Opinions de The Breakfast Club at Midtown Lafayette
Went here for the 1st time - DELISH! The Bloody Mary was good - not too salty. Ordered the Chilequiles with verde sauce - flavor was yummers. My only gripe was that the chips were soggy, but it was most likely due to my slow eating and the good conversation with my girlfriend. The definite highlight was the Churrro Waffles, a MUST TRY!
We had a group of 9 for brunch and we all really enjoyed the food and our time together. One of our group ordered a hamburger ( see photos) but the restaurant offers us ordered omelet, pancakes, waffles or French toast. There is very little parking on the street, but much more parking behind the restaurant. The only thing missing was "Don't you forget about me" by Simple Minds playing in the background. I guess that would be too much of a cliché! Try The Breakfast Club; you will not be disappointed!
Friendly employees with an inviting atmosphere! Lots of indoor seating as well as some outdoor seating. It is almost always busy here. We came on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait to be seated. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious! The trio was the best! We tried the blueberry lemon pancakes, peach cobbler, and california French toast. All were yummy but the pancakes were the highlight. The chicken apple sausage is great, as are the potatoes. Very happy with the experience and plan to be back! Highly recommend!
Great quality food and decent prices for what you get! Not just a restaurant for aesthetics like a lot of places, the food is excellent. Returned on April 6, 2025 We got the pancake trio again and the breakfast enchiladas. The enchiladas had a little spice but not too much, and they were delicious and fresh. The pancakes were also great!
A quite little spit. Probably not best for large parties unless you understand that you will be waiting for a table. The staff are all super sweet. Our waitress was phenomenal. The food was over all delicious. The lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes needs a bit more lemon vest. The crab bennys need to have a little bit less shell lol but overall good.
Hats off to the one girl who did it all at The Breakfast Club at Midtown during our brunch … she was the host, waiter, cashier & bartender. The kitchen staff helped her out a lot to serve the correct food to the right customers. We come here for their Blue lemon ricotta pancakes. We ordered the veggie omelette & chicken apple sausage omelette.
My food was great as always! But you MUST try the churro waffle. Chefs Kissssss!!!
Amazing food! Great experience! Kid friendly! Nice staff! Compliments to the chef!
We had a wonderful time here! We've been twice in the past week and both times have been fantastic. Our server Hannah has provided great attentive service both times. The manager is very friendly and made our birthday celebration special. We had the eggs Benedict (we tried California, veggie, surf and turf, and the new yorker and all were incredible), strawberry banana crepe, coffee cake, and tried one of the scrambles. Very healthy portion sizes and yummy high quality food! The steak in the surf and turf Benedict was so tender and high quality and the crepe hit the spot with the perfect ratio of fruit to Nutella. This is a great staple family friendly breakfast spot with a homey and casual ambiance. We will most definitely be returning and making this a staple of our routine!
Classic breakfast and brunch with a modern and airy vibe. We loved the atmosphere and being right downtown. Food was delicious, service was excellent and they event surprised us with a birthday treat! We will absolutely be back!
My family and I really enjoyed this spot. It was really busy but the wait wasn’t bad. They had a complimentary drink stand outside and lovely shops around to kill the time. The hostesses were very nice. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fun and modern, full service bar, our server was nice and the food was really great! Huge portions that we honestly could have shared. We’ll be back and would recommend! Pictures are of the Mexican Scramble and S’mores Pancakes.

Excellent mimosas... I got the scrambled Mexican eggs, which were fabulous... brother got two different eggs Benny, which he said were perfect... 1 was carnitas, the other was a seafood one (can't remember) and my sister got the Popeye Omelet, which she loved... and we split a California Style French toast, omg... it was divine! Highly recommend this restaurant!
We went there for lunch today and the food was excellent! Three of us had lunch and my husband decided he wanted French toast. Everything was so good! They even had crayons and a coloring page for our little one. Our server Maria was wonderful. She took good care of us. We'll definitely be back. Such a cute place.
Extensive breakfast menu, including a variety of eggs Benedict, skillets and omelets. Generous portions; we took enough home for breakfast the following day. We saw other tables loading up “to go” boxes too. Our waiter was helpful and friendly, but it seemed like he was assigned too a lot of tables (maybe someone called in sick?). Good coffee.
Came here Sunday for a late brunch with my girl’s family. Was seated by the patio. Parking was metered but not expensive. Was able to eat our food in time before they closed at 3pm. Wait time took 30min but went quick. Food took awhile but we enjoyed our food. I personally should’ve ordered a different dish but to me the Santa Maria was alright. Tried a bite of everyone elses dish and it was delicious. Service was great with how many people were at the restaurant. I enjoyed the Cookies n Cream cakes, they were stacked yet really good! B’fast Chow Mein presentation was creative and cool to see. Korean fried chicken had a kick but still good with the waffle creation. The steak huevos rancheros was delicious with the beans on the side, actually tasted like the real dish. So far, good location and good food.
This place is a great place for consistent breakfast with good options and friendly service. We're fans of the crab and shrimp omlette and the benedicts were good, but weren't huge fans of the French toast or the crepe. The kid pancakes looked great, and I would recommend the coffee cake in place of toast. Plenty of street parking around (metered) and place can get busy on a weekend morning but seems to move relatively quick. Definitely worth a try if you haven't before.
Went down for a late Sunday Brunch/lunch. They were busy but we only had to wait barely 10 min, and the hostess was nice enough to come find us. Portions are very big! We kept joking about it being a "2 egg" breakfast, because it was more like 4. My chilaquiles was pretty good. Not excellent since I have a high bar for them. Hubby's chicken fried steak was good too. I've had more flavorful gravy, but it was rich. I was surprised that his potatoes were smashed, and not too far from my hash browns. My tiki mimosa was good. His melon smash was just ok-it was a full drink with no ice, so it was just barely cool. I very much appreciate that the prices aren't crazy and the portions are generous. We will definitely be coming back to try all the different menu items!

Fairly decent food, but can be a trifle difficult to get a table. It's also really, really noisy inside, so if it's not too hot or too cold outside you might want to asking for an outside table. The staff is nice, and the food selections are fairly varied. Nothing spectacular, but definitely above average. If you happen to be in the area, definitely worth giving it a try.
I hope the management and ownership group reads these reviews. The food is superb here. No question about that. The atmosphere is a vibe. No questions about that. The service however is trash. As a patron, I understand every establishment has a different set of rules in regards to seating/ ordering. When I arrived, I was not instructed what to do or where to go. I asked a hostess, who said she was busy helping another customer. I asked another gentleman and he said you can sit anywhere. So, I sat inside for about 10 minutes and nothing. No server, no water no nothing. So, I got up and asked the hostess again, and she said I had to check in and give them my number so I could get a table and they'd text me when my table was ready. Ok cool, but why was this not explained at bat?? Anyway, my date was running late, and I told the hostess that I wanted a table outside so I could set the vibe. No problem, but it's a 25-minute wait. Ok cool. We got our table a little early actually (kudos), and got our water and menus. The server gets our orders and everything is going well. I ordered the trio pancakes and my date ordered the Crab Cake Benedict. The food was delicious, no question about that. However, once we got our food, I wanted some more syrup for my pancakes, but they never came back to check on any of the tables outside. Even the ladies in front of our table mentioned that they were not present. No water refills or no "Hey, how is everything going? Do you need anything?" Nothing. The food was delicious but the lack of customer service ruined my experience. Just a lack of standard customer service. Note to staff, I shouldn't have to chase down your service when I'm a paying customer. Make it easy for me to spend my money. I shouldn't have to chase you down to pay you also. Check on your customers. It's low-hanging fruit to do the bare minimum. I will not be coming back to this place.

Food was great, but service was sketchy. And, to top it off, one person in our party got a hair in the dish. It took forever to get it replaced. And, then, it wasn't comped. Because the replacement took so long, our parking was expired, so we did not have time to argue over the bill. Disappointing service.
My kids took us there yesterday for my birthday lunch. We were told 20 minutes but we waited for an hour and 15 minutes. We saw a few groups of people seated before us that came after us to put their name down. This inspite of my wife checking with the hostess 2x politely. They apologize but did it again. I do not like causing a scene and it was a birthday lunch for me & my wife, arrange by my kids. Our waiter was very nice but the food came out like nothing that resemble the pictures online. Im posting it on here. I feel we were discriminated coz we were the only brown family at that time. I like crispy hashbrown and I specifically ask the waiter but my plate look like someone vomitted on the plate. I ate most of it, coz I was hungry and did not eat breakfast. You be the judge!

What has happened? The foods used to be great but it’s been declining for several visits now. The breakfast burrito this morning was served with cold beans. The chorizo in the burrito was beyond over cooked. The texture was weird…very hard and almost no hint of the flavor you normally get from chorizo. We had requested the toppings be put inside the burrito. Small matter, but they were not. The food came fast but the waitress never once checked back to see how our meals were. Even the normally great Bloody Mary’s were watered down, perhaps from scooping watery ice into the glasses…?…not sure, but very disappointing. This used to be our favorite breakfast spot.
Our Porsche was backed into at this location on January 10th. I have reached out to this location and the Livermore one hoping to get some support in video evidence but NO ONE has replied. What's truly concerning is the manager at the Lafayette location said the person who hit our car came into the restaurant looking for the owners, however, we were racially profiled and the staff assumed the car owner was not present. We were present and eating at the restaurant. This is disgustingly behavior and absolutely unprofessional. What's actually interesting and something I would have never noted was that the staff appeared to seat only people of color in the back while Caucasian customers all sat in the front. Highly disgusted with this entire chain of restaurants and would NEVER recommend anyone support such poor business practices. To show such segregation in 2026 is the way to get canceled.

Lively spot, great ambience but if you’re expecting good food… just skip. If you’re into sweet breakfast like pancakes and French toast, they will nail it. But everything else is just such a miss and a shame. Including their espresso beverages. If you’re a foodie, you’ll be disappointed here.
