Opinions de Anchor & Tree Coffee Roasting Sacramento
Anchor & Tree Coffee House at 16th and N in Sacramento is truly something special. The coffee is beautifully roasted with a nutty depth and just the right amount of flavor depending on what you order. You can immediately tell they don't rely on excessive sweetness to mask mediocre beans, the quality of the coffee stands on its own. I ordered the hot masala chai with espresso and an iced pistachio latte, and both were outstanding. Balanced, flavorful, and thoughtfully crafted, nothing overpowering, just really good coffee done right. What made this stop unforgettable, though, was the service. Lexi was an absolute gem. Her patience, kindness, and genuine customer care were top-notch. She answered all of my questions thoughtfully and was warm and conversational while making the drinks, which really shows her skill and confidence. For me, the heart of any coffee shop is service with a smile and Lexi delivered service with heart and soul. I'm so glad I stopped by on my way back to San Diego, and this will absolutely be a must-visit spot every time I'm back in Sacramento. Highly recommend!
Anchor Tree is unique and you won’t find something else like this in Sacramento if not your own home. If you want genuinely delicious coffee, straight up - this is the spot. Their beans make a solid cup of quality coffee and for a gift that shows you care. Unique drink menu if you want something different, kind service that answered all of our questions, and the best black coffee we’ve had in the Sac area as we visited twice during our holiday stay. Will definitely be coming back! 🤎
Very cozy coffee shop in mid town . Parking was easy on a Tuesday morning. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The vibe is good. I got a cappuccino I believe, or one of their nice drinks. It was good. Coffee flavor was nice and smooth. They roast their own beans! And the machines are on display.
🌿 Anchor & Tree Coffee Roasting Co – Sacramento, CA ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a lovely hidden gem in Sacramento! 🌟 We stopped by for coffee — our first time here — and immediately felt the calm and cozy vibe of the place. It’s peaceful and welcoming, a perfect spot to pause in the middle of the city buzz. One thing that really caught our attention was the large, unique coffee machine in the back. I’m not sure exactly what it does — maybe it roasts, cleans, or processes the beans — but it definitely adds a special charm and gives the place an authentic feel. There are big bags of coffee beans stacked nearby, which makes it feel like you’re inside a true roasting house. ☕ The coffee itself was delicious, rich and flavorful — you can really taste the quality. You can sit comfortably at one of the tables or lounge on the cozy sofa. A sweet bonus — there’s a cute little photo zone just to the right when you walk in. Two woven chairs, perfect for couples or friends to snap a pic together. 📸 Definitely recommend visiting this cafe — it’s got charm, character, and most importantly — good coffee. 😊☕ R E C O M M E N D 💯 (Лично мой)
Was lucky enough to try their coffee during a private event. Coffee was great, use of syrup was phenomenal as it gave the flavor but didn't make it too sweet. Immaculate vibes and Donovan was lovely.
I like this place. It's cozy, warm and staff is friendly. The mocha is smooth and coconutty. The ham and cheese croissant comes with a little cheese skirt and are tasty. I should try the bagels next time.
Anchor & Tree is a true gem of a coffee shop and roaster in Sacramento. Ryan was incredibly knowledgeable and walked me through their selection of specialty beans and roast profiles—his passion for coffee really shines through. I had the cold brew, and it was absolutely delicious: smooth, bold, and perfectly balanced. I also picked up a bag of their Ethiopia Acacia light roast—excited to brew it at home! What makes this spot even better is their commitment to quality and community. Everything is roasted in-house, and they proudly collaborate with over 40 local businesses. If you’re looking for top-tier coffee, locally sourced and served with good vibes, this is the place.
Lovely coffee shop with the sweetest owner. We got a chocolate chip cookie and the cinnamon vanilla mocha, both were great and feature some of their infused maple syrup and honey. The drinks also come in completely biodegradable cups, the only shop in Sacramento to do so. Donovan let us sample all of their roasts, which they roast in-house. They promote local Sacramento artists and sell their work in the shop, from deep sea photography to beautifully carved tables.
The blueberry co-fermented pour over was so delicious. They seem so careful about the coffee preparation-- Probably because they started as a roastery before opening the cafe. They serve Boichik bagels with a good amount of cream cheese. Salt & pepper flavor was great. Super friendly and helpful staff. Clean but warm atmosphere. And-- cannot forget to mention-- there are electric plugs along the bar facing thr front windows. Great place to work from. I'll be back to work on my laptop.
Found this cute little midtown gem where the roaster is robotic, but the coffee is full of personality (cheesy I know, just trying to make your day ; p ). When my boyfriend and I popped in, they were hosting what I think was a Coffee Connoisseur Club (or maybe just a really passionate group of caffeine addicts). Either way, I learned some fun coffee history—turns out beans didn’t just magically appear in our espresso machines. Who knew? Now, the star: the Dirty Vanilla Chai Latte. As a self-proclaimed dirty chai taste-tester (a job I take very seriously), I can confirm most versions taste like spicy dirt water with a side of regret. But this one? Perfect balance—sweet, spicy, and actually tastes like coffee instead of sadness. And the staff? Super friendly, made sure our orders were spot-on! Verdict: Whether you’re grabbing a quick cup or pretending to work on your laptop (we see you), this place is a must-stop. Just maybe don’t challenge the robot to a brewing contest.
The staff are soooo kind and friendly. You can tell they take pride in their workplace. I got the Hojicha Latte and my girlfriend got the Iced Mocha Latte. Both tastes amazing. They don't have straws (bc environment 💕) so their to-go cup has a straw like feature on it and it is 100% compostable. For food, we got a plain and a chocolate croissant which was originally served room temp but they warmed it up per request. We are them on the comfy couch (sorry about all the crumbs we left). Maybe it was late in the day, but the croissants were a bit dry. Tasted good still. Bathroom is clean as well and the entire place is relatively wheelchair accessible.
This coffee spot is a total neighborhood gem! The owner, Donovan, is a coffee magician who can roast magic. We recently booked private coffee roasting experience when my family was in town. Donovan was super knowledgeable and accommodating, showing us the subtle nuances that make a perfect cup of coffee. It's not just about great coffee here; it's about being part of supporting Sacramento’s creative community. The shop is adorned with local art and cool artisan crafts on every shelf. Whether you're swinging by for a quick coffee or hanging out with friends, i couldn’t think of a better spot. Can’t wait for it to fully open to the public – it's gonna be awesome! 👏
The rose chai is AMAZING and I don’t even normally like floral foods. I literally get sad when I finish my cup. And the cup design? Brilliant.
This is a coffee collective, which is a really cool community-focused concept. The vibe is excellent and friendly. This if definitely a must-go place for coffee enthusiasts. The owner of the collective recently took over the coffee bar portion and it’s been delicious, friendly, and just a little less pretentious.

Was in town for the weekend and decided to stop by this gem of a coffee spot. From the care and friendliness of the baristas to the passion they put into making our coffees was amazing. I loved all the different unique notes of coffee in their selection and the coffee was very worth it. They rotate their coffee selection every few weeks but I got their galactic coffee and my partner got their blackberry cobbler coffee and both were delicious. The grass fed butter in the galactic coffee brought out a lot of the other subtle sweet notes and flavors of the coffee. Overall, great place and you should definitely grab a coffee then walk around capital park.
Super fun and friendly atmosphere. I love all the small local businesses available in their shop in addition to lots of exciting specialty drinks on the menu .

Best coffee ever! The Colombian Bourbon Sidra is absolutely mouthwatering. It leaves such a lingering, delicious flavor that you’ll immediately want another cup. The staff is also incredibly friendly and welcoming. 100% recommend!
I’ve had a lot of decaf at other roasters but they have the best columbian ceiba decaf it’s sooo fruity and good. The regular ones i’ve had so far are all so good too. Better than temple imo. And so far the people are super nice
We stopped by during our visit to Sacramento and had a wonderful experience! The staff is super friendly and helpful and the shop itself has such a good vibe! There are tons of plants and it has a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The coffee was amazing as well! We'll definitely stop by again next time we're in the area!
Came here to get a quick coffee for a walk around the park. Coffee was good, I got a spicy mocha, and the cup they put it in was cool too, it was all paper and folded in on itself, so that they didn’t have to use a plastic lid. Very green of them. Prices are okay, about what you’d expect for coffee these days. I’d definitely go back!

Today I found myself at Anchor & Tree (AT), a lovely neighborhood coffee roaster in midtown Sacramento. AT is what you might expect buying local, friendly and welcoming with a buzz of activity. I ordered my usual, a cappuccino, a bit dry, in a mug. If nothing else, I’m consistent. However, you can’t help but notice the very modern looking roaster towards the back of AT. As I wanted to experience the roasting and pull without compromise, I ordered a shot of espresso and an almond croissant to round things out. Immediately upon tasting the espresso I noticed AT’s roast was unique to any other roast I’ve sampled. I understood it to be a light roast that packed a punch. While I generally prefer a dark roast, my traveling companion found the espresso quite delicious. The cappuccino carries this flavor forward very well, and the barista was very good about leaning on the dry side. Although the craft required additional practice, I could see she genuinely wanted to deliver a well made cappuccino. What I found very interesting, it appears that AT can roast smaller batches, perhaps more crafted to a buyers liking. Once ordered and ready, AT had an automated kiosks for order pick up. I’ve traveled coffee shops around the globe and seeing this was a first for me. Should you find yourself in Sacramento, I encourage you to stop by Anchor & Tree. Sit down and enjoy the atmosphere and the coffee. Enjoy
Cool place with much wood, coffee beans and amazing drinks. They have regular coffee drinks as well as crafted drinks. Not much food , some oatmeal and bagels there. Price per drink is higher than average. But it’s worth it.
