It's been awhile since we've back(2 1/2yrs) but had to visit again because it was part of our Bodega Bay family trip so we brought our last born to continue the tradition Great place and the pick up to go sea food is excellent, Had to grab a quick treat before leaving absolutely DELICIOUS!!
Pretty nice place to grab a beer and chow down some pretty darn good seafood. Clam chowder was bomb!! Wish I got but thought it would be real fishy but it was not. Oysters take a few to cook up but fresh and barbecued right outside. Grilled cheese was a great back up for not liking oysters. Seating outside AND a wine tasting room. Interesting spot.
Tag this place on your Google maps so you don't miss it on your way out to Bodega Bay or the coast. Fresh oysters prepared there or ready to take home by the dozens. Both inside and outdoor seating are available. Order inside at the counter on the right before grabbing a seat. Nice shop with many treats. Drinks, desserts and much more available.
The grilled medium oysters were huge, juicy, and absolutely perfect! The tiny Kumamoto were probably in my top dozen most expensive foods per oz. but they were sweet and delicious. I have put the two types of oyster side by side to show the size comparison! Great fun for a 15 minute roadside treat.
Got 50 kumamotos but there were definitely closer to 65 or 70 in the bag. So fresh, creamy and delicious! Maybe 1/3 of them actually made it to the grill, they were too good ice cold and raw. Cut the meat away from the shell and let them sizzle on the grill with a dollop of compound butter- butter, garlic, shallots, white pepper and lemon with a tiny squirt of hot sauce🥰🥰🥰🥰
Tried this place for the first time this past Saturday and it was super busy. I wanted to dine in and take oysters home. They had a pretty big menu and the a cute little shop. The lady at the counter was very kind and helpful, she walked me through how it all worked and told me about all the different oysters and their dine in options. Their dining room and picnic area was lovely. I'm definitely making this a regular stop when I'm in the area!
Every time we visit Bodega Bay we stop here to buy oysters for my wife's uncles to teach me how to Shuck. Always fresh! Great selection
Great spot for a picnic. Dog friendly outdoor area with lots of tables. Oysters were delicious and other foods available also.
Love this place. The order counter could be bigger with a few extra staff. Aside from that this is one of my favorite places. So quaint, charming, delicious and fresh !
Amazing unexpected find on the way back from Bodega Bay — we got a 6 oyster taster plate and accompanying wine flight for $30 and it totally hit the spot. Service was a bit abrupt but in a way I appreciated. Will def come back next time I’m up this way!
I dropped my kid off at a camp and stopped here on my way home. Super fresh oyster bliss. I brought some home to BBQ. They were pretty good too!
I usually just go pick a couple dozen fresh oysters. It's the only way you get to taste the sea when you eat them , not a big fan of eating in their their restaurants. It's expensive
The Oysters were great! So fresh and delicious. We were lucky enough to get there in time to have the grilled oysters. If the grill is behind you won't be able to order these and they are a must have. If its cold dress warm as you are sitting outside on picnic tables by the water. Limited beverage options so we went with wine.
We love coming here for fresh oysters. You can buy them to go, but we usually enjoy them right there. There are simple wooden tables outside and tables inside, and we almost always choose to sit outdoors — enjoying the fresh air and a bit of sunshine. Fresh, high-quality oysters, a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere, and a perfect place to slow down and enjoy simple pleasures.
Great food! The weather was great to sit outside and the food was great and fast. Lots of people were there to get oysters to go as well. Good drinks options and a great choice on our way back to Santa Rosa from the coast.
We came on the perfect day to try quite a few of their oyster varieties. The DIY price is great but if you prefer not to have your hand accidentally poked by the shucker, go with the half shelf option, your order will be served up very promptly and oh boy, aren't they the freshest that can be! It is like a piece of heaven in your mouth.
So glad we stopped! This roadside oyster bar was just what we wanted. Much cheaper than Tomales Bay and the line was WAY SHORTER! We go a sample platter and everything was tasty. I really liked the grilled oysters! They also have a good wine selection. The atmosphere was great and easy to park
Amazing oyster spot - classic of the Sonoma coast - always fresh and only $22 a dozen if you shuck them yourself! They also sell 50 at a time and are moving thousands of oysters a day on weekends. Great chowder too.
Short of the fact that the prices are off the hook the food was great. My 2 tacos was 15 dollars so, yeah. Service is perfect. The environment is very inviting. I would go back since it would be a rare occasion but not a regular type of location for food.
Nice to stop when we were driving to Bodega Bay. It’s like a little village where you could sit outside and eat all kinds of oysters. We have ordered 4 kinds of oysters and they were good and fresh. Grilled ones also was tasty.
Deliciousness!! Freshest oysters around!
What a gem we discovered traveling from Petaluma to Bodega Bay. Cute bistro type atmosphere inside, great super fresh oysters and friendly service.

Started off with half dozen mixed raw oysters and loved the fresh, sweet Kumamotos so much, we had to order some more, great pairings with Chandon Rose per wine server’s suggestion. Great place to come for fresh oysters with knowledgeable staffs.
Joe was the best! He gave us a short tour and showed our children how to open oysters. Give him a bonus! The oysters are the best too. A very nice place.
Tomales Bay grows great oysters and not just for Hog Island. This is a great small family business that takes care of their customers. I always buy to shuck myself, and end up with an overgenerous scoop of tasty bivalves, generally at least 50% more than I ordered. So just watch out as I've found that while I can shuck and suck a dozen oysters solo no problem, I need assistance with the 19 count Mariner's dozen that often comes home with me. If you go bigger than the small miyagis for raw eating props to you, I can only hang with the larger sizes when bisqueing it up.
We purchased four dozen oysters for New Years Eve. The friendly woman casually mentioned that ‘she had slipped a few more in there’. We were grateful…and then delighted to discover nearly a whole dozen extra once at home! Yet another reason to keep coming here for our large order oyster needs!
Hands down the freshest oysters around. The service is outstanding, and the ownership genuinely cares. You can feel the passion and pride in every detail, from the food itself to the overall experience.
The Menu had several options 😋, Wine, Local 🍺 beer. You can enjoy inside eating or outside where there's this cute old boat. Ohhh and inside. They also have souvenirs.
Super friendly service, guy in the back room even offered a taste of the oyster that we are going to buy for free. And yes that told us and we bought a ton of Kumatomo oysters

Great spot to stop by on the way to Bodega Bay. It was seemingly in the middle of no where, but glad we stopped by (needed to use the bathroom) and decided to get oysters too. They had a raw oyster and cooked oyster sampler ($25 each, 8 oysters total of different variations). It was good and we should have stopped there but ended up getting 1/2 dozen raw and 1/2 dozen cooked from the ones we liked. After tax and tip it was well over $120. For the price, we definitely wouldn’t have done it again… but now we know what to expect from the sampler and can just get the ones we like next time. They serve wine as well, it’s a nice place to hang out if we didn’t have any other plans. Beautiful day for it which worked in our favor.
Visited 5/31/2025 The good - good location, nice outdoor seating, nice inside area as well, we ordered a total of three types of oysters at six oysters apiece - the oysters were delicious, the selection of beers was decent, they sell a little merch, so we bought a t-shirt. The bad - the young women at the cash register acted like they'd rather be anywhere else, as if helping a customer was a nuisance keeping them from their cell phone, and spoke very little. No hello, thank yous, anything. When our food arrived we did not know which oysters were which and the young man who delivered them didn't seem to know either. Nothing on the tray about which were which either. We managed to figure them out by comparing what we were tasting against our order. Overall worth stopping by if you like oysters, beer, and being treated like you're an inconvenience by staff.
We just had a few dozen oysters and they were pretty good! A little muddy and the batch we had seemed a little salty. Plenty of picnic tables outside and a even a couple that are covered. They have a tasting room on the left and raw oyster counter on the right. Averages about $22 for a dozen, un-shucked. Lots of options for oysters but we went with mostly Kumamoto (of course) and some Belon.

We stopped here on our way to our weekend in Monte Rio. They have a great selection of snacks, salsas, wines abd of course, oysters. They offer several kinds, we got Miyagis and Kumamotos. They also have delicious clan chowder. Great option
Clam chowder and oysters were great but the burger was very soggy / messy. If you go the burger route, consider getting condiments on the side.
Really loved the grilled oysters. My favorite was the Japanese flavor. Picnic tables are available at the time of visit and have us a very laid back experience. The boat deco on the yard reminds you you’re closer to the coast. I would have added another star if the chowder was better. I hardly notice any clam on the clam chowder 😩
Not in Bodega Bay but really closer to Petaluma. Not even near the water. I was hoping for a View The lady at the counter could hardly care less what I ordered and even at one point said just what's on the menu! I spent $15 bread! 🍞

Was so excited to try this place after reading the reviews and hearing great things. However, it was not a good experience. The service was lackluster and it seemed like no one cared if you were interested in the oysters or not and seemed like they were all annoyed to be working there. My family of 6 were celebrating a birthday, we came in ordered one wine flight, two assorted oyster flights and one of the baked assorted. The order was delivered and just set on the table with no care or explanation on what wine/oysters were which. The Chardonnay tasted off, other two wines were good, figured out which ones were which on my own. The baked oysters were pretty decent in flavor but gave us stomachaches later on which was a little worrisome. We waited and waited for the other two oyster trays since they never arrived and staff didn't seem to notice or care. Finally went back to the ladies at the register to ask and the rest of our order was completely forgotten. No apology really after those were delivered. Your oysters are good your service just needs to match. We almost bought another round of fresh oysters but I chose not to due to the hospitality, so you lost out on some revenue there. At this point I would not return or recommend Bodega Bay Oyster Co. based on the service received and warn and prepare others for what they may experience.
We stopped at this place on way out of Bodega Bay . The food in Bodega was so great especially the seafood. . So I expected the same from this place but was sadly disappointed ! Being so close to San Francisco I thought it would be great place to get Chiopino . One of my favorite dishes! Unfortunately it was Horrible! So salty it was almost inedible ! The seafood in it didn’t taste fresh . The portion was extremely small . I guess 20.00 for Chiopino is cheap but you get what you pay for . I can assure I wont make that mistake again !
