Princi Italia - Plano

Some of the best authentic Italian food in Texas. The only things that didn’t go absolutely perfectly were a slight delay with one order and the noise level of the restaurant. Everything else was perfect. Presentation, attentive staff, knowledgeable and accommodating waiter, diverse and consistent flavors. Excellent through and through. The dish I can recommend most highly is the spaghetti bolognese, after that they are all spectacular and if you like lobster you should try it here. The pizza was a little under done for my preference (for a wood burning oven) but still cooked through nicely, just no crisp bite at the edge. The prices are high but worth it for the main dishes both in quality and quantity. The salads are over priced. With these notes in mind I highly recommend trying it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

My wife and I had another elegant meal at Princi Plano. The food is nicely elevated and exquisitely prepared. The Cobb Salad is large so bring your appetite. My wife says their Chicken Piccata is the best of the ten or so versions she's had at other Dallas Italian restaurants. I found the grilled salmon more perfectly cooked than the four other Italian restaurants where I regularly dine. The desserts are a dynamite way to cap off a great meal. We had the Warm Apple Crostata this time and the Blueberry NY Style Cheesecake last time. Both are decadent and fabulous! We had Giovanni as our server the last two times (we've been going to Princi since 2019) and he makes the meal a fun experience. He possesses an old-world charm and hospitality.

Absolutely delightful service and food. We came in a large party and ordered everything from pizza to salmon to meatballs and calamari as appetizers and everything was amazing. Great flavors and unique side options. Our waitress Melinda was awesome and even befriended my four year old niece. Can't wait to visit again!

Gerardo made our dining experience at Princi Italia absolutely exceptional. From the moment we sat down, he was attentive and genuinely welcoming. He made us feel truly taken care of without ever being intrusive. Service like this elevates the entire meal. We will absolutely be back and will ask for Gerardo every time.

We went with two other couples to Princi Italia for New Year's Eve dinner. I had eaten food from there many times as we order from the restaurant on Royal on a regular basis. But I believe this was the first time I had actually sat at a restaurant - it won't be the last. That's because while the food was fine, the highlight of the evening was our waitress, Danielle. She quite literally made our evening, and is the reason I look forward to coming back to Princi Italia in Plano in the future. I don't know if it was because of the evening, or because the restaurant was not particularly full, but at times she almost felt like a (VERY welcome) seventh person at the table. We spent the rest of the evening talking about how much fun she made our experience, and I have spoken the last few days about how service can really enhance a dining experience, with Danielle as my example. As for the food, as I indicated, we generally order from Prinici Italia about once a month or so, and I always get the same thing - the mushroom pizza. It is excellent. However, I changed things up on New Years and got the Chicken Parm Pizza; an excellent choice. The pizza itself was done to my request (well done), and the chicken parm on the pizza was great, with that crisp edge to the chicken slices that I look for in a chicken parm. Our first time here! Atmosphere and staff were very welcoming. The food was delicious. We had a hiccup with my son's pizza being burnt however, the staff brought a new one pretty quickly.

Had a nice meal on Christmas Eve. They were right on time with our reservation. Service was nice and the cocktails and food was yummy! Only thing is pretty small portions considering the prices. No bread or salad/soup included.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but I honestly think I’m being a bit generous giving it an overall three stars. The service and atmosphere were fine. No complaints, but nothing special. The prices were high, but that was to be expected as my husband and I wanted to go to a nice restaurant for Valentine’s Day. The problem was, it was expensive for food that just wasn’t good. Extremely bland. It’s hard to mess up a Caesar salad and somehow they still did. A few strips of romaine hearts covered in dressing with some parm sprinkled on top. Definitely not worth $13. We hoped it wasn’t going to be telling of our main courses, but they were unfortunately flavorless as well. They looked pretty, but for a $36 entree the portions were small, which again would’ve been fine if it had just been tasty. I took mine home and added my own sauce and seasonings, much better.

We got the 3 cheese flatbread which was the only reason this is a 2 star review. It was amazing! The carbonara had frozen peas which made it awful and the rigatoni was so bland and one of the worst ones I’ve ever had. It was supposed to be spicy but wasn’t spicy at all and barely had any sauce. It had no flavour whatsoever. The food looked really good but tasted really underwhelming. We paid 88 dollars for 3 pastas and a flatbread and honestly not worth it at all. The service and atmosphere were decent but I would not come back.

BLAND. 75% of what we got had no flavor. Appetizer was the bruschetta, the cheese was good, the toast was actually decent but the tomatoes had no flavor, just mushy bursts of slime. Did have olive oil but had no coarse salt to complement, no balsamic drizzled or offered. I ordered the orecchiette so so so basic and bland I’m super happy with simple food and simple flavors but this was poorly executed in highlighting flavor. Ever heard of salting the pasta water?! Boyfriend got the salmon with risotto, the salmon was cooked well actually but again lacked any seasoning. Risotto was the only exception to the meal; very flavorful, peas pretty and bright green, al dente so cooked properly. All in we were $80 in for a lunch. On top of the food being blah service was reflective. When we walked in we waited a while to be seated, no urgency to get us seated, dirty tables unattended to, had to ask for a refill with obviously empty glasses. Overall do not recommend; grab some pasta over at Eatzi and call it a day. Oh yeah, dirty water glasses.
