We had a wonderful time for a late lunch. I ordered the shrimp tostadas and my husband had the grouper sandwich with coleslaw, others ordered the Cuban sandwich with fries, and Jamaican jerk tacos. The Cuban sandwich had tough bread. We ordered the chocolate cake for dessert. Everything else was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The slaw has wonderful fruity undertones. Very nice atmosphere and our server Valita, was so sweet. She knew the menu and answered all the questions we had.
After spending a relaxing morning at Lido Key Beach, we walked over to Cha Cha Coconut for lunch. The weather was perfect, so we chose to sit outside and enjoy the laid-back island vibe. We started with the Coquina Beach Fruit Cobbler—a refreshing mix of strawberry purée, pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, and a splash of soda. Light, fruity, and just right for a warm afternoon. For food, we ordered the grouper bites as an appetizer, which were nicely done and flavorful. For entrées, we tried Emily’s Soca Coconut Shrimp, served with island fries, coleslaw, and a spicy coconut mustard sauce—crispy, well-balanced, and very enjoyable. We also ordered the Cha Cha-Cheesy Quesadilla, which was comforting and satisfying. One thing worth highlighting: I’m sensitive to seafood smell, and they did an excellent job here—no “fishy” or overpowering odor at all, which made the entire meal much more enjoyable. Parking tip: Parking around St. Armands Circle can be hard to find and is mostly paid. If you’re okay with a short walk, there’s plenty of parking available at Lido Key Beach, which is about a 15-minute walk from the restaurant. Overall, everything we had was tasty, well prepared, and enjoyable. A great spot for a relaxed lunch after the beach, especially if you enjoy fresh flavors in an easygoing outdoor setting.
My family went here on Christmas Day 2025. We were warmly greeted and sat at one of Heidi's tables. She is absolutely wonderful. I wore a Mele Kalikimaka santa hat and Heidi immediately connected with me on that with both of our history with Hawaii. It was nice to be treated with such wonderful Aloha spirit and kindness. My family was impressed with Cha Cha Coconuts and we were also obsessed with the delicious food. I highly recommend you check out Cha Cha Coconuts for not only the delicious food and tasty drinks but also the wonderful customer service. Try and sit in Heidi's section if you can, you will not be disappointed!
Pros: Good, unfussy food that’s approachable for the whole family. Great location with a relaxed vibe and live music. Perfect place to show up in flip-flops and dig into coconut shrimp. Not the spot if you’re looking for something upscale—there are plenty of higher-end options around St. Armands. Cons: no real cons here, drop in and give it a try.
First time in Sarasota and my husband and I absolutely loved this place from roof to floor!!! On top of the festive decor the food was fabulous! We split the chips and queso, I had the coconut shrimp and my husband had the full rack of ribs! I wish we remembered our waitress’ name because she was absolutely delightful. She had red hair and was born in Michigan if that help figure out who we loved🤣 We are staying in Englewood but will absolutely be back before we head home!💖
Really liked it, they have a great happy hour from 4 to 6, half price drinks, Margaritas and Rumrunners we chose were $6.00 and we're really good, usually a happy hour Margarita at some places are a cheap mix with a splash of tequila, these were smooth with a nice salted rim and garnish, rum runner wad equally as good, Nice appetizers as well and weather on the patio was great, server was friendly and prompt, clean restrooms. Will be back
I had a fantastic experience, perfect little beach town, restaurant/bar, great food, live music, good service, and drinks. Definitely try the shrimp fondue, its superb!
Good food and good service. Our waiter was Mike. Good at his job. We had ribs and the pineapple chicken. Delicious.
Food was good and the environment was awesome. Our waitress ashley gave us some of the best service I’ve had in a while, will definitely come back.
Great food! Very fresh and unique. Had Tim as a server, and he was great with his recommendations and descriptions of the food.
Wonderful place. Great food. Excellent service. I had the lobster roll with rice. Big hunks of lobster and lots of it. Nice music not too loud.
Fantastic place to grab lunch. From the staff to the food. This place was great. Sit outside have an adult beverage and people watch. The grouper bites were great as was the Cuban sandwich. But the Tabago Tuna Taco’s. These were the best taco’s that I’ve had while in Florida. The el bandido was also superb. Well done Cha Cha Coconuts!!!!
We sat outside on and had grouper bites> Amazing atmosphere great music and good price.
Great stop in for lunch. Drinks and food were great and friendly service. We just missed the steel drum live music but hope to catch it next time!
Loved this place! The vibe was great, right in the middle of all the action in Sarasota, just down the road from the beach. We almost walked right past it but we are so glad we stopped. It was a seat-yourself environment and we chose to sit outside on the sidewalk which provided a lively feel. And the food was AMAZING. Some of the best we had on our vacation. Definitely recommend going!
Our server maddison was AMAZINGGG she was so nice and her hair and lashes ate. Her nose ring was so cute and again her hair was like MERMAIDDDD omg gorgeous girlll. She was fast and got all of our food correct. She is the best and if you go here ask for MADDISON BECAUSE SHES THE BEST! :)
This was our second day back at Cha Cha! We asked for Missy because she was a wonderful sever last night! I was a server and know how hard it is! She did everything right. Food came out in a timely fashion as well as drinks! She remembered we loved the Shrimpy Fondue and we of course ordered it again! She remembered our son was getting married that we talked about last night. She really tries to make connections with her customers,! She is definitely a fantastic server! Ask for her on your next visit! She even looked festive after working long hours on Thanksgiving day!
Awesome! burger cooked to perfection! The Shrimp tacos and Jerk chicken taco were amazing ! The burger had sweet potato fries with apple butter, which I have never had before and you definitely need to try? #chachacoconuts was great. Conveniently located on the St Armands circle, easy to find parking. Great collection of carved coconuts 🌴 the staff service and manager were full of energy which get 5Stars with me.
Our group ate here before shopping in St. Armand. We had the grouper bires, coconut fried shrimp, chicken tenders, grouper tacos, chicken wings, salad and chili. Everything was delicious and prepared as listed in yhe menu. The dipping sauce for the shrimp and chicken fingers is good, it's not spicy at all.Our server was friendly and efficient.
This place is a little overshadowed by the Columbia restaurant next-door, but the food here overshadows the Columbia. I had the blackened grouper sandwich, which was done perfectly. You get a side with the group or Santa and I got the black beans over yellow rice and it was delicious. If you enjoy black beans, this is an excellent side to order. my wife ordered the burrito bowl with shrimp and the mango dressing which I was fortunate enough to be able to try and it was awesome. We had to try their Keylime pie since we hadn’t tried it before and it is one of the best we have had. They don’t take reservations. It’s just a walk up and sit down, but there was a table available when we came up outside at 6 PM. If you’re in St Armands Circle you gotta try this place and if you’re not in it’s still worth the drive.
We had a party of 17, and our server Joe, killed it. Joe was organized and on top of things. Food was delicious and came out pretty quickly for how busy they were and the atmosphere was great. Definitely, will revisit this restaurant.
We enjoyed eating at this restaurant! The location is great and the views are good. The service was Good and the menu is excellent. We would recommend this restaurant and will return.
The other night for a couple drinks and a bite before we went out for the night and we had phenomenal service. Management staff was very attentive. Thanks Paul for a great evening
Amazing service at ChaCha Coconuts! Ashley and Veronica were awesome—super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience fun and easy. Great vibes, great service, and they really made us feel taken care of. We’ll definitely be back!
We haven't eaten here. We stop by for a beer before cruising st armands. Christie is usually bartending She is the best, cheerful and attentive even when it's busy
A pleasant surprise! We tried to go to Columbia next door and were told it would be a 2 hour wait. Walked next door to Cha Cha Coconuts and were sat immediately. Everything we ordered was delicious! The non alcoholic cucumber mule and the mango tea were so good! Fries and the dip, chef’s kiss. Good burger and onion rings. The Cuban is delicious - one of the best I’ve had and the Tony salad was a good runner up to the 1905 salad next door. Very good! Only negatives are that the mango tea does not come with free or even discounted refills, the bathroom was a hot mess (and as cold as a refrigerator, oddly enough) and at the end of our meal it was basically a full house, so it did get so loud that conversation was impossible. Would recommend!!! Will return.
Stopped by for a casual bite and ended up having a really great experience. The grouper tacos were fresh, perfectly cooked, and honestly hit the spot more than I expected. Everything came out fast and tasted like someone in the kitchen actually cares. Ashley was my server and she was amazing ,super attentive, friendly, and made the whole visit feel easy and relaxed. She checked in at just the right moments and took great care of me without it ever feeling forced. On top of that, she has one of those smiles that makes the place feel warmer the second she walks up to the table. The vibe was fun, laid-back. I’ll definitely be coming back. Great food, great service, and the kind of experience that makes you remember why spots like this stand out.
We spent a wonderful afternoon listening to music and enjoying some margaritas at Cha Cha Coconut's. The vibe was fabulous. Our waitress, Missy, was amazing. She's fun, knows the menu inside and out, and is a super attentive waitress. We will definitely be going back!!
Made New Years Eve reservations for 11 people. Our waitress Missy was absolutely awesome with all of us and so patient with our grandchildren. Food was so delicious!! Best service we had our entire 7 days we were here. We our here from the Pittsburgh PA area. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Kathleen DeGuffroy
This place is quite interesting. It is in a very busy upscale location, however the service is very casual, almost like beach side cafe. The food very basic and not interesting at all. For me the dinner was all about the live music. The solo-performer was amazing. I think, without the music, this place has nothing much to offer!!
It's one of the best restaurants I've had the pleasure to dine. We tried Gumbo, pineapple boat and lobster roll, each dish was amazing and everyone loved it(including kids). Atmost mention to our hostess Gracie who went above and beyond to cater all our whims, her service was truly exceptional and made us feel at home. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking about visiting this wonderful restaurant.
Madison was absolutely amazing! We were in town for a soccer tournament and came in with a group of about 40 people — half adults and half 12–13 year-old boys — and she handled the entire group on her own with total ease and professionalism. Everything ran smoothly, drinks were great, the food was delicious, and she kept a positive, calm attitude the whole time. We were truly impressed and so grateful for her excellent service. Highly recommend!
If you’re looking for a laid-back Florida gem with good food and genuinely warm service, look no further than cha cha coconuts! From the moment my husband and I walked in, the relaxed coastal vibe and friendly energy made it clear this was going to be a great experience. They even had live music that was beautiful played by a man and woman playing guitar and violin! The food was delicious. We ordered the grouper bites with a side of their house-made coconut honey mustard dipping sauce — perfectly cooked & full of flavor. We also ordered the highly recommended chicken and shrimp with vegetables served in a half cut Pineapple that we’re still talking about!! Portions are generous, and prices are great for the quality! What really set this place apart, though, was the service and the staff. Our server who also was the manager whose name was Paul was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, and every staff member we interacted with seemed genuinely happy to be there. They were working very hard serving large tables of people, all full of smiles! Paul checked on us mid-meal just to make sure everything was up to par. He was friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about making sure guests ( both locals and tourists) feel welcome. You can tell he leads by example —the whole staff was on point, and the positive energy flowed throughout the restaurant. Between the great food, casual beachy atmosphere, and outstanding management, cha cha coconuts is a place we’ll be recommending to everyone. Can’t wait to come back!
I have to admit I was skeptical at first but my family was very hungry. We walk in ...the staff was so nice and welcoming! The server was fun and engaging- she made good recommendations too! I am impressed. All around a great spot!
My boyfriend and I came here and had a genuinely fantastic time. The food was so awesome, highly suggest the Shrimp Fondue it was BOMB & we got the mahi mahi sandwich and the chicken tinga tostadas and I literally wanted to take more to go because they were soo freaking gooddd!!!!! Food came out quick service was quick and easy, would 100% come here again. I don’t usually write reviews but this one was just so goodddd!! pretty live music, and good vibe
Loved the relaxed atmosphere! Live music with a violin was very unique and unexpected :)The staff were very friendly and checked on us even they were not assigned to our seating area! We got the Hollowed pineapple with the blackened chicken & shrimp with rice and beans! IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! special thanks to their manager Paul for being so attentive and also taking time to share the history of the restaurant especially recovering after the most recent hurricane! Definitely going back when we visit the area again!
Definitely a spot for tourists. As long as you understand that, then the food and atmosphere are right up your alley. Good quality and good service. Nice to sit outside and look out to the shops. Live music was playing outside.
You had amazing food, the drinks are strong and the service is super friendly and helpful. It’s hard to beat the atmosphere and location. Loved the live music.
Got a strawberry smoothie drink a little weird that they didn’t fill the cup to the top but the service was great. That atmosphere was great. The pulled chicken tostadas were good. They were soggy but good clean environment, bathrooms, clean fast and friendly service.
We enjoyed a Saturday afternoon lunch at Coconuts. They have a lot of outdoor tables and we didn’t even have to wait. The server was a little slow at the start, but she improved. It’s a pretty simple menu but they have most of the American bar/pub foods that you’d expect. Nice beer selection and the price wasn’t too crazy understanding that you’re in St Armands.
The atmosphere was very nice . There was music and you’re right outside of center square . The food was tasty. We had CHIPS AND SALSA and GUACAMOLE . The chips weren’t good. It tasted Bland. We also had CHA CHA-CHEESY QUESADILLA BLACK BEAN ( which was vegetarian) tasty We also had island fires which were awesome My husband had VOODOO RIBS FULL RACK which is the house specialty. This recipe comes from the Blue Mountains of Jamaica. Lean, tender, meaty pork ribs slowly roasted and basted with guava barbecue sauce. Served with your choice of two sides. We got island fries ( 8/10 rating) Parking is street parking which is meter parking
Came in because we were looking for a place that had the game on and had specials which they did..5 stars for that. It's a cool little bar and our bartender was GREAT! The beer bucket special was good, the chips and queso were meh, but all good. Can't speak for the food, didn't "eat" here. But cool spot to watch the game and have a beer for sure!
The Cha Cha pick was a great deal. I chose the Cuban and 1/2 Tony Salad and that was so much food I couldn't finish. Happy hour offers up good apps and drink specials.
I went a few weeks ago and as other reviewers have said the food is mid. We ordered the chicken quesadilla for an app and it was good. I then ordered the Cuban and let’s just say not was I was expecting and not in a good way. I did like the sweet potato fries as they were awesome with the apple butter. I wasn’t going to have dessert but the waitress said it was awesome and I love key lime pie. It was solid. I will say you don’t really stop here for the food, I enjoyed sitting outside by the sidewalk with an ice cold beer listening to the live music.
Very average. Party of 7 and we all ordered different meals. Voodoo ribs were very tasty. All other items were underwhelming. Cocktails were NOT good, low on flavor and alcohol content. Better off ordering a beer or shots of liquor because they can’t ruin it. Service wasn’t great either. Mike, our server was a nice guy, but unfocused and disinterested. The place was not busy at all, but it was tough to get his attention whenever we needed something. I will definitely return to give them another shot, but my expectations will definitely be low.
Beautiful location. Staff must've been short bc there weren't that many people and we had to let someone know we were there waiting after 15 minutes of being seated. After that it was ok. Food was ok. More like a lunch place than dinner. No steak options. Only pork, chicken or fish varieties.
The staff at Cha Cha Coconuts was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome right away. I really enjoyed the lobster shrimp bisque appetizer, but the rest of the meal was hit or miss. My shrimp tacos were surprisingly spicy but lacked flavor, and the drinks were unfortunately watered down, which was disappointing. The view from the patio overlooking downtown Sarasota definitely added to the experience, but overall the food and drinks didn’t quite live up to the setting.
Good food. Unbelievably rude service. I called to order takeout. I was put on hold for 6 minutes. I was about to hang up but someone finally took me off hold. I said I was about to hang up, and she said I was only on hold for one minute, so I told her I was on hold for 6, and she argued with me, insisting it was only 1 minute when I obviously know exactly how long I was on hold. I didn’t care about being on hold, but she was so argumentative for no reason. When I went in to pick up my food, she wouldn’t even make contact, or hand me my bag of food. I had to step on a bar stool to reach it on the other end of the bar. She definitely seemed like she was trying to close the place, but this was at 715, and Google said they closed at 10. I am a regular in this area, staying around St. Armand’s twice per month. This was the first and last time I’ll eat here!
Service was slow. Cleanliness was ok. The sinks in the bathroom were wet everywhere and soap was on counter. Restaurant feels a little dated with decor. Food was ok. I expected a little more out of the shrimp tacos. The tortillas were from a bag from a grocery store. I hoped they would have tasted less like the ones I make from home. A server came by and swept under the table next to us while the people were still eating. I've never seen that before. This was my first time in St. Armands circle and next time I will be going to a different place for lunch.
We have been visiting this restaurant for over 20 years and always had good service, good food and no problem with bill. This year however, I applied my veterans discount after the initial bill was provided to be told no issue. However both payments were taken. My veterans discount not applied and I am still waiting to receive my refund. The bank says it is pending. I was promised by the manager at Cha Cha Coconuts St Armand, it would be shown but rectified within a couple of days. That is now a month ago. Not Happy. Having been contacted by ChaCha Coconuts management, neither the email or the contact page are working. So how can I obtain a resolution?
