Opinions de Layne's Chicken Fingers Houston
Layne’s Chicken is honestly top tier. The chicken was hot, crispy, and super juicy, like you could tell it was made fresh. The seasoning was on point and the Texas toast was perfectly toasted with that buttery crunch. Fries were golden and salty in the best way, and the sauce?? Straight fire and easily one of the best chicken sauces out there. The place was clean, the vibe was chill, and the staff was fast and friendly. Definitely one of those spots you leave full and already thinking about coming back. Would 100% recommend
It was a great experience eating fried chicken at this place, it was my first time trying it and I loved the atmosphere around since it wasn’t that crowded. Great service and i recommend coming through
The chicken tenders were incredibly tasty and cooked just right. The spicy option stood out because it was packed with real flavor rather than just heat. The fries were perfectly crispy, and the toast had a rich buttery taste that tied everything together. Compared to other spots nearby, this place easily stands out as the better choice.
Ma****a (blocked for privacy) and team are rockstars. Visited from Philadelphia and I wanted quality. I came and ordered a 5 pieces and turned back for two family meals (40 tenders). Google did not let me down.
GrubHub goofed the order - us having ordered the family pack with 8 Layne sauces, and an additional 2 honey mustard and 2 bbq. It arrived with 6 honey mustard and 2 bbq. I drove up there in a fury, gave the drive-thru box an earful, and ordered 8 sauces. The staff was wonderful, didn't charge for the sauces, handed them to me, and I rushed back to my wife (who was in tears as we eat on these kits for a few meals and was sad she couldn't enjoy any of them as she disliked the sauces). Dinner was saved and delicious. They didn't deserve my abrasive approach, and I do apologize for that. 5/5, would order again.
Was at the memorial hermann and saw that a Laynes that is halal is nearby so checked it and I'm so glad I did because oh boy are the spicy tenders so good! Also the sauces are exceptional! Service by Zuhair was excellent as well! Highly recommend!
Decided to give them a try and was pleasantly surprised. Better than canes on everything, and extremely fast service at the drive-thru. I'll be coming here from now on instead. Chicken had excellent flavor and just the right level of spicy. Fries were delicious! Toast was yummy as well.
The fact they have Spicy chicken tenders or wrap options is a win for me. They offer delicious cookies, I will have to try out the shakes next time. Laynes also offers first responder/military discount if you have ID. If you have never tried out the chicken I strongly recommend you at least try it once! I will definitely revisit when I'm in the area.
My go to chicken spot! If you are not a fan of canes like I am definitely give it a shot. The chicken is cooked to perfection and seasoned. The fries are crispy and there sauces are flavorful. I usually get there wrap it’s quite small but you can’t beat the price. Give it a try if you’re in need for something different. The prices are fair and the staff are very friendly.
There were whispers in the air that once upon a time there was a one true chick-atar named Layne’s. Master of all four elements (tendies, sauce, sweet tea, texas toast). Created to bring peace to the world. But everything changed when the Canes nation attacked. Layne’s was driven into hiding, with many young bucks unaware of the true tendie OG. But Layne’s and their juicy, spicy tenders will not stay quiet any longer. It is time for harmony to be restored to the tendie world. With Layne’s leading the charge to destroy the false prophet Canes. Anyways here’s what to try and what to avoid at this place called Layne’s that I found randomly: - Tendies (duh): Regular ones are more seasoned than Canes, Spicy is fantastic and I’d at least consider getting a few a la carte if you don’t want all spicy. I will say they are not the biggest in the world resulting in a disappointing price-per-tendie ratio. - Sauces: Layne’s Sauce is basically Canes, Gravy doesn’t have much flavor tbh, Jalepeno Ranch is great with regular tendies. - Fries: IMO crispier and more flavor than Canes. - Texas Toast: More home-style but Canes clears here tbh - Crispy Chicken Wrap: Get it with the spicy and Layne’s Sauce, there is lettuce so it’s super healthy (they offer grilled tendies but momma didn’t raise no quitter) Service was very solid they were super quick to serve and went out of their way to check on my specific order and give me an update. Outdoor area only is a little sus but no worries I like to eat it in my car in the hopes those spicy tendie smells get stuck in the ac system (not really that’s gross - unless….)
First time stopping by and let me telllll you!!!!!! I got the 3 finger combo, spicy 🌶️, it was AMAZING!!!!! I had to take slow bites just to savor the flavor. The food was served fast and I was given great customer service. I can’t wait to go back. Great toast, yummy fries and delicious chicken.
I recently visited Layne's Chicken Fingers, and I was thoroughly impressed with their staff. Even close to closing hours, they were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Now, let's talk about the food. The Spicy Chicken Strip Combo paired with unsweetened tea was an absolute banger! The flavors were on point, and I couldn't get enough. The only small hiccup was when I requested no ice in my tea but still got some. Not a deal-breaker, though. One amusing aspect is that Layne's is conveniently located across from their competitor, Cane's Chicken Fingers. It's hard not to wonder about the friendly (or not-so-friendly) rivalry between the two establishments. All in all, Layne's delivers fantastic chicken fingers and great service, making it a must-visit spot for chicken lovers.
Been here a couple of times. The tenders are way better than the place across the street, and better than the other place across the other street. Also the other place across the street up one block. They have mild tenders and a spicy version that’s really spicy, maybe even too spicy for you. We like spicy around here but I think I’ll try the mild version next time. Lots of sauce options including a white cream gravy that’s okay. The fries are nothing to write home about but not bad. Very nice people but their online ordering was broken or something and they seemed to throwing random stuff at me, like kind of everything was wrong, and they left my wife’s order off altogether. I kinda think all these fast food places on Ella are really not very good.
I've had Layne's at least twice now. Average chicken tenders. But I know one thing that could at least bring them more customers. Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations. There's space in the back parking lot for it and clearly they already attract EV drivers. I recommend y'all (or the landlord) contact local Texas company, Pangea Charging if y'all want to get EV chargers setup at your franchise locations.
The wrap tasted good and was fresh, but honestly it’s way too small for the price. You’d need at least two or three of them to actually feel full. It’s fine if you’re just looking for a light snack, but not worth it if you expect a real meal.
Another Raising Canes but Raising Canes tastes better. Fries did not look how they do online they seemed overcooked & not fresh, chicken fingers were regular. Lemonande was good but i got it kinda warm. Overall i wasnt impressed
I came here because someone did a youtube review, the hype was their and it ended up being wah wahhh. Thought I would take a break from Cane's and kinda regretted it. Spicy wings are why I gave this a 2, fries were old and mehh, Texas Toast was more like New Mexico toast...Sauce prob old, was all caked to the top of the lid. Was more expensive than Cane's and didnt come with a side. Their were options on the menu for sauces but I dont know if we are suppose to state which one we wanted, I wasn't asked so I thought they'd do it up front. Thennn, their was a tip request, umm I am glad I didn't. oh and what is up with the spongey tendons in the tenders? found like 3 spongey tendons in my tenders which was also weird. anyways, not happy. I am fat and still hungry! $39 for 3 4 tender wings, with old fries and new mexico toast and cakey sauce.
The employees at this location do not care at all, they will make you wait for ever then forget about your order. The food is mediocre which makes the whole experience not even worth it. Save yourself from a bad experience and do not go here
*UPDATE* Went by to get my “replacement” meal today and was gonna order more, but while at the speaker after telling the worker I was supposed to be getting a meal free I was asked mngr name or if I had a receipt. First look at the date of this review 3 weeks ago. Idk a mngr name but it was a female. Second how will a receipt show I had a meal missing on the order? It obviously is on the receipt with the other 2 meals I ordered so how do you know it was missing other than my word? I did end up getting the meal so ordered for the person that was with me at no cost, but having to get upset over paying $15 for the screw up to begin with, woth no real system in place to make sure it was corrected was ridiculous. Not gonna lie I was pissed and cursing, but anyone spending their money at a place that feels slighted for the 3rd time would not be happy. I will not return. This was it for me. I can not recommend this place which is sad because I really liked it. Second time they missed a whole item/meal. Asked for a refund via phone this time as I am not close to this place and was offered a “free meal” on next visit. IDK if there will be a next visit. Nearly $30 spent and someone didn’t even get their meal.
Been coming here for a few years. Recently they hired a new employee that has really bad customer service skills, bare minimum friendliness, bare minimum communication. Bare minimum period. You can tell she hates her job. No name tag so I can’t identify her, seems to be the only one that wears a black polo though if that helps. My visit was on 2/11/2026 at 930p. If the owner needs more details about this issue, drop an email in the response and I will correspond with more details. Either way I hope this person moves on from this job soon. Till then I’m going to a different laynes location. 👎👎👎👎👎
I drove thru your Ella location at 11:40pm with a friend who wanted to go to Cane's that's across the street, that he should try Laynes because I thought they were superior to Cane's and that I especially liked the cream gravy. We ordered at the drive thru and I specifically asked them to make my order fresh because the last time I went the tenders were old. The cashier said no problem. When we got to the window, he took my card and immediately gave us the order. We parked in the parking lot, opened the containers and we're immediately disappointed. The tenders were nowhere near fresh, but the gravy was the worst of all, it was COLD! like straight from the refrigerator cold! We went back to the drive thru and told the cashier about the horrible condition of the food that he passed out to us. He told us that when it gets late at night machine that they keep the gravy in gets turned off earlier and that they don't make gravy throughout the day so that's why the gravy was cold. He also told me that they don't cook fresh tenders when requested because it was too late. I asked for the manager who didn't want to introduce herself by name because she was uncomfortable doing that. See then started to give every excuse in the book instead of just saying I'm sorry let me make it right for you. I asked for my order to be remade, which she agreed to, but she didn't want to make new french fries since she knew the french fries he had gave me were fresh. I told her I was not going to wait for fresh tenders and not get fresh french fries also. I tried to give the order back to her but she said she couldn't take it back. The replaced order was up to the usual standards I expect from Laynes, but the customer service was totally lacking. The nameless manager, who never once apologized, acted like she was exasperated with me because I wanted my order correct. I will never come back to this location again and I definitely will tell everyone not to come back here either.
First time visiting and probably the last. I didn't like it at all. The fries were okay, the bread, I don't know, and the chicken, not at all. It was flavorless and dry as if it were from the day before and refried. The strips were also pretty small. I didn't really like the sauce either.
