and black bean salsa. Considering this is an order at the counter restaurant, the hospitality from Jonah was outstanding! The place was busy and he treated everyone with such a welcoming and positive energy and his passion for the food came through from the moment we walked in. We will be back !
Great customer service. Fresh Salsas, every day they told me. The place is great for lunch or dinner. I had a chicken burrito. It has sour cream and guacamole rice and beens. It was good! They tell me that the wet burrito is good. After they Wrap the burrito they add cheese on top after it's been wrapped and then they add a special sauce the one they use on enchiladas and then they put it to bake so the outside cheese melts. Sure sounds tasty I would say!
One D l Mar fish and one Mariscos shrimp taco plate. My wife had chicken quesadilla. The taco plate was excellent. Fish and shrimp cooked perfectly and very tasty. The quesadilla was also very good.
BEST mexican food in the area. Huge portions high quality great service and affordable
I remember when most places had burritos that were as big as the plate, but it's been a while since I've experienced one. Finally, I found a place that makes sure you get a full plate of food and at a reasonable price. And the best part...it is delicious! I will look forward to visiting this location again in the future. A small private hidden gem amongst us. Authentic and with people running it that seem to remember how it used to be and care to still deliver that experience. Worth trying for sure.
Come for the food but stay for the chicken & gecko decorated atmosphere. Free chips and salsa with orders. We go to visit the long-necked chiiiiiiiiiiiicken and the foot dangling chicken. Had a steak burrito and enjoyed every bite.
This place is perfect for vegetarians and vegans! Their rice and beans do not contain any lard or chicken broth. They have a full self-serve salsa bar with plenty of options, as well as more than just one vegetarian menu item. There are cheese enchiladas, the R&B burrito, mushroom quesadilla and more! For vegans I would recommend the R&B burrito without cheese. They can make substitutions here. Any burrito can be made “wet”. The staff here is always really frequently and they serve you for Dine-In after ordering at the counter!
Delicious! My second time here. Everything is homemade and so delicious. The nachos are so big you can't eat them all. Wonderful food and friendly staff!
Stopped here for dinner to kill time during rush-hour and was pleasantly surprised. The burrito was solid. They’ve got a big salsa bar which is awesome, staff are friendly and the order was put together super fast.
One of the most authentic mexican restaurants I have tried in the bay so far. I got the chicken enchilada which was super yummy. The portions are generous for the price. Specially love the variety of self serve salsas they have. Also liked the ambiance of the restaurant which does justice to the type of cuisine served. Would recommend dining.
Born-and-raised New Mexican here, confirming that this place is legit. Great Hopi Blue Corn enchiladas, and real sopaipillas. All the green chile, and they understand a Christmas. You’ve got to visit!
Visited here Apr 30. Service and food were excellent! I elected to get the Carne Adobada Enchilada. Portion was generous for $15.99. Beans were good, rice was well seasoned and the Enchiladas and a good amount of kick to them. Highly recommend and will be visiting again!
A very good Mexican place with tasty food. Carne asada was yummy. They have nice sauces.

We had the platos carnitas and the steak burrito. Both were very delicious and fresh. Highly recommend.
Fresh made salsas and salsa bar selection is stellar. Food is really good too. Outdoor seating if you have a dog. Will be back.

Loaded in favor of meat dishes, it still does have a few good choices for vegetarians (I am one). I would rate this a 3 for veg choices and taste. 4.5 for service-quality, service-speed and cleanliness (meaning hygiene, not spotlessness). Taco, Burrito and salad choices: portions are great as are the prices. Range is salsas and hot sauces. You can ask for dishes to be made spicy (marinated Jalapenos is their strategy but meshes well with the taco/burrito)
Great Mexican food and the only place I've seen with New Mexican enchiladas around here. Really good salsa bar with many choices also. Big sopapilla if you're into desserts good for 2+
I wanted to give 3 stars for the Food, but the service was so good that I gave this place 4 stars. We ordered R & B ( Rice, Bean Burrito), Steak or Beef Taco, & Corn Tortilla soup. I was tiny bit disappointed with the soup. It was 11.95? and I thought it might be good...it did have few pieces of chicken in it ( & corn tortilla) but it was very light...almost very little flavour...the only good thing is I added Pico de Gallo from the salsa bar to give the soup more flavour but I would not get that soup again as it was not very big....wide bowl but shallow so it was not very hot. Overall, kind of bland soup. The R & B Burrito looked good ( Dad got it) and look big. Dad gave me a bite, it tasted good....rice nice and soft and beans were allright..it just overall taste good and flour tortilla was nice and fresh chew like fresh tortilla. But Dad did complain later to me that he wanted more bean paste? I thought it had enough bean but maybe Im wrong. I wanted Dad to try the chicken burrito but it was 13.95? and R&B burrito only 10.95? On the other reviews it said that Chicken burrito was marinated but I might be wrong. The Steak or Beef Taco was around 6 or 6.95 and even tho it had chunks of Beef or alot of Beef, the beef taste like it might be boiled? hmmm. I guess I should have ask if the Beef taco was carne asada because the taco trucks near saratoga have good Carne Asada taco. So the beef just look like it was boiled ( and no where near carne Asada...next time get beef from the taco trucks...not from here). The only good thing is that it look like cubes of Lengua ( if it were really Lengua it would have been a good taco, but no Lengua and boiled beef...) They did give you alot of Beef so I wrap the Beef in a flour tortilla for my mom since she has trouble eating the taco with tiny corn shell, soft shell corn but tiny so beef was overflowing out of the taco. So I used my Flour Tortilla ( which was delicious) from the soup you get a free tortilla which was huge and good Tortilla and wrap the beef for her to eat it. The only good thing about the food is the salsa bar is good. The corn salsa was the best. The Pico de Gallo missing some flavour that day...maybe need to add a little salt. There was one good red salsa ( it has tiny black specs in it...look like black pepper but that was the onlly good salsa). .For the other salsas, something missing. I think they need to add a tiny bit of salt to the salsa. Normally I dont like salt but the salsa and Pico de Gallo missing some salt. Later the nice service guy put out fresh lemons..but still the salsa needs tiny bit of salt. If there is a next time, I will try the chicken burrito for 13.95. The only reason I could think of to why maybe the soup was bland and beef tasting boiled ( from Taco) is maybe nobody wanted to work on this Holiday weekend ( it was Monday Martin Luther King holiday) and we went super early ( right when it opened). Sometimes the cooks in restaurant might be different and maybe they just had a bad cook that day ( that boil beef) and light soup. I just wish if they knew the soup was bland just tell me and I will order the chicken burrito next time.
Our local Mexican restaurant. The flavor is very bold. We frequently have the beef nachos, a good meal for two. I also enjoy the seafood dishes. Their salsa bar is really good with a lot of variety. The owner is very cheerful and orders come out very quickly.
No frills low key Mexican restaurant. Excellent New Mexican food at good prices. Favorite for the table was the special smoked Gouda quesadilla.
A decent cheese enchiladas. The cheese on top.was perfectly heated looked like a Pizza. Overall good taste, Chips and Salsa was complementary! 7.9 out of 10. Good place worth a try.

The server has very nice attitude that gives customers a good day. The food is not as yummy as other Mexican food stores we tried in Bay - shrimp is good but fish and steak can improve more.

Worst tacos ever. Super dry steak and pork (very very spicy). The bathroom was VERY dirty, lost my appetite after tbh
Worst Burrito ever! I ordered Carne asada, they gave me beans and rice with a small amount of short rib. Don't claim it's Carne asada, give me garbage, charge me $17 for rice and beans. Worst place EVER!

The pork tacos were so spicy, they could have powered a small volcano. The beef tacos were drier than my sense of humor on a Monday morning. Only the fish tacos were worth the trip, the rest were a culinary crime scene. Not coming back unless they promise to hire a chef who knows what flavor is!
