They were sold out of the burnt ends when I ordered but the ribs did not disappoint. The ribs were falling off the bone, the pineapple BBQ sauce I got on them was fantastic. The apple coleslaw and corn bread were also great. I couldn't rave more about the food, large portions and great service. I hope to be paying through Horseheads again so I can stop by.

My wife and I dined in and we had the place to ourselves. The manager was very polite, helpful and she had great customer service. The food came out within a few minutes and it was delicious. I ordered the brisket platter (chopped) with a side of pork and beans and Mac&Cheese. I also ordered a sandwich roll on the side. The brisket was tender, full of flavor and had almost no fat. The pork and beans and Mac&Cheese were both delicious. We also tried the honey buttered cornbread. It was excellent. I only wish we found this place sooner. The inside is small with only a couple of tables, but the food is great and the employees are friendly. We will definitely be back soon! 😀

Best BBQ we've had since living in NC...excellent. Collard greens were absolutely perfect...generous portions of perfectly cooked meat. Very flavorful. Vinegar sauce was yummy...will definitely return and highly recommend!

Friendly staff, large portions, and very good BBQ. My wife ordered a half rack with mac and cheese and barbecue beans. I am not a big BBQ eater but ended up eating some of hers. It was so good I ended up ordering a brisket sandwich the next day. They also offer a military discount.

I've been to plenty of bbq joints north and south of the mason dixon and this place is one of the best 👌. the fat daddy is my favorite, and the brisket on wick is to die for if you can catch it when it's on special... get some fat cty in your tummy tum

Amazing eatery! Have been wanting to try this place for awhile, finally got a chance today. Easy to get to, plenty of parking opportunities. As soon as I opened the door, all I could smell was the delicious smoky scent of barbecue. Small space inside, only two tables to eat at, but outdoor seating was also available. Daily specials are posted, today happened to be smoked chicken wings, and a side cucumber salad was offered for an additional fee. We ordered the Carolina Pork Platter and Pork Fat Platter with two sides. The Carolina Pork Platter is dry rubbed, then wet mopped with a vinegar sauce, and comes topped with an apple slaw, which I wasn't sure about at first but ended up being a delicious combination! Slightly smoky pork (perfectly prepared in my opinion) with the crunchy slaw and a side of the vinegar mop comes with the plate as did a warm piece of cornbread. Portion was ample, better than I expected. We ordered the Pork Fat Platter with two sides- macaroni salad and baked beans. I've had many macaroni salads in my day, and generally they are all about the same, but I liked this version better than most for some reason. Not sure exactly how it is prepared, but it had boiled egg, anneli pasta, and celery. The baked beans were above and beyond the usually supplied dish that is offered by others. There were cooked peppers included, and a sprinkling of bacon bits on top. Very well done!!! Staff was SUPER friendly, and accommodating. Will definitely return again!!!

I moved to Central NY a few years ago and someone told me that the closest Kansas City-level BBQ place is in Kansas. I am originally from Kansas City with a high BBQ standard. This place exceeded my expectations! I have been looking for a BBQ place that can match my expectations. Today, I tried the burnt ends platter with mac and cheese and turkey collard greens, and they were absolutely delicious. The burnt ends were perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of smoky flavor, and the sides were the perfect complement to the dish. I also had the brisket sandwich, which was great as well, with cucumber salad (their special of the day). The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the bun was so nice. Their BBQ sauces were so great. I tried both honey BBQ and apple BBQ sauces. This place is a hidden gem in a small town in NY. I can surely say this is a must visit when you are around the area.

Heard good things so I had to check the place out. It’s small inside but incredibly clean! They clearly care about the quality of their food and establishment. The burnt ends and Mac and cheese I got were delicious, as well as the corn bread (it’s actually some of the best I’ve had!). Employees were polite, took my order quickly and got my food to me hot and fresh. Highly suggest this restaurant if you like good BBQ

It’s hard to find good bbq in this area. This place outdid itself! Their is a lot of options to chose from and decently priced. This is definitely a hidden gem in the Horseheads/Elmira area. Customer service was awesome, answered many of the question we had. They went above and beyond for us! Will definitely visit again.

I got the sampler platter. It's not on the menu but I guess they have been asked for it before because it is in the computer. It was smoked turkey, brisket and pulled pork with a side of brisket chili. It must of been good because I ordered sausage and burnt ends to go. They were a good midnight snack. My wife got the creamy cheese n mac with pulled pork. She liked that.

Super friendly staff, the restaurant was very cozy and had cute artwork and ugh, the food 😍 I got the fully dressed brisket sandwich. The brisket was melt in your mouth, the coleslaw was flavorful and crisp. and the combination of all the toppings was just heavenly. I also got a side of their cheese and mac and a slice of their honey cornbread. I think I've found my new religion! Everything was cooked to perfection. Definitely have found my new comfort food stop! ♥️

EAT HERE! If you are a BBQ lover, and even if you're not, Fat City is not only a must try, but it's a spot you need to incorporate into your dining routine on the regular. I tried the burnt ends, brisket, cornbread, slaw, and cheesy Mac and washed it down with their peanut butter pie. If you don't eat here, you will hate yourself for it. Sidebar - In my 40 year eating career, this is the only time I have ever left a review. Chef, please keep it up and please, bring a Fat City downstate! ♥️

Found this place by trusting reviews on google maps and it did not disappoint. Fat city BBQ was easy to locate. They had a variety of options on the menu. We went with the burnt edges and ribs. Both dishes came with a large quantity of meat and delicious. The burnt edges were packed full of flavor. The ribs were cooked to perfection, falling right off the bone. For sides we selected the baked beans, chili, macaroni salad and callord greens. The baked beans were dynamite, the chili was flavorful with a touch of spice that hit just right. All beans were tender and hot, cooked just right. I hope this review doesn't detere you from going, but helps the owners to do better where they can. If they don't know- they can't make a change. The macaroni salad was my least favorite item. It was a basic salad but a bit dry, and lacked flavor (compared to the other menu items). It needed more mayo, dill maybe, some salt and pepper to taste. The collard greens were different but tasty. They were cooked with Turkey, tender and popped in your mouth but they lacked something. Maybe some crushed red pepper would have been inviting? The corn bread was on point. It wasn’t sweet, but exactly how corn bread should taste. To complete our meal we ordered dessert to go. Peanut Butter pie, that was rich and tasty and the Chocolate Hazelnut Pie that was just like biting into a velvety Ferrero Rocher! I'll definitely be back to try more off the menu. This is a great BBQ spot, possibly the best in the area. Worth the stop to try. The decorations are tasteful and the restaurant is immaculate, it makes you feel that they care not only about how your food taste but the environment in which you eat your food in, and where it's cooked. They even have t-shirts for sale! Support small businesses and get here!

I do like this barbeque place but the food is hit or miss. The brisket is not always tender the burnt ends aren’t always tender. Today I got brisket and my husband got ribs. My brisket definitely could have been better, the macaroni salad was ok. my husband ribs were good and the brisket chili and greens he didn’t care for.
