Love this place. Even though it is a bit run down it is kept up and the bar tenders are awesome. Also most of the crowd thats there just wanna chill and have a good time, you dont see people acting immature or trying to start fights. Its really nice not having to worry over drama here. Even proud to say the bathrooms are nice for what most would consider a hole in the wall. The womens stalls have locks that work which is a huge plus. The music they play is always good, if you like rock and the crowd in entertaining when there is a game on. Wish I lived closer, or wished this place was on my side of town, I would so go more often then I do.

This place is the most chillest place to go.The bartenders are all so cool and down to earth. This the best place to go if you just wanna kick back with some friends n throw back some big ass mugs if beer and sing all night to some good ol rock n roll.

Random find while walking around SA. If you like punk rock, or rock, or a little grunge, you MUST go here. I wish this spot was in Phoenix where I live, I'd go all the time. Great selection on the jukebox, killer merch selection and they do live shows. I saw people wearing Circle Jerks and DRI gear and knew it was going to be good.

First off, downstairs bar is what a Rock bar should be like. Friendly staff. Awesome jukebox. Great drink prices. Cool place to hangout with friends. All around great experience and well established. We randomly came across bonds as we were walking the river walk last night. It was awesome to stumble upon a bar that played rock and metal and wasn't like all the clubs on the riverwalk. We were able to see a live show there as well the price was good. The bartenders were nice and courteous. Definitely recommend.

Met the owner by coincidence while enjoying the band & he was a really low key down to earth kinda guy, very hospitable & made us feel welcome. I love heading here for live music. The frozen margaritas are off the hook. The downstairs bar is the perfect hangout when you need to take a break from the music. Pool tables, and nice location bedside the river walk.

One of the best rock bars in San Antonio! The prices are good, great happy hour specials. The bar staff is fast and the owners of this establishment always make you feel welcomed. Stumbled in while visiting from out of town with a group of friends, met some great people at the free pool tables and the bartender Livona (?) was the best. Sunday happy hour deal can’t be beat and goes til 10

The best heavy metal bar in town. This is a haven for showing off rock and roll talent. When you come to BOND'S you come to a kingdom of heavy metal!!! The atmosphere is a place where you get lost in it all!!! The staff is cool the selection is great. The owners especially are very inviting!!!

It's like the White Rabbit reincarnated itself, gained a floor and moved to the Riverwalk. Excellent staff. Great acoustics for a life sound and a super fun, walk right up to the stage crowd. Learn To Swim was AMAZING! That is the lead singer Isiah as the Mad Hatter and the fascinating John Zambrano, San Antonio native and local GQ and Event Glitter.

Happy hour on point. Every day till 10pm, $2 dom. pints $2.5 imp. pints $2 rolling rock $1 tooters (tube shot w/ 4 liquors) $1.5 wine. I would definitely recommend this place for all my rock metal heads. Come on over and enjoy a pint. Music on point and jukebox is available as well. Pool tables and darts in the house. Don't forget to get a t-shirt as well, for souvenir.

Love my local get down bar!

This was my first time here. The bartenders were friendly at upstairs and downstairs bar. The rock music was great and the live bands were great too. This will definitely be our new hang out.

We drove 5 hours to see the all female rock band PLUSH !! The opening acts were good. The sound is pretty good for a small-ish venue. The stage lighting is decent and provides a good feel for a concert experience. We didn't eat anything, .. so no reviews on that, .. The house staff is very friendly and professional. They informed us about where to go and checked I.D's .. We brought our under-age neice with us to enjoy one of her favorite bands. The staff had no problem with her ..the marked both of her hands CLEARLY to show she was not old enough to drink. I appreciate that level of professional staff, to make sure she could attend,.. but not get served alcohol. Overall feel of Bonds Rock Bar was it's kinda old and dark .. but it has a great vibe!!

I just found out about the upcoming closing of Bond’s Rock Bar. I wanted to share my experience. I’m from AZ and my fiancé is from NM. We traveled to SATX for a metal festival in the summer this year and we seen Bond’s was hosting a pre-party for the festival. Being unfamiliar with the area we still took the chance to check out the scene. We freaking loved it man. It was nice to actually be in a place that plays our type of music. Everyone was so nice as well. Felt as if we belonged even though we’re outsiders. Our bartender was the best. I wish I got her name but I hope her and all the other staff find a good place to be after the closure. Definitely hope someway somehow there can be a revival of Bond’s because best believe we will come back in the future if there is one!

We go see a local band Lazarus when ever they get a chance to play. Bonds atmosphere and people there have always been great. We have never had a bad experience since we started going to shows. I would definitely recommend a stop and check out some of the talent that comes out to just have a good time. You might find a band you like, I know we did.

My son and I went to a show upstairs at this place. And it was such a great experience. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to come here. The staff was nice. The venue looks awesome. And the bartenders were actually really nice. I can’t think of a time where I actually liked a bartender. (They are usually stuck up at venues) Would definitely recommend this place. And can’t wait to have a reason to go back again.

Went to see a show with some tribute bands, and it was great. The bar itself has two floors, with the bands playing on top. The bottom floor has some pool tables and a popcorn machine. I was pretty drunk so that's all I remember about the bottom floor. There is also a bar on the top floor, and I happened to arrive during happy hour with $2 pints of three different beers. Seating space is limited, but I didn't care since I was there to rock out. I will definitely be going back again soon!

"Ratchet Dolls" performed exceedingly exceptional, great showmanship & charisma. These guys are definitely worth seeing again & again...i may just take a trip to Brownsville to see them play.

Great happy hour specials. Can get pretty loud if you aren't a big fan of rock but it's fun after work. Free popcorn to snack on with your drinks is a plus!

The culmination of atmosphere, prices and music create a great experience. Definitely worth a stop to start the night with a big mug of your favorite draft beer.

Surprised how this place was (even on off days) the past few times I'd been around--very friendly, but fewer people than usual. Friendly is worth saying again--felt relaxed and enjoyed a few games of pool the last time I don't feel its fair to only rate this very good--especially seeing some of the other reviews, so I've atleast changed service to excellent

This is an AMAZING dive bar. The drink prices are so flippin amazing i don't even want to share them for fear of a mobbing. The bartenders are funny and outgoing and did i mention the drinks are cheap...yeah, they are. Luckily my hotel was right across the street. :) Great people watching too. No need to dress up :)

This is a good bar with great prices. If you like hard rock you'd love this bar. The staff is always nice. I call it the land of misfits because it draws a very diverse crowd.

Had a good time. Walls are filled with very koo original 90's posters of Rockstars, and random koo "real colored ads to rock concerts that have past. There wasnt really people bcuz it was early. So got to play everything The Pool Table (2 tables), The Electronic Dart board (2Boards) wth scoar keeping- not oldschool wooden board. And got full controll of jukebox (could use more & newer rock albums) but enuff options to last a hand full of hours. Drank liquor not beer- prices were not over priced but not cheapest either, so decent..

I didn't really used to like this place but more recently I've hung out and played pool there. I had a pretty good time .The female that i was with ended up getting cut off but i didn't mind. I'm actually surprised it didn't happen sooner the way she was acting. Unfortunately she's just an unstable person with no social edicate it didn't have too much to do with the alcohol . although i am sure that it didn't help much . I ran into some old friends and tried my best to tune her out and ended up having a really good time . And then at some point we even ordered pizza from Pizza Classics one of my favorites and they delivered there to the bar.

It's a Hard Rock Bar, Great Service, Awesome Bartenders! There is popcorn, a jukebox, pool tables and an upstairs to enjoy live music. It's a total dive but the concrete bar with the paintings is definitely worth a look at. Like I said, Dive Bar, but worth the stop in for a beer, or two, or three.........

This place is a really cool bar & venue, I wish they booked more thrash/death/black metal bands, punk bands and underground rock bands, they seem to book a lot of cover bands and tio bands haha. It would be cool if they had Metal DJ nights too, a lot of the music in the bar is just 99.5 kiss radio rock. Other bars in SA have metal/rock DJs, but not the most metal bar in SA.

Bond's Rock Bar is okay, drinks at a good price & the atmosphere is definitely Hard Rock, close to Metal. Don't think they plan any live music, but will check.

Its not bad, its gotten better thought the years the stage got bigger and the sound men got a lil better they still need alot of work though beer prices aint too bad the only down side is the parking, there isnt any and when they have shows its hard to find parking close by if your not there early

I will give it a fair review as I've been here a few times. Most of the time I come here for the music, or you can find me playing pool with my guy friends every month or so. I stay away from the bar. On two seperate occasions I've been here and wanted to spend a fair amount of money. I've spoken to the owner about her bartenders but of course, I'm not the owner myself. And she's especially friendly. Be prepared to have a disagreement with your bartender. If in fact they want to serve you. I've tried to order drinks twice, and instead I prefer to send a friend to the bar. There is a short and heavier bartending woman that has twice created an unpleasant experience. One night I was here and had a group of friends in from Austin, I was charged for an extra round of drinks we never received. On another night, I ordered shots and they were delivered minutes later... When me and my friends asked where the shots were, the bartender pointed to several glasses two barstools over. She then said,"I told you they were right there honey." I asked,"are you sure you didn't drop those off just now and maybe I didn't turn around for you to say anything?" She said,"no I looked right at you and said these are your drinks." I looked at the owner and said this doesn't sound right... I turned around and said just close my tab. She responded,"well I need to know who you are to do that. What's the name on the tab?" At that point all hell broke loose. I told her,"after two drinks and ordering one round of shots, you think I'm lost here? You don't drop an entire bar worth of shots behind someone you don't even know which tab you're charging! Now give me my id and my card back. " When she handed it to me, the owner apologized to me, and would you look at that... She handed me an Express Visa with a picture of another man on it with my Driver's License. Literally one of those cards that serves as ID... How about that? After the owner saw what happened. She told the bartender to void my charge. I came home, charged. With tip...

I went on a Saturday around 9pm. It was pretty busy at the time. They have bands playing upstairs some nights. I believe you have to buy tickets for but I’m not sure. They check IDs at the door just FYI. It was pretty packed at the bar area. At the times I think the registers were down. It took us quiet awhile to flag someone down to order drinks. The ambiance is pretty chill. They have limited tables with chairs to sit beside the bar area. They have 4 pool tables 2 on each side. The drinks were reasonably priced. I order a Jager bomb, but it tasted like I just got a big shot of Jäegermeister (My Fav) which I had to then sip lol. Overall I would say if your an avid rock n roller lol 😂 this spot would be for you. Oh and the owner is a nice, friendly guy 👍.

Thieves! This place cost me $111 overdraft in my bank account. All because someone decided to retroactively tip themselves $1 without my consent, which started the chain reaction in my account. I'm pretty sure I know which bar tender did it too. She's short, chubby, Hispanic and her personality is always hot or cold like she's too good or something.

They are full of trash. I paid for a three band view pass and only witnessed one band. Then I went and played pool with other patrons. Then I go to get booze upstairs and they said they cannot serve me talk to the guy downstairs. Then I go downstairs and the main guy acts like someone else gave the command. I told that fool I'm putting it on google. You cut people off for allegedly loosing a little cognitive function? What a joke but the other patrons were cool

Went to see my friend's band play on a Saturday night was charged $6.50 all night long for my drinks. I was downtown walking around my friends about 2 weeks later decided to stop in on a Monday afternoon for drinks and my jaw nearly dropped when they told me that it was $14 per drink can't say I will ever be back to this place I hope the bartender pocket a good chunk the money off of my friends and I because we will never return

I'm very disappointed. I have stopped by Bonds every time I'm in SA for the past 10+ years. They literally only have 3 brands of whiskey. I ordered a jack on the rocks and a crown on the rocks but was clearly given well whiskey. Bartender tried to convince me he poured me what I ordered. Then, overcharged me for both. I won't be supporting their new location of they relocate.
