I love having breakfast here every weekend morning. The bagels are delicious—from the bread to the cream cheese. The Nova bagel is absolutely amazing.
My first trip to Great Neck and of course I need bagels! Great success.....Best Bagels was fantastic! Got a plain w/ cr.cheeze and a pumpernickle with lox! Both were wonderful. And reasonably priced. Later in the day, attended an event with even more bagels from Best Bagels!!! An epic bagel eating day! Thank you Best Bagels!!
Been coming here 1 or 2 times a week for breakfast, always done right never a complaint. Showed up for lunch and Patrick pickles (gave him the name after another customer was raving about the pickles here) looked at me and said your a morning guy. I never had lunch there in the 4 months I have been going there. I was impressed he picked up on it. Great good, good value (for the neighborhood as its a pricey town) and excellent customer service from all the morning staff! BTW grilled herb chicken was awesomely delicious. Will be going for lunch as well.
Decent bagel place! Nicely baked, crusty outside and perfect slightly doughy center. However, the bagels seem to keep getting smaller. The variety of cream cheese options could be improved. The ordering system could be improved to keep the volume in the place down a bit, there’s a lot of shouting going on from one side of the counter to the other. If you’re in the area and looking for breakfast, this is a great option.
I have been coming here for over 10 years (I think that should say something). Depending on the day of the week and the time of day that you go you may end up waiting online for 10 or so minutes or there may be only 2 or 3 people in front of you; but regardless it is definitely worth the wait! It definitely has a local New York bagel shop vibe with a good selection of various types of fresh bagels, bagel flats and good iced coffee. I normally get tuna, onions and tomatoes on a sunflower seed flat with a bag of chips (shown in picture). If you’re lucky you can get one of the few street parking spots that are near the front of the bagel shop and if not there is a parking lot located behind the bagel shop that is used for local shop parking. The parking lot is almost never full but be aware that it is Muni Meter parking (not free) so have some quarters on you.
First time there. Bacon, egg, and cheese bagel was good. Service questionable. One Staff person at counter was pretty rude. Didn't know I had to wait to pay with the person who took my order. When I asked if I can pay while waiting for my order, one Staff person responded in a very rude tone "does it look like I took your order". Apparently you wait to pay until the person who took your order brings it to the counter and rings you up.
It really pains me to post this photo of careless bagel making. This is my hometown bagel shop but on principle I need to share this photo because...... look. Listen they have amazing tunafish, whitefish salad, and egg salad and their bagels are really good... but 4 out of 10 times you get a bagel maker Who just wants the long line of bagel eaters to end as quick as possible and you get something like this. I will only be coming here to purchase half pounds of tuna and I am taking my business to Ace bagels on Northern Boulevard.
i usually don’t leave reviews but i’m disappointed. i ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a roll through uber eats. took super long for them to make the order. $13.75 (already crazy) but it included a drink of your choice. the small hazelnut coffee was great. the bacon egg and cheese does not have nearly enough bacon for it to be so expensive. i get it’s great neck and it’s expensive here, but i honestly don’t care, i feel like i got ripped off. on top of that, the roll and cheese just wasn’t good. flavor was not what i was expecting. i’m looking at the reviews and it’s bombarded with horrible reviews about the owner of all people?? that’s really a shame. do better
i just had the worst experience where THE OWNER was disgusting to me, i couldn’t believe it. i then went online to check the reviews and all the reviews state that the owner of this place is awful, disgusting, rude, and the list goes on, i wonder how the owner stays in business being disgusting to everyone.
I have a service dog with me and I was trying to get food and I was thrown out of there. My dog is very quiet did nothing wrong and when I was asked to leave for the second time, I said he's a service dog and he said he didn't care And I said do you work here and he said I'm the owner. He was very nasty. I handed him back my black and white cookies and he said don't give that to me. I said well your store and I'm not buying anything from you amongst the other large order that I was gonna get. I ate there yesterday and it wasn't even so good. I'm just in a rush so I came back here, but I'm on my way to Isa. Bagel can never go wrong with that. Always remember if somebody doesn't like animals they're a bad person.
The single worst place to eat in Great Neck. The food is slightly below average, but the service is atrocious. There’s a guy with a beard who acts angry that you dared to bother him with your money. I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say I’d rather let a colony of cats crawl down my throat than ever spend a dime here. Save yourself the time and go anywhere else. Once Bagel Chalet opens this place will hopefully go out of business!
Just had the worst chicken sandwich of my life, it was awful! Unreal, chicken cutlet was hard the bread didn’t taste fresh. The sandwich went right into the garbage, do yourself a favor don’t waste your money. MAYBE The bagels are OK but the sandwiches are disgusting! Had to go someplace else and buy a second lunch, this place should be closedown.
Food is expansive and the staff is very rude. Went there this morning for some bagels. Apparently only one person can help you at a time, when you want to add to your order you have to wait until that person is finished with your food and comes back 10 mins later, even tho there are staff sitting there doing nothing. Dude in the front was very rude about this. Ok food but horrible service
Upon entering the establishment the cashier had a very lengthy conversation with a friend of his, ignoring other customers. At some point a female employee came out of the kitchen and took my order. 18 minutes later my omelet was finally ready, the home fries smelled rancid and there was a black hair in the omelet. At this point I threw $16 worth of food in the trash.
I typically don’t complain, but this morning I had a horrendous experience. I went in for bec and ec on a bagel with a coffee and and chocolate milk and paid 30$?? The breakfast food took over 15 minutes to make and the place was empty, which is a shame because this place always works fasts for regulars and I’m a local. The last interaction was the last straw, because when I asked why it was 30$ the lady at the front threw the receipt at me and said here it is 30 and then walked away without any indication the convo was over and went on to help the next guest.
More like worst bagel. The workers are unfriendly and rude. We got charged $28.02 for TWO bagels, one being a bagel with butter. When we went back to tell them we got overcharged they said “no no no, each bagel is $11.50.” When we looked online a bagel with butter is $4.50. And! We got a mystery charge of $4.50! This place is a JOKE and we will NEVER go back.
0 stars if I could. I have been coming here for 20+ years and will never step foot into this establishment again. $19.32 for a turkey, avocado, egg white wrap. There was no warning about price increases, all other wraps with similar ingredients are around $9-12. The guy who made the wrap NEVER changed his gloves after counting money, I tried to tell him but he completely ignored me and then when I asked him he said he changed his gloves. complete waste of $20.
