The food and service was amazing. Thank you Kay for making my dad's birthday a great one!
The Experience there was magic. Love the food people and chef made our food. Great time and the money was Right.
I had the BEST experience at Benihanas!! As popular as it is I've actually never been. My husband took me here for Date Night Saturday evening and booked reservations days in advance. We get seated almost immediately and get seated with a group of children and two female adults both holding babies, I'm like those two kids look familiar?! It was my twin nephews out with my older sisters boyfriends family!! What are the odds?! LMAO 🤣 😆 🤣 we had the best night!!! 👌🏾 👌🏾👌🏾
Exceptional food and service ! Damien was wonderful very attentive and kind. We were so pleased with our experience and can’t wait to come back again and work with Damien! Also the manager Ikram deserves acknowledgment. Such a wonderful lunch. I been coming here for years and this experience exceeded our expectations! 10/10
This is our 2 nd time in this restaurant food was really fresh and delicious. Employees are very friendly and helpful Ikram took care us really well.
Order food this week and the food was a hit my children love it, the experience overall was amazing. I recommend it 100%. The manager and staff very friendly and helpful
We had a workplace holiday party and the sushi and chicken fried rice were excellent. I will definitely dine at the restaurant sometime in the near future😊
Benihana Takeout and Delivery is a wonderful service! I own a small business, Rosy’s Beauty Salon and they delivered sushi, chicken, rice with vegetables. It was a delicious! Everyone loved it! I cannot say enough what a great experience we had and I look forward to ordering again!
Food is so delicious. Our cook was very friendly. We really enjoyed our meal
Went for happy hour and everything was delicious. Had the chicken dumpling, wings, sushi and hibachi rice. Service was great and very attentive. Definitely going back with my coworkers.
I always go here with my family. I love their customer service and quality of food. Their fried rice is the best.
Food was really good. Our cook was very friendy. Ambience was very nice highly recommended
Very nice restaurant for Japanese food. We enjoyed the sushi and hibachi. Cocktails are very good. Food and employees are great.
Loved it. We decided to go for my sister's birthday. We were attended super fast right on time of our reservation. Each of us ordered a habachi special. Steak, seafood, chicken and salmon. Every dish was fantastic. Our chef in the image was great and had a great energy as compared to other chefs around and matched our excitement. Things were not perfect and some orders got confused and trust me I understand why it's a bunch of people all being cooked for and served simultaneously and they did a great job at making things better. Drinks were awesome and the Mai Tai was amazing and HUGE. Would absolutely come again. Also want to clarify some things I saw falsely reviewed. They clearly stated at the start of the meal fried rice was extra and I mean go to a place you can afford instead of complaining about being charged for rice. Also bathroom was impeccable so much in fact I used it twice.
Amazing experience. My family and I enjoyed our lunch today. The ambiance of the place is great, the service provided is outstanding we would like to thank Karen the manager for accommodating us last minute, she’s very kind and sets the mood for my whole party, I would like also to thank our server Janitta and chef ovellana for their great attentiveness for my family and I. Beautiful experience and great food. We will definitely be coming back !
By far the best restaurant ever! Now a slight warning, because this is a hibachi restaurant, it is more on the expensive side especially if you have 5 kids like I do but the food is high quality and the entertainment is amazing for us and the kids! I recommend Benihana for birthday parties, graduations and anniversaries! I love lots of things about Benihana especially the fact that they give you lots of appetizers through out the making of all meals! The chefs are highly trained and know how to entertain the customers with their large display of skill and tricks! The wife, kids and I especially enjoyed the onion volcano and the beating rice heart! The portions are amazing especially if you like to eat you will not be disappointed! Now the family and I are always craving their habachi white noodles and steak!!! I highly recommend the white noodles, steak, shrimp, corn, rice, chicken, mushrooms, beans, onions just everything they have is amazing!
Todays dinner visit was perfect. It was a fairly quiet night. The Hibachi steak and rice were flavorful. The chefs tricks were nothing special though, but overall it was a good night out
Benihana in Roslyn used to be my Mother-in-Law's favorite joint to dine out for special occasions. She passed away almost 27 years ago and yesterday was her B’day! My husband decided to invite one of his aunts for dinner, to relive happy memories together. During our conversation we realized he had made reservations at the wrong (Westbury) Location! From the moment we arrived, our server Suun's warm and friendly demeanor set the tone for the evening. Her attentiveness and jovial nature added an extra layer of joy to our time together. The Polaroid photos she took of us capturing the moment will be cherished keepsakes for years to come. Our Hibachi Chef, Eldorado, not only impressed us with his culinary skills but also entertained us throughout the meal preparation. The vegetables were well-seasoned, and the shrimp was cooked to perfection! Though the reservation mix-up led us to a different location than the one she loved, the evening turned out to be a truly special and memorable one - as we sat and talked for almost 3 hours, long after our meal was over, creating new memories and reminiscing about the past, I couldn't help but feel grateful… Thank you, Lord, for another wonderful experience!
This review is soooo long overdue. Benihana is our families core memory. We come here for every birthday. We love the chefs table program. And we love all the waiters throughout the years. We carry the great service and memories with us till we have the next birthday. Special shoutout to Hector who helped us celebrate Alex’s birthday today. Thank you for your genuine awesomeness. Tip: if your cholesterol can stand it get extra garlic butter. It’s a delicious tip we collected from a Benihana guest along the way.
I went with my mom for her birthday. We only go twice a year(my birthday and hers) because it is expensive, but how can we pass up $30 off? We love the whole hibachi grill. It's part of the reason of why we go. Our chef Santos(I think his name was) was amazing. Very different that others that we have had in the past. We both ordered Chicken Fried Rice(which is the best ever). For dessert I got the Banana Tempura. I love it so much. I also make sure we get there early enough to be able to have it because if you go too late you cannot get it. We will definitely be returning for all of our birthday's too come. You can add a lobster tail to any hibachi meal(for $15). It will be the best lobster tail ever, but you have to figure out is it worth it to spend $15 for 1 lobster tail.
I had an amazing time here it is pricey but the food is well prepared and really good. I went for their happy hour which was 4-7pm. I would definitely recommend trying their blue ocean punch bowl it great for two people and it is only $18 during happy hour at the lounge or the bar. If you sign up for the birthday rewards you get $30 off a regular food purchase. I enjoyed everything I ate from the dragon rolls to the wings. I would reccomend to come and get it out. They also have classes available for children and adults to learn how to make certain things check out their website for more details. The staff is very friendly ans attentive. I would definitely come back in the near future.
Benihana offers an immersive dining experience, seamlessly blending culinary skill with entertainment. The skilled chefs showcase their expertise on the hibachi grill, turning every meal into a delightful performance. The menu boasts a variety of flavorful Japanese dishes, from sushi to teppanyaki. Overall, Benihana delivers a unique and enjoyable combination of great food and entertainment.
The spicy tuna was super fresh with the perfect kick, and the rice was fluffy and delicious. Honestly some of the best sushi I’ve had — I’ll definitely be back!
I had one of the best experiences of my life, Chef Elliott definitely definitely made the beat tasting dish I’ve had since eating from this establishment and he presentation was amazing. And the waiter Selvin he’s the best, didn’t have to repeat my order and he went out his way to make sure everything was to my liking. I absolutely appreciate this two guys, the business needs more people like them. Period!
The food and drinks are delicious. Definitely come back. Servers are very friendly. manager Ikram is very kind and friendly. We are so happy to have dinner in this location.
Just went to Benihana's for the first time, this past Friday night! I ordered the tuna with a side of steak. So the tuna meal came with 5 free courses: soup, salad, veggies, rice , and shrimp. Everything was good but the winners were the salad - I haven't had carrot ginger ( i think that is what it was) dressing in a while and I missed it, the veggies - onions and zucchini so good! I even got a second helping and it was a lot, because someone in the other party didnt want it. They were so friendly they shared with us! The tuna was cooked to perfection and the steak with garlic butter ( strongly rec, a friend ordered it and so the chef out it on mine - yum) again perfectly yummy and tender! I had leftovers and the next day they held up and might have been even better! The veggies that came with the tuna omg - were so tasty! We are actually going back again this week!
This is the first time I've ever tried Hibachi and this place was fantastic. The food was great especially the fried rice. The chef was funny I think his name was Carlos. My server was Kay and she was very informative. Definitely would come again.
I had a wonderful experience thanks to the outstanding leadership of Mr. Dar From the moment I arrived, the service was impressively quick and organized. Mr. Dar, Dillon/Andres, and the new lady were professional, welcoming, and consistently attentive throughout my visit. Their cheerful attitudes created a warm, inviting environment that made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.
I took my daughter here for her 2nd birthday and we all had so much fun! The Chef was so engaging and cooked our food to perfection! Everyone was so polite and they even helped prepare her cake to sing happy birthday! It was an experience we won't forget! We will definitely be back for future birthdays.
I recently celebrated my birthday at Benihana with my family, and it was an amazing experience! The hibachi chefs were not only skilled but also incredibly entertaining, making the evening fun and interactive. The food was delicious—everything from the steak and shrimp to the fried rice was cooked to perfection right in front of us. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had a great time. The lively atmosphere made it a perfect spot for a special occasion. While the prices are a bit high, the experience and quality of food make it well worth it. I’d definitely come back for another celebration!
Benihana never disappoints! The food was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection right in front of us. The chef's skills and fun personality added so much entertainment to the experience. The service was attentive and efficient, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, perfect for both families and celebrations. If you’re looking for a unique dining experience with great food and service, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Been to this Benihana a few times. Don't have many complaints about it, sometimes it gets a bit crowded and service can be a little slow. Food is usually pretty good, can't say I have ever had a bad meal at any Benihana. They use good quality meats and seafood, along with their sauce and grilled right in front of you. Drinks are also pretty good.
So this was the second time coming to this place and while the first visit was years ago when I was like 21 now I am 29 and finally made a return visit. So it's like it never changed. Typical hibachi restaurant open tables and all that good stuff. The place was nic, a cool calm atmosphere. Very child friendly..We had an 815 reservation and didn't get sat till about 830 once whole tables started clearing out. Finally we got sat. We had a server who's name was John and to say the least he was kind of boring, he wasn't exciting he was like the clear eyed guy and he did the old Eggers roll trick and the heart beat... BORING. The food took forever to make so by the time he would finish one part it would be gone before the next portion of the dish was complete. But wait then came Santos, he was amazing.. he had the table right next to us and I was more into his performance than John's I mean really. I was ready to tip Santos hahaha. Oh and let's not get started on the waitress. She forgot our forks, she barely checked back on the table to refill drinks and stuff and she just was overall not too professional. Tipped her 5 bucks and called it a night. Yes I would revisit this location but no time soon
Benihana is the classic and original American Hibachi restaurant. When someone mentions Hibachi usually Benihana follows soon afterwards. This location is all by itself in its shopping center as bed bath and beyond closed its doors. I miss the pictures they had of Rocky with all the celebrities who have visited Benihana over the years. Came in with a birthday coupon and had a good meal. The steak had lots of fatty pieces which I haven’t seen at Benihana before maybe I got a bad batch? For the prices I better be leaving full and thankfully I was.
Price:$$ Parking: Shopping mall. Plenty of parking. Customer Service:5 stars Food:4 stars This place is huge. Plenty of hibachi grills. Be sure to be prepared to wait. 15 minutes to be seated. 20 mins for drinks and to place order. Another 20 minutes for cook to come out. 45 min for a family 8 for fully cooked meals. Chef was pleasant. The food was pretty good. There are other mom and pop shops that provide better food. This place is good for a first timer. Plenty of items you can order from.
Had a good time at Benihana—overall, a solid experience. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the chef’s performance at the table added a nice touch of entertainment to the meal. The food was okay—fresh and nicely presented, but nothing that really wowed me flavor-wise. Definitely enjoyable, but I’ve had similar for less. The drinks were a bit pricey for what they were, which took a little away from the value of the night. Still, the service was friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe made for a fun outing. Would return for the experience, especially with a group!
The chef was funny!! The food was okay, we had the basic chicken and shrimp with rice. The drinks were good, try their signature drink! Overall good experience at the hibachi table. P.S. our server was busy and kept forgetting things we asked for...we had to ask for water, why though?
The food was pretty good, but nothing to write home about, overall a nice presentation, but was definitely missing that eye opening explosion of flavor that keeps you coming back. The chef's performance added a nice touch of entertainment to the meal, and definitely worth the price of admission. The entire staff were both friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe made for a fun outing. We will return for the experience, especially when we have people visiting from out of town.
I went with my parents and we enjoyed ourselves. I've definitely had better hibachi food for less and better customer service but the food was good. Very well seasoned. Wasn't a fan of the chilli shrimp sushi, the dressing on the salad was acidic. The strawberry lemonade was a great choice. Not sure if I'd go again but I'd recommend going at least once to test it out for yourself.

We visited Benihana today to celebrate my son’s sixth birthday. From the moment we were seated, our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the rude and unprofessional behavior of our waiter. Right away, he began cursing at a coworker within earshot of our kids, saying loudly: “Bro, put these chairs in — this is the third time I almost busted my ass today. You gotta do better.” He then proceeded to take our orders which he was dragging his feet to do so . We chose to ignore this and just waited for our food. Thankfully, our chef, Alberto, was a bright spot in our night. He was warm, funny, and made the experience special for my son and our family. We were so impressed with him that my husband tipped him personally as a thank you for going above and beyond. Shockingly, while we were mid-meal, the same waiter came over to our table and said, “Don’t do that next time. You don’t have to tip because I pay him at the end of the night.” The tone was rude and completely uncalled for — especially while we were eating with our family. That one employee’s attitude left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected during what should’ve been a joyful celebration. It’s unfortunate because Alberto truly gave us a great experience, but the waiter’s behavior made our overall visit disappointing.
50$?!? For short of a full chicken breast piece. The portion of chicken I received was disappointing (pictured above), with just small pieces mixed into the fried rice. When I asked our waiter, Sabbir, about substitutions—like extra rice, chicken, or noodles—since I didn’t want the vegetables or shrimp app, he was dismissive and unhelpful, making no effort to accommodate my request. On the positive side, our chef Francisco was kind, accommodating, and provided a great table-side show. However, the food itself didn’t measure up. The chicken lacked flavor and desperately needed sauce, and the fried rice was underwhelming. Unfortunately, I left the restaurant still hungry and unimpressed. Overall, the experience felt mediocre at best.
The food was just ok... fried rice was dry, chicken was overcooked, and steak was bland. The chef was nice but not very entertaining. His 'theatrics'were a dud and not very successful. The waitress was initially not attention but warmed up towards the end of the night. Probably won't be back.
The Chef wasn't good this time. Usually there is a bit of a show by the chef. He didn't give one. There was just 2 of us this time. No other people at the table. However, there was a time where my friend and I where it just the 2 of us and we got a show and a conversation which was nice. It was basicly 5 minutes this time and he didn't put any spices or anything in it .it was dry. My friend just didn't want the dipping sauces. Don't get me wrong , as I mentioned earlier we have been there before and do intend to come back. If was a first timer I don't know what may have been. And about the rating. But hopefully not with this Chef. We were there @ 2 on Dec. 30TH
Go early otherwise your in for a long wait. The hibachi and sushi are great. However our service was terrible saw our waitress to take our order and didn't see her again until she brought the bill couldn't get our drinks refilled to save our lives. Literally had to get up from the table to hunt down the manager. And then only half the table got their drinks refilled... my advice avoid busy times. As we were walking out overheard it was almost a 2 hr wait
It took a while for the chef to come out and get started, and there wasn’t much of a table show or interaction once things began. I was pretty disappointed, especially since I brought my aunt here for her birthday and was hoping for something more engaging. The Chili Shrimp Sushi was definitely the highlight but overall, the experience just didn’t live up to expectations. Maybe things are different at the city location, but I won’t be retuning here.
my friend's seltzer tasted like egg, straight up egg (not even exaggerating).. how do you mess up a plain seltzer? Overall, the food was okay- no complaints there. Lastly, one of the workers was spot…

We had reservations and had a party of 16. We get there and they sat my party down at a table where we could barely move when we eat so I asked to move and the manager said the other table is for two cooks. He finally moved our table after complaining. Then we were waiting for 1 hr to even get orders for drinks. Then another hr to even place our orders so by then the manager comes to say he's gonna waive us from paying for our appetizers since we waited so long. SOUNDED GOOD!! We then waited another hr just to place our order for food. Then the cooks didn't come to another 1. Then after it all the appetizers ended up having to be paid for. The server told my group we had to pay. That was my first time but my son likes eating there and it was his and my mom's birthday so went went but the service was extremely poor and for the prices they charge i won't be back there again. They weren't prepared for my group and reservations were done in advance.
service was VERY slow. had a reservation for 9:30pm. didn’t get food until 10:30. cook didn’t offer spicy mayo to me like he did everyone else. very very COLD. not even the fire from the grill made it warm. probably the worse behinana
Wow. Just wow. I expected a place like this to be busy on a Saturday night of course, but understaffed is an understatement. We had 6:30 reservations and were sat within 15 minutes and given soup before we ordered or did anything. That being said, it would be another hour before anyone started cooking the hibachi, which was the slowest experience I've had so far when compared to other local Hibachi experiences. Also, not authentic hibachi anymore, in flavor profile, nor in the food itself (there was roasted corn as a hibachi side). The food was good enough , just short of traditional. The food runner/server was very apologetic and as attentive as he could be, so they are blessed to have SOME decent staff, but It's a very disappointing experience that could be better spent elsewhere, save yourself some time.
I came here yesterday with my bro , nephew and my cousin yesterday night . We came to this Benihana at 8pm . The waiter was cool with us . Every thing became weird after we were giving our drinks , salad and soup . It’s crazy it was a long wait just for a chef to come to the grill and cook our order . It took over a hour for a chef to come . Plus the chef didn’t have any type of enthusiasm . When my brother was talking to him , he didn’t respond he act as if he couldn’t speak English . Also we ask the waiter if we could speak to the manager due to the long wait . We asked if we could get a discount and the manager seem like he was not trying to . We got 20% off of our order . Plus we were giving wings free of charge . If we didn’t speak I doubt that we would have got anything from them . I dis like this location.

I’m still trying to say this nicely, over priced horrible food, no care, no attention. I ordered your 3 course $39:00 menu, plus drinks. Soup was tasteless, hibachi prawns I could of taken one breathe to eat them (look at the picture) size of my little finger, steak was overcooked (I asked for medium rare) got medium to well done with onion and zucchini swimming around the plate. Picture shows what you call an entree this is so wrong! You can’t be serious serving this and expecting people to pay these prices or pay at all, my first and last time going to any Benihana restaurant!
If patience is a virtue, then Benihana Westbury tried to make me a saint tonight. Placed a simple order at 5:50 pm: chicken fried rice and a shrimp tempura roll. At 6:40 pm, I was still food-less. At 6:41, my sushi finally arrived—apparently the rice was still on an epic journey of self-discovery in the kitchen. When I asked for a manager, a man named Danny strolled over and casually said he’d been on the phone (for 15+ minutes!) “with his boss” and asked if that was “alright with me.” Spoiler: it wasn’t. When he finally checked, the front desk staff had no clue where the rice was—someone even suggested I canceled (I hadn’t… until I realized nobody could tell me if rice actually existed in this building). The whole team seemed allergic to accountability. The only time they cared was when I asked for a refund. Pro tip: if you ever order here, don’t pay until the food is physically in your hands. Otherwise, you might end up like me—hungry, annoyed, and writing a terrible review instead of eating dinner. And here’s the kicker finally got my food at 650 pm and the manager asked me to wait another moment while he went in the back to get me a free appetizer coupon umm sir I won’t be back. Now I see why there are only two Benihanas left on Long Island. Sincerely sad and disappointed customer
I just spent $15 on a chicken hibachi bowl for lunch and basically just spent $15 on a bowl of rice. Literally next to no chicken in this bowl. They have the audacity to charge $2 more for “extra” chicken, so $2 more for a sufficient amount of chicken?? Complete waste of money and I won’t be ordering from here again.
When ordering online, they no longer take orders in the store. You have to order on their website where their rates are substantially higher than the menu. Beware if you wanna order order in person at the store, but don’t do it online. I was gonna cut you a lot more. I’m a long time Benihana customer and I will never go back again for them. Ripping me off.
I'm completely disappointed and dissatisfied. I had orders which hd barely had any meat, and the rest was just fat. The sushi orders tasted like the sushi you would get from any local supermarket. I have waited more than an hour and a half for them to complete my order. I have spent about $200, so it is definitely not worth it. I do not recommend this place. Never again.
This branch has severe sanitary issue. I had severe diarrhea from just drinking their fruit drinks and sodas alone. Be very careful.
We had reservations for 8:30pm on Mother’s Day. Party of 8. When we checked in they said they’ll seat us momentarily 1 hour & 30 minutes isn’t momentarily. In total we were at this restaurant for OVER 3 hours on a Sunday night past closing. It didn’t make a difference if you had a reservation because they were also taking walk- ins prior to you. So many people ended up leaving without service which pushed up our time to be seated (wasn’t until 9:30ish).. If they know it’s such a busy day they shouldn’t have accepted walk- ins . Besides that point the service was completely terrible and with a party of 8 you will get charged an automatic gratitude of 20% which is a lot of money for terrible service. They took our drink orders & it took another 30 mins. They came back with the drinks & didn’t bring my mom’s beverage!!! It’s Mother’s Day and my mom has NO BEVERAGE , not even water! I informed 3 different workers about this and it took another 30 minutes in order for her to get a drink. Within that time period they gave us the soup / salad & she still has NO DRINK. After she finally received it we realized that we were waiting for OVER 45 minutes for them to come back to prepare the food. At this point it’s soo late I don’t even know why we stayed. It seemed like there was a shortage on hibachi chefs. The chef mixed up the food orders so we got some of the wrong food, he looked overworked and tired at this point in the night, there was barely any entertainment after all the waiting we did. At this point we wanted to just go. It’s past 11 pm now. we get the bill $620. 4 / 8 got chicken hibachi for $36.40 EACH & apparently fried rice doesn’t come with the hibachi entrées?? It’s put on as an EXTRA cost on the bill for $6.40 for EACH person. We spent almost $50 on rice for 7 people (one person didn’t get rice).I thought that rice was included with a chicken hibachi entree but it surely WASN’T! At the end of the day, I’m just upset at the poor service and the quality of the food. The price didn’t match the service received. The service is really below average compared to other hibachi places in surrounding areas, I had to hound down the employees for the check & boxes after being there for so long. I just feel like it was such a waste of money I should’ve just given my mom the money as a gift instead of loosing it here! Please do better benihana’s.
Don’t even waste your time coming here service was horrible made reserv For 10:00 didn’t get seated for 15 minutes and then had to wait 40 minutes before drinks even came to the table … waitress was inconsistent… didn’t come see if everything was okay … food came and was dry and burnt and that was the portion of chicken I got with my chicken fried rice. I will never be coming back here.
First off we waited way to long for our food and drinks! Then my chicken was tuff and and looked undercooked towards to bone. Then we had to get the manager to separate our bills cuz the waiter wouldn't. It was my first time there and I was soooo disappointed it wasn't what I expected and I won't be going back.
Save the trip they will tell you 1 hr wait for 2 but make it 2.5/3 hours long. Female hostess was not friendly she was passive aggressive and not compassionate. I saw 3 parties that complained of bad service, didn’t get a waiter to pick up bill, and terrible wait even with reservation. They need a better system.
We came as a party of 14 with an 8 pm reservation and didn’t get seated until 9:20. We had drinks at the bar while we waited for over an hour to be seated. From the start, it was disorganized. After finally getting our drinks and appetizers at the table, we waited another hour for the chef to arrive. When he did, there was no “Benihana experience” at all. No show, no fun, no energy. When the food finally came out, things got worse. Some people didn’t get what they ordered, for example lobster or their second protein. Others only got part of their meal. When we asked about it, the chef blamed the waiter, and the manager was completely dismissive when we tried to address it. We decided to leave because of how poorly we were treated, only to find the bill still included food we never received. To top it off, the bartender implied we hadn’t paid, even though we did and even left a large tip. Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. I do not recommend having a large event here.
Our experience was disappointing due to our waitress, Ying. After we had already tipped both her and the cook generously, she told us we had to leave a specific additional amount for the tip. Being told what we must tip a certain amount is inappropriate and unprofessional, especially after already tipping well. This interaction left a bad impression.
Waited over 1.5 hours for them to bring our drinks. After 2 hours finally the chef came out. After voicing our concern to the manager, they said the manager left already and if you don’t like the food you can wait for another hour and we make the food again. Extremely rude management. Do not come to this location. Very bad service and they don’t care. I used to be a usual here and no longer. Writing a letter to corporate as well.
We have gone to this Benihana location every year for the past 6 years on my daughter’s birthday and will never return. We had dinner there last night and the entire experience was terrible. Our waiter was tasked with multiple tables which meant he was constantly running around trying to catch up to every request. A simple request would take 10-15 minutes and two reminders. Our cook was Jesus who had absolutely no energy and spoke in a very low tone. He attempted to try the show but couldn’t get any of the usual tricks to work. At this point he just gave up and decided to not do the show but cook us bland food with little to no seasoning. We thought maybe we weren’t getting a show due to the day of the week but it was Friday. Jesus wrapped up his show and left with saying anything and after dropping $400 on dinner we couldn’t be happier. Never again.
Went there tonight with 5 people. It wasn't very busy. Got notified via text table was ready walked in and had to wait another 10 minutes. Service was horrible had Nancy as the server. Had to ask several times for our drinks we ordered and also forgot about the appetizer. Wasn't until I asked when the chef came to cook our dinner where the apps were. She was more worried about taking stuff off the table then serving or asking if we needed anything else. Took chopsticks off my daughter's plate that she was using and gave her kids chopsticks. We didnt even ask for them just did it on her own and took the others. The meats were over cooked. All the chicken was really dry. Only way to eat it was submerging in the sauces. For $400 This place has gone downhill. Will not return to this location.
Don’t waste your time. 7:15 reservation and still waiting for the table at 8pm. Completely unorganized and unprofessional. They don’t know how to properly run a restaurant. Don’t allow reservations if you can’t control handle them.
I went to Benihana Friday October 17th, 2025. I ordered the Hibachi chicken and shrimp, but I wanted it with fried rice. The waiter asked if I wanted chicken in my fried rice, I told him no I just want plain fried rice. He told me that it's extra for fried rice, I've been to Benihana several times and there was never an extra fee for fried rice. So we asked to speak to a manager but he wasn't very helpful and pretty much said he's been there for 2 months and since he's been working there, it's always been an extra fee for fried rice. They bought out the soup which was barely warm and the salad had no dressing. It had water at the bottom of the bowl. And the utensils were dirty. When they brought out the food it looked like they just threw the food on the plate. The presentation was horrible. When we got the check they charged us for a drink we never received. I was looking forward to going to Benihana's cause I haven't been in about 4 or 5 years. But it's safe to say I will never go back to the location in Westbury, NY. There are other Hibachi restaurants out there that's better.
Despite having a 7:00 PM reservation, our experience was a series of service failures. We were seated quickly, but then ignored for 40 minutes. During this wait, a staff member dropped sauces that splashed onto my coat and shoes. When a server finally acknowledged us, it took another 15 minutes just to receive water, with the excuse that the bar was "running late." By the time we had drinks, we had been seated for over an hour, yet we watched tables seated after us receive prompt service. When I spoke to the General Manager, Ikram Dar, he was dismissive, stating that because it was Christmas and other places were closed, an hour-long wait for water was "normal." I do not recommend this establishment if you expect professional management or basic service standards. I will be returning to Fogo de Chão next year for a holiday meal actually worth the celebration.
I would give zero stars if I could. My fiancé and I made a reservation on Open Table for 6:45pm on Valentine’s Day. We were there on time and checked in at the front. We literally waited for an hour and thirty minutes continuing to go to the hostess stand for them to tell us that they have not called us yet, and that they would call our names. They did not give us an estimate and I felt like they dismissed our concerns. Finally, I went back up to the hostess stand for them to tell me that they called our names and no one responded and proceeded to offer to add our names back to the list. Very unprofessional and quite frankly unacceptable. Would not recommend. Waste of time.
Do yourselves a favor and save the trip and save your money. First time here was the last time here and I can’t give lower than one star. I could start with the manager who has a problem giving someone his name when issues arise. That ordering their “6 course” meal constitutes for three courses. Barely got any vegetables, the soup came at the end of the meal, the salad was nonexistent. Not that I was terribly upset but the dessert was also nonexistent. Do not advertise and charge someone for something when you’re not gonna provide what your advertising. Our waiter totally dropped the ball had to return to the bar at least three separate times to request a drink that talk Probably 45 minutes to get to the table. I could see if the restaurant was totally packed but it really wasn’t. I think the favorite part of my visit was going to use the bathroom and walking into fecal matter all over the floor. There was no posted sign that the bathroom was out of order. Same thing occurred in the men’s room, I was too disgusted to even sit down and eat anything else and when I got up to leave I had to make my way around hoses and Lauren‘s that were being run from the Roto-Rooter truck that was almost blocking the front door. That’s no mistake if your restaurant was up to code and having proper inspections and being properly maintained you wouldn’t be cleaning that it was a mistake that your bathroom is backed up because that’s just being plain ignorant. I will never walk back into another Benihana’s for the rest of my days I was so utterly disgusted and disturbed there is nothing anyone could say or do to convince me to ever try again. So diners beware, there are a ton of hibachi places out there go anywhere else stay out of Benihana New Update It’s great to know that your manager lied to the department of health . There was no overflow in the sink there was fecal matter all over the floor. If the problem was that some kids stuffed up your sink then how did myself everyone in my party and your employees wash their hands? The manager Danny a.k.a. Anthony, not wanting to tell someone his real name obviously I now know why because you can’t hold up to the fact that you made a huge error with not having decent sanitary clean restrooms. But I understand all it’s about is covering up all the garbage that’s done, LYING to the public health authorities. The sink were not the problem, your poor management and obvious lack to care to maintain your facilities really shows what this company is about. I guess sinks now emit fecal water around the toilet bowl.
The service was slow, they got our order wrong 3 times. In terms of food, beyond putting soy sauce and butter, there was no seasoning which made the food pretty tasteless. Particularly considering the high price, I would not return or recommend it.
I’ve been to multiple Benihana locations across the US and I’ve never seen a location as unprofessional and disgusting as this one. I wasn’t able to be serviced when they opened because they weren’t “ready” and still cleaning. It was water all over the floor. I wasn’t welcomed when I first walked in, and I had to find the host. Once I found her, she told me I had to wait until they were done setting up. Keep in mind, they were open for business. After 10 mins, I was finally able to get a bar seat. I was told by the bartender that my food can take a while to come out because again, they were still setting up. I ended up canceling my food order. This place is disgusting and clearly management is not doing a good job. I will say the bartender was nice but that’s it. I’m highly upset because I caught an Uber here and I had to find another place to eat.
If I can give a negative review I would. I had a 6:30 reservation arrived on time and waited over 30 mins before I was called. Whats the point of having a reservation if your not going to honor it. Ended up sitting in the bar area to eat. We got apps 45 min later. 1.5 hrs later we left w/o getting our food. Waitress was nice not her fault the kitchen could not keep up with overbooking on management's part. There walking around calling people once, saying last call. Now I remember why we stopped coming here. If you looking for Hibachi go to FYHRE in carle place or Izumi in Levittown.
Had a 7:00 reservation. They didnt have a guess how long we would wait. At 8:00, still not called and people there after us started getting seated, we asked the host and he said we were next and we left. I would recommend not giving out so many reservations if they mean absolutely nothing. Saw numerous other people complaining about not getting seated and other people left too. Not going back! Going to FYHRE next time!
Its basically the waffle house of Asian bistro. Had a 7:45 reservation and wasn't seated till close to 8:30. Food was ok but horribly overpriced. When cooking... a certain family didn't want beef cooked on the same grill as their food so anyone who ordered steak had to wait till all their food was cooked. Didn't start eating till most of the table was already done. Will NEVER go back there again.
I had a reservation for a party of 8 on January 24th for a team gathering and the experience was beyond disappointing. Before arriving, I called to confirm the 6-course meal that includes dessert (I dined here on Jan 16th and dessert was included), but the manager I spoke to was extremely rude, insisted it didn’t exist, and basically told me “just order what you ordered before” instead of actually looking into it. When we arrived, the restaurant was quiet but service was still painfully slow. We waited almost 40 minutes for a server to even greet us, then another long delay before food started coming out. We were told a cook wasn’t available, and the entire dinner felt unorganized. The chef was polite but seemed exhausted and disengaged, and the food was bland and under-seasoned. Portions were also inconsistent some people got much more food than others. The whole meal felt rushed and low quality. I also placed a takeout order at the same time as our table order, but when it was time to get it, I was told the kitchen was closed. After waiting almost 30 more minutes, it finally came out missing items (no wasabi, no ginger, no jalapeño). I was told that was “the best they could do” because everything was already closed up. We spent more time waiting than eating, and for the price, this was unacceptable. If service and quality drop after a certain hour, they should close earlier instead of charging full price for half the experience. Very disappointed I won’t be returning anytime soon.
Benihana is known for a certain level of showmanship & quality but this was terrible! We were a party of 13 and we got our own table which was great. It was half kids, so we assumed we would be getting a great show. Instead, we got a quiet display of cooking in front of us. Not even a word was spoken, no throwing of the shrimp, making the volcano, nothing. I don’t think the chef spoke English, which was fine but at least attempt a smile - something! It was almost like it was his first night and he was super timid. The food was fine, (mid at best) but not worth the steep prices and the mixed drinks were actually terrible. I should have stuck with beer. We also never got any waters until the very end when we had to ask multiple times. It was super disappointing and we will never be returning.
The worst experience ever. Was completely rushed out. All parties took their food to go. No engagement whatsoever. When speaking to the manager in regards to the urgency to leave after dining for less than 30 minutes, he mentioned that we would have to pay an additional $50 each to dine for more than 30 minutes and that’s with drinks and dessert included. Never ever going back to this establishment.
To say that I’m disappointed is an understatement. I ordered via DoorDash, which seems to be pretty straight forward 5 course meal- as advertised. When I opened the bag, I was shocked. Dry cold food, half the items missing. I called immediately, told I’d be refunded for the missing items. Never heard anything from the restaurant. Filed via DoorDash, credited $11. Total waste of $40. Definitely won’t be frequenting this location again.
The food was just “ok,” but the prices are way too high. The front entrance desk was very friendly, and the three young hosts/hostesses were the only pleasant part of the experience. However, I’ve been a loyal customer for years, and I’ve noticed a significant decline in both the morale and the service. We ordered sushi, chicken, and steak hibachi. The prices were overpriced, and the menu didn’t clearly state the prices. The server, an older Asian lady, seemed unhappy to be there. The hibachi chef had no personality, and the cooking experience was not enjoyable. Unfortunately, this has become the norm. You need new staff and lower prices!
This location is not only outdated ( which I don’t expect them to have much control over ) BUT so unkept / unclean and that they can control . I normally visit the Manhasset location and always had a great experience so decided to come here early December while in the Westbury area . The food was very basic here and the chef looks almost like he didn’t like being there . The server was okay but I quickly noticed that my wine glass was stained terribly and told him and he tells me “he rinsed it with cold water” so same glass ? Same wine ? I then decided I’d just eat eat and go ! Behind me was a dirty broom dustpan and broken down heater on the wall . You can tell this place is falling apart and it has zero TLC . This is no cheap experience by any means and no one should be subjected to this truly . I noticed a manager or 2 I think standing like guards in the dining area but never once walking around . I reached out to “Benihana cares “ before anyone replies to do that .
HORRIBLE. Have been a customer for over 10 years. Recently got take out (spicy chicken hibachi with fried rice). Picture posted. They barely gave me any chicken, and NO rice at all. I live 30 minutes away. I picked this up on a Friday afternoon- I was not driving back that day. I contacted customer service right away because you cannot call restaurant directly and they created a ticket and said i would get a credit/giftcard when I hear back from the manager in 24 hours. Never heard anything. Stopped in 3 days later after no response to get a giftcard or my cash back. The person there told me I had to take a meal right then or sometime that day otherwise I wouldn’t get anything. He said they don’t give giftcards and they don’t carry cash to issue a refund. (Confused about this because i paid cash) I was having a procedure done so there wasn’t a way for me to take the food that day. Sad this is how they treat their customers. Reporting it to corporate and BBB. Unacceptable
I came here for my birthday, and it was the worst dining experience ever. We waited 40 minutes to be seated and another 40 minutes for the chef to arrive. The restaurant was freezing, and we sat there cold and hungry. The service went downhill from there. My appetizer was mixed up with another guest’s, my drink was wrong, and the food was just okay. When we tried to place a takeout order, the server told us to wait until the chef came, then completely messed it up, which would have meant waiting another 30 minutes after we were ready to leave. To top it off, my salad didn’t come out until the very end of the meal. The manager offered no apology or solution, only excuses. And even though the server asked if there was a birthday he was informed that it was mine, there was no recognition or birthday song at all. When I mentioned it later, he denied ever knowing. This place was unprofessional, unorganized, and a complete disappointment. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Came in, got charged $120 for two people with drinks. After I came to the counter, Manager was called explained there is an “upcharge” since the rice that comes with the meal is steamed rice. Then she says that the rice is charged full price for dinner which made no sense.. But why was I charged for an additional full serving of rice when I didn’t even received the steamed rice included in the order? I would understand if I got two servings of rice. But I only received once which would make sense for the upcharge, NOT the extra charge for an order. Not to mention, I wasn’t even informed of the upcharge when I placed the order. I’ve been to Benihana multiple times and never had this issue but I will never come back to this branch. The server was kind and accommodating, but the business itself trying to make extra $$ off customers is not okay.
