Food was great love the drinks great service.went with my buddys
The plan was CPK. Safe. Predictable. Beige, but edible. You know the vibe. You go in, you eat, you leave, you forget it ever happened. But fate had other ideas. We rolled out of the parking structure, which just so happens to sit directly across from Tavern, and for a Friday night, the street felt strangely calm. Not dead, not wild, just… open. Like the city itself was leaning in and whispering, “You don’t have to do the same thing tonight.” Then my wife spotted the birdhouses outside. Now, I don’t claim to be superstitious, but I am absolutely suggestible when something feels like a sign. And right then, that was the sign. I’ve always been the kind of person who follows the side quest instead of the main storyline, so I did what any reasonable adventurer would do. I turned toward Tavern. Through the windows, I could already see people laughing, leaning into conversations, the kind of energy that says, “Yeah, this place knows how to start a night.” The second we stepped inside, nostalgia drop-kicked me straight into my chest. I hadn’t been in a proper gastropub in years, and this place didn’t try to be flashy or over-designed. Instead, it felt effortlessly cool. Snappy signs. A chic but cozy aesthetic. Random treasures everywhere. And then… the carousel. Yes. A literal carousel hanging from the ceiling, filled with bottles of booze like some magical, slightly irresponsible chandelier, floored, flabbergasted. It felt like someone took all the best memories of college nights and distilled them into a room. We sat down, and within seconds, a smiling bartender with a beautiful accent appeared. “Hello, my name is Olga. I’ll be happy to help you.” Instant warmth. No forced cheer. No robotic script. Just real, human, let’s-hang-out energy. We ordered a couple of beers, and she showed us the QR code menu at the bar. But we did what we always do. We asked the real question. “So… what do you eat here?” Because if you want the truth, you don’t read the menu. You ask the people who are trapped with it. She didn’t hesitate. “The tortilla soup is honestly the best I’ve ever had. We just made bacon-wrapped shrimp. And the wild mushroom flatbread is killer.” That’s not a suggestion. That’s a prophecy. So we ordered all three. The shrimp came with fries, and Olga, clearly invested in our destiny, offered an upgrade: garlic parmesan, truffle parmesan, or sweet potato with spicy chipotle mayo. We chose sweet potato, because life is short and fear is optional. About 10 to 15 minutes later, the food arrived. And wow. First, the tortilla soup. Not a sad, watery afterthought, but a full-on main character. Huge chunks of chicken. A broth so rich in umami it felt like it had stories to tell. The cilantro added just the right brightness, and the fresh tortilla strips on top created this beautiful chaos of textures. Every spoonful felt like comfort, like wearing a leather jacket. Then the bacon-wrapped shrimp. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, still steaming as they’d sprinted straight from the kitchen. The sweet potato fries stood tall in the center, flanked by ranch and chipotle aioli. Sweet, smoky, salty, spicy. It was a flavor symphony, and everyone was playing at once. And then… the finale. The wild mushroom flatbread. Drizzled with what tasted like an expensive balsamic glaze, kissed with truffle oil, and topped with fresh arugula. Creamy white sauce, gooey cheese, roasted mushrooms that actually tasted like mushrooms. But the real hero was the dough. Crisp yet soft, rich with that “someone’s grandma guarded this recipe” energy. Maybe I’m getting poetic. Maybe I’m being dramatic. But I expected “ok” bar food and a couple of beers. Instead, I found a place that felt like it already knew me. They understood my cravings before I did. Tavern on Brand didn’t just feed us. It welcomed us. CPK can wait. We found our new side quest
My friend and I were visiting the city and chose this place based on some reviews that we read on Google. They both ordered the same thing the clubhouse sandwich. I had sweet potato fries and they did not disappoint as they were perfectly cooked. The sandwich is very good. The music was even better it is a great selection that the wait staff had chosen. I would definitely go back.
Tavern on Brand combines a trendy environment with a broad menu that includes burgers, steaks, and innovative appetizers. The atmosphere is vibrant, making it ideal for both quick bites and leisurely meals. Highly recommended for quality food and a convivial vibe.
I was only in there for drinks once I saw they had Guinness on tap that pretty much drew me in didn't get to try the food kinda wish I did the options looked pretty good from what I seen other people ordering
The food here was fantastic, and the service made the experience even better. The specials are worth asking about, and while it’s usually a lively sports bar, lunchtime made it easy to grab a table without waiting.
Such a great spot that fills a niche in the neighborhood; it has that perfect tavern/bar feeling. Highly recommend them for larger reservations or private events!! Communication is great with management. The whole team- and especially Jackie- were so great accommodating our large event group last week. Service was fast and the drinks are delicious. Lots of nice outdoor seating as well, and well-placed TVs to watch any game or fight.
It was kind of a blind date and this was my first time at The Tavern on Brand. We ordered Ceviche and it was simply amazing. I ordered a Amaretto Collin’s and the bartender had never made it before…now that was very tasty and made perfect. Our waitress was very sweet and kind. Overall, the whole experience was very enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone.
Just had my first experience with this place and I am so pleasantly surprised and impressed! The staff is absolutely amazing. Very attentive and super friendly. A breath of fresh air for what I’m used to in LA. We didn’t have to wait for anything. Great service! The food is great and didn’t take long to come out. The drinks are good too! My husband got a Bloody Mary and I’m usually not a fan at all but THIS ONE was amazing! Shout out to Jordan 👏🏻 I can’t stress enough how great the staff is here. And the food!!! Chefs kiss. We will absolutely be back! My husband and I just moved to Glendale and this place is within walking distance, so we just found our new favorite bar!
Fantastic spot! In town for work and stumbled upon this pub. They had a fun live jazz band playing, other great live music on different nights according to the lineup. Service was top notch, it was a Tuesday but still bustling, and the 2 tenders were on top of it the whole time. Cook was great as well, has some appetizers with our drinks and they were great quality. Atmosphere was fun, chill but lovely. They have some TV's for the games and a wide variety of high end and often hard to find spirits, which is what drew us in! We enjoyed some tasty bourbon and cocktails, all spot on! I highly recommend stopping in for a bite a drink, you won't be disappointed!
Very good burgers at this place. I ordered the smash burger and was not disappointed. Came out quick too on a Saturday afternoon. They used to do 2 for $6 beers from 12-7pm and it was the best happy hour ever. The place used to be packed all the time. Unfortunately, that’s long gone. I paid $8 for a modelo draft. Hope they come up with a good happy hour again, the place was pretty dead when I was there at 2pm on a Saturday
Went here for a private event - Half the bar was booked for a private event and the other half was for public dining. Appetizers are good - had the chicken nachos. Beers were ok - got a bunch of your traditional stuff I don’t think there was something that knocked my socks off. I think the real appeal of this place is the location. It’s right on brands and has indoor and outdoor seating. People are very friendly and the staff are very respectful.
Looks pretty much like it used to. BUT it's been a while. Rather empty. AND it was lunchtime! Happy Hour food not as great, but still good. Of course prices are Up but better than others. I wish they had happy Hour fries STILL! Music mix now a little too hipster. But not overwhelming so.
This probably my favorite bar on brand. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. Thursday night was acoustic night. Singer was fantastic. I had the bbq chicken pizza and they made it to order (even though they typically pre make them) so kudos to the kitchen. Bartender kept the glass full and was super nice. There is a gal bartender whose smile is infectious. She’s always got a smile and is very attentive to the patrons. Liked this place so much, I went back Friday. It was around 10 pm, so everyone was chilling. I got the Philly cheesesteak. I asked for some modifications and the kitchen nailed it again. Same lady bartender was working wearing the same great smile. For the price, service, and food choices, I would highly recommend this place.
Swung by here for some drinks and apps on a weekday evening. The outdoor patio seating is perfect when the weather’s nice, but there’s also bar and table seating inside. Staff was friendly and service was good. Really loved the vibes, great live music. Drinks and food was on the pricey side. The jalapeño poppers tasted like cheap cheese but the chicken quesadilla was delicious. There’s metered parking on the street and some garages nearby. Would recommend you stop by and try.
Found this place via the door staff at my hotel. Bartenders were a little aloof at first, but after I had more than one beer they seemed to warm up. Unfortunately they have what I would call a barely average craft beer selection. The wings were great. If I'm ever back this way I'll get them with sauce on the side. Whatever they season them with first is great.
Food was great, but service is lacking. Im not sure if this is normal for a Saturday night or not, but it was packed. We are visiting from out of state. Didn't know you had to seat yourselves, there was no signage anywhere so we just looked completely lost. Couldn't find a server anywhere. Had to flag down the bartender to get any sort of answers. Inside was full so we were left with no choice but to sit outside on the street. It was cold. There are no heaters on that side. Unfortunately 2 really inconsiderate gentleman decided that they would take up the heated section at a 6 seat table.... nobody said a word. That was annoying as our group of 6 had to stand around and wait for a bartender to combine two tables so our large group can sit together. The food was amazing, once it finally came but it got cold really quick, especially the fries. Once the silent disco people arrived and crowded the sidewalk, we lost all eyes of our server and never saw her again that night. I had to go inside just to flag SOMEONE down as we had empty drinks and had been waiting so long we just wanted the check so we could go. Its unfortunate. The food is seriously so good but they are severely short handed and the service is lacking.
Ordered a Maitai and received this. They should have just informed me that they didnt know what it was.
