Not Your Average Joe's Waltham

Went there last night for dinner. I’ve been to a few Not Your Average Joes, and this is by far my most favourite. Wait staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home. The menu is thorough so there’s something for everyone, but not too overwhelming either! There were 4 people in my group; we ordered a pizza, impossible burger, steak tips and entree salad, everyone was super happy with their meals. Restaurant atmosphere and fit-out are contemporary and spacious. Also there’s plenty of parking available which is an extra bonus!

Excellent atmosphere and service. Food quality and taste cant be beat. Highly recommend... even my picky daughter devoured a cheeseburger off the kids menu!!

I went in on Friday and dined in immediately seated and such friendly kind customer service from beginning to end. I’m not from the area and I was there for a while it was such an enjoyable experience!

David is great! Food is surprisingly delicious! When I heard the name I was thinking burgers but the food looks like something you would get at fine dining restaurants.

My daughter and I were in the area looking at apartments and had the pleasure of eating lunch here. Our server, Natalia was AMAZING!! She was very attentive, filling our drinks, taking away dirty plates and recommending apartments in the area. The food was delicious. We started out with the cheesecake egg rolls- YUMMY!! I had the best chicken parm I have ever had - and my daughter currently lives in Bostons North End - so that is saying something. The chicken was tender and juicy and the marinara was perfect. My daughter had the wedge salad and tomato soup, which she said was delicious as well. I am really hoping she moves here so we can make this a habit when I visit. Any chance of getting one in South Carolina??

This place is very accommodating as they make most of their dishes from scratch and it's tasty

We loved it! We were a party of seven, each one had a different dish, and everyone enjoyed what they got. I had a clam chowder which was creamy and chunky, and the cape cod Reuben was extraordinary with delicious haddock fried to perfection, coleslaw and fantastic sauce. The service was spot on, and vibe of the place was chill and classy.

Interesting menu with good variety. We chose salads, both excellent. Fresh ingredients, good house made dressing. Beware of the bread and olive oil cheese dip - it's tempting to overdo it. Friendly, efficient service. Nice atmosphere.

We enjoy coming to Waltham location the service and food is always amazing the best, attentive, friendly waiter is Khildip! We were so happy to see him at this location as we knew him from years in Arlington.

The Waldorf salad with chicken is the absolute best. The Sherry vinegrette dressing on it is so good. All food selections I've had have been very good. Will continue to go regularly.

Friendly service and excellent brunch - the pancakes were excellent and the kids meals are large portions. Stopped in on our way home during a road trip, highly recommend!

Good but a sports bar really. I personally don't care for them. But the people and food where good.

Food very good. I have not been here in a while. I had a Cobb Salad, enough for 2.

I generally like these places. Everything has been consistent at all locations I visit. At this location, I was here for just a couple beers. Great bartender, clean glassware, and cold beer on tap. Can’t ask for more than that!

Had brunch, it was amazing. The french toast and eggs tasted fresh and the vermont syrup, so tasty. The table Foccacia bread at the table was simply outstanding, apparently they bake it fresh everyday. Our server was also attentive and top notch. I can't recommend this stop on your trip enough.

Great special menu we had the 2 people special. My dinner salad was excellent the homemade dressing was terrific. We did the chicken app that was delicious very flavorfully.service on point too. Overall I will be back ES pecially with the special offers. Over all a very good job all around by everyone there

Take out all the time. Excellent food, presentation and packaging. Very very happy. Special mention of mustard panko chicken, vegetable harvest bowl and cape cod reuben. All delicious. Highly recommend.

Fun spot with a good variety of eats. Food came very quickly. We got the Cape Cod Reuben Sandwich and the Korean Bowl

Had dinner here with friends. Clean and friendly setting. Food was good. I had the Impossible Burger with sweet potatoes fries. It was a good choice with the right mix of flavors. Good place to visit and have dinner if you are in the area.

Rosa was our server, spot on no mistakes, prompt and very pleasant 11/10/24 food was ridiculously good! best visit yet in all the years I've been going there

Really great food. Fun atmosphere. Quick and friendly service. The server didn't seem to know the dishes super well so was a bit off on questions we asked.

Nice, spacious restaurant. The mustard chicken club was really tasty. The portions are big.

Nice place with a wide variety of options. Gluten free and vegetarian options too. Food tastes great as well. Friendly staff and good service. A bit too noisy inside, but they have outside seating as well.

I ordered from their gluten-free options and that Veggie Burger DID NOT disappoint!!! It was so flavorful and I enjoyed every bite. Our server seemed a little... distracted or tired? But overall it was a good, quick lunch.

Awesome array of food choices! Service was meh. But I dont need a lot of attention. Tried the Nashville hot chicken dip. Only gave us 10 tortilla chips which were stale. Seemed annoyed when I asked for some fresh ones. 🙄

I was pretty excited about the meatloaf, but it was rubbery, like it had been overcooked. My waitress started off great, but then pretty much disappeared unless I flagged her down. All in all, a disappointment from an out of town visitor.

Ordered the Brat Wurst feast - takeout. The potato salad was rock hard...undercooked potatoes. The brat was burned with very little kraut on top. Very disappointed as we are usually pleased with our dinners. This was an Oktober Fest special that needed work!

The pictured nachos were $15 🙄😒. And I was given two (2) pieces of bread and no more. Waitress said they were huge! large enough to be a full meal and when they arrived they were like this. Waitress apologized and made it right for the miscommunication but it was still really disappointing. And then I had to buy something else to be full which was a waste of time/and more money. Idk man, the waitress was super nice but this is all $15 will get you, and a bunch if wasted time.

Incredibly disappointing. Ordered a grilled cheese and tomato soup, waited a bit long considering the empty restaurant. I was really looking forward to it, but soup was extremely thick and bland. The worst part though, was the grilled cheese. It looked like I woke up hungover at 3am and tried to make food. Bread was overtoasted, but somehow cheese was mostly unmelted. For 13.95, this was a super bad decision and from this experience I'm assuming all the dishes priced at 30 bucks are also. Won't be returning :(

Trying to take my mom for a relaxing afternoon we drive to a place that was so quiet but was a mistake the waitress that was serving us was pleasant she was doing bartending and waitressing had a lot going but did her best ordered chicken parm and that was ok got the meatloaf that needed a steak knife to cut through it was that hard the sweet and sour chicken said was grilled but looked steamed and the vegetables were so hard the knife wouldnt even cut them would definitely not recommend

Service is SLOW- We grabbed our refills from the bar ourselves, food was decent, but they weren't even busy that night

Not you average joe's is definitely not your average joe's. Its below par. The clam chowder was potato soup with clams the size of bacon bits. I ordered a southwest salad and the dressing had no flavor. Unfortunately the additions in the salad (corn, onions, etc) were also flavorless. We whipped feta dip was okay but the cucumbers (served with the dip) had no flavoring. It was sadly the worst meal we had on our trip. Eat elsewhere.

We ordered burgers and fries and for the kids chicken tenders. The fries were dry and hard without seasoning. And the burger was also dry. The chicken tenders were alright. All the food was cold, especially the fries. Looks like it was the days left over.

Ordered chicken dumplings via doordash. They came with the sauce in the container, which is served on the side in the restaurant. As a result, by the time the dumplings arrived, they were soaked and soggy and disgusting. They tasted so sour it was as if they had gone bad. Absolutely horrible. So disappointed.

Was waiting to be seated for 30 minutes despite having reservation. The kitchen was backed up and I didn’t get food and had to leave. If you can’t handle guests you shouldn’t seat them

I’ve been to this location many times and always loved it! Couldn’t wait to come back! However, last night my husband and I had the worst experience and were so disappointed. We had a reservation for 7:45pm and arrived on time. Upon arrival, we were told by the woman at the front that “the restaurant would be closing at 8 because there are not enough people here to stay open”. She told us we were welcome to sit down but we would have to order right away to make the 8pm cutoff, and that as long as we got our food ordered in time, we were welcome to sit and enjoy it for as long as we wanted. We were starving so we decided to sit and eat knowing that the food would be good given past experiences. As anyone who has been here knows, the fresh bread and Parmesan oil is one of the best parts, but I guess since they were closing they gave us cold bread and oil with no Parmesan or spices. We ordered our food before the cutoff and it was very tasty, but this is when we really felt the staff pushing us out. They turned all the TVs off at 8, and turned off the music and turned on all the lights at 8:25pm. A clear sign that we, and the 4 other tables that were still enjoying their meals, were no longer welcome. We finished our food, paid our check, and left as quickly as we could. We were so disappointed and put off by the whole encounter.

I’ve been to this location many times and usually the food is good, but this visit was extremely disappointing. There’s a reason appetizers and soups are ordered first — they should arrive before the main course. Instead, everything came out at the same time, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. The nachos were burned, which honestly shouldn’t even be possible. I wish I had taken pictures. The chicken parmesan was also burned and tasted bitter; I couldn’t eat more than two bites. To make it worse, the pasta was cold while the chicken was extremely hot and overcooked. Overall, this was a very poor experience. It’s disappointing to say that after being a repeat customer, we won’t be returning.
