I reserved the patio for our company holiday dinner party and it was a success! Denim is the event coordinator I worked with and she made everything go smoothly and took all the stress off my plate. Everyone in our group of about 40 had a blast! Thank you to Denim and the service staff that kept things moving and grooving 😀
Cover 3 has been a wonderful restaurant for me for the past several years. It's located directly across from where I work and I take clients there for lunch all the time. The weekend Brunch is really good. Private parties in the upstair area is also really cool.
I went to Austin for work, and the customer and I went to eat. Cover 3 was her choice. She asked if I had ever tried it, I said no, but wow, was I impressed. Great place, very friendly staff and customers in general. They had great seating outside where we were in enjoying the cool, overcast day and then we got a mimosa before we ordered(which was very good, not too strong but strong enough) then I got the 10 piece buffalo ranch wings with a side of blue cheese and ranch dip. They had a variety of different flavored wings- which were so good. If you're looking for an upscale but casual place to go in north Austin, give them a try! I will be back for sure.
Loved their Blackened Shrimp and Chicken Pasta, the sauce had a kick in it which I loved, the chicken and shrimp were cooked perfectly. My husband loved the Ruby Trout as well. The Cover 3 Salad was good too. Our server was very polite and warm. We will definitely go back to try their other dishes.
Love this place! We went for the first time after buying a voucher from Costco. We did not think much of it and had never tried Cover 3. Our first visit was incredible food was so good including appetizer and entrees and environment was very soothing and comforting. Fast forward we visited another time and were yet again blown away by this restaurant’s amazing food and service. Would definitely recommend the chili, pasta, nachos, and truffle burger. We love this place and will be our go to for now on. Definitely recommend if you are contemplating a visit, do it!
The food was great and there is a decent drink selection. I had the prime rib sandwich and the horseradish sauce didn't pack the usual punch but it was still delicious. I had the key lime pie, it was ok for a key line pie outside of Florida. The service was good and the food came out very fast.
The restaurant was easy to locate. They have a large free parking lot. There is seating inside and outside. The location is dual level. The food was freshly made and tasty. The drinks were mixed well. We went to watch a college football game. When the game started, all the TV's in the restaurant were changed so everyone could clearly see the game. The restaurant got busy but our server checked up on us regularly. The atmosphere is calming and relaxing.
- The ambience, aesthetics and food portion sizes are great. The service is great. The only problem is the food is lacking flavor. This restaurant has so much potential but lack seasoning. The dessert is absolutely delicious. we like the fried pickles, It was the only thing that had seasoning. we got chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and spinach and we also got the shrimp platter
Cover 3 - Anderson Lane: A Longtime Favorite for Food, Service, and Game Days I’ve been coming to Cover 3 on Anderson Lane since I moved to Austin in 2010, and it has remained one of my favorite spots for great food, excellent service, and a top-notch game-day experience. While some of the other locations have closed, this one continues to deliver everything that has made Cover 3 a staple in Austin. The food is consistently fantastic, with a menu that strikes the perfect balance between upscale flavors and classic comfort dishes. Whether it’s their signature burgers, the incredible chicken-fried pork chop, or their perfectly cooked steaks, every dish is thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The drink selection is equally impressive, offering craft cocktails, a solid beer selection, and a well-curated wine list. Beyond the food, I love the overall atmosphere of Cover 3. The booths are comfortable and perfect for a relaxed meal, while the dining space is well-designed, offering a mix of casual and upscale vibes. And if you’re here for the game, you’re in luck—there are plenty of TVs, ensuring you never miss a play. Whether it’s a Longhorns game or just a night out with friends, it’s always a great place to watch sports. The service has always been a strong point as well. The staff is friendly, attentive, and efficient, even on packed game days. They keep everything running smoothly, making sure you’re well taken care of without ever feeling rushed. After all these years, Cover 3 on Anderson Lane continues to be one of the best spots in Austin for great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and an unbeatable sports-watching setup. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out!
We are usually big fans of cover three. Went there today with my daughter for lunch and had my favorite fish tacos, which were excellent. The waiter had a flat effect and essentially no personality. Took our order, put our plates down when it came and never came back to our table, except to deliver us the check 30 minutes later. My water was out it was never refilled. He spent his time, flirting with the bartender for several minutes instead of tending his tables. Additionally, there was a horrific sewer odor smell, which I asked him about and he said it might be from a pipe outside, which he had left the door open going to the outside patio so the entire restaurant smells like a gas station bathroom. Absolutely disgusting to have to eat with the sewer smell permeating the restaurant.
Lunch on a Thursday. Service was good, food was meh. Had Buffalo Chicken Sliders and there was way too much Bleu Cheese on them. A little scraping and a dip in the ranch made them better. Wife had Beef Tenderloin Sliders and they were way overdone (she ordered medium). Fries were ok but were lukewarm so as I ate them they cooled to the point that they weren't good. So, overall, lunch was OK but won't be back.
We visited this restaurant last Saturday with a group of five. Even though we had already eaten dinner elsewhere, we were excited to stop by for some desserts. Maybe our mistake was mentioning that we were only planning to order one dessert at first, because from that moment the server’s attitude completely changed. Instead of welcoming us, he seemed bothered and dismissive — almost as if he assumed we wouldn’t be worth his time or his tip. Despite eventually ordering three orders of wings, three different slices of cake, and a drink, the service never improved. The server was not attentive, seemed in a hurry to rush us, and was unnecessarily rude. He didn’t bother to explain the menu and would only point with his finger without saying a word. Since we are not native English speakers, sometimes we have an accent, and he acted as if he couldn’t understand us — even when it was clear we were speaking normally. It made the whole interaction uncomfortable, and honestly, it felt disrespectful. For clarity, we are part of the LGBTQ+ community and so was the server, so it wasn’t about that. It genuinely felt like his attitude was because of our accent and his assumption that we were only getting “just one dessert.” The food and drinks were actually very good, and we appreciated the flavors and presentation. Unfortunately, the poor service overshadowed the experience. We left feeling unwelcome, which is disappointing because we truly enjoyed the menu. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback. With better customer service, this place could easily become a favorite
THIS PLACE DISCRIMINATES TOWARDS PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. My husband and I came in for lunch. He has a disability and requires a service animal. Immediately upon greeting us, the host attempted to seat us outside because of the service animal. We clearly stated that he is a service animal, which is prominently indicated in large lettering on his collar. We requested indoor seating, as is our legal right. Although we were seated inside, we were deliberately IGNORED for over 15 minutes. No server approached us. No manager came to address the situation. Instead, the host returned with an excuse that “health inspectors” were present and had an issue with the service animal being indoors. This explanation is not only unacceptable, it is legally indefensible. Why did management fail to come out and speak to us directly? Why was a host sent to relay the message instead of a manager taking responsibility? The lack of professionalism and accountability. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), privately owned businesses that serve the public ARE PROHIBITED FROM discriminating against individuals with disabilities. The ADA REQUIRES these businesses to ALLOW people with disabilities to bring their SERVICE ANIMALS into ANY areas where customers are generally permitted. There is no exception for “health inspectors.” There is no gray area. The law is clear. The behavior we experienced was discriminatory, dismissive, and unacceptable. Management and staff — including any so-called health inspectors involved — should EDUCATE themselves on ADA compliance before unlawfully denying or discouraging access to individuals with disabilities. We left because the business was not worth our time. No customer should ever be made to feel unwelcome or ignored because they exercise their legal rights under federal
