Hands down one of the best traditional Indian restaurants in London. The service is quick, wonderful hospitality and no doubt food is delicious. I had the seafood moilee which was the best I've ever had and we dont usually order Peshwari naan but its a must at this establishment!
Extremely nice waiters, very polite and with the right attention. Sultan was our waiter is was a gem. The food was stunning, very tasty (they asked us how spicy we wanted, a nice touch) there was plenty for us both. I really recommend Tower Tandoori. Thank you very much for the nice meal and evening. Alex
We had such a brilliant experience from start to finish. The starters set the tone straight away — the Onion Bhaji was crispy and full of flavour, and the King Prawn Tandoori was spot on, cooked beautifully with that lovely char you only get when it’s done properly. The mains were even better. The Chicken Jalfezi had the perfect balance of heat and spice, absolutely bursting with flavour. The Sizzling Chicken Tikka Shaslik arrived still crackling away and tasted every bit as amazing as it looked. And the Chicken Tikka Butter Chicken Masala… honestly, cooked to perfection — rich, creamy, and just delicious. A huge shout-out to Sam, who looked after us all evening. He was so knowledgeable about the menu, made great recommendations, and had such good craic with us — really added to the whole experience. The Rosé wine was gorgeous too and paired perfectly with everything we ordered. All round, it was one of those meals where every dish is a hit and the service makes you feel genuinely welcome. We’ll definitely be back — already looking forward to the next visit!
We went as a party of eight. We hadn't visited before. Right from the very start we felt well attended. Cheerful, efficient service. Well cooked, well presented 'British Curry House' fayre. Reasonable food prices although certainly not cheap. I can recommend the onion and kale bhaji, the excellent Peshwari nan and the large, filling, jalfrezi with masses of decent chicken breast and al-dente veg. My request for a lot of extra green chillies was perfectly accommodated. Our whole party was really really impressed with Tower Tandoori. I live locally (SE1), I'm definitely visiting again.
We had a great experience at this hidden gem. The service was exceptional like 5 star quality. The food was like real Indian homemade quality. Sultan was our waiter and he provided the best top notch customer service. Would recommend this to all the tourist looking for good quality Indian cuisine.
A Must-Visit! Incredible Food, Service & Ambience We had an amazing experience at Tower Tandoori in London. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed — the staff were incredibly polite, friendly, and well-behaved. Their welcoming attitude really stood out, and they made us feel comfortable throughout our meal. We ordered Chicken Jalfrezi, Paneer Lababdar, and plain naan. The Chicken Jalfrezi was cooked exactly how we requested — perfectly spiced and full of flavor. The Paneer Lababdar was deliciously creamy with a subtle sweetness and came with jeera rice. The naan was soft, fresh, and paired perfectly with both dishes. Everything tasted authentic and prepared with care. The ambience of the restaurant is wonderful — the place is beautifully decorated with a warm and inviting vibe. Even the bathroom surprised us — I don’t usually mention the restroom in reviews, but it was so clean, stylish, and thoughtfully decorated that it genuinely left an impression. You don’t expect a restaurant bathroom to be that nice! To top it off, after our meal, the staff served complimentary mango lassi shots, which was such a sweet and unexpected gesture. It was the perfect ending to our dinner. Overall, great food, beautiful ambience, and exceptionally welcoming staff. I truly loved everything about this place and would 100% recommend Tower Tandoori. We will definitely be coming back!
We arranged to have a celebratory lunch for 10 persons after our Civil Partnership Ceremony. The Tower Tandoori staff could not have been more attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. We were very pleased to have our event there and would highly recommend Tower Tandoori as a venue.
Hidden gem of a restaurant. Great tasting food, decent portion sizes, good service and nice atmosphere, can't go wrong! We had a nice chat with the owner Russell before we left, really nice guy and made us feel so welcome. Definitely will be back in future!
My wife and I visited here with good friends twenty five years ago. On this trip we returned with our son and were delighted to find Tower Tandoori still here. The food is absolutely incredible. I cannot recommend it strongly enough. This is some of the best Indian food I've ever had.
The, comfort and atmosphere is phenomenal! As we tasted around our order, we just got more and more excited. Sultan was also kind enough to adapt my order for a more mild flavouring and he was very intuitive throughout the process as we really needed time to savour everything. My only regret was my own choice, opting mild, because the other medium dishes were just mouth watering.
Honestly, such a great experience at Tower Tandoori. The food was proper delicious you can really taste the freshness and the spices were just right, not overpowering but full of flavour. The grilled dishes were cooked perfectly and the curries were rich and comforting. The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome from the start. It had such a nice, relaxed vibe. Definitely one of those places you leave thinking, “We need to come back here.
The vibe here is honestly amazing and so welcoming. The staff are incredibly nice, polite, and always ready to help you with whatever you need. They really care about the small things, and you can tell they pay close attention to every detail to make sure you have a great time. The food is also top tier. The lamb was so soft and tender it practically melted, and the mixed tandoori was packed with so much delicious flavor.
From the very first minute, the service at Tower Tandoori was outstanding. We were warmly welcomed and offered a lovely private table for two. As tourists visiting London, we knew we couldn’t leave without trying some authentic Indian food — and we definitely found the right place! Everything was incredible. The staff were attentive and friendly, giving us great recommendations throughout the evening. We were even surprised with a complimentary starter, which was a wonderful touch. Then we enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Masala — it was absolutely delicious, rich in flavor and perfectly cooked. To finish, we had a dessert tasting that was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. The wine list was excellent, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. We will definitely come back next time we’re in London. Thank you so much, Sultan, for the wonderful service!
We've lived in the neighbourhood for 7 years and have always been bemused by the bus loads of Indian tourists being taken to this restaurant. Well... there's a reason for it. The food is GLORIOUS. The pani puri, lamb chops, the melt in your mouth beef curry, the butter chicken - everything is delicious. And, the service impeccable. We will go back!!!
Loved this restaurant , we went to early on a weekday evening so not busy at all. Service was attentive and the menu is clearly marked with allergens making it easy to order. They also mentioned that if they have the ingredients they would go off menu too. I had the seafood special with bajis to start. Have to give a shout out to Siam who was our waiter that night . Will be back
Had a really lovely meal. There are enough vegan options on the menu to keep you satisfied. The staff were very welcoming, attentive and polite. We ate fairly early, but it soon started to fill up and the atmosphere was really nice. If you’re in the area you should certainly give it a go, whether you’re vegan or not. Highly recommended. Thank you Tower Tandoori for a pleasant evening.
As a Thai visitor to London, my dining experience at Tower Tandoori was absolutely delightful! The ambiance was inviting, with warm colors and traditional decor that made me feel right at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, offering helpful suggestions from the extensive menu. Every dish I tried was bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. The Tandoori Chicken was a standout, tender and flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. The naan bread was fluffy and aromatic, the perfect accompaniment to soak up every last bit of sauce. I left Tower Tandoori with a full belly and a smile on my face, eager to return for another taste of India in the heart of London. Highly recommended!
A very well designed Mughal-themed Indian restaurant. The food here is spot on and the atmosphere is fantastic! The restaurant's decor is stunning, with intricate details. The dishes are flavorful and authentic, especially the Lamb Shank and Biryani. The restaurant is located a few minutes away from Tower bridge in a great spot. The staff are very friendly. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend it!
We visited Tower Tandoori for a late night meal while visiting tower of London and the restaurant did not disappoint. Traditional Indian food, friendly team and lovely decor. We will be back! Special thanks to Sam & Sultan
The food was so delicious. Authentic Bangladeshi food and the service was amazing. Will definitely come back and will definitely recommend!!
Delicious food, excellent service and a wonderful atmosphere. We had Sultan looking after us and he was incredibly attentive and provided us with everyone we needed. The chicken tikka masala was delicious and the bhajis were a triumph. Just a really good curry, would absolutely recommend it.
Great food in a relaxing environment! Sultan and his staff made us feel special. Everything we ordered it was perfectly cooked.chicken tikka butter masala highly recomended. We’ll be back for sure!
Great meal, menu is smaller than your typical Indian restaurant but theirs is still plenty of choice and a handful of chefs specials which are seasonal. Quality of food was exceptional, as was the service. Portion sizes were good. Restaurant decorated really nicely too. Was really impressed by the whole thing and will definitely be back.
Delicious meal and great service from Sultan - Will be back! I got the butter chicken. It was very good. Very close to a couple of bus stops in public transit and it’s affordable.
Had a lovely meal yet again the service and food was exceptional. I was there the night the man complained about onions on his friends plate and I thought the staff handled it very quickly and without fuss. The complainer vastly overacted in my opinion. Great restaurant and will definitely be back soon. Thank you x
The gentleness and charming atmosphère as if you were again in that exotic place of india. I love the food. the service and the people serving wonderfull stuff. Would dearly recommend
I had a lovely experience having food at Tower Tandoori Restro. Staff were really helpful. Siam was really helpful and had smiley face all the time. It was very cosy atmosphere. I’d recommend this place if you want authentic curries…
Me and my friend ordered Chicken jalfrezi and Kadhai Paneer. Food was welcoming with good level of spicy and savoury. We were served by Mr. Sultan, he’s a good person who took his time explaining about the menu item we were ordering. Definitely I’ll return back to this restaurant.
Very good Indian food. The waiters are very kind and friendly. Perfect to go with your kids or not. We will be back for sure and totally recommend it.
The food was really nice, I really liked that they had chef's specials and were a little bit different than the usual Indian dishes. The prices were average for London, so yes, I paid almost £30 for my main, rice, half of the bread side and service charge. The portions are good (even though they look small in the photos, they are good and filling).
Special thanks to Sultan for his amazing service. He made our day with his kindness and attention to detail. I really loved the onion bhaji and the chicken tikka butter. Both were fresh, full of flavour, and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended.
This was a very well presented meal and it tasted excellent. Service was extremely polite. Atmosphere was a little quiet but there were a few other diners around. A good meal and I would recommend.
Tower Tandoori promises an immersive dining experience in a good location blending stunning ambiance, impeccable service, and tantalizing Indian cuisine. However, our visit left us with mixed feelings. Let's start with the positives. The ambience and decor are undeniably stunning. From the beautiful bar to the intricate decorations, every corner exudes authenticity. The fresh lilies and meticulously maintained bathrooms add a touch of luxury to the dining experience. Service, led by our server Dodo, was exceptional. The attentive staff ensured our comfort throughout the meal, earning high marks for their hospitality. Yet, the culinary journey fell short of expectations. While the portions were generous, the pricing structure felt unbalanced. Mains were reasonably priced at £15, but the accompanying sides, such as naan or rice, came with a hefty price tag of nearly £5 each, leaving diners questioning the value proposition. We sampled the chicken korma and mutton rogan josh. The korma, while adequately portioned, leaned excessively towards sweetness, detracting from its authenticity. The mutton rogan josh, though boasting medium spiciness, lacked the depth of flavor expected from traditional Indian cuisine. Having recently returned from India, the disparity in spice richness and flavor complexity was evident, leaving us somewhat disappointed. Admittedly, Tower Tandoori caters to a London palate, and expectations must be adjusted accordingly. While the experience was pleasant overall, the culinary offerings failed to justify the premium pricing, resembling those found in cheaper takeaway establishments rather than authentic Indian eateries. Overall, Tower Tandoori offers a charming ambiance and commendable service, making it a viable dining option in London. However, for those seeking an authentic Indian culinary experience, tempered expectations are advised. While it may not fully satisfy discerning palates craving genuine flavours, it undoubtedly provides a delightful dining experience worth exploring.
Went on a New Year’s Eve, and so there’s only a fixed course meal menu. We tired a two course meal. Starters were good, curries were decent and not too spicy. But the portions are less given high prices. Overall, a positive experience.
We have been here twice. The first time we thought it was amazing, and we came out literally so full we could’ve exploded, with 4 starters, 3 mains and 3 side dishes, couple of beers per person, and spent about £50/each (3 people). We came back yesterday thanks to the previous experience but we left disappointed. Portion size has gone down for the same price, and quality is good, but not mind blowing. With 4 people we ordered 4 starters, 4 mains, and several side dishes, and we left quite hungry still. Butter chicken was okay, decent. Dal Makhani was just bad. We spent £42/person and did not have any alcohol, which shows the increase in prices/decrease in quantity from about 6 months ago. Their naan is amazing, and you can’t fault the service, but unfortunately, it wasn’t a great experience.
Silton was very nice. And the barkeeper was too and seemed like a genuinely good person. The desert however was overpriced for the small portion I got and pretty average. I came in bc their takeout menu looked good and cheap, got a gin & tonic and a lemon & raspberry sherbet but it was two tiny scoops of each and the raspberry one was like ice flaky. For 8.50 pounds and 10.99 dollars it was kinda disappointing . The gin and tonic was normal. Pretty sure silton could tell I was not too happy (and saw that I was writing a review lol) so he brought me 2 little milk dumplings and they were interesting and good. And then he also marked down my bill so I was pleased with that. The restaurant was completely empty other than me and the employees so I should have taken that as a sign but it was very pretty. The chair was comfy but I couldn’t sit at the bar properly bc there was no overhang lol. Anyway what I got was overpriced and mid at best but they were very friendly and tried to make up for it. Maybe their dinner is better. Still ended up being 17 pounds after he marked something off.
This is one of the worst dining experience we’ve ever had as a group. My friends and I went to this restaurant as it had a good rating (likely all bought) but I echo the comments from most of the low ratings for this restaurant. My friend is allergic to onions and asked for this to be removed from his dishes. When the main dish was brought out, there was raw onions on the plate, on which the cooked food was laid on. When this was pointed out to the staff, instead of dealing with it straight away, they spent a good few minutes trying to convince my friend that there’s no onions “in the food”. After a few minutes of going nowhere, I abruptly asked them to just take the dish away and bring him a new main. This was met with anger and rudeness by the “owner”, who was extremely condescending and threatened to “throw me out” if I don’t just shut up and eat my food. God luck owning this business if this is how you treat paying customers. It was almost empty and now I know why. I do not recommend anyone to come here, there’s far better restaurants.
Astonishing rude conversation with manager regarding closing times. Our actual waiter and food wasn’t a problem, despite the managers best efforts to disturb us during our meal. I recommend they retrain the staff on customer service and communication.
I had one of the worst dining experiences of my life at Tower Tandoori on Tower Bridge Road, and I feel compelled to warn others. We visited for a friend’s birthday dinner — just four of us — and from the moment we entered, the attitude was off. The restaurant was practically empty, yet when I placed my coat on the chair of an unoccupied neighbouring table, a staff member abruptly told me I could not do that. Instead of offering a coat stand or a polite explanation, they placed it back on the chair I was sitting on. It was a small thing, but unnecessarily rude. The waiter taking our order at around 10:25 PM kept stressing, repeatedly, that the kitchen closes at 11 PM and that we must order everything at once. This set an uncomfortable tone, as though we were being hurried out despite being well within operating hours. The food was frankly awful. Starters were bland, and when the main course arrived, the portions were surprisingly tiny. The rotis were half-cooked, and the curries tasted as if raw chilli powder had been thrown on top at the last second. We politely raised this with the waiter — only for the manager to come over shouting at us. Instead of listening, he accused us of being impossible to please, told us to “just get out,” and bizarrely said he had “caught us on CCTV.” His tone was hostile, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. We were told not to pay and were essentially thrown out — on someone’s birthday — after being spoken to with utter disrespect. The manager, Sam, was disgustingly rude, dismissive, disrespectful, frankly unwelcoming. This behaviour was unacceptable on every level. Bad food is one thing, but aggressive management and disrespectful treatment of customers is another entirely. This restaurant ruined what was supposed to be a celebratory evening. I strongly advise avoiding Tower Tandoori. There are countless better Indian restaurants in London that know how to treat customers with basic decency.
Awful experience, rude manager and poor food quality We visited Tower Tandoori and had a genuinely awful experience. We were told the kitchen closes at 11 PM, so we placed our entire order at once. The starters came first and were average, so we didn’t complain. However, when the mains arrived, the quality was shocking, the naan was undercooked, and the curry tasted like the spices hadn’t been cooked properly at all. We politely mentioned this to the server, who informed the manager. Instead of having a normal conversation or even trying to understand the issue, the manager came over angrily and spoke to us with zero professionalism. He bluntly said, “I think nothing will please you, get out and don’t pay,” and asked us to leave. No attempt to resolve the complaint, no courtesy, nothing. Just pure rudeness and absolutely no sense of hospitality. This was completely unacceptable. Based on our experience, poor food and even worse management attitude, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Ordered Take out . The Dal makhani was old and so was the vegetable sort of side dish - both were smelling rotten and spoilt. The veg biryani was ok . Aloo Gobi though not on menu was made for us - ok . Called up restaurant and complained manager “ there are 20’people eating here they are all fine ! ( as though all of them were eating the same dish!) I offered to take the dish back to restaurant and make him smell / taste it . manager /owner - “ what is the purpose of u bringing it? I am telling it is fine !” . So much of insolence/ arrogance. Eat / order here at your own risk and peril. One of the worst food I have had across the world . They are fooling many …
The food was REALLY bad. The manager, Sam, was rude and unwelcoming. When we raised a complaint with the food, he said “nothing will please you guys. Please walk out without paying anything.” His tone was hostile and aggressive, even though it was our FIRST ever complaint with the food. He also said “there are 1500 British curry houses, go somewhere else”, which is completely unacceptable as a consumer. The service was really bad - overall a TERRIBLE experience and I would encourage people to not go there.
Don’t visit this rude and at best average restaurant. The owner lies when responding to low reviews. My recent visit was marred by aggressive and out of control owner who refused to acknowledge they were wrong to serve my friend onion when he said he was allergic. He kept explaining why they were already accommodating and even tried to convince him to eat from it by carefully removing the onions. You claim my friend apologised to you for my behaviour, this is a lie. As I left, you shook my hand as you realised you were wrong. My friend told me you apologised and asked if I would be leaving a review. Also, do you recall how aggressive you were? Your hands were shaking… I’m glad I’m not a female. As soon as I asked if you could stop trying to convince my friend to eat from the dish and bring him something new - you exploded with anger. Pointing and aggressively getting in my face, speaking over everyone because you’re the “owner”. You might be the owner but you should respect your customers. My friend is allergic to onions and his throat closes up if he eats it. If you dealt with the situation appropriately, why would any customer be upset? It makes no sense. Your restaurant is empty for a reason. If anyone wants to double check my experience, just look at the other one star reviews, which are all recent and also highlights how rude the owner is. NEW: you’re actually hilarious - aggressive by sitting down with you spitting angrily in my face? I think not. You take allergies serious? So serious you left the one thing your customer asked you to not include… you then go on to say what is “serious” in your comment - this means you completely minimised the serious issue of serving your customer food which they are allergic to. Report to the police? Don’t make me laugh - a crime has to be committed first 🤦♂️. Threatening your customers because you can’t handle a bad review. This says everything about your restaurant. I created a second review because I can’t respond to your responses. You never ask a customer to leave? Look at your review from 2 months ago by someone called r1y1r2y2 - he basically had the same experience as me. You asked him to leave and claimed you have CCTV. What is factual is I’ve never had a restaurant ever threaten me with kicking me out. Be aware, look at this restaurants negative reviews. They are real. The only problem here is I left a real experience to warn everyone and the owner can’t take it.
