As the story says a "flavor destination" my experience is more akin to an orgasm in my mouth. The BEST baked salmon I believe I've ever had!!! Perfect date night for my pescitarian partner. Yeah the prices were a little higher than I expected, however in this case, you get what you pay for!! DAMN! ambiance, sexy music, great food, and the service with Shayla was a 10 🌟.

Eh, it's was ok. We were in the area and decided to give it a try. Overpriced and nothing special about it. We started with the crab nuggets, they were ok. For my entrée I got the grilled salmon with broccoli, the salmon was top greasy for my liking. I also ordered a salad but it did not look fresh. My husband got the fish filet po' boy. He said it was ok but nothing special. We've definitely had better.

I must say I was quite shocked about this place. When we walked into the restaurant we were greeted and told them we had a page party coming in. They sat us down almost immediately. While waiting we meet an amazing waitress and asked could she wait on us and Krystal agreed. When I tell you she was amazing she was amazing. Her personality was friendly, and here memory was phenomenal!!! We went from 8 guest to 12 and she accommodated us all. The food was amazing and she provided us with great food options. The crawfish was great and seasoned well. The crab tatter tots and fried pickles were the best appetizers to us. After a while the manager Autro came over to check on us and make sure we were okay. He too made sure we were great. Overall the service here made a lasting impression on me. I will definitely be returning.

They have good crawfish here, I like their Sunday special (3lbs with corn potatoes and sausage) typically get Cajun with medium heat. Their bathrooms need a deep cleaning and some general maintenance work from the two times I've been here, but the food is good and that's what I come here for.

I got the crawfish and ACE boil bag mild spice and the kitchen sink season mix was delicious it was totally awesome for our first time ever my husband got a classic cheese burger our waiter Chris B. answered all of our questions he made it a great experience he was awesome very friendly and attentive 😎 we ordered Togo it came out fast everything was in the bag gloves bibs that amazing butter and lemons 🤩 other than the music being a bit too loud it was a great experience and meal me and my family plan on going back.👩‍❤️‍👨👶🏼

It's not too far from Kay Hutchinson Convention Center. Our server, Chris B, did a great job. kitchen sink seasoning for our queen snow crab legs and their ace boil, which included xl shrimp. Sausage and potato. Updt! We went once more before leaving town. I tried to get a before picture of the bagged boil, but once the bag hit the table!!..well! here's the final result. Absolutely delicious! They don't skimp on seasoning. There's ramps for wheelchairs in outside seating areas and to get you down to the bar area. There's also a few tvs where you can catch a game at the bar.

I know the first thing you would order is something seafood related, but I would still highly recommend the voodoo smash burger, out of this world with the flavor and the crab imprint on the bun was a fun little touch! This was my first time going to Shell Shack. I was wanting seafood other than Red you know the rest. I was not disappointed. First off the hostess Kaija was awesome. I had questions as I had never eaten here and she showed me a menu. Then a server who wound up being my actual server came up and explained the menu in detail. Crystal was very on point and knew the food well and made suggestions on what I might want. I wound up getting the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, Fried Calamari and a Catfish Platter. The food was excellent all the way from start to finish. Great atmosphere, good service exceptional food! Will definitely be back.

This was my first time visiting the Mesquite location and I must say I was very impressed. Taylor was our server and see was an absolute sweetheart. The atmosphere was very calm and it looked brand new inside. I decided to stop by because I got an email that let me know Shell Shack has an all new menu plus $1 Drafts and $1 Margaritas 7 days a week. We ended up getting strawberry mango margaritas, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, Death by chocolate cake, the new Crab Daddy Feast boil bag and the new Big Easy Burger. I've never seen a burger with sausage on it so that was a pleasant surprise. I'll definitely be back! Everything was delicious. The manager and GM also both stopped by the table to greet us and ask us how our meal was. Excellent customer service

It was great, we went on Sunday 7/25. There was only a 10 minute wait but we sat at the bar no wait lol don’t judge me😁 the bartender was nice and the lil dudes in the kitchen were jamming both on the food and the music. I recommend!

The food was great seems slightly over priced but was isn't now a days. I ordered the Buffalo sandwich gotta admit its definitely one of the best ones I've had and the little touch they add to the top bun was a plus . You do have to do a lot of looking around to complete their menu . What I mean is the market value of each item is written on the wall and it's ok I understand the market value fluctuates. But you won't find the kid menu on the table menu you gotta find that on the wall too. They only have 2 options so not that big of a deal . They have a decent size bar as well .The waitress was good no complaints there. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because the second we walked in to get seated one of the first things the hostess mentioned was how there is a 20% gratuity for party of 6 or more. Probably not a bad thing if you're allowed to read it yourself on the wall or the menu. But by them telling you the second you walk in it has you feeling like they are cornering you before they sit you. How are you going to tell me what I'm tipping? Also that's a double edge sword if you're going to tell me what I'm tipping then I should be allowed to tell you how good my waitress better be. Overall I'd definitely still comeback now that I know how they operate Probably won't feel so rough around the edges on my next visit

Not sure why it was just me when I went to the restaurant, but it meant more attention for me, 😂😂😂🤣The waiter was nice and awesome, and the crawfish was good. Random note: the only thing I didn’t like was the bad signal in there. I like to look at my phone when I eat, and the reception wasn’t good. Even with that, I enjoyed my midday lunch.

My kids LOVE Shell Shack. They have a new menu, so I tried one of the new entee's. Big mistake. The baked catfish was bland, rice was mushy and also bland. The broccoli was good, but you can't add extras on top. Luckily, the manager came out and swapped it out with a salad I wanted. It took forever (maybe 15-20 minutes) for a plate of just lettuce to come out. I'm a salad lover, but it had too much dressing. My kids loved their meals, but I wish there was a price on the menu for the Boils. We were seated very quickly, but there is no table for 5 (unless they squeeze another chair in. If they push 2 tables together, you're automatically charged 20%. The waitress was nice, but this will be my last visit (with the entire family).

Haven't been to Shell Shack in forever! First time to this location. When I walked in, the hostess was sitting at the stand on her phone watching TikToks...looked up at me and just said "For 1?" No one greets/welcomes you into an establishment anywhere around this town! I order the MVP, which came out in good time and tasted great. Only complaints I have are the sausages tasted kind of weird and the crab was light on meat inside the shells. Can't expect much in North Texas when you're used to East coast Florida seafood boils. My waitress was awesome and my experience aside from the beginning was good.

When I arrived I was greeted warmly by the hostess and I advised I would be sitting at the bar. When I had a seat at the bar I was greeted very quickly by Chelsea & she assisted me with my drink selection. I opted for the Adult Cherry Limeade which tasted good but I had 2 & never even felt it. My date had the Shell Shack Mama I think is what it's called. While it was tasty, it packed no punch either. For starters we had the Crab Tater Tots which were very good, they were actually the best part of the meal. They come with Ranch or Tarter sauce , we got both & the Tarter sauce was the favorite with that. For the entree I ordered the Grilled Catfish which comes with Steamed Broccoli & Rice. The Broccoli was cooked just right however the Rice was a gummy ball of starch, I almost thought it was mashed potatoes at first . The rice had no seasoning at all & the Catfish, while edible, was lacking in flavor as well. Very bland. Didn't tastes grilled at all. My date had the Salmon which had more flavor but his rice was the same. At this point I see no reason to return...except maybe for a beer & those Crab Tots!

Tbh there food is not to die for, to me. It’s just simple seafood and a little over priced... if you’ve never had seafood with sauce on it before you’d probably enjoy it. The food came out pretty fast and our waiter was very friendly and welcoming. It would have been nice to get fries or a salad with the buffalo wings as they were pretty small wings and pricey. The buffalo shrimp was extremely delicious on the other hand.

This was ok. The food had some kick to it and the crab was pretty tasty. I wasn't a fan of the way the alligator was cooked. The fried pickles... perfect! We didn't care for our server. Although nice, she spent so much time trying to get good reviews from another table that we had to get our own refills and she wasn't knowledgeable about the menu of drinks. The bathroom was creepy as well.

Waitress good, atmosphere ok, food good except for the sausage. Lemon drop flavor ok; no liquor. I came for the blue frozen drink machine empty 😩 Overall experience, Priced to expensive for what’s given; could feed 12 people at home for the costs $97+ tip $20 = 117 🤦🏾‍♀️

I have eaten here a few times and because it's close to my house I keep going. The service was subpar at best. My daughter and I waited for a server to greet us at our table for almost 10 minutes after we were seated. I finally went to the bar and asked a random employee if we could get someone to come take our order and the host ended up returning to assist us. I ordered grilled shrimp. Have you ever tried to remove the shell from shrimp AFTER its been seasoned and grilled. If you'd like to try your hand at it, go here and get it. Unless you have the patience of a Saint, you will find yourself frustrated rather quickly. I wouldn't have been upset about it if the menu would've stated the shrimp will be cooked and served with the entire shell on. Needless to say, I didn't finish it. My daughter enjoyed her crab legs so that was a plus. I would not recommend this place unless you just REALLY want seafood and want to spend money for average food and before average service.

We were seated pretty quickly, but the service was absolutely horrible. We waited over 10 minutes for someone to bring us water and over 25 minutes for our orders to be taken. By the time the food came out, it was cold... we wanted them to warm the food up but were nervous it was going to take them an additional 30 minutes to bring it back out. Update- 3 years later we went back. Tried wings and shrimp this time around. Flavor was lacking with both entrees. This was the opinion of everyone in our large party. However, service was much better. The total experience was mediocre. They sell their crab legs by the pound. Potatoes, corn, and sausage are sold separately. It took about 15 minutes for someone to take our order even though there were only 3 other customers in the establishment. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful. As for the food, the sausage was salty, as was the sauce the crab legs were in . They forgot our potatoes. But remedied that quickly. The potatoes were huge! We ended up not even eating them. I prefer baby red potatoes with my crab legs. I wasn't impressed with the food, but the waitress made the experience better.

Food was good. Customer service could be better. Server gave us plates filled with water like if they just came out of the dishwasher. Clean plates are great but every other restaurant does polish them. There was also another waitress there with her behind all out in booty shorts that was not appropriate at all for a “family friendly” environment.

We visited Shell Shack around 10 PM and were pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere. The greeter was friendly and seated us right away, checking in several times to make sure we had everything we needed great service! As for the food, we tried the shrimp boil with the kitchen sauce. Unfortunately, it was greasier than expected, and for the price, I was hoping for a more refined flavor. Still, overall it was a good experience and the service really stood out.

The service was good but the food was very salty and not fresh. The snow crab have no meat in it, and we ordered the VIP bucket. The alligator bite was technically you can only taste the dang the salty batter. The fried calamari...what the heck was that. It was salty and sour. I just got one bite from it. We have to finish the dang VIP bucket due to expensive and all we got was crab shells. The potatoes that was in it was bad.

They sell $75.00 platters incomplete. They claim to have been out of king crab and eggs that go in the boils. Price stays the same regardless of being shorted. Recommend other places. Also, they seems to short on other items in the boils .Juicy Seafood out here street gives more for the buck and speak from experience.

Went on a Friday for a late lunch. The restaurant is nice and our server was cool. So, once I received my food…I was quickly reminded as to why I never returned to shell shack after trying them twice 7 years ago. The fried pickles and fries were probably the only good thing we had. -crab stuffed tator tots: bland, no seasoning whatsoever but they were cooked ok -wings: fried way too hard! I like to mix mine with my seafood boil but I couldn’t enjoy them at all. -crawfish: the kitchen sink sauce was bland and not spicy at all. I’m tired of these places not cooking the crawfish in the spices or not knowing how to get the flavor inside the mud bug. And when I say spicy…I mean spicy!!! Ugh! They weren’t overcooked and were a nice size so I’ll give them that. I also think kids meals at any and all restaurants should come with the drink. My daughter liked her buffalo wings and fries so, if she asks… I might go back only on the strength of her…I guess I can always enjoy a cocktail and fried pickles. This place is kind of overpriced, not happy I spent $100 and wasn’t satisfied.

I really tried to reach out to customer service before this review. I am pretty sure they served us someone else's spicy overcooked boiled last night. We indeed informed our server but no action . The crab legs was so tough it was a struggle to crack em. This is only my second time here and this experience was terrible.

This place was very rude, judgement, and absolutely racist I went and have the worst experience by two servers working here and that was completely unacceptable the manager was trying to make it seem like nothing even happened I will never return and will be contacting corporate tomorrow.

First and last time visiting this place. Service was horrible, food was cold, my catfish was ok.. hush puppies were super greasy and cold and hard. Asked server for more hot fries because mines were cold and old, but my husband’s were warm. We were done with our fish before we got the fresh fries back. Initially received our meal before we even got our drinks. Our waitress Angelica kept disappearing. I normally give the benefit of the doubt when people are short staffed however there was HARDLY any customers. We came in at about 8pm and by 9:10 my husband was walking around trying to find someone to cash out our ticket. Finally the bar guy came in sight so my husband asked him to cash us out and when he turned around he saw our waitress sitting. At this time it was only my husband and I, two other young men that just received their meals and one other lady walking around for someone to cash her out as well. So there were not a lot of people at all to be this slow. We wish we would have just waited the hour for a table at Cheddars or gone to Raising canes. At least I would have gotten satisfied. Pictures are of the old cold fries I never ate and the new fries she brought after we had finished everything. Side note they only look good because of the quality of the camera. SMH Only reason my husband didn’t ask for a supervisor is because we didn’t want to have to wait there any longer b/c all of the workers kept disappearing🤦🏽‍♀️

Service and management sucked. 15-20 minutes to get order drinks. Didn't get food until 45 minutes after ordering. Getting bill took 20 minutes to get attention. Totally understaffed and delegation of staff ignored. Food was ok, but could have been better.

The service is starting out horribly. I’ve been here 10 minutes and no one has come to service us. I had to go to the bar to order drinks. A couple came in after us and was able to get waters and drinks before us. The food is awesome but the customer service is not great.

The restaurant needs some updates! Why doesn’t the women restroom sink work? My shrimp were overcooked and mismatched. The corn tasted sour as well. I will never come back to this. The sauce is way too salty. So disappointing.. this place use to be #1.

Gave 4 small sausages for $3.25…we said something to the server she apologized saying she supposed to make awareness that 5 come with ……………. most of our mussels were already dead before cooked and given to us…. Food was cold as hell! Almost 2hrs after leaving I’m suffering from food poisoning …. I threw everything up to the point my stomach was scraping the bottom of the barrel which hurts so bad. Horrible service.... didn't even make it to dinner. Went here because it was close to our hotel. We ordered a double and coke (tall glass and lots of ice) and a draft beer and started looking at the menu. Our server brings back a short glass single and a bottle of beer. We explained the issue and he explained the draft in that particular beer was broke. No issue, I opted for something different and we asked that the double be put in a larger glass with ice. He comes back right after that with a different bottle of beer and a tall glass, no additional ice. He then mentioned that all of their drafts were broke so he would just pour bottled beer in a glass. The "double" was in no way a double.. it was so weak it tasted like straight pop. They just coupdnt seem to wrap their heads around simple things. Bad experience... we just paid for the drinks (charged for a double, beer was okay on price) and left for another restaurant.

OhKay I drove 2 1/2 hours to try this place the food was really cold the flavor wAS GOOD MY crab 🦀 legs was frozen and the clusters came with legs broken off the manager came and ask “was the inside frozen or just the outside ?” lol then they discounted a few things off my ticket . Saying they couldn’t do much. I then just ordered a bowl of gumbo and paid for the chicken and sausage gumbo but no sausage was in the gumbo. I had to come and leave my honest experience I’d rate them 4.8/10 maybe I’ll have to try them out again but almost three hours I’m truly disappointed seafood is my top favorite I’ve had tons of it but I’d prefer the pluckers across the street .
