Had a great experience here! The cook did a great job and the food was amazing. The portions were huge! Overall had a great time here with my family :)
I had such a great experience at Tokyo Sushi and Hibachi! From the moment we walked in, the service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. You can really tell they take pride in what they make. The sushi tasted incredibly fresh, and the hibachi was cooked perfectly. Every single thing we ordered was so good! On top of that, the atmosphere was great and the staff made sure we had everything we needed the entire time. It’s honestly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. If you’re looking for great food, great service, and a place where everyone treats you kindly, I definitely recommend checking them out!
I was craving some authentic hibachi food on Monday night so I figured I’d try this place out. Immediately this handsome tall man in all black caught my attention and as I was seated by the sweet hostess, I was praying he’d be my waiter and God must’ve heard my prayer because before I knew it, this man was in-front of me taking my order. I asked if he was on the menu and while he laughed and said he unfortunately had a girlfriend I was still planning on leaving my number on the ticket along with a big ole tip. Amazing service, amazing food, phenomenal staff- and that sweet young man’s girlfriend better watch out because I’m after that sweet caramel chocolate😜 will be back
Such an amazing staff! From the host to the servers and chefs this restaurant exceeded the expectations. Very great quality of service and excellent food. Overall just a great place to eat and enjoy. I’d recommend the spicy California rolls and chicken hibachi it has so much flavor and is so good!
i had the best experience. everybody was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. food was great : )
Alize gave exceptional service and was pleasant. The atmosphere was really nice and it was a great dinner on this Friday night!
Alize has been amazing every time we come. The food is always spectacular and the experience is always top notch.
The food was absolutely delicious and the waitress Ali was exceptional!!! I was sat and attended and greeted as soon as i walked in and promptly taken my order. the atmosphere was so beautiful, low dim lights came to make it very romantic and made me feel welcomed even tho i came alone lol. I would definitely come again and bring along some people!!!
This was my first time ever to a hibachi restaurant and it was amazing. The staff was very friendly and we got seated right away and are waitress Ailze was amazing, over all amazing food, chef and, people. 10/10 in my book.
The show was amazing, the food was perfectly cooked and tasted really good, and our server; Alize was super sweet quick to refill drinks and came around often making sure we had everything we needed. 10/10 highly recommended!
Tokyo is always a fun place to go to. The staff are always friendly and the chefs are very entertaining and talented. Our chef tonight was amazing and funny. He cooked our tables meals to perfection. Definitely give this place a shot when you’re in the area and looking for hibachi or sushi.
I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic Japanese restaurant. The interior decor was upscale, warm, and welcoming. The cucumber roll was delicious without cream cheese. My server had them modify the order. He returned with a big serving of ginger and Wasabi. The vegetable tempura was excellent. The batter was light and crunchy. It came with 2 slices of sweet potatoes, mushrooms, zucchini, and broccoli. They make everything from scratch. The dipping sauce was delicious. Kudos Chef. Great service. It started getting busy closer to dinner time.
Updated review!!! Of course we came back! This time we arrived early enough we had an entire hibachi to ourselves. Waiter was on point the entire time and our chef for the evening was a personal favorite! He even had a few new tricks. I know we got some new guys in town but they're just not the Tokyo experience. Great job yet again guys and we'll see you again! Older review- The place was packed (as usual). Took 20 minutes to get a hibachi. Quicker if you just go to sushi bar but you know we all go for the habachi! I wasn't a fan of our waitress but they're turnover rate is usually horrible so she was probably new. As for the hibachi, GREAT experience and we managed to get one of my favorite cooks! He is always hilarious and he always cooks the steak and rice perfectly! I've had good and bad experiences with this place (one cook intentionally burned my food after he tried to serve it to me undercooked. He's not there anymore..) but overall it's still the same place we've been going to for over 30 years. I'll always suggest this place!
Drove 30 minutes to get take out - they left out the salad and soup. Thankfully I checked - was disappointed when I got home to see it was inedible.
Although we had great service, the overall experience was subpar. It smelled like cleaned garbage walking in. We were sat promptly as there was hardly anyone else there. Again, service was great so drinks and apps were brought quick. Orders were put in quick. Then came “the experience” that you go to hibachi grills for. The cook was meh. His jokes seemed so rehearsed and bland. The food was cooked well, just highly lacked flavor. Their noodles are a joke. Rice was meh. The house dressing for salads wasn’t preferable at all. Their miso/clear soup was more like flavored water. Steak/shrimp/chicken/veggies were all cooked well, but again lacked so much flavor. Overall, probably the worst hibachi grill I’ve ever been to - just not any other options in the area. Won’t be back.
While the food we ate was good, part of the sushi entree was out of stock. One of us was served our food about 10 minutes prior to the other being served. The martini ordered from the menu was "not available" because the 19-year-old bartender didn't know how to make it (didn't know what vermouth was). The woman's restroom was filthy. 1 of 2 toilets out of order. Toilet paper dispenser open and empty, trash scattered about the floor. When asked by another server if all was okay, we voiced that we had multiple issues. Shortly after, the host said the manager would be by to inquire. He never showed. A bill for $120 for 2 people would expect a much better experience. This was my favorite restaurant since I moved to this area 5 years ago. It has gone way down on my list of favorites.
I have never been to a hibachi place before and I was so excited. We walked in got seated quickly, then shortly after our server came for drink orders this was the only time he came other then to ask “who’s the birthday and dropped a bowl of ice cream and said there there you go” and if we needed to go box’s” We had to get up and go to the bar to ask for refills on our drinks. Lastly the server came back to give us our ticket then never came back for us to pay so we stood at the front for about 15min waiting for someone to check out our ticket. The only thing that was good was the cook and food as he had a great personality and joked with the whole table. Overall will not be going back when you spend $170.00 on a night out you expect decent service.
This place is dirty. Noticed it soon as we sat down. Almost every thing is "sticky". The grill was poorly cleaned from the last meal, all of my families plates were dirty in some way. Mine had an old piece of rice stuck to it. The food, service and chef were good but for the other reasons I find it hard to recommend. Mt. Fuji roll was good.
Ordered takeout dinner. Was supposed to come with soup and salad. Had to ask for it, then was told they were out of salads. Food was greasy and tasteless. The only positive is it was ready quickly. Will not return.
They were out of everything. Means the manager can’t manage inventory. I show up after they take my order and get there for them to tell me they are out of other things. I ask for a substitute so my family can all have food and they say okay that will be another 45min! Bad service! Went to Albertsons. Their sushi seemed to be more fresh!
First time customer, poor experience. Maybe it would have been better dining in rather than ordering take-out. Menu says hibachi entrees come with soup, salad and one shrimp. Got home to find this horrible week-old brown salad in the bag. No soup and zero shrimp. That salad - what a joke. I can’t believe anyone would think it’s ok to serve that. Called to speak with the manager but was told he was busy and wouldn’t take my call. $60 dinner for two. The rest of the food was decent, but we won’t go back.
Me and my wife Came in to eat today, at around 6:30 by far the worst experience weve had here. Immediately was hit by a sewage aroma as we walked in. You could clearly see dust/ debris EVERYWHERE Thought to myself "maybe the service will be good" Clearly giving this restaurant the benefit of a doubt. This young hispanic girl was cussing out this very nice waitress IN FRONT OF PAYING CUSTOMERS screaming at her , Alyssa was overall a amazing waitress but Alize was straight up unprofessional. No other way to put it.
About 3 months ago we were here and i never had any problems with any staff and the food is amazing and I just think the Asian man i believe is the manager or the head tenant of this plaza space he was extremely rude towards my fiance and after he handed her the bill he was very rude saying dont you ever come back here ever again and also telling her how to throw up when she cant control it, she has a disability and throws up a lot of stuff shes been eating and she cant help that. How he could've handled it is offer a trash can or just do the job yall signed up for and clean it up because shit happens. And I waited 2 months to see if the storm cleared up and the 22 year old Hispanic woman comes out of nowhere saying we weren't allowed here and I was never told myself I was banned but the manager dude had something against my fiance and I asked her why and just says bad review was left from us and how did she know that was me. So I boycotted this location and sadly the one in Durant because its the same owners and I liked the Durant one. But I drive 30 miles the other way on 75 to shogun totally different company and much better customer service anyway. If they would've apologized and worked something out for her disability we wouldn't go this route but instead they were rude about it and rather lose customers thus losing money and revenue which if they lose too many customers they would go out of business. And I know the owner or management team is seeing this they just dont care because they respond to others
The first red flag should have been the sewage smell that smacks you in the face as soon as you walk in the door. My family and I attempted to eat her last night and ended up walking out. Second red flag, We waited for 5 minutes at the host stand to even be acknowledged. We were eventually sat around a hibachi table and proceeded to wait again. Let me mention the AC in the facility appeared to not be working, it was extremely hot and they had portable fans plugged in everywhere. After waiting another 20 minutes we decided to walk out. We were never greeted, never told by anyone they would be right with us, nothing. We all just sat there staring at each other trying to keep cool by using the menus as fans. Mind you they were still seating other people which lead me to believe the wait time was just going to get worse. Another family that was sat at the same hibachi table with us proceeded to follow us out the door. If you are thinking about eating here, save yourself the time and frustration and drive to McKinney. By the time you get drinks (hopefully) you could have made the drive to a hibachi restaurant with way better service and food.
Update 2ND TRY: Tried this place again, and the service was just shy of tolerable. I don't know if the server has never served before or just plan bad at her job, but she never cleared the table, at a certain point I had to go fix my own drinks, clean off my table and started putting stuff of an empty table next to our section just to make room. Needless to say, the service is....not the best. Food wise, it was decent but I won't give this place a 3rd try. The food isn't wowing and the service is agrovating. STAY AWAY! 1st visit impression: I have no idea how the food is but if it's anything like the service, RUN! I was told before even going here, the service was bad, but I tried any way. There was tons of empty seats and a alot sitting people waiting up front, but no hostess. After 5 mins one showed up just to cash someone out and then take off again. No acknowledgement of us standing waiting to get a table. After she finally did come, we said we wanted to do sushi, not hibachi, she mumbled something and took off again. We waited for another 5 mins with out any idea or word from the hostess and left with several other people that were just over it. I don't know how this place even stays open with the lack of service they provide.
