Quick service, good food, nice atmosphere. We like the grilled chicken with pineapple slice on top and the southwestern grilled chicken with cheese and tomatoes (hold the chives). Good fries and onion rings. Desserts are always a good option as well, can scope those out on the way in.
All the young people who cooked and served in the restaurant that night made me feel like I was their only customer, which always feels good. The food was old, timey down home delicious. All the breads and desserts are homemade, and I can't wait until I can go back. This place is not to be missed if you're ever in that area. Enjoy!
Service was great, cool atmosphere amd the food was delicious. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be returning!
First time visiting there. Great atmosphere, friendly service and the food was very delicious. My girlfriend and I had the bacon cheeseburger and the regular cheeseburger. Both were very tasty and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this neighborhood restaurant and plan on going back when the opportunity arises.
Tracks has never let us down. We usually order to go, and when they say it will be done in 10-15 minutes, they’re on point. Even feeding a family of 5. The salads are fantastic and the chicken quesadillas are a must have. I do wish there burgers came with the fries instead of as an add on, but I understand. And the cakes are out of this world. Love the variety!
Finally stopped in and tried the food and it's to DIE FOR. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and not only were there loaded mushrooms but the MEAT. Not hard to chew and the flavor was immaculate! Kudos to the kitchen staff doing their thing and shout out to the online order waitress for her sweet hospitality.(Hailey?) Great service 10/10 will eat here again!
Amazing food. Fried Zucchini is slapping over here yall. And the other southern style meals they have are just as great. Small town feel. Country and quiet. Absolutely love the restaurant, food, and kind employees.
My wife was absolutely spell bound by everything the trains that run the tracks , the 1900's train tickets , etc. The Food was absolutely perfect and ( fwi ) get the German chocolate cake for dessert !! 🤤🤤🤤 Now don't worry about your mouth getting dry the pretty young ladies there are quick to serve.. 100% ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My husband and I discovered Tracks this week. We shared a starter of fried zucchini and both ordered chicken fried chicken with various sides. Good ice and the Dr. Pepper tasted awesome. Staff was friendly and very attentive. 5 out of 5 stars!
First time to dine here and this was just an awesome time. Food was good and service was super friendly. Very family friendly 😊
I like their simple American food, and it's the one place my father will EVER go. The people have always come off as friendly to us. And, they're fairly quick with the to-go orders.
I love going here, the Waitresses are always nice and friendly, making sure we have everything we need. The food is definitely delicious, tasting homemade and the fried pickles are amazing too! Tracks will always be my favorite restaurant no matter what and ill always keep going
My husband found this place by accident and brought it home for dinner and we loved it and have ordered it to go a few times now. The chicken fried steak is good and the mashed potatoes and gravy are a must have. The staff has always been friendly when we call to place the to go order and when we pick up so I'm sure they are just as friendly dining in.
It was a to go order quick, friendly, and very delicious food.😋
Great food for a decent price. Default netly recommend the chicken fried steak, best thing I ate so far. The service was great and they even gave me a to-go drink without having to ask.
Family friendly environment with food that will blow your socks off. Wait staff were very attentive and friendly. Best of all the desserts come from Mom’s Bakery Sherman and will not disappoint. Loved the visit and will definitely be returning.
Best chicken fried steak for many miles around. Excellent food and service. No choice is wrong.
Good ole fashion country cookin'
Best hamburgers ever, 🍔 even the buns are fresh and favorable! Onion rings are fantastic, too! Can't say enough good things about Tracks. Fast service, clean restaurant, and adorable train going around the room always makes me smile 😃 😊.
The service is very real. It comes from a place of actually caring, not because you are supposed to. But because they want to. They all look out for all the tables. The atmosphere is comfortable, warm, cozy for any occasion. The food is great. So many great items on the menu.
Always an amazing place for the family dinners!
I found this place by purely by chance. We walked inside and were greeted by a very friendly staff. We were seated immediately. The place is nice and clean and the have tons of railroad signs and even have a small train circling around the dining room. The food came out fast and it was very hot and fresh, everything tasted great!. I ordered a key lime pie and that was great too, the only complaint I have is personal preference that the pie wasn't cold enough.
Good place for a chicken fried steak with fried okra. Key lime pie is dyed green, so come here on St. Patrick's Day! Train on tracks up on a shelf going around the restaurant is amusing and fits with the restaurant's theme.
I love this place. Carry out never lets me down.
Friendly and helpful service. Our toddler has a dairy allergy and they were very accommodating. Food was great. The chocolate pie was awesome, rich, but not too sweet. We will definitely be back!
Great food, good prices, friendly staff, clean.
Found this place on vacation and a recommendation from a owner of a shop in downtown Sherman. A block from the main highway we had hamburgers and I had the Chicken fried chicken. Great food and sure not from one of those chain eateries! Highly recommend and they have great friendly staff. Would stop here again if in the area!
Was looking for a place between Denison an Allen to meet my son for dinner. Then I discovered this little slice of heaven. Zucchini was fresh and awesome. French Fries fresh cut. Gravy i wanted to bottle and take home. If you traveling N or S on the 75 you got to stop in and ENJOY. A+++
We went to a Medicare Dinner at Tracks, everything was awesome and the nice woman giving this information was very informative and a please to listen to. My husband has good information for when he can apply for Medicare.
Excellent food and service with a smile! The menu has lots of variety. Everything I've tried tasted great! It's one of my favorite spots for lunch! The chicken sandwich is huge, it could feed 2 people! Their burgers are outstanding! Stop by and try out Tracks, you'll definitely enjoy!
It is a casual, family owned restaurant with a long history of excellent service and a variety of fresh, delicious foods. They have separate dining areas, so it doesn't get noisy even when the restaurant is full. Tracks is always very clean and neat with attractive railroad theme decor.
Cute little place - food was WONDERFUL! Not very greasy. The buns on the burgers were so good. Fries had no salt - but I don’t mind that is a semi health conscious person. I bring my own salt! So it was a great atmosphere clean and delicious! Will be back!
TORTUGA GRANDE reporting! Your good all american home cooking eatery. Tortuga Grande 35K brought all the way from Knox, Indiana via Indianapolis and a few other states to the great of Texas. We landed at Lazy L RV Park. We settled in and asked the office about a restaurant near by with some tasty home cooking. She recommended Tracks. Sure enough, Tracks is the place to eat. I highly recommend it, superb!
Food was great! We will definitely be back.
Great food! great German chic chocolate cake. Tastes of homemade!
Excellent service and the food was delicious. The Italian Cream Cake was wonderful!
Just ate here for the first time and the food was great! Hot, fresh, and fast. Appetizer platter was really good and came with more than we had expected. Chicken fried chicken was a little better than the steak but both were incredible. Don’t miss out on the onion rings. Best classic American diner we’ve been to in a long time and a really cool atmosphere with old classic trains.
Always friendly, clean, wheelchair friendly, delicious food never disappointed
First time here! Great place, great staff & great food. We got the fried zucchini for our appetizer. For our lunch we got the hickory burgers and added bacon. So yummy. They have the best fries & onion rings too. Our server, Valeria was sweet & made sure we were good. She brought us extra napkins with our appetizer then our food too! Thank you for making our first experience great! We will be back when over in Texas again 😊
Tracks is a local family restaurant with a railroad theme ambience. Traditional yummy home cooking, and a wonderful staff.
The food was great as always, service excellent, we had a very large group of 21.
Great home style food and desserts are provided by Mom's Bakery in Sherman on woods st. They have a huge list of fresh cakes & pies! I had the chicken strip meal and my husband ordered the bacon cheese burger, both were really good! They offer a good selection of food so there is something for everyone! The wait staff was super friendly and helpful when I came in to place an order to go.
Tracks is amazing, the food comes out fresh and hot and delicious. The portions are very generous. Jamie was an outstanding server. We had a big party and she handled us with ease. I will definitely be back.
Stopped in for a burger while passing through, and I'm glad I did. They have standard Texas comfort food like chicken fried steak/chicken, burgers, etc. The place has a train stop theme with a toy train running around the room. My burger was nicely seared with fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and mustard, of course. I had them bring me mayo because that's the way I roll. The onuon rings were exceptional.
Excellent hospitality and service. The food was delicious. Our cheeseburger and fries were cooked right and served hot and fast. Our cheesy chicken nachos topped with jalapenos were so good we couldn't stop eating them.
Stopped in for a bite on our way back to San Antone from Kansas. So glad we did. The food was amazing and the service was on point with a friendly smile. The only negative is that its no where near home. ENJOY!
This was so good and delicious! My aunt and I wanted to try a new place and we are so glad we chose this place. If you are a train lover like me you will love the atmosphere. There is a mini train that runs along a track around the room, train photos on every wall, and railroad accessories throughout. The food was excellent I had the child's chicken fried steak with French fries, my aunt had the Chicken fried chicken with onion rings, and we shared some fried green tomatoes. The food looked so good and tasted even better. I wish I would have remembered to get a photo before we started eating. The portion for the child's plate was just the right amount and the adult plate was more than plenty. I highly recommend Tracks for your next meal! We went in the afternoon around 3pm and had the best service.
**Out of towners looking for a place to eat** This place is great!!! Great decor, great food and a cute, clean bathroom! The fried pickles and fried mushrooms are perfect! The breading on them is perfect! Can't say enough about how wonderful this eatery is. The waitresses could be a little friendlier but, in their defense, it was a Sunday afternoon. They're young, I'm sure they'd rather be doing something else. You have to check it out!!!
Very cozy! Good friendly staff. I had to have fried zucchini. YUM! Tried the club sandwich, was very pleased. My cousin had the mushroom burger and loved it. We'll be going back.
You really can't go wrong with this place. I've been going here for years and have ordered a lot and it's always been good. Their Chicken fried steak , grilled chicken, and steak is always excellent. One thing that I tried that a lot of people probably overlook is their burgers. They are actually really good.
Good meal with my church family. Attended Sisters on Saturday with One Church Whitesboro. We had a great time visiting with each other and enjoying a beautiful atmosphere. The staff was kind and right on Q with refills of our drinks. Highly recommend this restaurant.
If you're not from Sherman and looking for a local place to eat, I highly recommend Tracks. Great old time atmosphere with a nice little train going around the restaurant. Now as for the food, I ordered the chicken tenders and I was surprised by the quality, not overly fried, salty, and still juicy but not soggy. The staff was very polite and cordial. Wish I had room for the desserts.
Really great atmosphere! Even if you don’t like trains, you can appreciate the time and effort put into the decorations. The food is very good, and the service has always been top notch. If you haven’t been, you should give it a try. Just a warning though, the chicken fried steak is huge!
I dined with my family at Tracks restaurant yesterday and the people that work there are amazing. I had my husband and my granddaughter and my two great granddaughters and my great grandson with us. …
Great service and as usual great chicken fried steak. appetizer tray was super!l I love watching the little train making its rounds.

My father loves their train that runs around while you're dining! Large food portions, service was quick, unique dining experience!!!
Food and service was good. Portions were more than enough. Place was clean. I highly recommend.
We went on Mothers Day. The food & service was excellent! We enjoyed the atmosphere of this little gem because it was quiet!

Arrived with a large party and quickly seated. One waitperson but she was excellent! Food was good.
Surprisingly large amount of seating. Quite popular with the locals. Menu generally features comfort food. Friendly staff.
Second time eating here. Both times have been good. Despite being busy (both times) the food came out fast and fresh. Very diverse Cafe style menu. Waitress was very personable and offered great advice when helping my wife pick a dessert.
I ordered the chicken diet plate. The chicken was fine but the salad was inedible. There were rotten pieces of lettuce in the salad and the rest was white, not green. It certainly was a DIET plate. The staff were very nice.
Had the fried green tomatoes they were good. The chicken fried steak was also good but a little on the small size for chicken fried steak. The gravy was great. Wish they had fresh salad dressings. At least the ranch, it was ok. The blue cheese dressing wasn't that good. The best thing was their rolls, fresh and tasting.
Food was great, service was amazing. Alittle pricey but not bad.
Stopped specifically at this place because their chicken fried steak came up on several "best" lists in Texas. Looked appealing enough but was unremarkable and flavorless. Not bad persee, just kind of meh after all the positive articles. Service staff was great and friendly but going to the bathroom, the floors around the kitchen were slick like ice. Not sure what that speaks to for cleanliness, just an observation. Probably won't stop by again on my travels if in the area.
Cute local place. Fast and friendly service. The train around the ceiling is a fun touch.
Good mom & pop shop to dine in. Food is always good, staff is always amazing.
The outside looks really ghetto. I wasn't sure if this was the best place to go to after church but we went anyway. Right when we walked through the door we were instantly greeted with great hospitality. The place on the inside looks really cool. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with pinto beans and mashed potatoes and it was really delicious. The chicken was hot and crispy on the outside. I definitely recommend coming to this restaurant. 8.5/10
This is one of the homiest places to eat in, and definitely cool for kids or adults if you like trains. I always get the chicken fried chicken, which is 10/10, even when ordering takeout. My only complaint is that some of the sides taste like cafeteria food, but I don't mind it too much.
I asked about the Chicken fried steak before I ordered. I was told that if I was hungry I should get the chicken fried chicken so I did. It wasn’t a steak at all I was given a chicken breast in its natural form dipped in breading then over deep fried . Nearly too hard to eat. But the onion rings they were nice and soggy. My friends French fries were equally soft and limp, the shiny point was he enjoyed his hamburger. We both enjoyed the Coconut pie.
Good food and great prices! My wife had the Club, and I had the mushroom burger! Food was good! Sweet Tea was perfect, and the food was fresh! Burger was done perfectly and the fries were not too salty! A little off the main road and looks a bit off-putting on the outside and the interior could use a good deep clean (dusty decor and sticky tables) but don't let that stop you!
Great food- loved the hamburger and especially the bun. 4 stars because you walk out smelling like fried food.

My ideal for small town, dining. Good food, good service, and a whimsical atmosphere. Large portions and reasonable prices.
Great service. Food was okay. Had the guacamole burger and the burger tasted like it was a frozen patty. Guacamole was a little runny and the onion rings were okay.

The service here was excellent, went for dinner 2x Adults 3x kids. We got the Fried Pickles appetizer which were great. Chili burger, Mushroom Burger, Club sandwich, and two kids meals. Our total was over $100. The food/location just does not merit the prices here. Will not be back, we were absolutely over charged here.
Had the burger....was a good tasting burger. Onion rings were a little soggy but still ok. Been a while since I been here. Wow prices have gone up. But I guess that is everyplace now.
Finally tried Tracks ordering takeout. We ordered beef tacos, baked potato, fries, and a child's chicken fried steak. In all fairness, everything was good except the portion size of the beef tacos. Upon opening the package, it looked good until I folded over the tacos. There was very little meat and mostly tortillas. There was such a small amount in one taco, I had to combine two just to make one, therefore, essentially robbing me of one taco. After putting on the toppings, the tacos still rolled up like small taquitos. Remember the old commercials about, where's the beef? Come on Tracks! Hopefully this was just a one time deal because everything else was fine. I really could've put everything in one and just made one normal size taco. I will probably go back and try once more just to see how it goes. If it wasn't for the almost no meat, I'd have given this place a 4.5 star rating. Still gave it a 3 because the rest of the food was good with adequate portions. I was just expecting more from Tracks.
My husband and I went here for the first time tonight and I must say we had the best waitress, Maycee. She was friendly, courteous, and was overall a wonderful waitress. As far as our food, we both thought our hamburgers 🍔 were very average and would give them a 3. We didn’t think anything was too spectacular about them in the arena of taste. My husband really enjoyed the fried pickles and he said he’d give them a 5, I’d give them a 4 in taste. He liked that the pickles were lightly battered and not overly greasy and the pickle flavor came Thru. I was impressed with how many were in the basket, it was a good size order. He thought his Tater Tots were about a 3 1/2 or 4. He liked that they tasted fresh and not like they’d been sitting under a heat lamp or twice cooked. He thought the onion 🧅 rings were sweet and not overly greasy and would give them a 4 1/2, for me I’d give them a 4. Overall, we had a good dining experience. Although our burgers 🍔 tasted very average and we may never get them again, our waitress made our first dining experience there a very pleasant one and we’d give her a 5.

We went here for the first time yesterday morning for my moms birthday. Our waitress was nice, food was mediocre, fries were disgusting and only the black nasty part of the potatoes. Kids drinks cost the same as adult drinks yet come in a cup 1/4 the size. They actually forgot to bring our moms food out and we had to ask for it once we realized they weren’t going to bring it. Not a great birthday lunch at all. Food was not good enough to go back at all. Wasted $51 The only reason I’m not doing one star is because our waitress was nice.
Been here a few times in the past. Don't know for sure what happened but the food was way below par. My wife got the gumbo....turned out to be watered down chicken soup. My dad and I got the chicken fried steak. Looks and tastes like it came from a box. Man this place used to rock. Not sure what happened but I don't think we will go out of our way to come back. Service was good though.
Went to Tracks for the first time today with 3 other people. It's a cute place, the servers were very nice, quick and friendly. I like the place, it had some great history and a vibe to it. The food wasn't my favorite, mostly because it lacked flavor. we ordered the trio appetizer, they were cooked fully, a nice color but the batter of all the fried food had no flavor, none, no salt, no nothing. It was bland and the ranch looked old. I went to the mens room when I came back, my ranch had a layer of oil on top. Not good. While I really wanted to love the app, there was just no flavor to it, just tasted like fried flour. I thought, okay, no biggie, my Chicken Fried chicken sandwich with tator tots is going to ROCK. But it didn't, the chicken was overcooked, dry. UGH. And the bun it was served on was cold, WHAT!!! Okay, still, I thought my tots, you can't go wrong with them,. They were also overcooked. You know how they are supposed to be just a tad soft in the middle, these were fried all the way through. As not to upset the rest of my party, I said I was full from the morning meal so that it wouldn't look bad that I only took one bite of my sandwich. Now, my brothers patty melt was very good, it was moist, juicy. but it was his. Another guy had a baked potato that he prepared with his fixings, that was good. I don't think I will return. It was very popular among the senior community, maybe the food is targeted for that audience.
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! The food is quite literally from a CAN and unseasoned. The “country fried steak” is a 2 ounce patty made of who knows what and the mashed potatoes are instant, the lemons for tea are rotten, the cooks don’t wear hair nets or gloves, the “homemade” cakes are Betty Crocker mix with a few extra ingredients and made weeks or months in advance, some have found metal or plastic in them. The containers for dressing are almost never cleaned, just refilled. The whole place smells like rotten eggs and the bathroom stinks like it never gets cleaned. The servers are amazing and so kind but the restaurant itself is run down. Wouldn’t tell my worst enemies to eat here. Save your money. Ps, the management is EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude. I’ve never in my life experienced this kind of behavior from a group of “adults” it is seriously embarrassing.
Ordered soup and baked potato. Simple, right? There was a large chunk of a hamburger patty in my CHICKEN tortilla soup and the sour cream on the potato was curdled & the consistency of cottage cheese. I was told “I really don’t know what you want me to do. Other foods are cooked in the kitchen so sometimes things end up in other things” and when I requested a refund, I was told “I don’t have a way of doing a refund.” I have tried giving this place chance after chance (after ordering a club sandwich but receiving a single slice of turkey on dry bread and even after they tried to charge me $23 for a salad because I asked for extra chicken on the salad- I was charged for the salad and an entire chicken MEAL), but it’s clear that customer service isn’t a priority and they don’t take pride in their food so we definitely won’t drop another dime in this place. And that sucks because there’s a lot of us that work nearby and appreciate grabbing lunch from local restaurants.
