Great place it's not far from where I work. My only complaint is that when the crowds get large the glass washing turnover is rapid and you end up getting a fresh beer in a glass that's still kinda warm to the touch. I still gave the place give stars but if they could address that one small issue the place is perfect

My 2nd here now and I'll say the place is great. Why? Because I experienced a great atmosphere and both friendly staff & patrons. Plus, I don't go anywhere without my dog and they have a huge outside patio area. Thanks Britney (bartender)!

Although I go to McIntyre's for a real estate networking event, it is a fun place to go, hang out, and play some corn roll. They have a nice bar, and the appetizer-like food is good.

A super casual, laid back, chill location. One of the most popular bar in the Heights and can see why. Has a nice beer selection with a decent amount of local Texas beers on tap. It has so many screens in so many angles, no matter whwlere you sit you can catch whatever game you want. And they bring in food trucks so they can serve alcohol during this covid time so go support both McIntyre's and the food truck while supporting your team!

Found a great sports bar in Houston to watch Lions Bucs. Big group of Lions fans turned up and made it extra fun to watch the Lions win. Wait staff was fast with buckets of beers and they have Golden Tee for you golfers. Trendy spot- lot of people looking great and having fun! Valet is available.

This bar has a huge patio, with at least 40 screens, and one big movie sized screen as well. There is a food truck stall for food trucks to pull into the patio so you can order food from right there in the bar. They have these interesting swing seats in one section of the bar that you can swing on while you drink.... It's pretty fun.

As soon as I walked in, I knew this bar would become my new favorite Heights drink stop. I went for the soft opening (which is usually the most hectic day) and was warmly welcomed by a fantastic bar staff. Meagan took care of me even when I walked outside on the patio, where they had a food truck set up as well as some fun swings to sit on. There is plenty of room even when it's crowded, and they are dog friendly and have valet. There are enough TVs to consider it a sports bar, but I got the pub feel because of how welcoming and local the patrons are. They have a huge liquor selection with a small cocktail menu and lots of draft beers. I'm sure this will be a popular happy hour spot with beautiful outside weather. The decor is very modern and there is plenty of table space for big groups. I can't wait to come back to McIntyres again!

Great place to visit if you are looking to have fun late at night or on a weekend. Great service from the staff here. Great drinks too. It's a really clean place from the bar to the restroom. They have really fun bar games. They also have a great patio area with swings for seats. It's an overall great atmosphere here . You won't regret coming here.

This location is fun and vibrant. The other patrons are fun spirited and welcoming.Don’t worry about feeling left out here, join in a game of corn hole or strike up a conversation because here everyone is friendly. The bartenders and waitresses are top notch. Secure as well, with police and security guarding the premises and checking id’s. 23 years and up here.

I loved the atmosphere of this bar. Its like a sports lover's dream. Gazillion TVs tuned to all kinds of whatever sports is going on. Good selection of beers including one of my favorites Deep Ellum. If you wanna catch a whole bunch of the college football games on Saturday I highly recommend this place. And when it gets cooler out they have a nice patio/outdoors area as well. When I went I didn't ask if they had food though.

Great place that gets PACKED on weekends. Very fun atmosphere but bartenders get busy. Waitresses help but they stay busy. Get 2 drinks at a time is my recommendation. The swings look like a great idea but just take your photo and walk away. Trust me. Parking is tricky but once you're inside, you're going to enjoy yourself. Porta-cans outside so remember that you use your foot to pump water on the hand washing station or take your own hand sanitizer.

We have been several times for Steak Night recently and have not been disappointed! I always get the filet and it is cooked to perfection! The sides are awesome and vary each week. We go early so they aren't too crowded. Try it - you'll like it!

We just moved to the area and we are so excited to have found Mcintyres sports bar. We enjoy the indoor/outdoor pet friendly atmosphere. Awesome place! 100% most definitely an "I graduated college a couple of years ago and now I'm a young professional but I still like to party" vibe going on the Saturday night that I went. Burger Joint food truck was parked out back up against the fence, so you can order and take your food without having to leave the patio or set your drink down. Careful with the wooden swings out back, I fell off twice!

McIntyre's is by far my favorite bar to go to in the heights! With a million tvs this is the go-to spot to watch any and all sports games. They have a great patio with tons of seating, swings and food truck if you get hungry. It's also dog friendly. The bartenders here are always so nice and their cocktail selection is top-notch, be sure to try the Always Sunny in Houston and frozen Irish coffee!

Great selection of beers and cocktails here. This is a perfect place for sports games... Tons of TVs inside!! Picnic tables outside for large group seating. Went there last night despite only staying for close to 2 hours, If I knew there was free parking I could of park there & if you want to get a free parking spot, get there (on the weekday) closest to 8-9 pm window especially on a Friday night otherwise there is self parking & valet parking. Staff was really nice & cool from bartenders to even the folks who check out the I.D. I dig the environment from the outside to even the bar plus the food truck that is normally on site. I am not someone who goes to a ton of bars but its worth checking out

Well laid out bar, but trying to find parking is miserable on a busy night. Typically young crowd in their early 20s, but you can find a quieter space in the patio area if that's your jam. Gets packed for local college football games. Food trucks usually available to get food but can't speak to how good they are.

Large outside space: Cornhole, group seating and swing seating. Perfect for small or large groups. Excellent drinks. Paid parking next door, free parking out front on a week night.

Great bar with outdoor area, food trucks, and swings. Make sure that you are there early because it is hard to find parking. They have a lot of tv's so it is a great place to watch sports, they have a basketball arcade game inside and they also have the corn hole game.

Great place to be a kid again and swing. The star lost is only because getting a seat and getting service coming to you frequently can be difficult. Good sports and social bar. Again get there early for seats is the key to a good time.

Best aspect of this place is if you have a well behaved dog they are welcome on the ouside deck. Inside is pretty much a standard bar with sports TVs. Offer variety of beers cocktails barfood etc. Staff are personable.

Nice concept, good ambience, good drinks and food bit pricey though but tasty, with the only downside that you need to make a reservation if you plan to go on holidays or festive days. I went for Super Bowl and it was packed, but what was shocking was the reserved sign in most of the tables. If I known I needed to make a reservation I would probably done it, since this place is really nice. But sadly you never imagined making a reservation for 2 in a pub.

I went on a Thursday evening during happy hour. They have a great patio with covered and uncovered sections, some swings, and a food truck. Parking was tight - their lot was full so I had to park on the street. There were lots of TVs and even a couple sets of corn hole. One important note - this is a 23+ bar.

Cool new place in the neighborhood! They have plenty space on the outdoor patio (dog friendly, btw) as well as under the roof, so you can feel comfortable at any weather. There are about two dozens of tvs, indoor and outdoor, so you can literally watch your own game yourself or with your company. And the coolest feature is the swing table! Food truck provides good food. Their hours are not established completely yet; currently they open from noon on weekends and from 4 pm on weekdays. Closing hours depend on the crowd. I love this place!

Packed. Not a great place to hear or dance. There are rumors floating around that this place is haunted. If you're going for your first time, I would recommend asking one of the bartenders about the history of the place. Legend has it that before it was McIntyre's it was a crematorium called McFlames. On a quiet night you can sometimes still see a glimpse of the flame coming from the back room. Pay attention to the smells. People often say that you can still smell a trace of human hair or singed bones. This pace offers tours during the daytime when it's slow to show a bit of the history of this historic building. The tour is a bit pricey but well worth the cost. Beware though, they will try to get you with the gift shop at the end. As usual the gift shop is overpriced and not worth the money. Stick with the drinks.

Went on Sunday during a basketball game. Good vibes, dog friendly, swing chairs, outside TVs, good food trucks. They had "Sticky Chicken" and a burger truck. My burger was great and I had a bite of someone's chicken which was also very good. Dont go on a game day if crowds are a deterrent for you. There were lots of people but the bartenders and cleaning crew kept up well.

Place is good to hang out watch the game or just be with friends. All the staff are willing to help and give recommendations. I just come here to relax and get away from the norm. They will definitely take care of you. They have good happy hour as well as steak night on tuesday.

good atmosphere and a big deck make this place a good option. prices are not too outrageous but its no dive bar. seating is is limited to some swings and picnic table setup on the outside and a couple of booths and tables on the inside. They play the sports games with the sound so if you want to hear the game they have you covered. the crowd is fun and you get a food truck, sometimes two for food options. they offer free water station and it is usually cold water. dog friendly but with the the place getting crowded at times It can get hectic for your pet. not enough room for the dogs to really enjoy. Decent parking space and valet offered as well. oh and half of the deck is covered the other is out in the sun. I think this is a 23 and up bar so keep that in mind as you debate on going. It is on the busy street that is 20th so keep your eyes open for drunk or buzzed people walking on the side of the streets. it has an INSTAGRAM factor if you are on one of the swings/porch swings.

I’ve been twice. The first time I hated it and we left. It was a game night and so load you literally couldn’t hear someone if they screamed in your ear. A week or so later I met friends there and it was great. Plenty of seating but still a good number of people there. I was surprised when my old fashion came to as delicious as it did but then that’s a credit to the ladies behind the bar. The have a good number of staff, that are happy, fun, professional and never seem to ignore you. They keep the place inside and out super clean. I e we I’ll say watch you car. Although the parking lot is well lit. Both times I was there police were looking into situations that seemed to involve broken windows/theft.

Great outdoor bar with swings. Be careful not to fall off though! Drinks are reasonably priced. Dogs are allowed, but if your dog doesn't behave they will kick you out. Later at night they do have a age restriction and won't allow anyone under 23 in to the place. I've been here several times and I always have a good time. Awesome bar! Bartenders are friendly and make the drinks strong. They have daily specials and a great happy hour. They have plenty of space and seats available and also some swings. There are covered and uncovered outside areas. And lots of indoor seats. There are TVs within any view of the place and will change it to whatever sports event is on. Food truck is usually available on-site and an in house weekly steak night special. Parking lot is available for free and they also offer valet service.

Like many places in the heights and surrounding areas, expect to see a mixture of hipsters and yuppies. It does not take away from how cool and laid back this place is. Drinks are reasonably priced, being how busy they get at times, it is always better to get your drinks from the bar. They have a large covered patio area. The inside is a large open concept with limited seating (especially on a Friday night). They do not seem to have a kitchen, however, they always have food trucks and plenty of tables in the patios.

Great open space, they show most games, good selection of drinks. Owner built out a larger area for socializing which includes a porch and patio, but a single bar to order from and no kitchen. While they do have a food truck (rotating) they invite in, I wish they had a stable selection of food. Parking is a gravel lot, but plenty of room. Good hangout that is quiet enough for conversation, yet lively enough to keep the energetic atmosphere for games.

Looked like you can reserve tables ahead of time for events (bday party gathering, etc). bathrooms are clean. i have noticed this bar is attracting a younger crowd lately that you'd typically see in Midtown (mid 20s)-not a bad thing, just an observation. I was there on a Saturday and it was packed with 20somethings and their cute dogs (my friends and I are mid 30s). fun people watching

Nice typical sports bar. Very different vibe from the downtown location. Not as cool looking as that one but still nice. Valet parking was $20. They have free parking next to it but can get full. Drinks are ok priced but honestly I think every bar has overpriced drinks. Didn't really like the vibe so I won't come again but that's just my opinion. Still a nice place to have some drinks at.

Pretty cool and breezy spot. The many fans blowing and the movement of the swing add that extra air sometimes missing in the hot and humid city we call home. Service was good and the food trucks added to what was missing.

Typical downtown bar, drinks slightly on the higher side, but not out of an acceptable range. Large patio with a lot of seating, not much walking area. Waitresses were slow with delivering drink orders and this is one of the only places I experienced the waitresses asking for cash before they went to get the drinks, it was a bit off-putting.

Very busy, a little bit too much to my liking, but that's a personal preference. Did seem to be a popular place to hang out. Bartenders were fast and friendly enough. Good place to grab a drink if you're not turned off by a crowd.

Great place and cool patio space. Unfortunately, the food truck served overpriced food with a negative attitude. The nacho cheese dip was mostly watered down and his attitude to me asking if I could have sliced jalapenos was: "I'll see what I can do."He proceeded to put them into the smallest to-go cups with the smallest amount of peppers. Absolutely unprofessional.

Typical sports bar but a very nice patio. Pour beer selection mostly liquor. Although they do offer a very nice indoor seating area. Very comfortable booths. They have a very fun basketball shooting arcade game. And 360 degrees of flat screen TVs there's no way you can miss a single replay if you go to this bar. Conveniently located in the Heights very accessible for people in this area.

This place is a great sports bar overrun with the wrong crowd. I like the location, but this is not a Heights bar. It feels more like a Midtown transplant than a neighborhood bar (AKA, get there an hour before whatever game you want to watch starts or you won't get a seat). Although it is crowded, I did appreciate their attempt to limit the crowd by increasing the age limit to 23. Hopefully it'll calm down because it really is a great spot when it's not crowded!

Can't speak for the food but the service here is terrible it wasn't even busy and our waitress kept forgetting our order and taking forever we had to order directly from the bar several times because we couldn't find her. Even when she did bring out our drinks it would be incorrect or the beer would be warm from sitting out so long. Other than that the space is big and I believe it's a 23 and up bar. They have swings and a lot of seating and TV's perfect to catch a game. You can also bring your dog.

I have only been to the McIntyre’s in the Heights off of 20th so can only speak for that location. I have been to the Heights location probably close to 3-4 times now which is odd looking back that somehow I ended up there that many times. I wouldn’t say it’s a place I would seek out personally but I don’t necessarily mind going there if others want to go. First off, the service is a bit on the slower side but I don’t think that’s the bar or bartender’s fault. The bar area is small-ish compared to the amount of patrons that occupy the space. The patrons are typically there to pound some drinks too. It can definitely get a bit rowdy there; think overserved patrons, activities going on in the bathroom, people getting kicked out. It is unfortunate that cars being broken into in that neighborhood seems to be a regular occurrence too. If you’re looking for a wild night out, McIntyre’s Heights might be a good choice for you. There are also some clubs and other bars within walking distance too.

We went to watch a Rockets game and in the middle of the game the televisions kept losing the signal. On every single TV the Rockets were playing on. It did this every 5 minutes the entire game. It was not fun to watch, it was frustrating. When we first came in and sat down at a table it took about 15 minutes for us to hunt down a waitress to take our drink orders. On the upside our waitress turned out to be friendly. That was the only saving grace. I didn't recommend any for hard sports fans to go here unless you want you game interrupted at pivotal moments. I also heard a bouncer threaten a customer right within arms length of our table.

Disclaimer: this applies to their Steak Night. I'm probably being too generous with the 2 stars. Was here last night to check out their Corn Hole tournament. From the reviews and menu for Steak Night. I had relatively high expectations. The price for a bar steak night is on the pricey side ($19.25). I ordered a medium cooked steak and my boyfriend ordered a rare cooked steak. Once our steaks came out they had the steaks mixed up. His steak was EXTREMELY RARE, def wasn’t enjoyable. And both steaks weren’t evenly seasoned, some bites were more flavorful than others. The flavor just wasn’t there. So save your $20 on their Steak Night, definitely NOT worth it

Met a friend here 2 days ago. Ambience seems nice. I do like the 23+ entry age. I just checked my bank account. I ordered a red bull & a cup of water when I was there. I just realized I was charged $25. I refuse to believe it cost $25 for those 2 items. Then I thought it's possible the bartender gave himself a tip. If that was the case that's so rude. I left a tip in cash. I got the eye roll when I said I'd like water but on top of that they over charge my card?

Great spot to watch sports! So many tvs to choose from. They also have a good truck. Would give it more stars but my first and last time I went, the chick at the bar acknowledged me and said "I'll be right with you" and kept me waiting for 10 minutes until I gave up and decided to leave instead. She seemed annoyed but if you don't like working in an area where you have to serve people then I suggest you don't work there.

They were racist to my Asian friend and I (I am Mexican). They kicked us out for simply our race. The doorman claimed that we were high it was nothing further from the truth. It was truly disgusting to be forced out in such a manner for simply sitting.

Great experience. A friend got sick after being in the bar 15 minutes. Completely sober at 10:15 pm on a Saturday. While waiting for our ride she threw up next to the door inside the entryway and passed out twice while sitting on a bench. A normal human would have asked if she was okay or offered water. The security guard repeatedly and aggressively asked when our uber was arriving. We asked for the manager in front of a man who did not identify himself. The security guard sneered, pointed off and told us the man he was just talking to was the owner - we asked for the manager, not the owner - therefore he did not talk to us. Another employee approached us, did not identify himself and asked what the problem was. My sick friend told him we were waiting for our ride and cussed in the explanation and complaint of the security guard's behavior . The employee responded by saying he was getting the cops. Two officers came and said if we felt the guard was aggressive and we felt unsafe we needed to leave the property. We moved to the steps next to the street where my friend momentary passed out again after the walk. The officers stood between us and the doorway offering no support. The entire ordeal took under 5 minutes. I am very disappointed in the lack of compassion from every staff member that we encountered. Our friend was not drunk. She was sick in their establishment and was treated horribly. Had management asked if she was okay, and even offered a chair to sit in outside of the building it would be have been appreciated. Had management approached us AT ALL it would have been appreciated. Had ANY staff member asked if she was okay it would have been appreciated. This was a horrible experience that could have easily been handled more professionally.

If I could give 0 stars I would, this place has a 23 and up policy. This comes off as pretentious and pathetic. I’m 22 and tried to come here with my parents, and they wouldn’t let me in. I understand that people in my age group sometimes behave badly at restaurants like this, but is that cause to ban everyone in my age group? Absolutely not. Truly ruined our night, we were excited to try some of their steak, we drove 35 minutes for it. Insulting, annoying, and pretentious are the 3 words I would use to describe this place. Won’t be coming back even when I’m 23. UPDATE: Still have never been there, sticking to my word and I’m 24.

I was just turned away from this place because of my tattoos. The manager rudely told me that "we've had incidents with people who look like you," which felt absolutely discriminatory. It's disheartening to encounter such prejudice and rudeness in today's society, especially when we are supposed to be moving forward from these outdated biases. Edit: In response to your comment, no… it happened at your establishment as well. How about you update your policies of discrimination?

We used to visit you bar every Sunday, but they are no longer feel safe to be in your place since they were assaulted by another customer on the St. Patrick's Day this year as described below. While they seated at a table, my husband to went to a restroom. The perpetrator tried to take his seat. When my husband's friend informed him that the seat was taken, the perpetrator struck my husband's friend's head. The victim reported to the bouncer, who we consider as a security guard, ignored his claim and took no action. This assault is a crime and should have been taken seriously. You should have protected customer by escorting the criminals out of your premises and banned them from your place for life. At minimum, your bouncer should have advised the criminal for their unacceptable behaviors. The crime traumatized the victim for his life, and we demand your immediate response for some sort of compensation.

Went for the first time last night with some friends, the moment the bartender heard my friend say that I was a democrat she refused to serve me the rest of the night?? Mean and nasty. Edit: I watched her serve someone else so it wasn’t just her being cut and gave me very nasty looks. I did not “argue” with anyone, I was only speaking to my friends.

Let’s just say, I will never be returning to this place again. This place is extremely overrated and definitely fallen off over the years. I went last night with a group of friends after leaving the cook off. We got our drinks and sat down at one of the tables. Throughout the night my stomach began to feel a little funny as well as another person from the group. We figured it could have possible been bad food from the cook off maybe. That person proceeded to go to the bathroom a couple times. They were then confronted by an employee asking them to leave the bar! We were in shock about it. He stated that the “owner” witnessed the person going to the bathroom a couple times and believes they were throwing up in there. This is problematic and concerning in many ways. First off, why are you monitoring how much someone goes to the bathroom? Personally this to me had serious racial undertones as we were one of the few groups to have people of color and of course the one person being watched was African American. Second, if a person is in a stall with the door closed then how do you know exactly what that person was doing without seeing it (cameras in the stalls maybe?) and lastly who cares! As a medical provider who treats N/V, diarrhea, and GI complaints….having diarrhea or vomiting is not related to a level of drunkness. This person was in no way intoxicated and had zero signs of intoxication, and therefor asking them to leave was unjustified. I tried to explain this to the employee but they werent open hearing anything. So take my advice, avoid this overrated mid bar and just go to some of the other places across the street that have better drinks, music, and overall better environment!

Bartenders never acknowledged me. Been sitting at the bar for more than 10-15 minutes and haven't ordered my drinks.

The security guards have big egos and sadly like to pick on big built men! My husband and I loved this place until last time we visited his ID got stuck in the wallet, as he is trying to get it out, the security got impatient, became rude, we didn't understand it, another security got involved, my husband told them to come down, next thing I see there are 2 security guards and 2 police officers, cornering him and asking my husband to leave. We never saw this before here or anywhere. That was our first spot of the night. We were embarrassed but literally laughing at how ridiculous that was over an ID that they could easily have waited for. We just went to the place next door Austin's Backyard and had one of the best nights ever. Definitely scratching this place OFF our list for good. The place is becoming less popular by the day I wonder why.
