Tip: If you want a quieter experience, avoid being seated in the bar area, especially when there's a band playing. The wood fired pizza is highly recommended.

The food was excellent, for all 6 of us. Came out hot and timed well as we finished our appetizers. The waitress was outstanding. Highly recommended.
My husband and i had our first dinner here today and we were both extremely pleased. We had wood fired pizza and spaghetti. I always try spaghetti with marinara sauce when I visit a new italian restaurant. If you don't like the sauce...don't even bother trying anything else! Well... La Perla gets a gold star for their fabulous sauce...can't wait to have it again!!
We had the fire roasted pizza. More of a personal pan pizza. Was very good, full dinner plate round. Loved the different toppings. Was rather on the expensive side for pizza but we did really enjoy it.
Busy Valentine's night for dinner, but staff were awesome. Special tonight were delicious and atmosphere is still cozy country inn. So enjoyed our drinks, appetizers and dinner. So lucky to have such a gem nearby.
Amazing! We live in East Greenbush and didn’t realize how close this restaurant was. The food is out of this world good. If you love Italian style dinner this is the spot. Highly recommend it, we loved it.
Always love this place. Have been coming here for years. Food is always great. Pizza oven has been hit or miss as whether they are being served lately due to staffing issues.
The staff and owner are incredibly sweet and welcoming. The food is unbelievably spectacular. It is without a doubt a place I cannot wait to return and dine again. I absolutely loved it, the food is so so good
We had dinner with friends in the bar room. The food was so good! The sauce is excellent, perfect. The Sole was so flavourful as well as the mixed veggies. We can't wait to go back.
My best friend's grandparents were off the boat from Italy between the wars and I was lucky to have been fed by both of his grandmothers. Had a wonderful meal at La Perla that was as good as what I had at their houses decades ago.
The food was really good. Love their bread. Definitely will be back.
Awesome hosts! Anna Marie is welcoming and accommodating The rooms were clean and quint. The restaurant was really amazing with its lay out and authentic Italian food.
The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was very good. Largest jumbo shrimp around and it was prepared and seasoned to perfection. The pizza and calzones from the brick oven looked and smelled wonderful. Use the two menus wisely or you might supersize your bill.
Food was amazing. One of the best meals we've had. Delicious !! Service not so good. Wasn't terrible just the waiter we had wasn't on point. Definitely will return.
My husband and I had dinner here last night for the first time and we loved this local spot! A beautiful, well kept building that still has it’s original charm made for an intimate date night dinner. The maccheroni al ferretto was delicious… the sauce was fantastic! A special thank you to Christian for making our first night out in a while an enjoyable experience. We will be back!
Best Italian food we have had locally. Excellent menu, food and service. A beautiful rustic, cozy decor. We all loved our dishes and will be back. Truly a hidden gem.
So happy to hear that La Perla is now part of Art Letters and Numbers! I have been to ALN as an artist and the sense of community was profound. This new addition is especially exciting as it provides a space for us as artists to connect more with the community beyond ALN! A beautiful space for invigorating conversation and joyfulness all while eating fantastic food
Bring your appetite. Large portions. Top notch food, top notch service. The supreme sauce is outstanding. Stephanie is the best waitress I've ever had. I'm not local, but I'm coming back.
Highly recommend La Perla! The food is SO good!! Truly a gem in Averill Park and worth checking it out! The staff couldn't be nicer and more friendly! Guarantee you will have an amazing experience there!
We had a wonderful meal! eggplant parmigiana, freshly baked bread, wood-fired pizza and tiamesu. We took half home for another yummy meal!
Great find in the country!!! 5 Star quality service and experience. The wait staff is dedicated to your meal experience ensuring you have an enjoyable meal. We are moving to the area and were looking at property when dinner time rolled around. My wife is Gluten Free, so finding restaurants in the country is always a challenge. We called and they were extremely knowledgeable of the allergy and had many options. Needless to say we were not disappointed. The flavors and meal combinations were so delicate to the palette I couldn't wait for the next bite.
Food and wait staff were extremely good and that is the reason to visit for sure. Each meal was prepared perfectly. Our server Joe was great as we had read in other reviews. Be sure to know whether you want the bar menu or full restaurant menu, they won't let you cross over. Both menus have some great items but you are not to mix. That was our one complaint - 6 of us wanted something off the full menu and 1 wanted an item off the bar menu. The staff was very uncomfortable asking in the kitchen to allow chicken parm in the full dining area. The owner has a great place but needs to rethink some menu flexibility.
A gem with some of the best Italian entrees anywhere. We particularly enjoyed the mussels fra diavolo (the best I have ever tasted) and sole francese (delicious, melt in your mouth, with the perfect amount of lemon)!
Great food, friendly staff and owner, romantic atmosphere in a lovely place. We have a great experience at the B&B as well. Joey was a excellent server, the best in the area. The other day we had McKayla who seems to be new but did a great job.
Historic inn with charming decor and a lovely restaurant (I got to enjoy the patio seating), I recommend the pizzas!
Went for dinner on July 14, 2025. Love this place. Food is excellent and we have NEVER had a bad server. This time it was Joe with help from Woody. They were awesome and very attentive. If you’ve never tried La Perla, I recommend you do. You won’t be disappointed.
Hands down the absolute best dinner we've had in a long time. From start to finish not a single complaint. Timely seating, friendly staff, owner is so nice. The homemade bread basket was so delicious, fresh and hot. My fiancee and I order an app to share it was so good. Our meals were both incredible. Dessert, holy cow!!! They have a new regular customer. This place truly takes pride in their food. Blows other local places away.
We have been longtime patrons, starting in the early 1980's when it was the Gregory House, then when it became a wonderful Italian restaurant until it recently closed. It has now re-opened with a new owner, Arts, Letters and Numbers, an arts residency in Averill Park. It is still a great high-end Italian menu plus woodfired pizza. We went on their first night under ALN ownership, sitting I'm one of the dining rooms. (There is also a tavern room.) My wife and I splurged. We shared an order of Maccheroni al Ferretto (which happens to be the most expensive item on the menu) and a small pizza. The Maccheroni was outstanding. The pizza was excellent as well, The two items together were more than we could finish. We're really happy to know this place will be open and that the food is as good as it's ever been. Our servers were great, but they were a little understaffed, which we learned was because it was a soft opening on short notice.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked into La Perla, but I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with twinkling holiday lights and a rustic wood burning oven. And the staff is generous and accommodating. It felt like walking into a high end mountain lodge with an added sensory layer of the most amazing culinary aromas. Chef Nando is truly an artisan melding tastes and ingredients from the Northern Italian regions of his mother’s family and those of his father’s Sicilian heritage. During my stay at the accompanying Inn, The Gregory House, I tried many delicacies from rolled eggplant (the best comfort food) to Pappardelle Alla Romana, a delicious combination of peas, cream, prosciutto and mushrooms. Hands down my favorite was the wood fired pizza, especially the one I chose with arugula, tomatoes and shaved parmesan. I give this masterpiece five finger kisses with an added "Che buono!" Keep in mind the pizza dough and bread are made fresh. I can go on about the perfection of the bread, so I will. Imagine the golden-brown crust, crisp and crackling, slightly rustic with natural flour-dusted patterns, the warm scent of toasted wheat and a faint, nutty sweetness, a balance of earthy simplicity and rich complexity (ask Nando about the “process”). It’s the kind of bread that elevates any meal, an experience of tradition, craftsmanship, and love. I highly recommend breaking bread at La Perla.
5 star menu with delicious flavors! Seafood and lamb were absolutely amazing! Ambience and staff were well worth the wait! Overnight stay was really great too; clean with all the amenities! Would recommend to locals and travelers alike!
Our first time there, it was awesome. Brought my wife there for her birthday, food was outstanding, service was outstanding. Very friendly family owned business. Owner talked with us made us feel like we were at home ! Just another everyday old Italian world family dinner. Most definitely looking forward to a return visit, or should I say coming home for dinner.
The place is family owned and amazing! We are vegetarian and the veg options did justify our expectations. Recommendation: Appetizer- eggplant dish Pizzas are great. Tiramisu was so light and best I ever had so far! Can't wait to visit again!
We came here for the first time to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. Had never been here before but we will definitely be back and recommend this place. A cute, quiet and cozy little space. The food was delicious and the staff was amazing. The owner even came to check on us a few times and they also gave us a complementary bottle of champagne. Thank you la Perla for making our night more amazing.
This restaurant is a piece of history. It's beautiful, high class, and the food is to die for. The staff is amazing and really on point. They have many different options as it is also a hotel with old victorian rooms. The private rooms are well groomed and preserved. With a restaurant of this caliber, you get the same exact quality each and every time. They never disappoint.
We enjoyed their new happy hour menu and it was the perfect amount of food! Cozy atmosphere.
I’m genuinely confused with 4.3 stars because they don’t reflect my experience here in the slightest. This is one of my favorite go-to spots, and I’ve yet to have a bad meal. The chicken masala is outstanding—rich, balanced, and clearly made with care. The wood-fired pizza is consistently excellent with a great crust, and the pasta dishes are always fresh and flavorful. Drinks are well crafted and pair nicely with the food. Service has always been friendly and welcoming. It’s not lightning fast, but it’s attentive and relaxed, which I appreciate. This isn’t fast food—it’s a place where food is actually being prepared properly. They also host live band nights. Personally, I find them a bit loud, but I can see why others enjoy them—the place fills up and has a great energy. It’s nice to see a local spot offering something beyond just dinner. Every restaurant can have an off night, but judging this place by a handful of bad reviews does it a disservice. If you’re looking for quality food, good drinks, and a lively local atmosphere, this place absolutely deserves your visit.
They made the chicken supreme (with mushrooms in a brandy cream sauce) gluten-free on GF angel hair pasta. It was superb and so delicious that my friends asked if they could lick the plate!
We thoroughly enjoyed our two-day stay! Our meal in the bar was absolutely delicious (try the portobello mushroom appetizer; you won't be disappointed), and our room was very comfortable and well-appointed. The staff is friendly and helpful, the building is charming and nicely decorated, and the location is convenient to our local family. We would definitely stay again!
La Pearla Restaurant at The Gregory Inn has been around for 25 years. I haven't been here in a long time and the food and service continues to be excellent. Tonight our party ordered fried calamari and stuffed portobello mushrooms as appetizers. Very good choices. I haven't had fish in awhile so I ordered the filet of sole francese with a side of angel hair pasta. It was an excellent meal and did not disappoint. Dessert was tartufo which is an ice cream ball covered in a chocolate shell. Very delicious. Our waitress was great and we did not have to wait long for our food. They serve warm fresh bread which your meal. La Pearla is also known for their brick oven pizza, which I recommend. Their prices are also reasonable and that is important in this economy. I dont know why I waited so long to return here. This is a place you should not pass by.
I think the food is delicious and I like how they present it as well. If you order delivery they provide a complimentary loaf of delicious bread. It makes me so happy they are on DoorDash 😊
Excellent experience, everything delicious from start with delicious warm bread boule then scrumptious stuffed veal ..no full for desert this time
I don't know how to say this otherwise then just to say, wow. What a find. We first found out about this restaurant. Believe it or not by winning a raffle at the local arts Center. We finally made reservations to come and we were not disappointed. Everything was easy. Making the reservations, parking, getting set up at a table and ordering and receiving our food all went off without a hitch. Every room has its own ambiance, and we can't wait to come back and be seated in all the little nooks and crannies. For this trip we were seated in the main dining area, which is actually also the bar area. I will say we most likely won't want to be seated there again, it got a little loud at the end with people at the bar having conversations from one end of the bar to the other. That may not be the most common occurrence, but it sure wasn't how I wanted to end by meal. Other than that, the ambiance and local flavor was fine and dandy, I really enjoyed our servers, and patrons were absolutely who I would want to see on a regular basis if this were my local dining haunt. We live about 30 minutes away, and I will say that driving home was a little bit of a challenge. I think it would be easier if we came on a summer night before daylight savings times had been reset, because driving home in September was a little bit dark, the roads are very curvy, and everyone seems to have their high beams on and there was quite a lot of traffic on the way home. Lesson learned, we will try to come a little bit earlier in the future. The food was fantastic! My wife had the eggplant parmesan, and she ate every single bite. There was a bowl of angel hair pasta that came on the side, which she didn't even touch and brought home along with this amazing loaf of Italian bread. I had this fantastic salad with crab and sauteed shrimp. It was a large portion, and I enjoyed every bite and almost couldn't finish it. As a side note, on the way home I got a call from the restaurant. I had left my jacket, and they did not waste a minute to let me know. We turned around and came back and they were waiting at the door for me. The people that work here really deliver high quality service and really make you feel at home. We will definitely be back again. Five highly enthusiastic ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our server Wolfgang who is also the bartender was hilarious and very attentive. Things got busy and service was a little slower but the rest of the staff made sure we were good. Pizza was amazing. If you’ve never got pizza with scissors before It’s worth it for just that experience!
We had the most amazing wood fried pizza here! I’m a huge fan of wood fired pizza and I think this was the best ever! Our server, Wolfgang, was phenomenal! It had a cute outside space to eat and we look forward to checking that out! We couldn’t have been more pleased! Highly recommended!
Wonderful dining experience in a historic home.. I was in a group of 9, so we were sat in our own small room. Beautiful decor. Service was promp, attentive. The chef even came to table to work with a vegan in our party to make a menu item work for them. Every dish brought to our table is one I would try. Simply done but not trite as Italian dishes often are
The staff here made our anniversary very special and worth dining out. The atmosphere is unmatched anywhere else in town. Very quaint and romantic. The food is also absolutely delicious and will not disappoint. We look forward to coming back for another romantic evening soon.
Went last night for Valentines Day dinner, and absolutely loved it! The place was jammed, as to be expected, but the service was still great, fast, attentive, and very friendly, you could see everyone pitching in and working hard. The food was absolutely delicious with huge portions, and a large menu with many options. Also a nice selection of specialty drinks for the occasion, and an absolutely beautiful setting. Highly recommended for any occasion, or none at all, I can’t wait to go back again!
3rd visit and again a very pleasant meal. They take COVID precautions very seriously and that's a good thing. Service very competent, atmosphere is rustic and very relaxing. Could be one of our "go to" places but kind of far from our home. We go because it's our friends' "go to" place.
The night we were there, they were down a waiter so service was slow. Food was good, no beer on tap. Pasta was very good.
I enjoyed my stay and I felt safe.
Food was good. Service a little less attentive than I expected considering the times. No one wore masks inside, concerning as we have children. Seemed like one small bathroom for such a large place. Specials were good. Something for everyone on the menu in the Italian way.
My husband loved his meal. Mine was good as well. Appetizer was high at $22 for 3 coconut shrimp. Place was quint, but a bit pricey. Food was good. Would recommend
Good variety of cocktails, good pizza and pasta dishes, just a little pricy. Our server Wolfgang was knowledgeable and attentive.
First time visit to La Perla in Averill Park, NY Thursday 8/17/23 6:30pm reservation. We came because of the music by The Next Chapter, Alan Saunders & Mike Derrico formerly of the Good for the Soul band that played at our wedding in 2006. They were set up in an nice courtyard at the rear of the restaurant, but an hour later had to move inside due to the rain. Very prompt service by the staff. We ordered drinks and looked over the menu. We settled on two appetizers: eggplant rollatini ($20) and the clams casino ($22). Note: clams are offered in 6 different styles. Italian style entrees from $18-33, more for specialty fish entrees i.e. zuppa de pesce $51. This is a fine dining restaurant offering well prepared and a variety of dinners. Bill was $100. for two meals & four alcoholic beverages. We ended our evening at the unique bar & dining area where we could still see & hear the band. This place also offers overnight accommodations & is an event venue. A very good first visit here. Restaurant Hours of Operation: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 4PM - 9PM Friday & Saturday 4PM - 10PM Sunday 3pm-9pm Restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. Reservations are recommended. Thank you to all the staff at La Perla. Nick & Liz, Albany, NY
The wait staff and food was very good. I feel they need to , however, work on their bar offerings. The wine selection, by the glass, was very limited and if I order a top shelf vodka, I would really like it to be mixed with a decent orange juice such as Tropicana, not an orange juice that taste like Tang.
Food was excellent but on the pricey side and it was my 1st time there. Service was great at 1st. Our waiter Joe was very friendly and helpful all through our appetizers and meal. Then after that he disappeared and had two other people attend to us. Which took a while. Eventually Joe came back to us to give us our bill.
Food was amazing. The front room looked nice but the main dining area in the back was decorated like someone was flipping a house. Blue paint on the fireplace and wooden doors...disappointing. they could have had a lot more charm with the old house its in.
I didn't see the review so I will try again .... The food was good the drinks were fine .. but they were so understaffed it was ridiculous which may or may not be their fault. It is tough to find help now but the owners were there and made no effort to make drinks or deliver food to the tables 0!! I have been in retail my whole life and to this day I help my employees when they need it because it is good for the employees and the customers.
Had 545 reservations, table wasnt ready. Took 5 minutes to get drink at table, ordered our food, took almost hour for food to arrive. Waiter never came over once to ask if we needed drinks refilled. Food was ok. A little on pricey side for service we received
I loved my meal, crab pasta. The portion was massive and had it for two meals. My husband didn't like the meat pasta. For an upscale restaurant they really need to start paying attention to the details. Our table was really wobbly and annoying. The wall next to the table really really needs to be cleaned. There is no need to let it get caked with food splatter like that. The women's bathroom is falling apart and should be considered an embarrassment. Details should matter. Spend some time and money to fix this place up, it's already gone to far.
Been here a couple of times. Although the main dishes are pretty good (gnocchi and chicken parm), appetizers are inconsistent and seem overpriced. It's a nice, rustic setting, but cheaper options exist in Albany and environs that provide the same quality of food.
A disappointing father’s day dinner for 4, new server had no idea about anything. Got me a zero beer when I ordered a real beer, didn’t know the menu, ordered my wife the wrong meal then replaced it in a to go container. My veal parm was paper thin floating in sauce, spaghetti came out on second tray with bread. had to ask for bread, s&p. Not the restaurant it once was, our last visit!
Had eggplant appetizer which was great but a lot for two people. I had stuffed veal parm. Was chewy and overall kind of meh but not awful. Had a great negroni from the bar and overall was a decent meal, but nothing special.
This restaurant has everything except great service. The owner is unfriendly as were the previous owners. The chill is still in the air there. We won’t be returning despite the beautiful atmosphere. We love the wood fire pizza, but for the restaurant to be nearly empty and have the owner walk right past us as the only people sitting near the fireplace and not even make eye contact is too weird. He, like the previous owners, don’t have the hospitality vibe that makes people feel welcome. There are too many restaurants that have it all to waste money dining in an unfriendly place.
Service slow, orders inaccurate, customer service poor. Short staffed in DR and kitchen. There 3 hours. Had reservations. Charge $8 for shared plate. Meals were good quality once we finally got them. No sense of customer satisfaction or hospitality though. This place has been good in past but now struggling. Offering less service is not going to help. Drinks are very high priced also. Really shakey crew tonight.
Got food to go. Everything tasted good but $20 for 3 bacon wrapped shrimp. No thanks.
We made reservations for a Saturday evening to celebrate our 53rd Anniversary. We were put at a table at the bar. It was too noisy to talk, then a band set up. There seemed to be one waitress. The hostess came after a wait and took our drink order because the waitress was too busy. Waited and she finally came to take our order. I had a side of spaghetti, maybe 1/3 cup, I was disappointed till tasted. The sauce was too sweet. The rest of food was mediocre. Was going to get dessert and a glass of presecco but she did not come back. When she finally did we were just ready to leave.
I have been wanting to try this restaurant for years…and I could not have been more disappointed. I had the specialty “pistachio and mortadella” pizza. Big mistake. I’m all for experimenting…but this was just a miss. My two companions had rigatoni dishes that were just as disappointing. Companion one had rigatoni with broccoli…frozen broccoli. Who does this? For $18? Companion two had rigatoni with bacon (bits) for $28. $28 for pasta and bacon bits?!? The whole experience was really underwhelming. It’s really unfortunate as there are limited options in this neck of the woods…not worth the gas.
Unfortunately the last and final experience at la perla was less than satisfactory and after having a terrible meal i have found out that the restaurant is for sale by owner. Maybe it is time to move on Alfonso and Ann Marie this experience was very disappointing to say the least. Best wishes in future endeavors, the restaurant business should not be your priority. And the wait staff at the bar was less than par. Sorry but your efforts are less than diligent to the paying customer.
We've been here a few times, food has always been good. However, the wait from time of reservation until you get your food is about an hour and a half, and everything is very expensive. We went last night and after our food came out (1h 45m later) my husband had the wrong entree, as the server took his order wrong. The waitress said if he wanted what he ordered it'd take another hour, which wr were not willing to wait, and when the owner came over to our table to check on things she didn't seem sorry or concerned at all. I thought maybe she'd take his meal off the bill or at least some kind of discount but nope. Paid $38 for a plate he didn't ask for or didn't want.
The main positive at La Perla is the atmosphere and the staff are friendly. We’ve gone here every Christmas Eve for quite a few years and it has steadily been declining. This past year was definitely our last try and it’s a bummer because they do have the perfect atmosphere for a Christmas dinner. The negatives - our primary issue was the long wait for our food. It took an hour and a half to get our food after we ordered, which is insane. I know it’s a holiday and they were very busy, but pretty much everyone had reservations long before so they knew it was going to be packed. We did like the waitstaff, when we saw them. We went long periods of over 20 minutes before we had anybody come in and see how things were. I don’t work there so I’m not sure why we didn’t see them often but they seemed to be running around the halls frantically, which is surprising since there isn’t a lot of tables in the restaurant. We did have kids with us and although we got there early, their parents had to leave right after eating since it was getting so late. The final part is the not so good food. They’ve never really been great, but we’ve noticed a decline here. A few things were forgotten and some orders were just cooked differently then requested. An app that we had wasn’t the right order and the waitstaff defended it, only to find out from the chef that they sent the wrong food. Definitely not worth your time (you need a lot of it to eat here) and money.
Used to be my favorite place to take my wife for quiet upscale meal. Service was slow forgot to bring butter to go with the bread could not get a second drink and my fish laugh tasted very fishy.
It is a shame. My family has been going to La Perla for years. It was one of our favorite places to go because the Husband and Wife that owned it were amazing. They stopped at your table to say hello and they always remembered you. We returned 2 weeks ago and were dismayed to understand they were no longer there but still had family running it. I am sad to say that our meal was less than thrilling. We started with being told we had to be done eating by 7pm. The menu was smaller but understandable because of how much Covid hurt local businesses. The Fra diavlo sauce was not spicy at all. My daughter ordered a shrimp dish, I had veal and peppers. When the entrees came out I got smacked in the face by the smell of bad fish, it was the shrimp. The veal and peppers was covered in grease. The veal pieces were so overcooked that it need all the extra grease. I have been reccomending LA Perla to everyone I have met for years. I have since stopped that practice and can not return again for a meal. Dinner cost over $300 with no alcohol and made 2 of us sick after eating there.
Well.. the building is nice from what I got to see because they put us in a back corner in a room where nobody else was. When we first got there the woman who owns and runs the restaurant was acting as if all her patrons were an annoyance to her. She wasn't friendly at all. The waiter was disorganized. He never told us about the specials and honestly for two people having dinner the food was not worth the bill that came to be over $100. I had the chicken piccata and it was subpar to say the least.
We went here with 6 people, waiter was ok in the beginning. Food was good and generous portions. When the bill came I took it to pay for the entire table which was quite a tab. I provided my credit card, and I provided a generous tip and I kept my copy. When my credit card bill came in motives a $20 difference in the total. I called the restaurant and told them what had happened, they checked their copy of the check and stated the tip was $20 more than my copy. They emailed me a copy and it was very plain to see that the waiter changed the amount. The restaurant agreed to send me a check for the $20, but that was 2 weeks ago and still mo check.
I really wanted to love this place but it's a 2 star and I feel that's being gracious. Waited over an hour for our meal that I could have made better myself. The atmosphere is quaint. And Joe was a pleasure. If it weren't for him this would have been a 1 star review. By no means the best Italian food in the area.
Total disappointment! The food was cold upon arrival to the table. The appearance of the plate was disgusting. Three of the four dinners ordered were stuffed veal, the plate was overflowing with a tomato paste substance. The pasta was drowning in paste. Quite literally tasted like something that came out of a can. Service was very poor. I can’t compare this experience with any other as I can’t remember a time where I felt so compelled to warn people about wasting time and money.
We came here for Valentine's Day dinner. We had a reservation for 8pm and we were not seated until 9:10pm. We then ordered and still didn't have dinner or even had a check in by a waiter as of 10:15. Apologies were never even offered until we asked for our food to go because we had waited so long. We were told we should be "understanding" due to the holiday. I really thought we were patient for two hours... it honestly ruined our night.
We’ve been here about three times in the past year. I ask myself why. We do not live in the area but my relatives do. Each time was disappointing. Very slow service and multiple mistakes on the bill. The food is nothing to write home about. Being from an Italian family, I was especially disappointed in the sauce and meatballs. We’ve given it enough chances and will not be going back.
I never want to eat at this place. I am sorry but I do not recommended my daughter order a pizza was very grease my husband order the racks of lamb and taste bad and I have fretuchini whit shrimp OMG two shrimps for $24.00 and we give ours opinions and came this lady. I think that she is the owner she was very rude she star talking loud saying that food was import and is a lot of pasta and never a customer complain about the food really we pay $138.00 for a food that you don't like and you have to hear her mouth loud saying her opinion. I am the customer and then she was son ignorant that se went to the next table and say loud way do you left your food you don't like it you know what? I liked your spoon really you have to go so far and do not take what you Customer are telling you and you going to act like that. The customers are the one that give you whit what to eat. I want to share the bad experience that we have sorry but is NOT a good place.
The food here is very good, and the atmosphere is cute. Unfortunately it's also paired with absolutely horrible wait times. Waited nearly 2 hours for our food. Skip this place unless you have lots of time.
Second and last time giving this place a try. Was served a steak (which was not a filet) that was over cooked and visibily charred and burnt (smelled that way too!) with overcooked vegetables and some random lettuce, no starch. Took a couple bites and gave up on it... leaving 3/4 of the dinner on the plate. When the server came to take my plate, I simply said I didn’t want it wrapped, it wasn’t very good. The server then proceeded to get extremely defensive and make a scene. After repeatedly stating I wasn’t making a big deal about it, was told I was giving an attitude, that I’d eaten my whole plate (nope, definitely did not!) and then given a lecture about how they cook their steak. The server continued to be snarky until we left. $5 was taken off our bill. Overpriced, subpar food and service. Never again.
The worse meal I have ever paid $120 for! 3 shrimp for $20 as a special (they were over cooked) French onion soup was missing everything! $36 plate of bass not even 1/2 inch thick😡 I got a steak off the light fair for $20 nope bad bad!
Delicious food but difficult to enjoy after waiting for over 90 minutes with slow, and even snarky, service. Our two daughters were starving and exhausted, and we asked for the check as soon as our meals finally arrived. My husband's slice of birthday cake--a kind, appreciate gesture when I made the reservation--was forgotten. Horrible experience, never returning.
We went for a family dinner at 6:30 and had been to the restaurant previously in the past. It was extremely noisy in the pub/bar area between the loud screaming Luciano Pavarotti music and other patrons shouting conversations over their meals. It took over three hours for the meal - our waiter was a young kid that needed to be trained properly - He checked on our table maybe twice and kept disappearing for long periods of time. It took forever for the meal to come. The house salad was good but arrived about 30 minutes after we ordered it, along with our drinks. Our meals finally appeared before 9 pm. My pasta dish was dripping in olive oil and so greasy that it was not edible. Unless you are a regular patron of the place you get crummy service and treatment - owner not polite at all. Prices were outrageous, dust everywhere (literally you could see it on shelves near glasses and plates/ scary! It honestly was a huge disappointment - this place has really gone downhill….
Very disappointing. Had reservations, we were sat 20 minutes late. It was busy so we let that slide. We ordered the clams Oregano. They ended up being sandy and the breadcrumbs tasted burnt. When the server brought our salads we asked for drink refills.. 25 minutes later he still hadn't come back to the table and even our water glasses were empty. Our reservations were for 7:30, it was now 9:00 and we were losing our patience. After another 10 minutes, we decided that we didn't want to wait any more.. my husband tracked down our server and asked for our check. After a couple of minutes he brought it over and said "I hope your night gets better" we paid our $52 and left. Needless to say, we won't go back.
Arrived for 6:30 reservation. Stood at counter for 11 minutes before anyone attended to us. Lighting poor. Room was chilly. Fireplace was not lit - it was 27 degrees outside. Sat at table for 15 minutes before anyone came over. Ordered drinks and it was 25 minutes before anyone came to table re order. No one ever refilled water glass nor asked if we wanted another drink. Service was TERRIBLY slow. Food was excellent but VERY overpriced given service. A major disappointment.
The crab meat in my Portobello Mediterranean smelled and tasted very strongly of fish. I usually don’t ask for a refund, but $26 was too much to pay for something I couldn’t finish. I was refunded. The entire experience was positively only worth one star. The wood fired pizza was burnt on the crust and undercooked in the middle, as if the pizza oven wasn’t fully heated up. The cheese was not fully melted, and when you tried to pick up a slice of the dinner plate sized pizza, it was floppy and the toppings slid off into the box. The coconut shrimp was decent, but $22 is asking a lot for 3 “jumbo as big as you can buy” shrimp. I’m elated the owner replied and I was able to elaborate on this matter.
So…about our dinner. My wife ordered Chicken Sorrentino (chicken cutlet layered with eggplant and prosciutto) they forgot the EGGPLANT. I’m not sure how that happens. I ordered Linguini alla Pescatora (linguini with shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari in red sauce) they forgot the CLAMS and the dish came with ONLY of (1) shrimp and (2) mussels. VERY DISAPPOINTED to say the least. In fact, I will never return again!
What started out as an end-of-work-week date night for my wife and I turned into absolute frustration due to dining here. We were seated and took a while for someone to come over to take our drink order. All we ordered was a Diet Coke and lemonade. That took 10 minutes. We ordered an appetizer of bruschetta- that took 35 minutes. Since we were also trying to get to a show on time we had to ask for boxes for our entrees to go. We thought that leaving over an hour for dinner would be sufficient to eat and get to the show on time but the wait time for everything was maddening. I also caught up with a friend who unbeknownst to me was dining at the restaurant at the same time and had the same experience. It’s really a shame because from what I tasted, the food was delicious but the first thing I said to my wife when we got in the car was, “I’ll never go back there.”
