Opinions de Purty Kitchen Dún Laoghaire
Excellent food in a reasonable price scale although size wise portions could be bigger 😅 Service was excellent with really friendly hostess and manager checking on the table to make sure we are happy. Food was ready quick. Atmosphere wise - quiet so conversation was not a problem, delicate lighting, comfortable and elegant. I can highly recommend The Purty Kitchen to anyone looking for good food and place to spend time with family and friends.
Stumbled on this amazing little gem down by the harbor. Friendly atmosphere and excellent servers that go the extra to elevate your visit. The food was amazing with top notch flavors, wine pairing, selection and quality. Definitely a stop to add.
We had a beautiful night for three. We started with whiskey, margarita and prosecco. Then, I ordered a rich Fish Pie, with shrimp and prawn. My girlfriend tried Kelly's mussels with bread, while our friend ordered a Purty Kitchen chicken. We also shared Buffalo wings.
This is by far one of the best restaurants I have been to in Dublin area. Fresh food ,local ingredients and amazing service. Such a.well planned delicious menu. I visit Purty kitchen frequently as I travel to Dublin a lot for work. Their fish special is always delicious and creative. Hannah is an excellent server!
Hands down one of the most delicious meals around Dublin. The food is exceptional, top quality, great infusion of ingredients with a great selection on the menu. I honestly wanted to try everything!! Dessert was top notch, great coffee with decent prices too. The staff were incredibly friendly and the ambience was just perfect. Nice cocktail menu which I'll be sure to take advantage of next time. If you haven't been you gotta go! 100 X RECOMMENDED
The Purty Kitchen, Dún Laoghaire – A Fantastic Music Venue! I recently had the pleasure of attending a live music event at The Purty Kitchen in Dún Laoghaire, and I have to say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The venue itself is charming, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The stage setup is perfect for live performances, offering an intimate experience with great sightlines from every corner of the room. The sound quality was exceptional, bringing the performance to life with crystal-clear audio. The staff at The Purty Kitchen were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. They managed the crowd well, ensuring everyone had a great experience while keeping things running smoothly. The food and drink selection was also impressive, with delicious bites and a well-stocked bar that added to the venue’s appeal. The menu caters to all tastes, and everything we ordered was fresh and full of flavour. Whether you’re a music lover looking for a great gig or just want to enjoy a night out with friends, The Purty Kitchen is a top spot. I’ll definitely be back for more live music and good vibes. Highly recommended!
Outstanding from start to finish! The Purty Kitchen nails flavour, service, and atmosphere. Juicy buffalo wings, melt-in-the-mouth fish & chips, and a rare steak sandwich packed with garlic aioli, smoky tobacco onions, and pepper sauce were unforgettable. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and a cosy yet airy setting make this a Dún Laoghaire must visit!
Had a lovely dinner here with friends last night. The restaurant was very full so definitely book in advance if you want to visit at the weekend! We had quite a late booking and the restaurant was still packed (even when we left!). The atmosphere was really lively, warm and friendly. Our food and drinks were also delicious. I had the mussles which were amazing. The sauce they were cooked in was very tasty, the portion was generous and the accompaniments were great! The chicken wings as a starter also have an option to have as a main with chips which looked good and the fish and chips also looked great. I had the house white which is used in the mussle sauce and it was lovely. Really impressed with the food we had. The staff were really fantastic too. Very helpful and prompt. Can't fault the service and our waitress was great.
Amazing fresh and tasty food. Prawns, calimari, cod, muscles and stake cooked to perfection. Wings were a bit vinegary. Desserts were a little underwhelming. They made pea puree without mint on request. Impressive. Atmosphere was authentic and relaxing. Not noisy or over crowded for a weekend dinner.
Popped in for a pint on a blustery day, lovely drop, great ambience and @€5.30 it is a reasonable price too. Small update to the food part, as we eat here on occasion, the food is decent but the menu could do with a change up, the most recent additions of burger/sandwiches have been great! Recommend them along with the calamari and steaks as well.
This is one of my favourite Gastropub in Dublin for a couple of reasons. Have been here so many times randomly as solo or with friends. After a gap of almost 2 years went here again for a Dinner Date on the New Year's Eve and it was refreshingly the same feel. Plenty of menu options for food and drinks which are grand, the staffs are friendly and quick with the order. Fantastic overall service, have always felt welcomed here.
My first time in dun laoghaire and stopped here for lunch. Food was absolutely amazing. Our waitress Luiza was very attentive and always around . The calamari starter was divine so were the mussels. Definitely coming back to the purty kitchen!
Gem in Monkstown cosy family feel tasteful design menu is super robust has exactly what u need perfect for Sunday meal … super fresh produce especially sea food loved everything about it highly recommend !
Had a fabulous lunch there today. The service was excellent too - very attentive, warm & welcoming staff! Thank you to Alex too for showing us around, can’t wait to dine al fresco when the new outdoor area opens up. It looks great! Would highly recommend. Looking forward to going back already.
Good choice of quality food. Everything was served hot & was very tasteful. Service was great, staff were friendly & attentive. Nice buzz around the place on a Sunday afternoon
Feels like a new favourite, as we’ve been waiting for over a year for these guys to open back up… The food, wine and cocktails are all excellent (try the crianza and or off menu for cocktails) …. Decor is beautiful… Music is fantastic…. and the service is second to none, you’d never figure there’s an F&B labour shortage as everyone here is a top notch!
We went in this restaurant for dinner and we found a cool welcoming atmosphere and service. The menu is perfect for all necessities and what we took was tasty ! I highly recommend .
The food is fantastic, the vegetarian options are brilliant. The staff are very helpful and attentive. All in all Its a great place for food and drinks. It's not super cheap, but for food of this quality it's very good value. We will definitely be back.. I would go for the dessert alone.....
Great meal had for a girls night out. The portions were large and tasty. We had the seared tuna with smashed potatoes and peas. The chorizo and prawn linguine, and the fish and chips. The cocktails were very tasty. Wine was good quality and price.
A lovely pub that serves great food. The Purty has gone under a bit of a renovation leaving more room for dining and the restrooms have got a much needed makeover. The food was delicious and the service was excellent, service with a smile even behind the facemasks 😊. A little pricey but good sized steaks eased that a bit.
Great experience. The food was amazing, I highly recommend the steak. A big thank you especially to Lucas and Amit who were very kind and helpful. I ordered cocktails that weren't on the menu and they exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be back.
Lovely place with good food. Some interesting signature cocktails. I gave the Bon Voyage a try and wasn't disappointed.
The food was absolutely delicious. Good selection of French wine, a little bit pricey. Excellent atmosphere. It's definitely a good spot in dun laoghaire to go.
Very good ingredients cooked simply and well. Enjoyed the mussels. Nice buzz about the place and the staff was just lovely.
Great Steak, amazing wine and fantastic staff. After a walk down the Dun Laoghaire pier, we often treat ourselves to a bowl of chowder and a pint of Guinness.
Love the atmosphere, staff are really friendly and attentive. Generous portions. So glad Hillan in the kitchen recommended the prawns.
The second time eating here and the service is always so attentive. Delicious food and lovely atmosphere. They even gave my son a birthday card for his 15th birthday. We'll be back again.
Wow!!! Amazing place to dine in! You have a special event, book a table!!! Highly recommend!!! The starters, main courses, desserts and drinks, everything wow!!!
The Purty Kitchen offers a dining experience that consistently excels in quality and service. The dishes are made with high-quality ingredients that result in truly delicious dishes. The staff are so well trained and provide impeccable service, ensuring that you will feel well looked after from the moment you arrive. Additionally, the warm and cosy atmosphere enhances the overall experience. I have been here for both lunch and dinner and have no hesitation in highly recommending them.
We were at the Purty Kicthen for the specific cuisine tasting menu yesterday. Food, staff, athmosphere- everything was amazing. Will definetely be there again and again.
Very nice place. Our dinner was excellent. The Abercorn salad is definitely worth a try. Service was vg too. Had veggie options and the cider on tap was tasty. Highly recommended.
We stopped to have a bite after a long walk on the coast on Saturday afternoon. We got seated in the back yard. Lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious and the overall service was good. I warmly recommend this place.
Really cozy spot for a casual bit to eat. Food is very good and service is excellent. I really wish it was closer to me. Good wine selection
Really enjoyed my visit to The Purty Kitchen. The food was tasty and the Thursday wine club deal was a lovely surprise! Service from Hannah was excellent. Friendly, attentive, and made the whole evening even better. Definitely worth a visit!
We received a friendly welcome. Because 3 of us have hearing problems a quiet spot was requested. We were offered a few choices and we chose one which suited us. The Guinness and 0.0 Guinness pints were very good. The Duck Wings were good with a very tasty sauce including Hoi Sin. I had the Monk fish which was properly cooked and was presented in some nice pickled veg. The portion of fish was quite small which actually suits me but if you are really hungry you might be better off having something else. The staff members who served us were friendly and efficient and all 4 of us were happy with the night. It did get noisy as the night progressed and the music level went up to an unnecessary level. Our table helped but there was a loudspeaker over our head which made things a bit difficult. This is a fine venue with good food and service. It’s not cheap but not excessively dear. The noise is the only real downside.
We come here fairly regularly as my father in law lives nearby. Recently it was my son's birthday and we had put that on the reservation and when we arrived at the table there was a birthday card for him signed by all the staff. What a lovely touch! We all loved the food and the drinks. Especially the duck wings which were a surprise and a total hit with all of us. Highly recommend the Purty and we will be back soon
Had a really lovely experience at The Purty Kitchen. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, with that perfect mix of traditional pub charm and relaxed dining. The food was genuinely excellent — fresh, well cooked, and clearly made with care. Everything we ordered was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. It’s the kind of place you can settle into for a long lunch or a relaxed evening and not feel rushed. A great spot in Dún Laoghaire — would happily return and definitely recommend to anyone looking for good food and a warm, laid-back vibe.
Was looking for a Sunday Roast in Dun Laoghaire. We discovered the Purty Kitchen and got a Sunday Roast++. Beautiful restaurant, loved the decor and mood. The food was just excellent, my wife's cocktail was excellent. Everything was presented beautifully. However, the staff are beyond excellent, which really made for a great experience. Probably had 5 different people serve us, check in on us etc, every one really warm, friendly and funny. They all seemed genuinely interested in us. I can't really say enough about them, but a very warm Thank You... you made our day great!
Had a lovely evening at Purty Kitchen. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was the best from start to finish. Everyone was so welcoming and attentive, the atmosphere was cosy, the food was delicious, and the service really made the whole evening feel special. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back!
We often come here due to the fantastic service, high quality meals and value for money as the food meets expectations every time. The chefs in this restaurant are really good at their job and the service from staff is always top notch. Would absolutely recommend this place for a really nice meal and a good atmosphere, plus the odd bit of live music makes it a 10/10 spot for a lunch, dinner or cheeky drink. We will be back 😌
The Purty Kitchen (Dún Laoghaire) is a really lovely spot, great location, well maintained, and the soft sailor-style decor gives it a warm, coastal feel without being over the top. Service was excellent from start to finish. Our server’s recommendation ended up being the highlight of the meal: the seafood chowder was genuinely one of the best I’ve had in a long time, rich, properly seafood-forward, and beautifully balanced. Food did take a little longer than I’d normally expect, but not to the point where it spoiled the experience. Everything that arrived did so with style and tasted fantastic: kids’ burger, adult burger, seafood chowder, duo of beefs, plus the shrimp piri piri starter, properly satisfying and well put together. Desserts (apple and lemon curd tart, sticky toffee pudding) were the only letdown; they were fine, but didn’t match the standard set by the mains. It’s a fairly big venue with plenty of seating, but I’d still recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Solid 4 stars, would absolutely return for that chowder alone.
Fish pie and fish & chips were very delicious, but I found the burger a bit below my expectations, a bit on the dry end. Cocktail menu is rich enough and some not very common tastes, peachy & gin one was my favorite. Edit: Tried cauliflower steak and it was amazingly delicious and filling. Highly recommend as a vegetarian option.
Attended a gig here for the first time on Sunday 13th July. Great venue very enjoyable only issue was the non availability of some beers and the running out of 2nd choice beers. Went down stairs after the gig for food and all beers were available. Anna was our server and did an excellent job. Service was quick and friendly. The food was very good and tasty. Would recommend. Very close to the DART station so very convenient to get to.
Cozy spot with a tasty vegan cauliflower “steak”. However, that and a burger are the only vegan/vegetarian options. And service is SLOW —took over an hour to get our food.
Cosy gastro pub grub. Very welcoming attentive staff. Menu is well curated, many dishes to return to try. I chose the cauliflower steak, tastefully spiced and accompanied with lentils, almonds and hummus. Pleasantly repleat afterwards.
Had a power cut while we were there and while we had a great night they could have done a better job of serving drinks - I believe to problem was down to not being able to ring up the sale on the til, that could have been sorted afterwards!
Got the burger today, 31st August 2025, it was ok, chips were lovely but very small portion , I mean it’s potato’s the cheapest ingredient of any meal, why scrimp on that?, so more chips, and jazz up the burger a bit, use your imagination!
Always a safe bet for really good food and a very nice location- however last night the service wasn’t great - had to ask for menus after waiting about 15 minutes at the table - requested condiments were forgotten about and had to chase the bill and then chase payment - staff were pleasant but went missing on occasion. Still a nice evening and always a good option.
Updated 2025: food still very good but the front of house letting everything down sadly.. Very poor experience tonight. 25 minutes between courses. Never brought drinks that were ordered. Never came back with dessert menus etc. Just all very disconnected.. Hopefully owners or management read this. The chef has saved this from being worse. Updated 2021: went for early evening food with a friend. The food, service, and atmosphere was incredible. 5/5. The calamari was the best I've had. 2019: Top quality food and excellent service. Lovely atmosphere for afternoon lunch or dinner. The burger is gourmet. House red was delicious. Will certainly return soon. Insider tip - Plenty of free weekend parking directly over the railway tracks from the pub. You can then use the pedestrian foot bridge to walk there in a couple of minutes.
We booked a table for 6:45, assumed everything was fine but when we called to double check just there it turns out their automated system didn’t register so we actually don’t have a table for this evening. Bin this inefficient AI crap and go back to serving customers the right way over the phone or go out of business which is what you deserve quite honestly
