Really great omasake experience. Super fresh sushi pieces. chef Jeffrey is really knowledge to every pieces and welcome you with warm hospitality. the waiters are really polite and attention to detail. always notice the our needs befe we even have to ask. would recommend!!! and will be back in the future.
Sushi Lin is an excellent Omakase! Unique and high quality. Chef Jerry provided great service.
This was the best omakase experience I’ve had. We opted for the 12-course menu, and every dish was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We even ordered a few extra favorites: - Tuna with truffle - Fatty toro tuna + uni + caviar + gold flakes (my favorite) - Scallop We paired it with cloudy nigori sake. The cozy setting made it feel intimate and exclusive. Service was fantastic—the chef was warm, welcoming, and happy to chat. Highly recommend this spot for top-quality omakase at a great value. Can’t wait to return!
From the moment I sat down at the sushi bar, I knew that this was going to be a unique dining experience. The chef greeted me warmly and asked if I had any dietary restrictions or preferences. We had the 17-course option. Lin was our chef of the day. Each course was expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The fish and other ingredients are very fresh. Lin explained all the dishes as he served it, providing insight into the ingredients, flavor and technique used in its preparation. One of my favorite course was the salmon sushi topped with tomato. The melt in your mouth and the flavor of it incorporate very well with the salmon. The service throughout the courses are outstanding! Overall, it’s one of the best dining experience I have ever had.
Overall very good experience. You taste the freshness in every piece, and there is great creativity in a couple of the pieces as well. The king salmon with tomato on top was an interesting idea and very delicious. The service is friendly, and is definitely on the faster end as they do more seatings, but for the number of nigiris you get with the price, there is great value. The quality of food here does not lose to some of the Michelin-started sushi places in the city. Will be back.
This was an amazing sushi experience. Is it hard to find great affordable omokase in the city. The atmosphere of the restaurant made you feel so relax. The sushi chef Lin was nice and explained to us the different kinds of fish. Came with my friend and we were both pleasantly enjoyed all the food. A must for any sushi lover who are looking for great sushi experience and great quality fish. We will try the 17 course omakese next time:)
Absolutely amazing experience at Sushi Lin. The sushi were outstanding, the atmosphere warm and cozy, and the personal touch from the chef was so unexpected and special. A favorite in the city and I’ll definitely be back!
Came here to celebrate my birthday and it was such a nice experience. We had the 17 course omakase and the sushi fish was super fresh and well paired with interesting flavors. Our favorite was the one with tomato (that looked like bacon)! It was also super nice to talk to the chefs — they were great and recommended some other omakase spots around the globe. Thank you Jerry and Jeffrey!
I agree with the great reviews here. I think that there are a lot of good sushi restaurants that have great fish and excellent materials. This one stood out because of the interesting combination of flavors that they used on each individual piece. We got the 12 piece Omakase. Some of our favorites were the Hamachi with Shishido on top, the the fatty tuna, they had a piece of sushi with a fried tomato on top that was interesting, and the scallop had zest on top which added a complexity that I enjoyed.
Such a great experience! This was genuinely some of the best sushi I have ever eaten. The presentation was absolutely beautiful. Fresh fish, beautiful combination of flavors and very nice service. I would definitely recommend this spot to others!!
Arrived on a Thursday evening for a birthday dinner. The service from the moment you enter to the second you leave was well thought out. The pieces that stood out to me the most were the uni, the toast with the caviar and tuna and the sweet shrimp. The chefs create a unique perspective of traditional omakase that adds their own twist and flavor to each bite sized sushi they put in front of you. It’s like sitting in the front row of NYFW, it keeps you on your toes! The pieces were on the smaller side, more rice or fish would both be appreciated. The service was very quick, but the chefs were able to execute efficiently.
I had nothing short of a phenomenal experience at Sushi Lin Soho. The mouthwatering ensemble of inspired dishes would leave you wondering which piece “exactly” is your favorite. High-quality sashimi and sea urchin, great vibe and affordable. Highly recommend!
Great entry level omakase experience. The place wasn't busy when we went. I reckon you usually don't have to fight to get a spot there. Not super filling if you are a male but you're fine if you grab a boba and snack after. Great service though! Chefs and staff were very friendly.
The sushi was very high quality! A very well priced 17 course omakase at $125. The most notable pieces were the sweet shrimp with lemon zest and the salmon with torched salted tomato. The latter was a perfect fusion of flavor and texture that is sure to impress even the most avid omakase customers. The service was also great. They were very patient with us. They mentioned they had reservations at 7 and needed the space by then, but welcomed us as walk ins at 5:45 and did not make us feel rushed when we all arrived started an omakase around 6 pm.
Excellent omakase spot! Great value for what you’re getting. We got the 17 course omakase with a bottle of sake and everything was great. Chef was friendly and even asked for mine and my wife’s tolerance for wasabi (in case we wanted less). Loved our experience.
Wowowow! Jeffrey was absolutely amazing. The service was incredible and the food was to die for 🥹♥️ they do not play when it comes to high quality and amazing dishes here. Will be back!
Had an absolutely lovely omakase experience here. Every bite was an incredible dive in Japanese fine dining. The sushi was fresh and innovative. It ranged from melt in your mouth goodness to refreshing and airy. The sake was top knotch and the service excellent. Really great intimate time. Would come again. Highly recommend!
Didn’t try the food just drinks, but very nice staff. Appreciate y’all!
Nice memory from NYC, a rainy afternoon in a warm bar with excellent music, great beers and affordable prices. We re looking forward to come again! Xoxo from Paris♥️🙏
Review of Soho Bar – ★★★★★ Soho Room NY is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm smiles and outstanding hospitality. The staff here truly go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels comfortable and well taken care of. Service was impeccable—attentive without being overbearing, and every request was met with enthusiasm and efficiency. The atmosphere is simply fantastic. With stylish décor, great lighting, and just the right level of music, Soho Bar creates the perfect setting for a fun night out. Whether you're looking for a cozy spot to unwind with friends or a lively environment to enjoy delicious food and drinks, this place delivers. The people are friendly, and the overall vibe is inviting, making it easy to relax and have a great time. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely exceptional! The Wings were crafted with care, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. From small bites to main courses, everything we ordered was fresh, delicious, and perfectly cooked. The LOLA MARGARITAS were equally impressive, expertly mixed and full of bold flavors. If you're looking for a place with top-notch service, a welcoming and energetic atmosphere, and outstanding food and drinks, Soho Bar is the place to be. I can't wait to visit again!
Stopped in for a few happy hour rounds and Lola greeted us with warm enthusiasm and a smile. Bear in mind she was manning the fort by herself and everyone was getting exceptional service! Definitely stop by to experience Lola's service she's awesome!
The bartender was the best, very in tuned to what people wanted, just before my last sip she was right there asking if I wanted another. Had the wings which were great, was on my last napkin and there she was without asking with napkins in hand, I believe her name was Lola, outstanding job, I will be going back
I started coming here about two months ago and the bartender lola is fantastic. She greeted me with kindness since the first time I arrived and her professionalism is excellent and the atmosphere is superb. A place to relax and feel at home. Customer Service is great
This is the perfect casual place to stop in for a drink. Their bartender Jim has been super fun and very attentive on every occasion we’ve been in. Last summer when I brought friends in town for Pride weekend, we grabbed drinks and all of my friends thought he was so funny, and he took good care of us as always. Highly recommend Soho Room when Jim is there!
Busy Sunday in the rest of SOHO and village and Tribeca, it was great to come across a place that was welcoming and open for a seat at the bar. The bartender was so friendly and awesome.
It's a nice and cozy place. The bartender was amazing. If you are going for a beer, there will be very limited choice. The food is ok. I order onion soup. It was somewhat 'watery', and no toast was offered. Don't expect much, just bar food. What i didn't really like is thet they didn't have soap in the bathroom 🤔 😕 and when I said so, I was recommended to go to the man loo to wash hands. No complaints. I did it, but it's not really a great option. And it's pricy. 2 beers, burger and a soup with tips was around 60 bucks.
Great corner in Soho. When you are on the look for a refreshing pint or cocktail this is a good spot to kickstart your night. Really good selection of draft and bottle beers a good view of the street and extremely close to the E train and 6 Avenue corridor. Is one of those little gems that Soho has to offer. Shoot out the the bartenders that take care of the place. Are promptly and well curated on they trade.
An okay-omakase experience for the price. Most of the pieces’ flavors are overshadowed by the sauce and I don’t really taste the fish themselves. The tomato, scallion and garlic in several pieces added interesting notes. They charge a processing fee for credit card transactions, so be prepared.
The set was just mediocre. I have had much better omakase in the city at the same price point. The torched tomato course was the most special of them all. Decent experience but I was not overwhelmed by it. I likely will not return again.
We went during happy hour on a Thursday night. Happy hour ended at 6 pm. Their drinks for HH were $6, which is not bad at all. Their food portions are big, so come prepared, especially for their sliders. It's not tiny.
food: we got the 12 course omakase. our favorite was their signature piece (salmon tomato), so we ordered extra; but a different chef made it, and it wasn't as good (it was falling apart and there was a little bit of rice). this was our 2nd time at an omakase, so we're not too experienced. idt omakases are for us though... it's just not filling enough, and we're not as appreciative of sushi as we should be. service: staff was attentive, always refilling our water. they were able to accommodate us when we arrived earlier than our reservation since there was space. they also gave us a free slice of cheesecake for my early bday celebration (it was a bit frozen though)
I'm not sure what's worse here, the service or the food. I think they both need work but I wouldn't come here again. I ordered wings and they tasted really old. They were dousted in bbq sauce to hide the taste of them possibly being cooked, frozen, and cooked again but it didn't work. They make you pay for your food before it comes out so when it came out, they never came back to check on us. I don't feel comfortable sending food back but I told the waitress about it a little while after and she was completely nasty about it telling me "why didn't you say something earlier?" instead of finding a solution. Then she snatched the plate and never came back. She was then overheard laughing and joking about it at the bar with her coworker. This was not a good experience. I hope it gets better.
My server Aidan was so rude and barley checked on my friend and I, when we got out check somehow 2 drinks and an appetizer was $70
To the white female bartender please find a new job so you can be pleasant. There is barely anyone at that bar but you seem to be in a rush and blame the customers when you didn’t hear the order. If you see 4 people and then suddenly see 6, how can you have all the orders at the same time? It’s almost as if everyone isn’t there to get all the orders. Please find a job that you like because you don’t deserve tips.
