Updated. After years of coming here Joey's is still one of the Best Italian-American restaurants in town. The best antipasto plate around, Try the Calamari Scampi, you won't be disappointed. If you looking for the best Risotto in town this is the place.Great food Excellent service. Staff is attentive and pleasant. Get there early it's always busy. It's always top notch in my opinion.

Went for dinner for our anniversary. We started with the calamari scampi and a meatball salad. I had the swordfish risotto special and my husband had the veal & chicken capicola. Everything was delicious!

We had our wedding at Joey's party house 3 weeks ago. Ronnie the party house manager was excellent and everything was PERFECT. We recieved rave reviews from our guests about the food. I would highly recommend anyone having a smaller gathering of 50 people or less to Joey's..

We held our 40th wedding renewal at Joey’s Party House. The food and service were outstanding! Ronnie does a wonderful job and is extremely easy to work with. Beautiful event!

We (party of 4) had very good and fast service. I did not see any reserved handicap parking, however the parking lot is flat, paved, and will handle wheelchairs without a problem. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, although the entrance is a bit narrow with a sharp turn. The seating is almost entirely at tables. The restrooms are single occupancy, separate men's and women's, and very roomy.

Love this place! Coming for dinner is always great and there is even more room for seating now after the most recent renovations. We also had our engagement party next door at the party house and highly recommend that for private events.

Had our first visit to Joey's last night: A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. appetizer of fried calamari veal french over linguine with a salad... Our server was also amazing... Very attentive and very friendly....every star rated was effortless earned and gladly given. The cuisine was simply delicious

We had a surprise 60th birthday party at Joeys Party house and it was amazing. The food was so good. Portions were great!! The service was fantastic. Ronnie and Courtney were so friendly and prompt. We would recommend Joeys to any one who is looking for a place to have a small private event. We had around 40 people and fit great for a cocktail style party!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Used Joey's Pasta House Catering for our wedding in Batavia... 1000000/10 recommend. The only thing I wish is that I got to eat more of it during my wedding. AMAZING food. I was shocked how great it held up for our wedding too. We were thrilled that it was truly the best wedding food we have ever had - and it made us extra happy since it was our wedding! Ronnie was so great to work with - she was kind, patient, communicative, helpful, and overall amazing. It was incredibly affordable and delicious. Can't say enough good things. Can't wait to come to the restaurant and get the penne vodka!

My wife and I absolutely love this restaurant. Have gone multiple times and get a perfect meal every time. My wife has gotten eggplant Parm every time and loves it and I have tried the scallops, the chicken and veal capicola and a risotto of the day and each one has been better than the last. The perfect date night restaurant. The wait staff is always extremely friendly and the perfect amount of attentiveness without being intrusive.

In Rochester for business and staying in the Penfield area. I asked the front desk for a place to get pasta and meatballs and have a drink. They recommenced Joeys and said it was only a couple miles away. I walked in and got a seat at the Bar. It was busy with the happy hour crowd at the bar but thinned out quickly. The dinner crowd was replacing them. it was busy. I ordered a drink and then ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. They brought out bread with oil and I also ordered a bowl of Fagioli s soup. It was very good. The tomato sauce with meatball was also excellent. I do recommend this place if you want a good meal. When I return to this area I will come back here..

This is my favorite Italian. I'm not saying it is the best in the area, at least top few. The service was really great. The waiter came when we needed and left us alone when we were enjoying our meal. The food is OUTSTANDING. I had a beef tips special of the day, so good. My wife had the risotto special and they do risotto well. We both enjoyed our meals and never have room for dessert. The dining area is a bit cramped, but worth it. I recommend Joey's Pasta House for a family meal, meal with friends, or a date night.

Everything was exceptional The servers were charming, knowledgeable, attentive. Cocktails were great. Dinner was incredible. I had Terre e Mare and it was a feast. Scallops were huge and dlicious. The chicken was moist and delicately seasoned. My wife's salmon was perfectly cooked and was a generous portion. Will return with pleasure.

My sister took me here for my birthday and the food is phenomenal ! The canoli cake is to die for so delicious, I cant say enough about this restaurant !! I will be back!!

The food was amazing. I had the Veal and chicken capicola and my fiancé had the Sausage Arrabbiata and they were both delicious. Awesome service and a great family environment. Would recommend to anybody who likes authentic Italian cuisine.

My boyfriend brought me here for the first time. I have nothing but great things to say about our experience! The food was awesome, our server, Morgan, was super nice and attentive, and the atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable. I ordered the scallops and he got the filet. Best scallop dish I've had in so long!! We also tried the fried calamari and stuffed meatball appetizers. Those meatballs are incredible. Huge thumbs up to the chef! We will definitely be back and I will be recommending Joey's to all my friends and family!

We have been here a few times now and with the same server and she is just amazing! Food is always perfection as well, it is now one of our go to places for Italian! Be sure to make a reservation though!

We live in Webster but make the trip to Penfield to eat at Joey's at least twice a month. Best Italian food in the area I try to try something different every time I go and never leave disappointed or hungry. The food is absolutely fantastic and the weight staff knows what they're doing. Absolutely fantastic every time!

Wonderful Experience! Just happened to be in the area and asked a local couple where a nice place to have dinner would be. They suggested Joey's Pasta House and I'm so glad they did! The prices are reasonable, the food prep and quality are wonderful, the staff is fantastic and the Desserts are definitely a Not-to-be-missed item!!

Joey's Pasta House was an amazing place to land for dinner. After leaving a different restaurant, I called Joey's and asked if they were able to get me in on a Saturday evening without a reservation. They were very kind and told me to come in even though they didn't have any available reservations. My husband and I both had delicious meals, wine and dessert. Our waitress was attentive and friendly.

Had dinner with friends recently. Everyone enjoyed their dish. I had the special pork osso buco. It was perfect, tender and flavorful. Good size portions on all meals. Reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Bill was attentive without being intrusive. It was a full house that night so the place had a high energy level. And even though it could have been loud it wasn't due to the table layout. You still get a sense of privacy at your table. Only downside was the restaurant could use a little more decor, something festive for the holiday would be nice. All in all a good solid 4+. Definitely coming back.

The food at Joey’s pasta house is incredible! You can tell they have high standards for good quality food. Even from the way the food is presented and plated- you can tell they care. Everything we’ve tried is delicious and the mushroom risotto and gnocchi in vodka sauce are especially good. We are very lucky to have such a talented, commendable chef and team right here in Penfield. 10/10 recommend.

We had lifelong friends up from South Carolina for their first tasting of Joey's food. They were not disappointed! the atmosphere is relaxing but not pretentious, dress casual, and enjoyable. The staff is amazing! they know the menu inside and out and make recommendations based on personal preference. If you aren't interested in dinner, they have a cozy bar area to grab cocktails. Sam, the bartender, has been there since they opened approximately fifteen years ago. He loves to talk sports, especially baseball. The food portions are large and cooked to perfection.

There's not a bad thing I can say about this place. I've loved it for years, thanks to my grandparents. They have the BEST vodka sauce pasta you can get. The staff is always super friendly and service is usually very quick. Highly recommend for anyone going on a nice family dinner (maybe not great for very little kiddos) or a nice romantic dinner!

My husband ordered the seafood fra diavalo & I the sea bass special. Our dinners were fabulous. They were delicious in flavor and piping hot. Our server, William C., was attentive and friendly.

Been here twice now, once for a birthday, on New Year’s Eve, given the day, thought it would be more hectic and hard to get in, but it was very simple to make reservations, and only a very short wait time. And other time was just the other week. Again very short wait. The food both times was GREAT. My only negative was when ordering at the bar while waiting and asking what kind of rum they had, the older gentleman i assume maybe owner looked at me like a had 10 heads and rolled his eyes when asking about sailor Jerry, and when told no, asked if I could have Captain and was told no….yet it was literally right behind him, and had an attitude. Other than that, and the poor mixed drinks….the food was great and will be back soon.

We own a tree service and we were doing estimates in the area. Asked the customer where they would go and honestly this was one if the best take outs I have gotten in a long time. The sheer convenience of having a side door and online ordering. But let me tell you, the food was to die for. I cant wait to come back and eat in person. Thanks for a great meal!!

Ronnie was truly amazing when it came to accommodating our party on 6/7. She answered every question I had leading up to the event and met with me on several occasions to brainstorm setup. She was very friendly, professional and flexible. The day of the event Ronnie and her team did an amazing job with our reception. They helped with setup,vendor questions and everything went absolutely seamless. We opted for the plated meal and it did not disappoint. The portion sizes were great, the food came out warm and everyone received their right meal. I cannot speak highly enough about the venue, staff and service. Great spot for a date night. The food was delicious, drinks were made well and my favorite part was the excellent service by our server Erica. She was charismatic and really made the experience personal. We happened to be there when it was very busy and they still accommodated us. The only thing is prepare to bring some $$$. You know the food is going to be good when your server tells you it's the actual owner who's in the back cooking your food. Everything was delicious! Be sure to save room for the cannoli cake. It's fantastic!

Restraunt was clean, staff was polite, we had a reservation and we were seated immediately. They accommodated our child quickly with a high chair. Bread was yummy, salad was delicious with their house oniony dressing. My dish was OK (forget the name but something with sausage in it that was sliced sausage not ground as I thought, but others in my party loved what they ordered! Definitely willing to go back and give it another try!

Went to Joey's tonight with my son and daughter in law before he ships out for another 3 year stint in the Army. We sat in the main dining area. Our server Katrina was excellent. Our dinners were outstanding with all of us taking home leftovers due to the large portion sizes. The only drawback was it was very loud and it was sometimes difficult to carry on a conversation. However that will not stop a return visit.

The service and food was very good. It fell a little short on atmosphere. The decor was very nice but it was very loud. We were seated more toward the bar area which may have made a difference but in walking to and from our table didn't notice much of a difference. Don't let that discourage you though unless a quiet atmosphere is your main reason for a great dinner for two. As far as food and service, you will not be disappointed and servings are very large.

We had a nice evening out at Joeys. The scallops and shrimp scampi was excellent as was the chicken marsala. Both tasted fresh and homemade and very light. The atmosphere is a little cramped, and service was a little slow, but nothing that made our evening less enjoyable. It was a great meal and we will be back

My wife and I had a very nice evening out together and truly enjoyed dining at Joey's. The atmosphere and decor was warm, inviting and comfortable. Our server, Lauren, was very nice, friendly and regularly checked on us. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because my wife ordered the panko crusted stuffed chicken and it seemed to be lacking chicken and the bottom of the crusted chicken was hard and difficult to cut through. Was not the meaty chicken we were expecting especially for $25. Yes we should have said something when we were there and I am sure they would have made it right, seems like the type of restaurant that would have made it right. Our bad, but we will be back.

Picked this place because they had alot of gluten free options. The service was great. The atmosphere wasn't bad just a little noisy . I had the shrimp and scallops scampi. Flavor was good. I think the scallops were undercooked as they were kinda gray and I wouldn't eat them . Even if they were cooked through they looked unappetizing. I would still recommend going there. Everyone else's meal was good and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Came here for a pre-valentines type of dinner last night and it’s surprisingly roomy inside yet it feels close and intimate and in areas cozy. Really cool bar with good selection of wine and cocktails, beer if ordered. All the staff seemed happy and attentive. The tortellini Gorgonzola was INCREDIBLE. One of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had and if we went again I’d have to order it again. Calamari was perfect. Fresh and crisp. Not soggy and not sitting in oil or pepper juice like other places. The bread and oil was a great starter- fresh soft bread was warm and complimented the olive oil and herbs superbly. Lobster bisque was thick and filling- very rich. Glad I finally came here. I drove by this place hundreds of times over the years going to work and back home on 441 and can’t believe just now I’ve been here.

The food was very good. The waiter was a problem. He was very pushy and rude. We were a party of 5 woman and he kept rushing us to order and then at the end he was in such a hurry for us to pay our bill. They had no regular tea that one of the ladies wanted and Very limited dessert selection. All in all it was good but would not want to have the same sever if I went back.

This was our first visit on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was very busy and we waited a few minutes in busy traffic area. The owner was very pleasant, greeted us and tried to make us feel welcome. After being seated things went down hill. The wait was excessive for every phase of the meal. No butter on the table but there was oil & vinegar (should offer both). It took over 40 minutes to get our main courses. We were not offered more bread or and apology for the long wait until our meals arrived. Our server was invisible (she was pleasant but did nothing to comfort the excessive wait). My wife got lasagna which was good size and tasty. My chicken marsala was tasty also but rather small. I ate it in about 3 minutes after the long wait. BIG issue was the noise! We could not hear each other without shouting. We reverted to reading lips. By far the loudest restaurant ever! I believe fabric room dividers between every other table or so would provide some privacy and sound deadening. The other issue was the temperature. We nearly froze to death however the air vent was just above our table (a simple fix-why didn't they?). I put my jacket on and was still cold (I am usually not cold at restaurants). In short, a very pleasant owner, nice atmosphere, good food but inconsistent portion sizes (some large, some too small), long wait for food, fair to poor service (due to wait), very loud to the point that everyone had to be loud, and don't sit by the A/C vent. We have many excellent Italian restaurants in Rochester. I think this one has potential but the kinks should be worked out here.

First I felt our waiter was way too pushy. We were five women celebrating a birthday and we were there for less than 90 minutes which I don’t feel was a long time. He rushed us to order and rushed us to pay our bill. The others liked their food and it was served hot. I felt that my shrimp and scallops scampi was okay but pricy at $27 for three shrimp and two small scallops. There were only three choices for dessert and two of them were connoli and when offered tea the only option was green tea. When one of the diners said they preferred black tea they were told they didn’t have any because it didn’t sell well. Seriously how much is a box of tea? On top of the noise level making conversation difficult I’m not in a hurry to go back.

Chicken French was way too lemony. It was fabulous when I had it at a function in the party house but this was no where near that recipe. This was so disappointing as my friend and I look for the best places that have the best chicken french and I chose this place. Didn't look good for me and my choice!

Food was amazing, delicious.... But had to wait a hour and a half to get it. Not sure if our waitress was having a rough night. But was our first time. Food was so good that I'm willing to try it again.

Pasta was delicious and fresh as I expected with handmade pasta, however, the dishes seemed overpriced and the chairs not so comfortable. We were able to get a table without a reservation which was good but that's also because it was on a weeknight. I really don't have anything bad to say per se it just didn't feel like I was getting the value for the money. Again food was completely amazing!

We went on a Thursday night around 6pm. There was a good amount of people there but still quiet a few tables open. It took over 15 minutes to place our drink order and it was because we had to stop one of the waitresses passing by our table. The bartender ended up being our waitress and she was very nice but it took awhile to order anything because she was busy at the bar. Absolutely nothing against her, seemed unfair to her that she was the only bartender for the restaurant and our waitress. Once we placed our orders they came in a decent amount of time. Loved the bread and oil that they give you! The food was okay (the red sauce wasn't to our liking), atmosphere was nice, and employees were friendly, just not sure if it was worth the high prices. Not sure if we will be back again but can see why people like to go there.

Long wait. We were there for over an hour. It was loud and crowded. My chicken french tasted like my own vomit but I still thought it was okay.

Lobster bisque was very good! Wife loved her chicken Joey but my vodka sauce.. might be the worst vodka sauce I’ve had in Rochester. It was bland and just tasted off. I would definitely go back but change my meal choice.

My family held a wedding party at the Party House at Joey 's as a venue. The food is certainly good as I returned within the year for dinner and drinks with coworkers. As a party we were there late into the evening and the atmosphere was dark, pleasant, and offered an quiet intimacy with family and friends. As a young person in the area I remember attending the old "Home of Champions" during the Ryder Cup and prom years. I can certainly tell you that the food is better than I remember the old standby ever was. The service was okay. I always find the types of individuals who work at these places to be somewhat lacking in demeanor. I would categorize it as a rude, insular energy from the old world. I plan on visiting in the future.

A trusted friend recommended Joey's, and my sister and brother-in-law had been there many times. So maybe hubby and I had an "off" night, but we agreed, it was a "3" at best. I ordered the Sea Bass. Taste was good, but it was cold. Server was very responsive and got me a new one. That one was hot, and good, but I've had much better elsewhere. The rest of the meal was meh--I wasn't impressed. It certainly wasn't bad, and the service was *very* good. But for the price, I wouldn't go there again.

We went on a Monday for dinner. The restaurant was busy but we didn't have to wait for a table. The restaurant was extremely noisy. I can't imagine how loud it would be on a weekend with people at the bar waiting for tables. I had the pasta special and it came out barely warm. It was a bake and the cheese on top was completely melted. It looked like it was thrown in the microwave for a few seconds to warm up. Not my idea of good Italian food. My wife ordered of the menu and her dish had the same sauce, but at least it was hot. The are so many choices in Fairport and E. Rochester that are far better

My mother ordered the food for pick up. I arrived and there was a bit of confusion about the order even though I gave the correct name that the order was under. They ended up finding the order and brought it out to my car, but didn’t bring out the whole order. Figured it out once we got home. Whoever we talked to on the phone was rude and made it seem like it was our fault. The food was good, but it didn’t seem like they cared that the screw up was on their end. They did end up offering a gift card

I have been going to Joey's for years, and frequently have had and enjoyed their steak filet dinner As an informed consumer, I recognize that restaurants have recently had to either increase their prices to cover the increased cost of meats, or maintain their prices and lowered the quality of their meats. Unfortunately they seem to have taken option two with their steak fillet dish. Tonight 's offering was dry dry and almost flavorless. Same menu price, but much reduced quality. I will not be returning to Joey's for filet in the near future

Was excited to try this place based on good reviews but was pretty disappointed. When we got there it took about 5-10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us. The employees kept walking past us ignoring us. A simple “someone will be with you shortly” would have been nice. Penne vodka did not taste like vodka at all. Honestly tasted like they served us mac and cheese

We ordered two different pasta dishes both were extremely salty. Gnocchi and spaghetti and meatballs. Everything else was good.

I've heard great things about this place and was very disappointed. It's in a house so small is to be expected. However, we had to hover at the bar to get a drink and in order to let anyone else get a drink we had to stand in the area that is a direct line from the kitchen to the dining area. It's awkward to say the least. We had 6:45 and were seated right away when the rest of our party arrived. We sat upstairs and our waitress was good. I know it probably took me 15 minutes to decide what we wanted but when the waitress came back at 8:10 to let us know our food would be out any minute, I was over it. To top it off only 1 out of 4 meals was above lukewarm and the gnocchi were half cooked. We wont go back.

Disappointing at best! I ordered linguine with clam sauce and it was not good. I expected a nice sauce made with wine and olive oil with garlic and onion in it…along with minced or chopped clams. What I got was a bowl of pasta floating in what I assumed was beef broth with a couple of tiny pieces of onion in it….topped with a dozen steamed clams. It was tasteless other than the saltiness of the beef broth. So disappointing. I will likely not go back.

Place is an absolute joke. I’ve never had poorer service in my life. For the prices you have got to be kidding me. And their so called manager is all about 15 years old. I don’t know where they got the servers from because they are an absolute joke. So unprofessional. Food was a sloppy mess and disgusting. There are so many Italian restaurants in Rochester. Don’t waste your money.

We made reservations in advanced and we're looking forward to our night out finally. However 3 simple drinks took 25 minutes and our food took so long we missed the comedy show we had already paid for :( .The couple we went with was there first time there and I feel terrible it was my suggestion to go here. The new manager that was seating people had terrible customer service. His way of remedying the situation was boxing up our food we waited well over an hour for. When the food finally did come it was good, but the customer service is reason enough we will not be returning or recommending :(

Picked up dinner and it wasn't good at all. Chicken French was average at best and the bolegnase was the worst I've ever had, the sauce was so bland it couldn't have even come out of a jar. There was maybe a quarter cup of ground beef in the sauce. The pick up door at the back of the restaurant is literally the backdoor to the kitchen. You knock on it like ur asking for scraps and then wait outside the restaurant until someone from the front comes back there to cash you out( which took 10 min)....the food was sitting there the whole time. Definitely won't go back.

We were seated upstairs and my veal Parmesan arrived lukewarm at best. Turns out there is an up charge for a house salad or lobster bisque. The waiter never told us about the up charge - $7 for the lobster bisque! The receipt did not detail any up charge - it just showed the veal Parmesan was $37 when the menu price was $30. We called the restaurant and were told it was clearly stated on the menu. Looking at the online menu, I still do not see the $7 up charge for lobster bisque. It did taste good but only had two tiny pieces of meat. Definitely not worth it. It should be required for the server to mention this but the manager on the phone said it would take too long for him to tell customers. So the fact that the food is over priced, some food was not even warm and they hide their up charges, I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning. I think the $ rating should be moved from $$ to $$$ signs .

Our server Chris seemed nice. He seemed flustered and in over his head. We could tell hes rather young and inexperienced. We gave our orders, mind you we asked for a couple ingredients not be added and he must've forgot to tell the cooks. But we didn't want to make our night that much longer to get a new dish because we had waited long to sit down as it was. It's customary for a server to come check on us and if everything is ok and he didn't really ask about any refills of bread or water. We had ordered some drinks that took a while to get but they were great. We'll try this place again, but hopefully with a more experienced server.

We have been customers for a while now, and have always enjoyed their ambiance, customer service and food. However - HOWEVER - we had reservations for four adults for Valentine's Day (2019) evening and the service was disappointingly awful. We had to wait for our table, and our waitress for the evening was tired and non-attentive to the point where we ended up having to ask other staff members for drinks, bread for the table, and status of where our food was. Not once was our table approached to ask if we needed anything or to see how we were doing. When we needed something, we asked another staff member. The food, when finally delivered to our table was very good, however the red sauce tasted more like a "fast sauce" than when you usually get. Our reservation was for 6:15 PM - but we didn't leave until after 9 PM because the service was so poor. We called the next day to let them know our concerns, and the call was addressed with sympathy and many apologies. We were told that we would be mailed out two gift cards (one for each couple) as a way of making it up. The second gift card never came - when we called to ask about it, the person who took my call was rude, arrogant and sarcastic. No matter to them that we spent almost $200 for our dinner that night - we were told that only one couple would be compensated. He might as well of hung up on me because his telephone manner could not have been more condescending. Joey's Pasta House customer service is going down hill. Customers lost.

Former frequent patron, now won’t go back. It pains me to write this because we live around the corner, but tonight was the final straw, my wife found a large shard of glass in her escarole, the picture is shown, and we got barely an apology. On top of that they forgot one of our entrees. Even before the glass incident we have been disappointed with the service at Joeys which has been steadily declining for some time, so bad that we either ordered out or request to sit by the bar because the bartenders are much more attentive than any of the servers.

Food wasn't that good. I feel that's its over rated for the price we paid

I first tried the calamari and it was way to salty and made me almost vomit. I’m very sad to write this review as a bad one as I was looking forward to this dining experience.

The malbec wine listed on the menu was substituted with another Malbec for the same $30 bill without any comment from the server. I am used to 100% markups on wine but not over 300%. ( I looked up the retail price) The food was basic Italian that was not anything worth the price paid. We will not return.

I have never eaten food from a restaurant that was so tasteless and tasted NOTHING like it was supposed to taste. The vodka sauce looked like it was made with heavy cream and a dash of marinara. Tasted like a plain cream sauce; no taste of pancetta or the onions, absolutely horrible!! The escarole, beans and sausage were so salty that I could not eat it. . The garlic bread was salty. The soup tasted like garlic water. I’ve had better soup out of a can. I’m completely astonished that this restaurant is still in business . I’m embarrassed for them that they call themselves in Italian restaurant Don’t waste your time or your money. You will be fully disappointed. Disgusted!!!!!!
