11/25 update - SUCH A GOOD FREAKING SANDWICH! Drove down from Poway just to visit and did not disappoint This place makes an AMAZING sandwich! Wife and I were going to the comedy show and wanted a bite beforehand. Stumbled across this spot and 100% happy that we did. Sandwiches are huge, loaded with fillings, and the “whole” sandwich was enough food for us both to take the other half home for dinner the next evening; hell of a deal for two meals of fresh food in my opinion. Will be back for sure. We were sitting there eating while simultaneously looking to see if they delivered to our house up north - it’s that kinda good.

WOW!! I was told this place was the best sandwich place in San Diego hands down, so I had to try it and they exceeded my expectations! The bread, the size everything! Must try!

I love this place! It has great veggie options they allow customization and the minicookies are super good! My favourite sandwich is the Whale's Veg! ❤️ You can also tell produce is fresh and they prepare everything on spot!

My bf and I got the rubicon special and the super Mario combo with the tomato soup and the mushroom bisque and did halfsies. The portions were huge and delicious. The staff was very kind with helping me decide on a bread (there are about 5 options) and even threw in a complimentary bag of homemade chips. The beverage options are yummy (craft lemonades and ice teas in addition to Stubborn sodas) and the little cookies that come with the sandwiches are soft and taste homemade too. All in all we had a great meal and will definitely make this our new sandwich spot!

The ingredients they use here taste very fresh, you can taste the freshness of the avocado in the salads and sandwiches. Very quick service, and you get a free cookie with your sandwich so that was very nice too! Would definitely reccomend going here, will visit again. The burgers look incredible on the upstairs part, will absolutely get next time. 10/10.

Came to this Rubicon Deli twice so far, both times around 7 p.m., and each visit has been amazing. Even though it’s close to closing time, the staff always provides exceptional customer service they’re genuinely kind, friendly, and attentive. The atmosphere still feels welcoming and never rushed. And the sandwiches are bomb!! Very fresh, flavorful, and made with care. It’s definitely one of my new favorite spots for a great meal and great service.

1st time here, ordered the rich boy with chipotle chicken and super mario, they’re DELICIOUS 🤤 the size of the sandwich is pretty big and ordered the “half” definitely worth it and definitely coming back!

Can’t think of a more premium sandwich in San Diego! Been coming here for years and well worth the price. Ingredients are all high-quality and the full size sandwich is worth its weight and gold. I am a fan of the Dutch Crunch bread because of the crunchy texture it adds (features in photo, alongside the stallion and Rubicon Special. You also get a cookie with your sandwich! Both indoor and outdoor seating.

BEST SANDWICH SHOP! I’ve been to lots of restaurants in SD, LA, OC, Vegas and more and this is BY FAR my favorite. THE BREAD IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! They make it here and it’s so fresh and delicious. Today I got the Garlic Cheese bread for a Giddy Up sandwich and it’s SO GOOD! Also make sure to try the new mushroom & brie soup, it’s so tasty! Oh and you get a free cookie with your sandwich! So great 10/10 👏👏👏

Their Sandwiches are the best in San Diego... Everything about it taste so fresh. Pickles are amazing, mini cookies are definitely incredible and the tomato bisque have a great flavor

Workers were very nice and friendly! This sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had in my life. I’d buy this a thousand times over. The bread was my favorite part and it is so flavorful. Sandwich pictured is The Stallion on Pesto bread. We also had a Rich boy and it was just as good!

First time here today and customer service was great! Friendly and helpful. We got the Rich Boy, Super Mario, and All-Star! The Super Mario was my personal favorite! It had sooo much flavor and it was nice and warm! Can’t wait to try it again. Also loved the house chips and the delicious surprise chocolate chip to finish our delicious meal. Thank you guys for all of your hard work.

Great food all the time! I usually grab lunch from here and they never disappoint. I’ve tried their salads and sandwiches and they are always fresh and tasty. A little more protein on salads could be appreciated but I might Just be asking for too much haha. I recommended their super Mario sandwich or their borderline Cobb salad.

Found this place from an instagram post. Thought it looked interesting. I got the rubicon and it was good but needed something. I think that the sandwich could have used a garlic aioli or some red vinegar to give it that last kick. Overall sandwich was good / decent. Only comment I will leave in the review box is that the customer service department could use a pep talk. Young lady seems uninterested in smiling and a smile goes a long way. I understand if she has had a bad day.
