We had such a great experience here. The food was absolutely delicious, and our waitress was amazing. She was super friendly and so attentive — she brought drink refills before we even had to ask, which I really appreciate. (That’s a big deal for me, because I can’t stand when you’re stuck waiting forever for a refill.) My husband had a medical procedure earlier that morning and hadn’t been able to eat for about 12 hours. He was really looking forward to a good steak, and Saltgrass definitely delivered. Everything came out perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Overall, just a great meal and great service.

I had lunch at this location today and I very rarely write reviews but I would be remiss if I didn't come on here to talk about the server that we had today. Her name was Raven and she is an exemplary example to her entire profession. She was attentive prompt and kind. She went out of her way to make our dining experience special. We started with mozzarella sticks they came out hot and fresh. Great cheese pull moment. As my entree I had the salmon and mashed potatoes both were savory and delicious. But overall the standout for my experience was the incredible service that we received. Truly dedicated to her craft of making our dining experience a memorable one. Five stars for this her alone... she is an amazing asset to your company. We will definitely be back and we will ask for her every time 😁

I had a wonderful meal (one of the best in a long time) at Saltgrass Steakhouse, during a business trip to McKinney! I ordered the Dynamite steak and shrimp, a sweet potato, and tortilla soup. Everything was absolutely delicious! The steak in particular was so incredibly tender (like butter!!!), well seasoned, and perfectly cooked! The tortilla soup was also excellent (light and well seasoned). My waiter, Keon, was super friendly, funny, and attentive, making the whole dining experience even better. The manager also stoped by to ask me about my dining experience - she was very friendly and polite. I would highly recommend Saltgrass Steak House for anyone looking to have a great meal and service! Their prices are fair, especially given the high quality ingredients they use!

Definitely recommend! Even better than Roadhouse! The service here is fantastic—polite servers, great food, and a true scratch kitchen that can accommodate any dietary concerns. I usually don’t like going out to restaurants, but I came here for my daughter’s birthday and was so impressed. The staff made my birthday girl feel extra special on her special day, which meant a lot to us. They were also very respectful when I chose not to order anything myself, unlike other places that try to pressure you. Overall, a wonderful experience with excellent food, amazing service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

I had such a great dining experience at Saltgrass today, 8/30/2025! The waiter Chris provided excellent customer service to my friend and I—he was professional, attentive, and had a great sense of humor that made the visit even more enjoyable. The restaurant was clean, including the bathrooms, and the temperature inside was just right for a comfortable meal. The food was absolutely delicious (highly recommend the seafood dishes and baked potatoes!). Overall, this location exceeded my expectations, and I’ll definitely be returning.

Saltgrass has always been one of my favorite places to eat—no matter the city or state—and my recent visit was no exception. This time, I sat at the bar and was taken care of by Kira, and I have to say, she made the experience even better. Kira was attentive, friendly, professional, and clearly on top of her game. She checked in on me just the right amount—enough to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed, but never overbearing. I truly appreciated that balance. She created a relaxed and welcoming environment, and I really enjoyed our conversation. As for the food, I ordered my usual: the blackened redfish. And honestly? This was the best blackened redfish I’ve had across any Saltgrass I’ve visited. Kudos to the cook—I’ve heard they’ve been there since the early ’90s, and it absolutely shows in the quality of the meal. This was a top-notch dining experience, and sitting at the bar with Kira made it even more memorable. Kira, if you happen to see this: keep being the bright star that you are. Your positive energy will take you far in life.

It’s not a high-end place but it’s good when you don’t want to spend top dollar on prime steak. on occasion, they’ll make a small mistake, but they fix it quickly and without issue. I was not really impressed. But maybe it's just me?? We've been eating clean since October, so going out to eat was going to be a huge treat and much anticipated! We both had the ribeye. Medium cooked. I had baked potato loaded. We both left only eating 1/2 our food and taking the rest home. Only to throw away later. Maybe it was just a bad day for everyone. I don't like my steak over seasoned, I want to taste the beef! I felt this one was over seasoned, very salty, tenderness was good, I'd give that a 5. Went for dinner a few weeks ago and the atmosphere was quite nice, the drinks are really good. We ordered the brisket cheese dip ( I don’t eat meat, my bf loved it), he ordered steak with salad and I had the grilled fish with crab and shrimp on top ( not sure of the exact name) the shrimp and crab was tasty but the fish had ZERO flavor it just was not good. I am a person that does not need heavily salted food, but this fish had nothing on it. I was so disappointed the manager did remove from the bill, but I wanted to love it so bad bc the shrimp and crab was excellent. We also ordered the chocolate cake and it was soooooooo goodddddd. Bar tender Lillian was great! Very attentive! Food was about what I would get at a fast food. Cleanliness could have been better. $150 for chicken fried steak, grilled chicken breast dinner and 2 drinks each. Getting a little $$$.

Pros: We really enjoyed the atmosphere, and our server was kind, attentive, and accommodating. The wedge salad and ribs were delicious, and the fresh bread and butter served at the table was a great touch. Cons: We dined right after the dinner rush when the restaurant wasn’t busy, but we still felt rushed. Our main course was brought out while we were still eating our salads. Unfortunately, the bluefish and shrimp were extremely overcooked, and the steak bites were very tough. The hostess was also unfriendly.

Our experience was almost ruined by the hostess. We had a reservation but the event we had before going to the restaurant finish mych earlier then expected. We head over to the restaurant an hour earlier then then set reservation initially we we told no problem since the place was fairly empty however she late us waiting for over an hour. When we asked about being seated the hostess was rude and and hateful. We had to get the manager involved in order to be seated We had rib eye which were cooked medium rare but they were tough and dry It will be a good minute before we give them another chance

We had reservations for 10. The manager tried to set us at a table backed up to the wall. The chairs were crammed into the spacing was so tight that each seat was touching. We were finally moved to a larger table . We placed our drink order and appetizers were ordered. Our server, Brandon, cleared the used dishes and took orders for our main dishes. There was a long wait, but we expected this and no one complaining. We were getting concern regarding the time, it was 3:15. Our reservation was from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. When the food arrived two of the steaks were cold, the pat of butter wouldn’t melt., the bake potatoes were cold. Our son’s chicken fried steak was cold with cold gravy . My granddaughter received her French fries after she finished her steak. We were a large group, which is why we make the reservation three weeks ahead. We all arrived at 1:45 pm. We had our food boxed up to be reheated at home. We were done at 3:36 pm. The only good experience was Brandon. He checked on us, joked with our granddaughters. His services were excellent. The manager wasn’t helpful, he was short and rude.

I am from the east coast and fly into Dallas. I always eat at the McKinney restaurant. I was so disappointed. I always look forward to the shrimp cocktail. No shrimp cocktail. I ordered your porterhouse. Sure did look and tasted like a tbone. I ordered agu sauce. They were out @ 4pm . Your restaurant has gone so down hill. Am sad to say I’ll never eat there again. You could do a lot better!

Food is good, service is good however we were told if we get dessert they will sing happy Birthday to my mom and it would "amazing". After ordering dessert they told us they didn't have matches. Thats a poor customer service. Waiter assigned to our table was great. It was another waiter who served the food that told us about the dessert.

Since this was a to-go only shall speak about the food and service only We had ordered the Center cut Fillet 6 oz with 2 Range Rattlers and Garlic Mashed Potatoes and cup of Potato Soup. Along with this we ordered the Cheeseburger with Fries and the grilled Salmon with steamed Broccoli and cup of Potato Soup . First, they sealed off the to-go bag so determinedly, it seemed fishy and only on reaching home when we actually cut open the bag, we found major misses! They missed out on including 2 items - the Range Rattlers and the cops of Potato Soup completely. And the Garlic Mashed Potatoes had no garlic and the steam Broccoli was just served as is, not steamed. Since they had charged $9 for the Range Rattlers that they missed including in our order , we decided to call customer service who directed us to the manager of the franchise. The first thing we were told there would be no comp-off ( even though we had not asked for it directly), we just sought options. They asked us to come back and take the Range Rattlers, so that’s what we did. The missing cups of potato soup were never discussed or given. Now about the food quality: As you would see in the photos attached, overall packing was without a thought to preserve food quality or freshness of preparation. The filet was the only item that was adequate in taste and cooked correctly ( medium rare) The accompanying Garlic Mashed Potatoes was garlic-less and just a lump of puréed potatoes, quite bland and saltless. The Cheeseburger patty was a stiff lump of meat not quite cooked enough after thawing the frozen puck and without much taste or flavor, while the accompanying fries were actually ok. And the Grilled salmon had great char marks but was way over cooked to a rock hard consistency. As mentioned earlier Steamed Broccoli needed to be steamed more . All in all, does not entice us to go in for a dine in unless above noted issued are verifiably corrected. Overall not a value for money spent.

Used to be a good place. Recently feels like something has changed. Always got the NY strip and last time i got some fat veiny strip. For the price it should be the right steak at a steak house. Service went from phenomenal to almost annoyingly bad, never there when you need them, bothering you when you don't type of thing. Atmosphere is also like a chilis/crackerbarrel kinda vibe. That changed a while ago but still not into it.

Ordered the blackened redfish many times before. This particular day/order was literally just lazy and no effort. The fish was rubbery and overcooked, but the side salad was honestly just ridiculous. Not sure who thought it was ok to put it in someone’s bag maybe they just have no system in place to remove clearly old food or what but they need to do better.
