One of the best sashimis I had, hands down! We got the 9pc sashimi (albacore, salmon, yellow fin) and it was so good, fresh, soft and tasted like milk. We also had the pork katsu and beef teriyaki bowl which were both delicious. Serving size is huge and share between the two of us. We even took some of the katsu and teriyaki home. Service was quick and very friendly. The chef/owner even went out to check on us. This was a perfect meal after our 5.2mi hike.
Great service and food. Rolls were fresh and tasty. I started with a hot green tea on a chilly afternoon. I got the calamari appetizer and the hot night roll. My favorites so far!
It's a nice and cozy place to get some authentic asian food! A small cabin converted into a restaurant. It is apparently busy, but it's also the only sushi restraunt in Idy, so it's a favorite! We got the Crunch Roll and Tempura Cali Roll, which was delicious. It's right in town, making it convenient for takeout as well.
This place was an awesome treat for date night we did not want to travel to one of the big cities and as we were looking around Idlewild found this little tiny hole in the wall with amazing people running it and delicious food. As we were walking up very unsure the waiter came out and greeted Us in the parking lot and welcomed us. When we became the only people inside the building they even asked us what we wanted to listen to you for music choice so I got to have a cold beer and some punk rock and sushi I will definitely be returning to this place
Nice setup in a very cool mountain town. The ingredients were fresh, and the flavor was melt in your mouth good. Definitely will be back! Try the tiger roll!
Really solid meal. Staff could not have been nicer or more attentive. Wife and I had the mixed tempura, yakisoba, and mild ramen - all 3 dishes would recommend.
Highly recommended the drive tucked away on the top of a mountain in California..This Sushi place must come in December it's like a Christmas movie best fried calamari I've tasted in my 29yrs
This place was fantastic and affordable! We moved up here about 3 months ago from the city and were craving something different. So we gave this little place a try, and it has been one of the best decisions. We shared the gyoza and a crunchy roll. The service was somewhat fast. And the plate size was plenty of food for two people. The sushi was flavorful and authentic ( definitely not gas station or grocery store sushi). We left the shop bellies full and pleased. We will definitely be back hungry for more. The sashimi was very good as well. Risky getting raw fish on a mountain, i know. But it was great decision. No regrets!
Friendly and quick service with yummy sushi. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Good food, service and price This is a small cozy restaurant The waiting is worth it 👌
i come here every weekend with my friends, the service is pretty good, a little slow, but absolutely worth the wait!! the sushi rolls are really good, and to be honest, one order of sushi rolls is absolutely enough for one person!! i recommend the salmon tuna roll!!
Fun spot in idywild to get something different. Didn't think we would find sushi. We were hungry so ate it before pictures unfortunately. The teriyaki chicken bowl was fantastic. The golden dragon ( I think that was its name) roll was warm and peelrfectly cooked. The spicy garlic edamame was smothered in garlic which we loved. We sill go again.

As an Idy Local, this is one of my favorite places to eat. My husband loves the Combination Fried Rice and I always get the Teriyaki Beef Combination Plate with Egg Rolls instead of CA Rolls. Jay is one of the nicest guys in Idyllwild.
4 stars only because the lobster bits tasted a bit sour. Nice little area. Food was plentyful. Definitely options for everyone. Waitress was patient, helpful and quick. We sat outside since it was a bit stuffy inside but it was warm that weekend. Was nice to have the option to eat here since there is a lot of Italian food mostly around that area.
Food and service was great, but the wait was too long. We waited 40 minutes to have someone get our order and another 20 minutes for our food to arrive. We went during the dinner rush, but the wait was just unexpected. We ordered a beef teriyaki combo box with an extra miso soup. Good enough for 2 people who aren’t super hungry. Would come back to get sushi, since I heard it was really good.

Slow service, nice waitress, but no music and not too many decorations. Better to take out sushi in the future! The price you pay to dine in for a party of two is $55 plus a tip. You can drive down the hill 25 minutes to Hemet and eat for $27 for two at “Pho Shack” which is delicious and affordable. I hope my review helps you decide and know it’s a long wait to dine in. You also feel ignored they should give free edamame or bread with oil & vinegar while you wait! Plenty of room for improvement but I don’t think the owner cares.

The food was very good, no complaints about the quality — the ramen was delicious. However, we waited for about two hours, even though the restaurant was not busy. This really affected the overall experience. I hope the service becomes faster in the future, because the food definitely deserves it.

GREAT SERVICE, BUT BLAND... it pains me to say this as the staff were absolutely wonderful. However, I have to be honest. I tried the edamame appetizers and they weren't a hit for me. Next, for the main course I had a order of veggie yakisoba w/ tofu and this also missed the mark big time. I didn't like that the noodles tasted store bought. Honestly I've had better maruchan noodles. The tofu was solid but it wasn't enough to save the dish. The fried fish looked good but I didn't get a chance to try it! I didn't feel like sushi this time around so I might give this place another shot, however it's going to be a while till I come back. As I'm writing this we are in the middle of the summer in Idyllwild and things are heating up. I was further disappointed that this place did NOT have AC, it was very steamy in there which made my visit a bit uncomfortable. Again, I'm sad that I have to leave this review because our waitress was awesome! Hoping they improve their cooking soon!
The restaurant is small inside, but they have outside seatings as well. We ordered edamame, dragon roll, spicy tuna roll, and a beef udo. The total was 56.95. Edamame was under cooked, dragon roll way too salty, spicy tuna roll was not spicy, other than the sauce on the rolls, they tasted plain, not much flavor. Lastly, the beef udo was flavorless. there's no seasoning or salt in the soup. Overall, the food tastes below average, I don't recommend this restaurant.
I REALLY wanted to LOVE this place. I also was skeptical. It was...a huge let down. The baked lobster roll was not lobster, it was crawfish...sea bugs that look like bugs with their little feet when you paid $20 for a "lobster" role. The eel sauce was thin and the Sriracha sauce was white and THICK. My husbands udon was good but the beef was all fat and it had very little aside from the noodles. The narutumaki fish cake was more like imitation crab than an actual dish and the pickled ginger tasted like straight up sweet and sour sauce. It was weird and all tasted like fish in a bad way and we threw it away. People are nice and I am picky about sushi. I hate giving a bad review but i wouldn't spend money here.

We were here 2.5 years ago, and it was incredibly delicious. Today, in 2025, we visited it again, and it was very bad. Even the sushi at the supermarket was better. The rolls fell apart, the rice was tasteless, and the whole family felt sick after eating the rolls.
The amount of food you get for the price you pay is an insult! Don’t eat here! Mediocre and low quality for insane prices. If the rolls were $5-$8 cheaper I wouldn’t complain but it’s a total rip off! You can get better quality sushi and Stater Brothers or Ralph’s grocery store.
