Main & Mill Oyster Bar & Tavern

We stopped in here for our first time. The place was packed and we ended up getting a seat at the bar, which was fine with us. All the staff was very friendly and stayed on top of everything. Music was great and so was the food.

Nice atmosphere for a date night. Food was amazing. Chelsea J was the best hostess ever. She made my first time very nice she answered all my questions. We will definitely be returning!

The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly at a medium rare. All the staff were very friendly. Update: ate there again last night and had the pork chop which was delicious!

We went Tuesday and Wednesday! It was sooooo GOOD! Chelsea is the bomb.com! Very friendly, funny, and attentive!

The food presentation was beautiful. I had butt (pork cubes- barbecued) and brussel (sprouts) with a glaze, served on grits. Very filling. I had to try the clam chowder. It was so creamy and delicious.

The steak was amazing on 10/25/2025 I dont know who was cooking, but that medium rare steak was to die for!

Everything was absolutely fantastic. Our server, Kathleen, was incredibly attentive and polite, and was accommodating and patient with my 96 year old grandmother. The Raw Oyster appetizer was fresh, the Crab Cakes were perfectly balanced and fluffy, and The Mill Burger was exceptional. The matriarch enjoyed her Fried Oysters as well! 10/10, would recommend.

First visit was good and I want to try a few of the dishes. The pork belly and brussels on top of parmesan grits should be a meal, appetizer was great. The peel and eat shrimp were seasoned well and the main Chesapeake oysters were excellent. We had steamed and baked with crab dip!!

Headed in from Raleigh this evening and stopped by Main & Mill. Wonderful restaurant with very courteous staff. We had Crab cake sandwichs, peel and eat shrimp, clam chowder, oysters, sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese. Absolutely delicious. If you have a chance stop by early, reservations go quick.

Recommended and it did not dissapoint. Excellent food and service. From the watermelon salad to the tuna dish, salmon dish, and even the cheeseburger!!! The sangria was great and the ambiance was superb and different in this area. I highly recommend to anyone looking for good food and a very nice place to spend time with family and friends

Delicious! I had the flounder and my husband had the salmon. The sauce on my flounder was a little rich, but it was still great. We had the pork shoulder and crab dip apps and they were both amazing.

Our experience was very good! We have been coming here for a while and some times it’s a miss, but very rare! Most recently the staff has had a boost in quality, service, knowledgeability, and attentiveness. I say this all the way from the oyster preparers bar to the hostess staff, and mostly the waiters! Ezekiel is awesome and knows his stuff about the menu options, able to answer every question with good relatable feedback. You’ve got our business, just keep doing what you’re doing! Easily the top spot around Greenville. Top notch service, amazing ambiance, fantastic food. Make a reservation way in advance. Hours a bit strange, but an absolute must. Something for everyone on the menu. Fair prices.

One of my absolute favorites in the area. Top tier staff paired with an amazing menu is hard to find these days. From date nights to solo bar dining you will not have a bad experience.

LOVE Main & Mill Oyster Bar!!! The food is AMAZING. My husband and I have lived several places over the years and always have to find “our spot” and Main & Mill is it. Hubby gets oysters and gives them high marks (I’m not a fan of oysters, wherever I’ve tried them) The whole menu is must try though. I always get the special of the week, which never disappoints. Bartenders are knowledgeable and can mix a fantastic cocktail. And don’t forget dessert… key lime pie is divine (though we do have to get it to go for later 😋)

While visiting our daughter in ECU, we came across this jem.. so good we went back the second night. The food, the service, all very good. All I can say is, you won't be disappointed and this is coming from a NYC family..

AMAZING, everything I wanted and then some! We celebrated my fiancés birthday last night and let’s just say we want to make this place a birthday tradition! The lighting was perfect, the vibe was set, genuinely one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time!

Delicious dinner-- highly recommend the spinach salad with salmon and berry vinaigrette, Brussel sprout appetizer and peel and eat (jumbo) shrimp. Great service and high quality food and drinks. Thanks and we'll be back! Did return a week later and enjoyed another delicious meal! Staff are all friendly and accommodating. High quality food and beverages. Will make this a regular stop when in the Greenville, NC area. Keep up the excellence Main&Mill!

By far one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The oysters, drinks and all menu choices will keep you coming back for more. Over time I have tried nearly everything on the menu. The owner is a super nice guy who actually cares about his customers satisfaction. Hard to find that these days.

My boyfriend and I took a last minute trip out of town on a Friday evening. As we were passing through, I suggested to stop here for dinner. We did not have a reservation so I suggested stopping in, maybe seeing if the bar was available. The hostess and manager greeted us and asked if we had reservations. We told them we did not and asked about the bar. The manager checked and told us it was full and quickly found us a table! The food, atmosphere and accommodations were excellent! If we did not live two hours away, we would frequently visit but we do plan on stopping in every time we travel this way!

As usual Main & Mill didn't disappoint us. The clam chowder is simply outstanding. It's equal to what you find in Boston. The menu has good seafood and excellent variety. The wine list is very good and the bartender knows cocktails. Our server, Jordan, did an outstanding job. He was very attentive and professional. The atmosphere is as good as they can do with an old downtown building. We highly recommend Main and Mill.

Food was really good! We got the steamed oysters, fried shrimp, scallop linguine, and the Ribeye/mac&cheese. Quality meat and seafood. Mac and cheese is awesome! Only downside is presentation of the steamed oysters, they were served in a bowl and not in the shell which was a bit odd.

This is a beautiful space for a restaurant. I assume the low lighting is to help build the ambiance however, it could be a little brighter and not take away from the feel imo. Our server was amazing. She made recommendations when I asked. She was attentive and friendly. Our food and drinks came out quick and were brought by other people who were also very friendly. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The apps I ordered were good and the presentation was very pretty. Alot of things just seemed to be lacking opportunities for flavor. For example one of the apps I ordered was pork belly cubes and roasted brussels sprouts over a bed of grits. The sprouts were perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious but the pork belly although it was very moist and seemed to be cooked well, had no flavor. I loved the consistency of the grits but they also had no flavor. The fried green tomatoes looked great and the sauce was delicious but the actual fried tomatoes had no distinguishable flavor. The baked mac and cheese looked amazing on the surface but was also bland. It also has a layer of what I assume was butter at the bottom of the dish. It wasn't creamy like I expected and it had no flavor other than the layer of cheese on top. There was no trace of seasoning, not even salt and pepper. The one thing that I absolutely have no flavor complaints about was my burger. The patty was perfectly seasoned, moist and absolutely delicious! It's the best burger I've had in a long time. My husband said his shrimp and grits were good but he felt like something was off with the grits. They looked the same as the grits in the pork belly appetizer but the consistency of some of it was off, it wasn't the same throughout the dish but it tasted good in his opinion. He also loved his drink. I didn't fully read the description of mine before ordering. My drink was good but the thick layer of egg white foam/froth on top was too much for me. It would have been better with less, and I ended up just leaving some in the glass after I finished the actual liquid of the drink. Overall I think it's a great place to try especially if you have a more mellow palate and appreciate milder flavors. I will give it another try because there were alot of drinks, apps and entrees that sounded promising like the pork chop. It also seems like a great place to meet for drinks and apps just don't come in a large group. They don't seat groups greater than 8 people per a note on their door. Great service is hard to find at restaurants now a days so I always return to the ones that provide exceptional service even if I don't think the food is.

This was our first visit to Main & Mill. We were able to get a seat without waiting at 7:30 on a Saturday night. Our waiter was Nathaniel and he did an excellent job during our visit. I had the Main & Mill burger with egg and my wife had the special that night. My burger came out a little under what I ordered and even though I had eaten a 1/3 of it Nathaniel offered to make it right. I didn't send it back but actually enjoyed it the way it came out. The pork chop was very good and we had the butterscotch Carmel bunt cake with ice cream for dessert. From what we had I was pleased with the portion to price ratio. We will be back again to try some of their other items.

This was the first time I ever, eaten here, the food was just okay. The fried oysters had no flavor the dipping sauce had more kick than oysters. I also had the lump crab Mac and cheese this was also unimpressive if it had crab it was one spoon full, if I never go again that will be okay. The atmosphere was beautiful staff was nice, food unimpressive.

We went in about 815 or so. It was late. The food was good, not 5 stars, maybe 3. Had the crab dip, too cream cheesy and the pita bread needed toasted. We split a huge ribeye, but, it was under seasoned. Brussel sprouts were lukewarm. Drinks were fantastic 😳 Def go there to drink for sure. 🍷

It wasn’t that great. I was expecting more. Our appetizer was terrible. We got the Tuna Tataki. It came quick, so quick you know it’s been sitting in the fridge ready to go. The fish tasted too fishy. It was dry and the sauce tasted old. I got the shrimp and grits. It was okay. The wife got the shrimp tacos. It was bland. Walked out of there paying 80 bucks with tip. That included couple of beers and a flat soda. Waitress was nice.

Atmosphere was great. I made a reservation for 7:45, didn’t eat until 9:45. Our server forgot about us multiple times. We went 20+ minutes without drinks. They needed up taking our food off of our ticket because it took so long. When we got our food, the rissoto was cold. Food was good. But service was just horrible. I don’t even think we will go back.

Do not try to reserve anything here if you have a group larger than 12. They will not take it. My grandpas 87th birthday and he wanted to eat here. Even asked to reserve two tables of 8 would not do it. Gave an excuse that their kitchen couldn’t handle it. What kind of kitchen can’t handle a group of 16 or the tables you have in the restaurant. I have been in the restaurant business the majority of my life and if this is indeed their policy they really need to revisit it. Turning away guaranteed money.

The biggest disappointment is waiting for food and it being sent out undercooked. Not one, but 2 dishes. Got told that the "steamer" for the peel and eat shrimp was broken, then got served a plate of steamed shrimp that were undercooked. Ordered 2 orders of scallops, both came out at separate times, the second order was undercooked. The whole table ate at separate times because of the confusion in the kitchen. Undoubtedly the worst meals and service we've had from this restaurant thus far. The food we did get served was room temp at best as if the waitress had forgotten all about our table, refills took about 15-20 minutes, the table was filled with drinks and plates from the waitress not clearing the table. Would not recommend.

Sad to leave a 1 star after my meal…. We had a great meal, great drinks, and an amazing server. Unfortunately while we were eating we witness an extremely disgusting event with the owner. He acted rude, aggressive, and honestly ruined the vibe of the entire restaurant. I feel sorry these wonderful employees have to be associated with such horrible ownership. While the meal, waitress, and drinks were amazing- I simply cannot return based on the exchange I saw between other patrons and the owner.

Went there too celebrate my wife cancer anniversary. No parking downtown Winterville so decided to park in Dixie Queen parking lot that was empty during dinner our vehicle got towed that cost 325 plus a bill that was over 300 and never got all of our food
