The food here is very good. The food is cooked and served quickly and hot. The staff is friendly and the music is really nice. They were able to accommodate a shell fish allergy and less spice and oil. We would recommend the ghee dosa, curry leaf chicken and the omelette. We really love this place and we come here at least once a week. The food is exceptional and so is the ambiance. The indo Chinese is our comfort food while the South Indian food is the best in bay area in my opinion. Bring your family and enjoy.

Best Indian food in town. South Indian specialties like dosa but also great non-veg items. Recommend hot and sour chicken soup, chicken garlic kabob and if you’re up for a kick the mutton suka is fantastic.

We went to dine in for dinner after a long time. Everything we ordered came quickly and tasted excellent. Both veg and non-veg items were great. The ambience was amazing and loved the food. Cherry on top was the service and Guru was wonderful and checked in with us regularly to see what we needed. Overall a great dine in experience!

Been to this place multiple times. They serve amazing south indian food. Their appam, idyappam, dosa are tasty. I usually order chicken/mutton kheema appam and buttermilk or rose milk. They have amazing Thava Pomphret fry. You should not try Naan, Roti, or chapati. Chapati is just frozen stuff reheated. Some chicken curries are just masala and too much oil with chicken. The food quality is average and quantity is good enough and worth the price. They have enough parking as well.

Visited Anjappar recently the ambience was good and the service was attentive, but the food itself felt a bit inconsistent. ✅ Drinks Rose Milk, Lemon Soda, and Sweet Lassi were all very refreshing and definitely the highlight of the visit. ✅ Good Dishes Naan and Chicken Gravy were flavorful and well-prepared. ⚖️ Average Dishes Mutton Biryani was just okay decent but not quite the rich Chettinadu flavor we expected. Kothu Parotta (Mutton) was also average. Fish Fry and Pomfret were below expectations and lacked the usual punch of Chettinadu seasoning. Overall, a mixed experience great ambience and drinks, but the food could use more consistency and stronger authentic flavors.

We came here at night while taking the kids to see Halloween decorations. It was our first time, and craving something spicy, we decided to give this place a try. The restaurant was decently crowded, and we were seated right away. It took about five minutes for someone to take our order, and no water was served until we asked. We ordered their special Anjappar Chicken Curry with steamed rice and biryani, plus a fried fish appetizer. The fish arrived first — but no plates were provided. The server went to get plates, placed them on the table, and walked off without actually setting them down for each of us. Then the curry arrived with no serving spoon. We waited patiently for the rice, which came five minutes later… again with no serving spoon. The biryani followed soon after, same story — no spoon. When we asked for three serving spoons (for the curry, rice, and biryani), the server grabbed two tablespoons from another table and dropped them on ours. Instead of asking again, we just kept switching spoons between dishes. Pathetic service, honestly. The only saving grace was the food — flavorful and spicy, just how we like it. But taking two stars off for the service, which completely ruined what could’ve been a great first visit.

I often order take out from this restaurant Santa Clara branch and mostly order same dish everytime as I really like their food. Today I ordered the same dish mutton liver masala and when I opened it smelled weird. It’s definitely not made today. As I have eaten their freshly made one on weekends. Usually there’s a difference in taste which is ordered on weekends and weekdays! Today’s order smelled bad. When my husband called them they didn’t offer any refund or offer to replace with any other thing. I ate a little bit and understood it’s not smelling good. I should have taken it to them but didn’t have the time! I had to throw the rest away.

I ordered chicken basmati rice biryani via uber , quality of biryani was pathetic. Rice was mushy and no taste. I belive they mixed left over biryani, it looked like that to me. I was very disappointed since I regularly order food here and never faced the issue.

I ordered a vegetarian thali for my wife through Doordash and was very disgusted to find a small dead cockroach in the sambar. I made a complaint to doordash and got the refund. My wife who is pure vegetarian is still shocked by the incident. This is a memory we can hardly erase. I wish the management takes immediate action to keep their kitchen clean. Hope this doesnt happen to anyone in the future. 1 star because couldnt give 0. See the attached pic.

Food is good. Ordered burnt garlic fried rice, Baby Corn Pepper Onion, Jigarthanda and Falooda. Falooda is rock solid frozen (guessing no one has ordered it in a while and the ice cream is just sitting in freezer), jigarthanda was too sweet but still good. Service was terrible, the waiter behaves as if he is working in a michelin star restaurant and we were denied a table of our choice (it was 4 PM and place was 70% empty), vague answers and rude responses. Dine in restaurants are not always about food, it is about service and ambience which this Anjappar lacks, Hope they realize that.
