Ordered a smoked turkey and all the fixins and it turned out great. Slight issue....no gravy. Had to go buy gravy at the last minute to complete the meals.....sorry buy can't do without GRAVY

For a fast food restaurant I was really happy with the flavor and quality of the baby back ribs. They were melting in my mouth and dripping juices on to my chin. I would have it everyday if it would not kill me within the next two weeks.

Great place to eat some good ole Texas BBQ. The owner is a great guy as well and takes pride in everything he does .

Wow! What a change! Recently I’ve had the pleasure of revisiting the Waxahachie Dickies. My last visit in November was a train wreck but Sunday was amazing! I was greeted warmly and immediately felt welcomed. I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich, moist with bark (if you know you know!). The bun was so buttery and the meat! Juicy moist tender brisket with the right amount of flavor. The bark was set perfectly! Delicious! Will be back soon.

Excited about the changes made at this location! The food was fresh and hot. The sides were delicious and the atmosphere was great. Everyone was happy and eating. Highly recommend you stopping back in to this spot.

Stopped by on a roadtrip down to Austin! I’ve been to a few dickies BBQ, but this trip was the first time we were greeted personally by the GM Justin Thompson! From the moment we stepped in, we could feel the hospitality, typically reserved for a more mom and pop place, but he definitely made me and my party feel the need to enjoy the food like he personally cooked us a brisket made with Love! I’m gonna have to convince the buddies to stop on the way back home again!

We had a pickup order and was late picking it up. They offered to remake our food fresh. Meat was tender and the food was so good. Customer service was top tier💯💯💯💯💯

This is one of the best dickeys bbq that I’ve been to around the DFW area. GM Justin took the time to greet my family and I, made sure the food was good and it was better than great. I certainly will be back and as soon as possible!

I will tell you what, I have been to my fair share of Dickey's BBQ restaurants but this one was absolutely fantastic! The woman who took our order was as courteous and friendly as can be. Too often it seems to me, businesses treat us consumers as if they're doing us a favor by taking our money. Not true of this business. They make you feel welcome the moment you walk in the door. The food was cooked well and was flavorful. The employees all showed great attention to every detail and you definitely got the sense that they wanted you to be happy not satisfied but happy that you made the choice to have a meal there. If you have never been to this location then come check them out. I will also say this. If there's another BBQ place that's a little bit closer to your house, skip them and still go to this one. You'll be glad that you did! PEACE!

I usually get take out here. The ribs are just amazingly soft and delicious. For it being a chain is just simply amazing how good the food is here. Still baffled that I rarely see people eating here.

Dickey's does great with their meat, and the staff is friendly. The staff was really patient with me and my family when it was evident that our kids were a bit of a hassle. The manager even cleaned up a spill of ours very promptly and made it seem like we hadn't been any trouble at all.

Best Texas BBQ I had on my trip. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Texas. I even brought my yellow takeout cup home to Canada as a souvenir!!

If you haven't been to Dickey's Barbecue in Waxahachie lately you need to go check it out. The new GM Justin Thompson and his staff have done remarkable things and the overall experience was fantastic. Brand Standards are important and you can tell they have gone back to their roots with Dickey's family traditions The rib meat fell off the bone, the turkey was moist and tasty, the brisket was delicious. The baked potato was fresh and hot. They are updating outdated equipment and the restaurant was cleaner than I have seen it in a long time. So when your favorite BBQ joint isn't open until Wednesday go see the great folks at Dickey's. REMINDER KIDS EAT FREE ON SUNDAY.

The food was good, the restaurant was clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I kinda had my hopes up for a hot roll but they didn't have rolls. Overall, a good experience.

All of the food was very good, with the exception of the rock hard rolls. The service was fast and friendly. For some reason they had no fried okra or french fries at 6:15pm on a Wednesday.

Service was not that great today but it's Mother's Day & they were busy..but the food was good even though I got a sliced beef sandwich rather than chopped as I asked. I ate it anyway- you know how hungry you are after church.But they did give me the condiments I asked so I give them 4 stars!

This place was near our hotel. You could order online and just go pick it up. Definitley a plus and convenient. Only drawback is you may want to check your order before you leave to be sure it's correct. We did get one thing in our order wrong. All the food was delicious!

Sometimes the food is good and other times it's not. The potato meals are cold and awful. Sometimes we get what we order on line and other times we don't. I love their sandwiches since they are hard to screw up. I don't like they really don't have any coupons or special deals. The manager has always been very nice when there is a problem. Dash screwed up by saying wrong address. I went and picked up my meal, but the dash driver still got his tip!

Had Dickeys before and didn't find them enjoyable. Most of the times their meets were dry or 4hey would be out of something. However, was craving BBQ and decided to stop by since it was a actual restaurant not a gas station. Surprisingly to me it was a very good experience. All three meat I order did taste fresh and the brisket was juicy. The staff was attentive and friendly. Good job guys!!!! Great BBQ!! Will definitely return!!

The food is always consistently good. Atmosphere is nice and relaxed. I love the mac and cheese, the fried okra is awesome and the peach cobbler is wonderful! The employees are nice and courteous. The sweet tea is awesome!

Smelled good so dropped in. Brisket was terrific. Sides of Mac and cheese, beans spiked with halepeno and bbq sauce made it a hit with family. Only 4 stars this trip since we need to try the rest of the goods on the menu. Super service staff.

Manager was absolutely awesome, but he had a young lady take my Togo order who over charged me for two sausage plates and she assured me I would receive my money back after acting like she did something on the computer but I never received that money back and I didn't get the sausage I had ordered on the original plate. Was supposed to be jalapeno and I was overcharged for two plates and didn't even receive it correctly.

6/10/24: So, Dickeys, what is the recycle charge for? Why don't you tell your customers about it? How long have you been charging us this fee? 1/4/21 OMG! They have a kid male employee that doesn't even know the meanings of the abbreviations for quart (qt) or pint (pt). My cousin ordered a lot of to go items including a qt of potato salad and a qt of bbq beans. When she asked to see the contents of the order before leaving the restaurant, only had pints for both. She also ordered, after paying 110 for the order, an additional mac and cheese for 6.50. All she needed was another pint of potato salad and another pint of bbq beans...which she got neither! Then the girl charged her for something else, which we didn't get. Also, the girl said she wasn't charged for the bbq sauce. Well DA girl, most bbq places DON'T charge you for bbq sauce. My cousin asked if the male could maybe combine some items into their "family package", he never tried. And their $21 for a pound of chopped beef, isn't worth it. (The following is from 3 years ago)It's been about a month since we ate at dickey's waxahachie. Can't complain about the food or service. A couple of tables were still dirty. We take the drive from duncanville to waxahachie when we're craving dickey's bbq. My duncanville review of dickey's tells everyone to come here. I still say they won't be disappointed. 😁

It is sad when you walk into a restaurant and you find the AC is broken. It is even more heartbreaking when you find out the owners know but make their employees work in this sauna! 100degree weather in Texas & no AC

Sauce was spicy, we normally get original sauce but was not asked they just gave us sauce. The rolls were not fresh they were hard. The brisket was cute to thick and was dry. I do want to point out, This is not my normal experience at this location.

I wish I could give this restaurant 5 stars, but it always fails on our delivery orders. We pay extra to get extra pickles. We like extra in ADDITION to the pickles that supposedly come with our order. We got a total of four pickle slices — that’s it, no extra — in spite of paying for them. A minor gripe but a major irritation! Love the food, hate the lack of attention to details.

A/C is extremely not working (7-5-2024). It was toasty warm inside which pretty much ruined my entire opinion of everything. Food was ok, but take it home to eat in comfort

We went at 5:30 pm. The brisket was really good, but the potatoes and peach cobbler tasted like leftovers, reheated and not fresh that time of day.

The counter crew was very helpful. They answered my questions about an online coupon and they were friendly too. We were served accurately and quickly. The food was good.

Everyone in that store is super friendly and lovely. I had a very pleasant experience with the staff. However, the food quality was bad, the coleslaw was stale and the cabbage was browning which usually means it has been sitting there for more than a day. The meat itself was pretty dry. The mac and cheese was decent. The sauce was way too sweet compared to other bbq joints. The 3 stars are for the staff, the 2 that are missing are for the food taste/quality.

1 meat with 2 sides for $17. Here's a pic of what we got for the money. And I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip at check out. I'm sure the new owner will say they will use this experience to improve and that they hope I will try them again. Well, this was the "try them again'. I waited until this "secomd chance" before I did a review.

Super underwhelmed. Last time I brought my kids here the service was nothing special. I figured it was a fluke so we would try again. Today, the special was a pulled pork sandwich. I asked the guy behind the counter if the pulled pork was any good. His response? "Yeah, it's alright." It was mostly flavorless. Maybe that's why it's the special? Bread never came. (My favorite part) I was charged for a drink that no one ordered. I just generally felt like an inconvenience. I used to come here all the time, but this makes the second very underwhelming experience.

Had coupon they claimed couldn't use. Told them not my problem.. not my issue... It would be different if it wasn't specifically to your address..they finally took the coupon for seven wanted to charge me for two large teas because they said I had to buy two large teas.. I had to inform them not with the coupon said. I finally got you break your bones but they should have been aware of their coupon. I loved Dickies at the airport set this location I don't know if I will frequent again

We got a baked on June 21, 2021 for supper. Its wasnt that great. The baked looked liked it was leftover from the lunch run. It wasnt fresh as we would of liked for it to be. My suggestion if you are going to serve baked potatoes for your dinner run they should be fresh. If you have ones that are left from your lunch run use them and make potato salad out of them.

Rarely encounter a friendly face here, but I came today to use a coupon. I arrived at 8:15p. The drive thru sign was lit up and the hours online stated they are open until 9p. Sat at the drive thru only to be told that they are closed and they have no idea why their hours online are not correct. News to you, Dickeys, you have the ability to edit your hours as a business. Do your customers a favor and at least don't waste their time.

I love to people love the food but I swear every time I go up there the dont put all the bbq I ordered or like this last time I asked for extra toppings paid for extra toppings and got pickles and I never said anything about pickles. I honestly might not come back up here or if I do I'm going to have to check my order Infront of them inside the store. Used to go here all the time until a couple of years or so ago. The faces changed and the place just wasn’t the same. I quit going. The bbq has always been good, but the rest of the food wasn’t as good and the place was dirty Decided to try again today. Was there when the doors opened. It was obvious the place wasn’t cleaned the nite before. The ice cream machine was gross. The staff was not ready to open. The condiments were half full and if it hadn’t been for the fresh ice under the buffet I would have thought they’d been there all night. Maybe they had, I’d like to think they hadn’t. I have no complaints on the bbq and the staff was friendly.

First time to go, probably won't be back, food was not hot and/or stale when served. It was a Saturday night between 6 & 7. I thought it should've been hot & fresh. Table was dirty. Friendly atmosphere & clean ladies bathroom.

Hit and miss. I've dined in quite a few times over the years and sometimes it is pretty good. Decent meat, but the rolls are typically flat and boring. More recently our to-go order was not great. The turkey tasted reheated, almost like it wasn't even smoked. The brisket was tough. I can't say I would recommend, especially for the exorbitant price.

Establishment is old but very clean and the staff was very welcoming. It’s been at least 5 yrs since visiting a Dickey’s and I can assure you it will be another 5 the food is unforgivably bad, no flavor what so ever. I’m positive this was just thrown in some oven. No smoked flavor at all not even the smell of a BBQ establishment.

Went in today, Father’s Day for a family pack. At 12:00 they had no coleslaw , no potato salad , no okra. We come here often for family packs but probably won’t any longer!

$35 DOLLAS LATER fries wet, sandwiches wet because they fixed the order, placed it in the bag, and tied it. So I do know that it was at least hot when it was packed thanks to all the condensation inside the bag upon me opening it up. So much that my hands needed to be wiped from the wetness. Order shows completed at 437pm my pickup time given for me to choose from was 5:00pm. So my food steamed an additional 30 plus minutes in the bag. Styrofoam container for the sandwiches probably would've preserved my sandwiches. The fries bag was way worse. Fries not crunchy or firm straight soft. See the picture you can see that they're wet. Sandwich wrapper wet too. I placed the fries in the oven in hopes to be able to eat them. I live 24mins/17 miles away so to get home and discover this, I was DISSAPOINTED to say the least.

I went to the drive-thru and ordered 2 SLICED BRISKET sandwiches and okra. I repeated 3 times the order. Took it home and here is what I wasted $18.41 on. 2 CHOPPED BRISKET, I think it was Brisket, on 2, what appeared to be slider buns. Not enough meat to fill either bun. So dry,that it was a little bit crispy. We didn't finish either sandwich. The okra was very greasy. Will NOT go back and I doubt if Dickey's care ! PATHETIC!!

We were looking for local barbecue this past weekend and decided to try Dicky’s in Waxahachie. This establishment cannot be called a true Texas barbecue restaurant. First, the server was extremely rude and would not answer our questions about the freshness of the barbecue chicken which had clearly been sitting there all day long wrapped in Saran Wrap with a pinkish color. The server proceeded to slice it without using gloves contaminating the meat. He was also maskless. The chicken was diced and placed on a plate. The chicken looked bad but the server’s attitude was worse! The cutting board was dirty and not throughly cleaned before using it again. My husband wanted brisket and the brisket looked charred. Suffice it to say we left once we were served and never looked back. I would give this restaurant a negative number I would!

Disappointing service. Called in an order, drove through drive thru for pick-up. There were two cars ahead and they said “pull around”. We drove to the curb-side pick up lane. 11 min later I called to check on the order. They said, “I know we told you to pull up to the window.” So we are taking home soggy rolls and the extra ones we ordered are not in the bag. Seems they could have brought it to the car or waved us to go around again.

Baked potato was grey instead of white inside. Ribs were tough and dry. Sausage was off. Food used to be good. 3 take out orders. Nothing was fresh. Most of food went into the trash. Sad, used to really like their food.

Wonder if HEB bbq across the street will forget my potato salad, rolls and bbq sauce when I drop a $100 on a family pack. Guess I'll find out next time I get a hankerin' for good Texas bbq

Unbelievable!!! Thanksgiving and no dinner ! I phoned the restaurant d on Sunday 11/21 to confirm the restaurant would be open on Thanksgiving and was told they would be open until 5 pm. I even asked if orders had to be placed early. They stated orders could be placed on Thursday. On Thursday morning, I placed my order, paid for the order and reserved a time slot for pickup. Arrived at the restaurant on time to find it closed with a handwritten sign on the front door stating they closed early for the holiday. I understand that people want to be with their families on holidays, however, when you state you'll be open then be open! Somebody failed to realize that the options for food are very limited on Thanksgiving. While Dickie's employees were able to enjoy an unplanned holiday meal with their families, your customers who planned ahead went without a meal. Why did the ordering system accept the order, payment and schedule a pickup time? Had I known they'd closed early, I could have possibly found an alternative meal source. I really can't imagine why or how this happened. If only I could project the sinking, helpless, desperate feeling I experienced when I saw they were closed, maybe they would understand the impact if their thoughtlessness. Dickie's also owes me a refund for the meals I didn't receive!

I was so disappointed in the service I received in my delivery. It looked like my order was to be delivered by three different drivers. The driver that finally delivered my food was very nice. My order was supposed to arrive between 5:30 to 5:45 p.m. My food arrived at 6:45 p.m. I placed the order online around 2 p.m. The food was cold and dried out. I was surprising my son and his family with dinner while we watched college football together. That was a $110 wasted to me.

MISSING ITEMS, A whole rack of ribs was missing from my order and I called and they said that they couldn’t do anything about it, the most expensive item at their menu and forgot to put it in the bag.

The bbq beans look and taste exactly like the canned pork & beans.. mashed potatoes had no flavor. Really disappointed.

My daughter and I went out Sunday night and we were right there by the driveway and we decided to turn in there. I have never been so disappointed in food so much as I was when we took our order home to eat . Nothing had flavor!! Nothing was seasoned, green beans were very overcooked and had not been seasoned in any way, the Mac and Cheese was gooey, overcooked and tasted nothing like Mac and Cheese.It was very watery and was the worst flavor I had ever eaten. When we started on the Brisket it was 3 slices of very fatty meat and it tasted like roast beef not BBQ Beef not smokey, not pit flavor NOTHING!!.. Not sure what the staff does for recipes but this was the worst overpriced and I mean very overpriced meal I have ever attempted to eat. I would NEVER recommend dining here to anyone ever. Unless of course you just want to throw your money away.

First time and last time picking up food from this fast food styled bbq spot! Chop beef Bake potato to go, cuts potato open and puts the meat on top. I have to add all the condiments myself that come pre packaged In a bag, realized butter packets already opened when I get back to hotel, luckily I asked for extra but of course with extra charge. Hotel is 2 minutes from this establishment, and the butter and cheese would not melt! All in all I would seriously rather have McDonald’s McRib than to ever eat at this establishment again!

Drive through experience was awful yesterday ordered 60 dollars worth of food and none of my order was right. After waiting and a 20 minute drive home I had zero want to get back out. We have been going once a week for the last few weeks. But seriously after awhile it’s ridiculous premium prices and sub par service. Guess we will have to find another bbq joint we can in and out with.

Doors locked at 8:45 exactly on Monday night when they close at 9! Also no silverware they just scooped aides using the side cups for our sides. Were rushed due to them wanting to close up and leave in a hurry. Need to post closes at 8:30 since almost everything was put up when we arrived. We started ordering and manager told employee make sure to lock the door. It was 8:40

Staff were very rude and unpleasant to be around. They no longer give rolls like they use too and fries were freshly dropped and they were VERY burnt. Baked potato was uncooked and meat was very dry. Mac and cheese was smoking but cold and dry. Same price if not more for WAY worse quality.

This was my third time eating there sense the new owners toke it over.the new owners may not know how to run it right the food is less and they served alot of fat on my sandwich and the order of fries may had 20 fries and they removed there fresh tea 3 strikes and I am done so I hope they get themselves back on the path

Food was not to temp as it should be, food was not hot nor did it taste good at all, I will never set foot I to another Dickeys BBQ again. Nothing had flavor to it, had a bad experience with this place 5 yrs earlier, figured I would give it another try, wrong decision, I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for BBQ, worse choice you could make. Just Don't Do IT. Would give no stars but don't have that choice, so My verbal and visual rating is a NO STARS.

This was the worst BBQ and portions I have ever had. I paid $20 for a 2 meat plate of sliced brisket, sausage and two sides. They were stingy with their meat and sides nit worth $20 at all. The meat was bland and tasted like it was bolied, couldn't taste no smoke at all, the brisket had no smoke rings on it at all. I will go elsewhere for real pit smoked BBQ where I can get real pit smoked meat and more for my money or smoke it at home myself and the two measly ribs they give you on a two meat mixed plate is pathetic! Never eat here it's not real BBQ! Portions are not worth the money! Google other BBQ places before going here!! If you think this is good BBQ, then you haven't had real smoked BBQ!

The quality is severely lacking. Everything is covered in salt and the ingredients are noticeably different than before. Anything thats fried is overdone and comes out in undesirable clumps. I wish all the best to this establishment but I can't imagine it will have any success at it's current rate. It seems like a lack of pride and love is put into the service. I'll likely try again sometime on the off chance that things will be better.

If I could give 0 stars I would!! This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Dickeys. They changed owners 2 weeks ago and it wasn’t a slow decline it was completely to the bottom overnight. The staff were absolutely rude! Every single thing we ordered was inedible!! This is a Sunday and previously it would be packed out but today not one soul was in there. We will NOT be back and I encourage you to find anywhere else to eat but here.

Ordered online, when I got there at my pickup time, it took an additional 30 mins for my food. Out of bbq sauce, got home and chicken old and dry we through it away, sliced brisket was so old and most the fat, also threw away. Was hopeful for the sausage but nope it was old as well. New ownership is advised, well it’s a disgusting place. Been coming here for years, sad to see it be this bad. Staff was running around clueless while the manager was no where to be seen. 1 star for everything, except my dog enjoyed it

I was excited to try out this place, because I heard from locals that they enjoyed it and I’m from out of town. I was VERYYYYYYYYY disappointed to say the least. The service SUCKED!!!!! The only person that was great was the guy slicing the meat and the drive thru guy! I don't know if a gurl was new but she was taking FOREVER getting our sides (mind you she wasn't even doing anything. just walking back and forth behind the counter in her own world). The man slicing the meat had asked her to get my sides but the guy running the drive through went to go get my sides. FNALLY she got her act together when she realized he was doing HER job.By the time she checked me out, my food was cold except for the Mac n cheese which was the only thing I enjoyed. If the food was nice and hot then I would've gave it a 3 star rating. This place could be good but it just isn't. BUT if you do go, Don’t get the brisket!! it’s DRY and BLAND.The other sides look old and gross. Make sure to check the temperature of your food!!!!! After speaking with other locals about this place they said that There is WAYYYYYY better places for BBQ!! And I’m 100% sure there is!!

We were excited to try this place again due to the sign of new mgmt/"legit bbq" tried the bbq sandwich. It was delicious. Came back a week later and what a disappointing experience. The appearance was not the same. The color and cut of the beef was different and 3/4 of my sandwich was pure fat. Like they didn't want to unwrap a new brisket and gave me all the crap left over. I called in and Izzy said a manager would call me. No word from them so I'm obligated to post our experiences in hopes they address their employees. I was very sick later that night after eating the edible pieces of the sandwich. Will not return to this location. We visited 4/24 at 6:34 pm.

Apparently the new owners are not meeting the last owners service. We have gone three times and they don’t wrap their potatoes in foil anymore so they are not completely done. The chicken Caesar chicken salad comes in smaller sizes and you don’t get near enough chicken as the lsdt owner was a really good owner and service was great! I’m thinking I’m not going back again after three times of non caring service and smaller portions!

if I could give 0 starts I WOULD. wow. this place was awful. one guy working there was flat-out rude and very unprofessional to everyone in the store. the whole experience was negative and uncomfortable. i couldn’t believe how he was talking to people, I’m pretty sure his name was jose. it was honestly ridiculous. ill never come back to this location as long as that guy is there.

Food has gone way down hill across the board since new management..rolls seem frozen…potato not cooked throughly …okra was soggy …service was great though and that was nice…new Togo packaging was nice as well although I think putting the okra in a cup with a lid made it soggy and that it used to be in a bag and would always be crispy. Also the butter given to go was vegan and it might just be me but I want real butter

The new owner is terrible. More worried about making the management upset than fixing the food and making it better for the customers. They are about to have a re-grand opening but won't fix anything or make it better? No one wants crusty old corn or grey pasta salad...

Lousey.. Food quality has gone down hill since new management we have been here about 4 times since and each time the food has been worse(We have been going to this dickys bbq for many many years) , we asked for lean beef but got meat that was more fat than meat, the meat is ungodly salty like nothing but salty rub flavored briskit... Ribs are the same ungodly salty rub taste and nothing else.. We have given this place 4 more chances than we should have and all disappointment each time.. All in all the food is not worth the rising prices from inflation just for a mouthful of disappointment.
