Opinions de Wahaca Covent Garden London
Stumbled across this wonderful place by accident whilst hungry and thirsty on our trip. Our waiter was Javier R, and he was great at helping us look through the menu and recommending drinks. Everything we had was delicious! The best food we have eaten in a long time. We will be back! The atmosphere was delightful, and even though it was busy, we were given time to think and choose our meals. Thank you! It was your colourful window display that caught my attention. Our family favourite film is Coco.... now I want to visit Mexico 🇲🇽
Another fantastic visit to Wahaca in Covent Garden, our third in three years, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The consistency of the food here is incredible, making it a place we can return to again and again. We started with the non-alcoholic margarita and the strawberry and mint cooler, both of which were wonderfully refreshing, alongside tortilla chips and guacamole that were delicious. The sweet potato bravas were the highlight of the evening for us. We then enjoyed the chicken quesadillas, the corn, bean and feta tostada, and the gringa tacos, all of which were lip-smackingly good. A great experience once again, we will definitely be back next year.
It was our first visit to Wahaca (Covent Garden), I had pre-booked as wasn’t sure how busy the restaurant got, although our booking was early 5pm, but it was a Friday evening in London! We were seated quickly and introduced to our server Paulina who was very knowledgeable and explained the menu in length. Drinks ordered and delivered quickly, Paulina then took our order; House Nachos were ordered to share, then 2 x Pibil Burrito and Slow-Cooked Beef Burrito, Buttermilk Chicken Taco, Pork Pibil Taco & Grilled Ajillo Chicken Club Quesadilla. The food was served as it was ready and it was fantastic or banging as our teenage boys say!
Fantastic Mexican food in the heart of Covent Garden. Every dish was vibrant, fresh and full of flavour, with a great mix of textures and spice. The menu is perfect for sharing and trying a variety of dishes, and the cocktails are excellent too. The atmosphere is lively and fun, and despite being very busy the service was friendly and efficient. A reliable go-to for a great meal and a buzzing night out.
Excellent meal and drinks in Wahaca. The food was delicious particularly the esquites and the haloumi taco. Also loved the margarita flight where you could taste 3x different types of margarita. Superb service and overall great for a low key easy night out.
What a brilliant way to spend a Sunday lunch. Wahaca has added a flurry of new dishes to the menu, and they’ve absolutely nailed them. The esquites — bright, smoky corn in a cup — were wonderful. The pork belly skewer arrived like a tiny festival on a stick, and the tiramisu for dessert was quietly glorious. There’s also a new white-bean-and-chorizo dip with the chips that deserves its own little round of applause. Asia, our server, was an absolute delight — attentive, warm, and the sort of person who makes the whole visit feel a notch brighter. A genuinely lovely meal. Would happily return. 🌮✨
Had my last meal in London here. The restaurant has amazing interiors and cute decor, with a large, spacious layout. Tried the grilled chicken avocado tacos and chicken quesadilla-both felt a bit basic compared to other taco spots. Loved the avocado cos and spinach salad though. Overall, a good experience thanks to the vibrant ambience.
The menu was expansive and if you're like us and you're not sure what to order, go for the 'Feasting Menu'. It says it's for two but we could share two sets amongst 5 of us, 3 below 15 years old. The highlight for us were the vegetarian options such as the Sweet Potato & Feta Taquito. The sweet potato was baked and the insides were creamy and sweet. Topped with feta cheese, tomatoes and a mixture of sauces (I have no idea what!) and they just go so well. The Beet Tartare Tostadas was also a splendid surprise. Buttermilk Chicken Tacos and Grilled Brindisa Chorizo Quesadilla were our faves as well. Just make sure that you make reservations on their website. We were there on a Friday evening and I heard that it was an hour wait if you walk-in.
Amazing food, Gabriela was so nice and her recommendation of the chorizo nachos was really good. The food was the best I've had, even though the restaurant was so busy from the theatre performance we went to the staff were amazing and food came out in good time. Couldn't fault it thanks so much for making our trip to London lovely.
I can’t recommend Wuhaca in Covent Garden enough. As someone who lives for great vegetarian and vegan food, I found myself returning at least once a day just to try more of their incredible dishes -each one bursting with creativity and flavour. What makes the experience even better is the team who works there. The staff aren’t just friendly; they’re vibrant, caring, and they clearly enjoy working together, which creates an atmosphere that’s uplifting to be around. By the time you leave, you don’t just feel like a customer- you feel hugged, held, and genuinely cared for. Wuhaca is more than a restaurant; it’s a place where good food and good people come together in the best way.
One of our favorite restaurants for mexican food in central London, but in this particular spot the staff is absolutely fantastic, they are all very attentive, friendly and eficient, in particular one spanish waitress. This time we just came for the tres leches dessert, delicious!
My 2nd visit to Wahaca and I'm always impressed by the food here. Great tacos and a real mix of Latin American food. Not expensive either
Had a lovely time here with my boyfriend today, Sanila our server was great and the food was really good. Ordered an almost virgin margarita because I don’t like the taste of alcohol too much and he was so helpful with that. Overall lovely meal out :)
A fantastic place to go if looking for food in the covent garden area. Especially if you have children. The food was fresh and tasty, they were fantastic with my daughter's dairy allergy and I felt that they had listened and were following the correct protocols. The staff were so lovely and we felt very comfortable dining with a toddler during lunchtime. The wahaca for 1 was a lovely way to try a few things and I will be recommending their children's menu to everyone I know with children. Also the vegan chocolate ice cream is unreal!
Coming from the states and blessed with lots of authentic Mexican food, the food was absolutely delicious. Good and quick service on a busy night. Will definitely be returning when back down in London.
Love love love Wahaca! The ambiance here was wonderful. It was super full and there was a rather large queue to get in, so definitely book in advance. A bit warm inside.
A really great lunch, our waiter, Andre K, was super knowledgeable & great fun. The food & cocktails were delicious. We will definitely come back!
I had a great experience at this place! The tacos and burritos were incredibly fresh and flavorful – you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. The portions were generous, and everything was perfectly seasoned. On top of that, the staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole visit even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Food was lovely, came out very quick, drinks was lush. Would definitely come again
Great food, amazing space and staff service, the waiter Gabriela P was helpful and pleasant to meet, making the experience that was already good even better, definitely recommend
We recently celebrated my brother’s birthday at Wahaca, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Even though we arrived without a reservation at 18:30 on August 27th, the hostess greeted us warmly and ensured we were comfortable throughout the evening. The vibrant atmosphere and delicious Mexican cuisine made our meal truly memorable. The staff’s friendly service, especially our hostess, made the occasion special—we hope she knows how much we appreciated her help.
I had a great experience at Wahaca Covent Garden. Fast and attentive service. I have only ever been to the Cardiff one before and never had any issues, but the food here was even better. I particularly recommend the summer special cocktail, insanely good!!
Wahaca is truly Mexican hitting the right spice levels making for a satisfying gastronomic experience. Big shout out to Paulina for making this a delicious and memorable meal for us. Thank you 🙏. The corona was served ice cold. We requested Paulina to suggest vegetarian options and I’m glad we asked her. The summer veggie set menu came with cactus and courgette tacos, black bean quesadilla, beet root tostada, sweet potato taquito, crispy cauliflower, halloumi taco and avocado and cos salad. This is amazing value for money considering the deliciousness of the food and location.
Absolutely lovely food and brilliant waiters / waitresses. Great at their food recommendations. Would strongly recommend the nachos😁
I had a lovely experience at Wahaca. The food was delicious, the service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made for a really enjoyable time. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great Mexican cuisine and friendly vibes!
Great Mexican food, very tasty with interesting dressings. Florin was our waiter who was extremely helpful and friendly. Easy location in Covent Garden not too crowded. Would recommend!
Lovely waiter, amazing tacos, great music and lots of different options. Great for parties and lots of variety if portions, nibbles or big courses definitely go and if nothing sounds good (which it probably won’t) butterchicken tacos is the way to go!
My friend & I went for a meal after work without booking. We’ve been seated immediately. The waitress ( Ruyman Camacho) who came in to take our orders was such a fabulous host. Ruyman was so welcoming, friendly, his energy is just what you need while in a restaurant. Thank you for taking care of us & many thanks for the candle & chorizo for my birthday. Such a wonderful touch 💚. We ordered small plates variety. Everything was so tasty. The overall atmosphere was absolutely great. Enjoyed my time and going back again for sure.
Visited last weekend for the first time and had an absolutely amazing time! The food was delicious and the drinks were even better! We had Sandra as our server and she was lovely, made the experience all the better :) Would definitely recommend and would totally go again!
After a business meeting, we headed back to King’s Cross and after consulting with my brother-in-law to double-check, we popped into Wahaca. We weren’t disappointed. The food and drink were excellent and bar a slight delay with the dessert the customer service was exceptional too. We shared nachos to start followed by burritos, which were excellent. As were the margaritas! The basil Mezcalita was delightful!! Highly recommend but might be worth booking in advance as it was very busy. Kudos to the chefs and to Miguel for great customer service and recommendations.
Thanks to our super host, Paulina M, we had an excellent time at the Wahaca! We were treated to amazing food which was recommended by Paulina as well considering our vegetarian preference. Truly delighted, can’t wait to come back!
We came here for dinner having never been before, and were thoroughly impressed. The food was so lovely and fresh, and were very accommodating towards a dietary requirement. Our server, Paulina W, was really friendly and informative, and gave us fab recommendations for food. She went above and beyond with serving us and made the experience that much more enjoyable.
SO delicious! Our blonde server who was a woman, I didn’t get her name unfortunately, was excellent! She was so attentive, friendly and her recommendations were all on point. Delicious non alcoholic cocktails and tasty food with great service!
Excellent Experience at Wahaca I had a wonderful experience at Wahaca, and it truly deserves a great review. The food was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented, making the whole dining experience very enjoyable. A special mention goes to Sandra, who provided outstanding service. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. Her warm attitude and professionalism really stood out and made us feel welcome. The atmosphere at Wahaca is vibrant and inviting, and the staff clearly take pride in delivering great customer service. I would highly recommend visiting Wahaca if you’re looking for delicious food and excellent hospitality. I’ll definitely be returning again and would encourage others to visit as well.
I went to Wahaca Covent Garden a couple times recently pre theatre and the experience was really great! The food was lovely and great value ( a combination of tacos, sunshine bowls and a couple sides), but what made it truly great, was an exceptional service from Andre, who served us both times. We were instantly welcomed by his warm smile and positive attitude and he was very helpful and attentive throughout. When I came the second time he actually remembered my drink, which made me very special! Thank you Andre, you are truly an asset to Wahaca! We’ll be back!
Matilda S was a great server! she was kind and smiley she made sure everything was perfect and we had everything we needed , brilliant food had a fab time and me and my family all had smiles on our faces! I would definitely recommend, the atmosphere is great and perfect for families or big groups! The food is delicious and all the staff are very welcoming and friendly
Wonderful food and wonderful staff! We were served by Cosima, who along with the rest of the staff, was very attentive. The food was brilliant - our family tried a range of dishes. The children's meal was both health and tasty. We would definitely return.
Fabulous food - we had the sharer platter so we could taste as much as possible! All absolutely delicious and great value for money! And really reassuring that staff take the allergen aspect very seriously which meant I could enjoy every mouth full with confidence. Thank you to Asha, Billy and to all the staff - especially the margarita makers! 👌🏼
We went there spontaneously and were seated immediately. Our server readily provided his recommendations and was very respectful, we ended up choosing the favourites feasting menu. We were provided with a prompt service even as the restaurant was getting busy. The hostess Sienna was lovely, very accommodating, and helpful. She even went out of her way to make sure we had a memorable evening!
Absolutely fantastic food and drink here! Cannot recommend highly enough. We had the veggie set menu, which was absolutely delicious! The spicy margaritas were the best I’ve ever had. You will not be disappointed here! Fab location too.
Authentic Mexican street food made to a very high standard (the grilled sea bass taco platter was “off the chart” good) And the service was fantastic! Very relaxed and welcoming. We’re now total Wahaca converts!
Excellent experience at Wahaca Covent Garden. The food was delicious and full of flavor, and the service was outstanding. Even though we arrived late for our reservation, our table was still waiting for us, which we really appreciated. Our waiter was fantastic – friendly, attentive, and very professional. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cameron was absolutely outstanding and genuinely made our evening. We arrived close to closing time and my partner was feeling quite stressed because of it, but Cameron never rushed her for a second. He was incredibly patient and reassuring, giving us plenty of time and making us feel completely comfortable rather than like an inconvenience — which says a lot about his character and professionalism. During the meal, my partner didn’t like one of the sauces that came with her dish, and without any hesitation Cameron offered to replace the entire dish free of charge. That level of care and attentiveness is rare and really appreciated. Throughout the evening he was very talkative, polite, and genuinely lovely to chat to, striking the perfect balance between friendly and professional. He is a real credit to the restaurant and turned what could have been a stressful situation into a really enjoyable experience. Service like that doesn’t go unnoticed. Massive thanks to Cameron — truly 5-star service in every sense.
A bit disappointing on the food. Large seating and decent service. The sweet potato bravas was good. The rest of the food was unremarkable. For example, the sauces in each of our dishes were less than what was required.
The exterior looks great and makes you definitely want to see inside. I had the chicken burrito and it was delicious. It had a nice atmosphere but it was very loud yet still easy to talk. The main complaint was that the waiter was a bit rude and impatient.
Lovely Mexican restaurant on the edges of Covent Garden. Great attentive service, good ‘authentic’ choices (small plates) and good price. Thanks :)
The window display attracted us to the restaurant originally. It was a really nice setting inside with plenty of seating. The food was good. Just a shame that our waiter was pretty miserable and arrogant.
Visit June 2025 - 2 people From the moment we arrived, the service stood out — warm, attentive, and incredibly efficient. Staff were quick to clear finished plates, making space for the next dishes and our server was friendly and professional throughout. We only managed to photo of the first dishes because everything came out so quickly, and we were far too hungry! The food itself was fresh, vibrant, and nicely presented. We chose the favourite set menu, which offered a well-balanced mix of flavours and dishes - a great way to sample a bit of the best dishes. The only slight letdown was the churros, which unfortunately seemed a bit overcooked and didn’t quite match the high standard of the rest of the meal. All in all, an excellent dining experience with outstanding service and delicious food — we'll definitely be back.
I went for the Sunshine Bowl with grilled chicken - fresh, filling and not too heavy (plus it has 30 plants in one portion) We shared nachos - because how could we not - and yes, we did get churros. Always room for churros You can definitely go all out at @wahaca with the delicious burritos, tacos and quesadillas, but if you’re trying to strike more of a balance there are plenty of lighter options too Follow me on Instagram for more food reviews: @hungry_hesketh
The menu is a little complicated and not very clear. I’ve visited a few times, and it can be quite noisy with the music being a bit too loud — today it wasn’t a very pleasant experience. The food is decent, and I would come back, but it’s not a place I’m particularly excited about. Other branches around London seem to offer a slightly different atmosphere.
