Had a lovely stay at the Granby Inn. Staff were welcoming and pleasant. Rooms were spacious and clean. The food was delicious with good sized portions and presentation. The chef is amazing considered staying another night just to taste his curry 😋. Best ever steak burger tasted and the puddings are to die for especially sticky toffee one. Definitely good value for money. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Arrived for a holiday in Longframlington and delighted to find the Granby offering Sunday Lunch which was excellent! We all had the turkey and being December had christmas crackers too. All had desserts including christmas pudding, cheesecake and sticky toffee sundae and all 10/10. Best meal out for ages. The staff all very friendly and helpful. Thank you
Spent three nights here on holiday. We were made extremely welcome and our rooms were very clean including the en suites. The breakfasts were served quickly freshly prepared. The poached eggs were perfect and the needs of individuals taken care of with a smile. The evening meals were excellent and fully prepared on site. The desserts are delicious. Though I've given five stars the decore and flooring are perhaps in need of an update but in my opinion don't take away from a good experience.
Best steak I've had for a long time...would highly recommend. Friendly staff and great choice of food. Quality ingredients and gorgeous presentation. Dog friendly too! Will definitely return if I'm ever in the area again. Thank you x
Great Sunday lunch experience, had the beef which was cooked pink in the middle, plenty of food on the plate. Very tasty. Also had take away from here which was delivered and again very good standard. Highly recommended.
Just back from a lovely few days in Northumberland, made better by the lovely people at The Granby Inn! The food was scrumptious, the room spacious, spotless and delightful. The shower room was excellent- as were the towels. Unusually, lately, the room was made up everyday with fresh towels and soaps etc. Looking forward to the next time , when I will attempt to kidnap the Chef!
Quiet family run pub Excellent pub grub Friendly helpful staff
We only used restaurants, chose it only because we just arrived in the area and it was the closest place to have something to eat . OMG, what a great choice. Service was absolutely amazing , and Lady serving us super friendly and gentleman behind the bard is absolutely great. Food was superb, we really didn't expect that , and stick toffee pudding 😋 🤎💛🤎💛 no words to describe.
Absolutely delicious, we had the beef burger and steak pie after a walk around simonside which was 10/10 - homecooked and definitely one of the best pub lunches we've had in a while! Highly recommend
Had the most wonderful stay, staff could not have made us feel more welcome if they tried, rooms were clean, food was amazing would highly recommend staying here, will definitely be back.
Absolutely lovely meal went with family myself and my nan had a kids meal and a starter which was fantastic value my mother had the scampi which was also fantastic, huge shoutout to Judith who was lovely and very helpful! Highly recommend
We only went here for a meal so cannot comment on the rooms but it is in a gorgeous rural village. The food was amazing and the pricing ,I don't believe, was high for the food we received. The staff were also really welcoming. It was a week night when we went and it was so lovely and quiet with such a nice atmosphere.
We decided to order fish and chips from the Granby as we were staying just outside the village. They don't deliver which is fine. A very nice young lady answered the phone and, took our order and requested a collection time. On collection, everything was ready so no waiting around. On returning to our holiday accommodation and unpacking the food, it was found to be humongous !! So much so, we couldn't eat it all. The fish was done to perfection and the chips ( we went for the hand cut ones) were a mouthful in themselves. All the food was piping hot and, the price was surprisingly inexpensive. We pay much more at home for fish nowhere near the size from the Granby. Whether you take away or eat in, this meal is a must have. We'll be back in 2024.
Had a wonderful time here for two nights! Fantastic relaxed service and wonderfully looked after. You won't be in better hands! Deffo would come back here. Everything was clean and nice. The rooms are well equipped. The breakfast was filling with veggie options as well as decaf coffee. Well done to all the team!
Stopped off here for a Sunday lunch & we weren't disappointed. Cosy, welcoming place with delicious food! Roast beef was top notch with the best home made Yorkshire puds I've ever tasted. Definitely recommend 👌🏼
We visited for the first time tonight we had the wine & dine menu and would highly recommend! We was welcomed with friendly faces and a warm traditional atmosphere, gorgeous food and wine and such good value! We will definitely be returning absolutely superb 😊
Great place really cozy room food is fantastic the Sunday roast is by far the best I have ever had. Breakfast is first class Full English is perfect can’t recommend it enough
We popped in to this pub/restaurant two days ago for lunch, the fish and chips were amongst the finest we have eaten lately, Megan the landlady was very welcoming, will certainly come again on our next visit.
Had a lovely meal last night staying locally and checked menu which has great options, nice ambience about place good service we had Tempura prawns to start, superb, followed by a succulent tender Rump steak, and scampi chips both excellent will definitely be back,
Ordered takeaway at around 4.45pm and it was delivered in good time, even though we are staying in a place hard to locate. Staff taking the order and delivery staff were very friendly. Absolutely delicious food, fresh and still nice and hot when it arrived. You could tell that the sauces were home made and that the meals had been cooked fresh. The mains we had were prawn curry and paprika and lemon chicken breast in sauce, both with hand cut chunky chips. The sauces were so nice that we wished we’d had a naan to dip in and enjoy what was left! Loved them and would definitely order again from here. High quality, reasonably priced and delicious! Highly recommend this pub for food. Not been in yet, or stayed, but if we didn’t have two boisterous large dogs, we wouldn’t hesitate to call in for a drink.
I went to The Granby last night for the first time and had a fish and chip meal. The food was wonderful, the staff were very friendly, and the general attmosphere was very inviting. Definitely coming back
Had a fantastic delivery today, delivered to Percy Woods. The guy on the phone was very friendly & he kept us updated on the delivery, letting us know when he was on his way. The food was delicious, we had potato skins, garlic bread with cheese & king prawns with chorizo & rice, we couldn't finish it between 2 of us. I would definitely recommend it & will be ordering again ☺️
We stopped here for Sunday lunch. We had a top quality roast dinner and excellent service. There was a lively and chatty atmosphere in the restauant.
Unexpected over night stay, found a jewel. Food was amazing, staff were very friendly and helpful, room was spotless and spacious, very good sleep. Would definitely stay again.
Just called in for lunch, with our dog.. we were made to feel very welcome , had a wonderful meal with great service. Will definitely recommend
We had a fantastic stay and food was so lovely!! Worth every penny! People are so lovely too which made our stay even better.
Stayed here for one night passing through. Clean and nice enough.
Food was excellent . Best meal we have had in a long time and the owners and staff were very welcoming
Lovely country pub and rooms. Very comfortable, clean, staff welcoming. Ate in pub in the evening. Food delicious and plentiful, well cooked and hot. Breakfast choice excellent, I took kippers, a treat for me. My husband had a cooked breakfast and it was great. Longframlington is a pretty village close to Alnwick, Morpeth and a many other Northumbrian, interesting places.
Lovely old pub set in a scenic village only 15 minutes drive to Alnwick. The rooms were really clean and well equipped. The food was really good and would recommend booking in for evening meal there. The staff were really helpful and friendly and they made our stay perfect! Highly recommend.
Very nice pub/restaurant in the village of Longframlington. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Gorgeous food. All homemade. Not sure about rooms as I was only there for food. I would definitely eat there again
First visit here, as we happen to be in the area. A lovely country pub, great welcome from the owner. Good food, the steak was really good, as was my burger. So stuffed after mains and starters we couldn't even consider dessert.
Lovely thick roast beef and lots of it . Actual killer Sunday roast and great value with normal Sunday prices even on Mother's day where most other establishments would stick on a premium. Nice morreti too. 10/10 Great service Great chef.
3 of us stayed here for our fishing trip. All of The staff were friendly. Nice bar felt like there was a lot of history there. The food was perfect every night and as we were being picked up early for fishing they made the effort to take our breakfast order the night befor and had it ready for 7:30am. Perfect start to the day everyday. Couldn't recommend this place more if your going that way stop here.
Enjoyed a delicious curry and red wine on their curry/sizzler night at The Granby Inn!! Fantastic tasty curry, served fresh and hot with a large portion of fluffy rice with poppadoms. Friendly, efficient service and good value!! Perfect!! We will be back!
Called in on the off chance of a table for my husband's birthday. The lovely Laura was very helpful and gave a good recommendation of the Scotch Broth soup for starter which I had and it was delicious. My husband had the black pudding and a type of chutney which he enjoyed. For main I had salmon Wellington and vegetables which was extremely nice and my husband had steak with peppercorn sauce, onion rings and chunky chips which he really enjoyed. For dessert he had vanilla rice pudding and mine was rhubarb cheesecake. Both were delicious. It was a 3 course meal for £21.95 and well worth it. At the end they brought a lovely board with fudge, cinder toffee, and crumble with a sauce saying Happy Birthday which was a very nice gesture. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were very nice especially the lovely Laura and would highly recommend a visit but might be best to book although we were lucky and got a good table next to the fire. 5*
Lovely little Inn. Relaxed atmosphere and staff are friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The only thing I would say is the cream tea would have been better with a couple of little sandwiches but the scones were delicious. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Excellent place booked online had a beautiful steak really warm and friendly atmosphere would recomend thanks from Paul & Amanda
Excellent food with focus on fresh, local produce and all homemade including turkey/mushroom pie, steak/ale pie & cottage pie & the sticky toffee pudding (delicious!). Roaring log fire & friendly welcoming staff. It is so refreshing to find a restaurant (& believe us we had to search & it was SO worth it) which is primarily food & customer friendly rather than 'dog friendly' as we definitely do not appreciate eating with dogs! If you love home made food, tasty & wholesome & exceptionally well presented with fresh veg you will love this restaurant. We will be returning again for the third time before we return home from our holiday in northumberland.
We rang on Saturday to book for Sunday Dinner the following day. Though the gentleman on the end of the phone didn't give us a lot of confidence that the kitchen would be able to cater for my mother's allergies, we decided to give it a go anyway. How glad are we that we did. On entering the building the lady behind the bar couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Our allergy issues were dealt with and we were assured the kitchen would be able to cater for her needs. The Sunday 'Lunch' which we had at 5pm was absolutely delicious, honestly the best roast beef I have had in many years. The staff were wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful, without being in our face. If we were to have one niggle it would be that the place (in particular the toilets) could do with a renovation. But honestly, even bearing that in mind we would fully recommend this place to anyone looking for a knock out Sunday Roast!
We called in for Sunday lunch after a day visiting Cragside. The triple meat serving was excellent quality and filling. I would definitely recommend you pay a visit.
Food is very good, Sunday lunch was first class!
Stayed for a night at the Granby Inn and had Dinner there. The accommodation was clean and comfy bed. We are told that they are intent on updating the accommodation areas in the forthcoming months, but with the age of the building it obviously takes time. The staff were lovely and welcoming, the food was lovely and the prices are competitive with other pubs in the area.
Wonderful kind take away service. Food arrives piping hot with a smile> Sunday lunch especially lamb very good. Prawns very good too. Lovely kind people who continue to serve within Coid-19 restrictions. A God send at this time.
Went for a Sunday roast which was really reasonably priced, and absolutely lovely! Friendly staff and nice village setting, only thing that could improve is being allowed in the main area with your dog, we were sat away from everyone on our own out the back.
Chips were reheated and denied by staff. Adequate food. Filthy, smelly carpets on the entrance must be replaced. Rooms were adequate. Reasonable value.
The food was good but was sat in the bar which was devoid of any atmosphere whilst other guests were seated in the restaurant, lounge area. We noted that other guests who arrived after us were taken straight through and when we asked why? We were told that their were more seats available and we could go through but at which time we were part of our way through the meal. We were not given a choice of where we would like to sit and felt quite unwelcome.
My wife and I have been frequent visitors for meals for 30 years and today was the first time we found the standard low enough to say we won’t be visiting again. What a shame
We ate here after a walk and they advised us on the phone that they had gluten free options. When we arrived, they did not have a GF menu or any options marked as GF (first red flag). When we ordered, the server did not know in detail what was gluten free and had to check (second red flag). They have things on their menu like Mac and cheese (which turn out to be Mac and cheese BALLS) and chicken wings (which are BREADED but this is not outlined) (I am not claiming the Mac and cheese balls to be gluten free, I am just outlining that the fact they were balls was not made clear on the menu). As someone who is coeliac, their food made me very sick (it was the chicken wings, which they swore we're gluten free and even went back to check they were) and it caused me the worst glutening in a while - which led me to the belief that they were either fried in the same oil at the same time as gluten items, or had physical gluten in. I have never been glutened as badly from contamination or sauce so it must have been actual gluten. Expensive for what it was and took us 2 and a half hours to finish our meals because of the length of time it took them to bring our food and the time between courses - despite the pub not seeming very busy. I wouldn't really recommend this place - and I certainly would not for dietary requirements, especially if you're coeliac.
