I found the food to be very good, fresh, and a good sized portion. I must say that the star of the show was our waiter by the name of Greg. He was an older gentleman and he was so incredibly nice, professional, and very very attentive. Me and my wife celebrated our anniversary last night and it was such a pleasure having Greg wait on our table…This man deserves a raise….My wife and daughter both ordered the salmon which they state was cooked to perfection and my angus ribeye was very flavorful and cooked the way I liked it…. Calamari appetizer was ample and delicious….. The only thing that would have made it a perfect experience is if the restaurant was 5-6 degrees warmer. It was quite cold inside and my wife had to put her jacket back on. Although my wife was there for the the first time yesterday Ive been there a total of 3 times and its always been cold inside…

We randomly came in to have a steak dinner it was nice to watch the sunset and the food was very good. The service was very nice too. We will come back to try different dishes.

Staff were friendly and attentive. The ambience was great. The food was amazing! My husband didn't like their mashed potato though. We booked a reservation online and they gave our requested seats by the window. My water glass had something on it so they immediately replaced it.

We had a wonderful experience celebrating a special dinner at the Dolphin Room at McCormick & Kuleto’s in San Francisco on April 25, 2025. The view was absolutely incredible! The room was nice and clean. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was very good. Unfortunately, we do not remember the names of the staff members who helped us that evening, April 25, but we are grateful for their excellent service and warm hospitality. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a special occasion with great service, food, and unforgettable views.

Appetizers were so delicious. I enjoyed the entire dinner immensely. The pasta wasn’t that exciting but the view of the sun setting on the Bay made the experience magical. And appreciated the beautiful service of Caesar!

The restaurant has such beautiful, serene views from your table. The staff was attentive. The food was fresh from the oysters, fish & clam chowder. The steak perfectly seared. I highly recommend eating here if you're at the Ghirardelli square.

Amazing dining experience. Steaks were perfect. Views of the bay were amazing. I loved the calamari because it was hot and crispy. Service was fast and friendly. Love to go back. No fountain drinks, but they had sparkling water and clean bathrooms. I got it with Dungeness crab on top and it really was worth it. It had a lot of crab.

I've come here with my family many times. Food is solid, nothing amazing, but everything is good. Service is usually attentive and professional, but depends on your server. Great view and ambience. Highly recommended for people visiting San Francisco and wanting to enjoy some good seafood by the bay.

McCormick & Kuleto’s is a classic San Francisco seafood and steakhouse located right on the waterfront, offering stunning views of the bay. The restaurant delivers a solid dining experience, with a diverse menu that features fresh seafood like clam chowder, crab, and shrimp, alongside perfectly cooked steaks and other hearty options. The ambiance is upscale yet comfortable, with large windows that allow diners to enjoy breathtaking views of the water and the Golden Gate Bridge. The service is generally attentive, and the staff is knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful recommendations. While it’s not the most innovative dining spot, McCormick & Kuleto’s provides consistently good food in a beautiful location. It’s a great choice for anyone looking for classic seafood and steak dishes with a view, especially for special occasions or a casual dinner out.

They should staff another bartender to help out - the bartender is great but handling way too many orders. Nice ambience and food. Would like to see more inventive cocktail options and more local beers.

I’ve been coming here for 25 years or more. The food has always been very good. Today we stopped at lunchtime really just to get off our feet and have a little something to eat. We both ordered the New England Clam Chowder and it was outstanding! Really, really good. We sat at the bar, enjoyed the great view, a glass of wine and the chowder. No wonder I keep coming back. You won’t be disappointed.

Great food, great service! Julia was an amazing server. Margaritas are a must have! If you are looking for gluten free options this is the place for you! Being able to eat chips is amazing! Even my husband non gluten loved this place. We ate here more than once during our stay in San Francisco! Great location and near cable cars!

Gorgeous Mexican food spot right on the water! Deserie the server is the sweetest ever. I totally recommend asking for her as your server, very knowledgeable and kind. Prices are relatively affordable, if you have a lot of people make a reservation:) Awesome service!

Had a delicious dinner here (fish tacos, and a burrito), and not sure why this place is not more crowded. Each fish taco had generous chunks of halibut, tasty sauce and cabbage. The burrito was enough for two people. Food is fresh, flavorful, and presented beautifully. Warm chips and several salsas, cold draft beers (local IPA and hazy). Barrio is a great alternative to the touristy Italian and fish/steak places in the Wharf area. I highly recommend.

My family and I ate at Barrio’s this past week. Hands down this was the BEST Mexican food we have had. The guacamole was amazing! The service was great as well. Next time we are in San Francisco we will definitely be eating here again.

Barrio at Ghirardelli Square is such a great spot if you're craving Mexican food with a view. The location is perfect right by the waterfront with ocean views that make your taco and margarita moment even better. I had a few tacos and a classic margarita and both were super flavorful and satisfying. The vibe is relaxed and fun and the outdoor seating really adds to the experience especially on a sunny day. Definitely a good stop when exploring the area.

My experience here was fantastic, largely thanks to Carlos, the amazing bartender! He's incredibly knowledgeable and mixed up the most delicious drinks I've ever tasted. Carlos also steered us toward an unforgettable meal—his recommendations for the steak plate, ceviche, and nachos were spot on. The food was delicious, the drinks were awesome, and the sunset view was unbelievably pretty. Highly recommend this spot!

Great Mexican food, service was amazing! We had a great conversation with our server throughout our dining. They had great variety of drinks and draft beers. The views of the bay, Alcatraz and the sunset are amazing in such a beautiful restaurant with huge panoramic glass wall. I ended up, not having to pay for my burrito. The reason was, I ordered a seafood burrito with extra Birria meat but I ended up getting only the meat. I would’ve payed for the original price but obviously don’t complain for it getting taken off. 🤝🏾❣️I always get reservations so no wait time.

We had an unforgettable experience at Barrio in San Francisco! The moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning view — the restaurant offers a breathtaking panorama of the bay and Alcatraz that’s hard to beat. It’s the perfect backdrop for a special night out or even a casual gathering with friends. The food was just as impressive. Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — a true celebration of Mexican cuisine. From the starters to the mains, each bite was packed with vibrant, authentic flavors. The drinks were also a highlight; the cocktails were creative and perfectly balanced, making them a great match for the meal. Barrio isn’t just about the view; it’s a full sensory experience that combines amazing food, drinks, and atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal in San Francisco!

We had a great meal here on our last night in San Francisco. We ordered the Barrio Ceviche, Nachos with birria and the Halibut Tacos to eat. We also got the Barrio Margarita, Paloma and the Tropical Spritz to drink. Everything was great. The service was fantastic. And the view was beautiful from our table by the window.

McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood & Steaks, located in Ghirardelli Square, offers a great Happy Hour in the Fisherman’s Wharf area. The restaurant has stunning views of San Francisco Bay, making it a wonderful dining place. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a well-designed bar where you can relax. The friendly bartenders enhance the experience. Happy Hour is from Monday to Friday, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and it is perfect for winding down after work. The Happy Hour menu features tasty options like the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl, which is full of fresh flavors, and Kuleto’s Cheeseburger, which is always juicy and satisfying. You should also try the Calamari "Fritto Misto" or the rich Black Truffle Fries as great snacks with your drinks. If you look at the regular menu, don’t miss the Anchor Steam Fish & Chips. It’s well-made and goes well with many drinks, making it a good choice for seafood lovers. When my friends and I visit, we start with a round of draft beer, usually enjoying the refreshing Fort Point KSA Kolsch Style Ale. We always order a big plate of crispy fries that are hard to resist. Depending on the night, we might stick with the Happy Hour menu or switch to the regular menu for a bigger meal. The beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay always impress us, and someone in our group usually comments on how lovely it is. In short, McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood & Steaks is not just a restaurant; it’s a place where you can enjoy delicious food and excellent service, all while taking in the fantastic views of one of the most beautiful cities. Whether you want a casual drink after work or a memorable meal, put this place on your list!

Celiacs beware: yummy but gut wrenching food. I could not get a straight story from the waitress or the chef. Illness was Swift and furious. Be very careful and insist that they separate, especially that they don't cook anything in the fryer. They seem A couple steps above clueless. It's a pity because the food was tasty. The service was okay. Maybe not as informed as it could have been but, friendly and helpful and good-natured. The views are spectacular and a cloudy Sunset always makes for views that look like something painted by a Dutch Master. Restroom had no toilet paper or paper towels and I had to leave a 90 something-year-old standing waiting while I ran to the bartender who couldn't care less and deflected me to the front desk which was down a level. I had to call down to her and ask her to please come up. The hostess was very kind and came running to try and find some paper products. At a place with these prices that should never be. They need to be more on top of their game. They were warm and friendly and welcoming, which we really appreciate it. But if you're going to invite someone over, you need to have the place ready. People with allergies need to be extremely careful. To pay all that money and to lose the meal right after is a complete waste. It is sad. They need to do a better job with kitchen staff. Education from the top down. Servers need far far better info about the allergy and that even when Foods just touch a person can get ill. Other five star restaurants, even four stars that are careful we have no problem with. It's just a matter of them being more aware and intentional. Parking was easy underneath.. this is a very difficult place for the elderly as it's multi-level and set on a steep hill. The nice solution is parking in the lot and taking the elevator to the front door of the restaurant. They do have a handicap half elevator inside the restaurant to make up for the distance between levels. It was a fun experience and very tasty. We wish the wait staff had been more honest about how big heavy and filling the desserts were because we ended up wishing we had split. So if you've had a full meal, just split something. The restaurant has two really nice private rooms which are great for board meetings, family anniversaries and birthdays, etc. The one on the lower level is brighter and cheerier with a view. Except for getting so ill on the food. I was wishing for a big family party to fill that beautiful room.

I should’ve done some research before coming here so I give them the benefit of the doubt. My group ended the day at Ghirardelli square after walking around the city for hours and we were all craving clam chowder in a bread bowl. We were too tired to walk anywhere else so we decided to just try it here, despite it being more expensive than the ones at the pier. We weren’t dressed very formally but we weren’t dressed poorly either but it still felt like somewhere we weren’t supposed to be. We were really disappointed when they told us the bread bowls were only for lunch time, along with a few other items that were only displayed on the menu outside. We knew it was a mistake to only come here for soup because of the slight pressure we felt to order more from our server, I understand why but, it made us a bit uncomfortable after we already declined. They were still very friendly and not rude at all, we could just tell it felt like we were wasting their time and seemed disappointed. The soup was still delicious, the clams were perfectly cooked. We ended up trying some oysters that were also great, they came with a flavored ice which was really unique. The room was nice and cozy with a decent view but this isn’t the spot I would recommend to just anybody. Also the music did not fit the fancy atmosphere at all.

J
Jess Fleming

Overall, I would say we had a pretty nice time. Our server just seemed less than thrilled to help us and was not that helpful on recommendations. Three out of the four dishes we ordered were very good. The view is spectacular, definitely worth going, maybe go for an appetizer or late dessert if you want to save a little money and see the view…

Gorgeous views, decent food. TL:DR The beautiful views are the best reason to visit this establishment. Definitely not an economical meal - and honestly the food was not as good as the price would indicate. Still worth a visit, but perhaps not more than one. Details: We ended up here on a weeknight during a work conference. The hostess was pleasant and accommodating, and even without reservations we were able to get a table for six with a window view. Our server was pleasant, but the service was very slow the entire night. My friend waited more than 10 minutes for a drink refill twice, and when we asked about splitting the checks, we were told it would be another 20 minutes if we wanted it that way. The food was good, but I couldn't classify any of it as unforgettable. I do recommend the salmon steak, and one of our table said the prawns were very good. Overall, it was worth the visit for the view alone, but if you are looking to spend $40-$50 a person, I would lean towards another establishment.

Overall the food was ok 🌯: juicy and flavourful 🌮: small but tasty nevertheless The “house chips” i.e. crips is the one to avoid😐it was waaaaay too salty and you can visibly see salt grains 😒 Bonus: you get a good view of the Alcatraz 😅

S Lundahl

We waited about 45 minutes for a table, but the great view made up for it. Ordered the chips and dip trinity, shrimp tacos, and birria tacos—everything tasted good. Service was friendly and attentive. Drinks were on the pricey side and light on alcohol, but overall it was an enjoyable experience.

I visited Barrio with my wife and daughter, and we had a great time enjoying several delicious dishes and excellent cocktails. The atmosphere is lively, and the place offers a beautiful view. However, it’s definitely not the most child-friendly spot — the menu doesn’t have good options for young kids, and the vibe is much more suited to adults. Still, it’s a great place for a night out or a casual drink with great food.

Chef Tony
Chef Tony

I've seen this place from another place I've eaten at and wanted to check it out. So I went for a late lunch. It's OK, definitely geared towards the tourist. There are way better Mexican restaurants down in the Mission area. It was busy, so it took a while to order. When my nachos came, it was missing the chicken, so it got sent back. I was not charged for the chicken. My pineapple Fresca tasted like it came out of a can. No I won't be going back.

D
Dahlia Nasrah

I would not recommend this place to be honest. As excited as I was to try it, despite the prior reviews, I was extremely disappointed in the service. We came here for my sisters birthday dinner in a party of 6, and it took us 35 minutes to have a waiter come greet us at our table and another 45 minutes to receive our drinks and get our appetizer order in. The food looked great but didn’t taste like anything special. The view is gorgeous, that’s one thing I will give them.

C
Cidney Sims

While the food here was delicious and usually is. The service is not what it was. Our server was wonderful, she did everything right. Of the 4 high-end restaurants we visited this trip, McCormick’s was the only one who refused to acknowledge we had checked in ahead of our reservation and were sitting in their bar. We had to go back to the hostess station to “get checked in” again. And they were not very busy. Empty tables in abundance. We won’t be back again with so many other options available in San Francisco.

Angie Henry
Angie Henry

The food was decent. Kind of overpriced in my opinion. The plate my nachos came on wasn’t great. Trying to eat them and stuff kept falling off the plate. We asked for fried plantains as an app but when we got our meal and asked about them, the waitress said “oh, I thought that was enough food for you all”. We got plantains because I do love them, but they weren’t as good as others I’ve had. The views were fantastic, though.

Lisa Watson
Lisa Watson

I’ll start off by saying that the location and the views are fabulous here. Our server was quite friendly and attentive however the food has mixed reviews. The kids quesadilla was the smallest portion I’ve ever seen. My 10-year-old granddaughter wanted two more orders as her appetite was not satiated. Chips & Salsa are not complimentary and cost $10. My son said his chicken burrito was tasty. I had shrimp tacos which were flavorful. The rice that came with some of our meals had a nice taste but was crunchy- either undercooked or scraped off the bottom of a pan. My biggest issue is the difference of ice in a soda versus a margarita. I loved the tamarind margarita yet finished it in 4 sips as the ice was filled to the brim. I’m sure this is a common practice in restaurants and bars as it is profitable for them, but when someone is paying good money for a drink, I think it should last longer than a few sips.

Corey Fronek
Corey Fronek

Went here for dinner. The view was nice and the decorations look good and bright, but the atmosphere inside is very loud and the tables are very close together. The chips and salsa were lame. Nothing like traditional salsa when you think of a Mexican restaurant. The yuca fritas tasted alright but the sauce had no flavor. In other words, don't come here for the appetizers. The main entrees are where the flavor is at. We got the Halibut tacos and the slaw was really good. My wife got the birria tacos and they were really good. The side rice and beans that you get with the entrees are not flavorful. If I was given the option to come back here, I wouldn't.

Raheel Shaharyar
Raheel Shaharyar

3.5* Good food. The price is a little bit high for Mexican food but it's priced aptly for the neighborhood and tourists. Stunning views, friendly staff. The shrimp taco was very good. I feel like the portion of actual fish in the fish tacos wasn't comparable to the portion of shrimp In the other dish but still a solid meal. Massive burrito, my daughter was very happy.

Kathleen Kathleen
Kathleen Kathleen

They have an undeniably breathtaking view, along with amazing service. However, the food was not really special and fell short of expectations, especially considering the price point. I ordered salad, plantain, and yuca fries. My salad was really salty. While the ambiance and service are top-notch, it's clear that the culinary offerings need to be elevated to match the restaurant's reputation and pricing.

L
Lea Niculescu

I booked this place a month in advance, for our anniversary. My husband and I came in about 10 minutes early. When we arrived, the hosts ignored us. I was hoping they’d ask if we had a reservation but they never did. They did help other customers as soon as they came in. I finally let them know we had our reservation soon. The whole host experience made my husband want to leave. I’m not sure what is was about us they made them want to ignore us, but it did really put a damper on the whole anniversary dinner. When we were seated, our service became much better from the servers. Our food was good. Nothing too remarkable. and the views were exceptional. You really come here for the views and the atmosphere.
