The food was excellent, the service was great. It would be nice if they gave us a breakdown of what we ate, so we could understand what we paid. Something like a cashier's receipt.

Yes, I gave a 2 ⭐ for service. To be fair, there's notices on the front door explaining how understaffed they are and to please be patient and polite. Understanding the situation , we didn't mind the extra wait and staff's inability to be more "available" to our needs. Our meals were very good. Thank you all for working so hard to provide delicious food.

Classic hometown restaurant in Horseheads. Their vibe is very nostalgic in there. Eggs Benedict was awesome. Normally older restaurants like this have uncomfy booths, but these were very comfy! (And I’m picky!) Everyone was very friendly. Would come back again! Plenty of parking, they take card or cash, but prefer cash.

Delicious food! Service was very good. Not sure what other reviewers were concerned about. The picture of the food doesn't do it justice. The toast was homemade and good. I did notice that the home fries weren't really good which is why I gave 4 stars.

The food was nothing to write home about. The servers were more concerned with their conversations than connecting with the customers that just entered and the one woman that was working very hard was unable to get to us because she was picking up the slack of the others. The decor was pretty neat to look at during our extended wait time.

First timer, I ordered the veggie omelet and it had eggshells in it and was undercooked. My husband got the western and loved it. It was a busy Saturday morning. The waitresses were great though!

Service: Ive looked at the reviews for this place online, and unfortunately i have to say i was Severely disappointed Not only was the food bad but the owner got into it with my mother over asking for a clean fork that had not been sitting on the table. its a fork how hard is it to grab a clean fork seriously? i then proceeded to have to hear my mom complain about the owners response to her being (theirs a fork right their honey and napkins to which had been sitting out on the table for who knows how long) you know some people are self conscious about that kind of thing and my mother is no idiot so talking down to her as if she had not seen the forks and napkins you had sitting on the table. your kidding me right? My mom is self conscious about hygiene so whys it such a hassle to be given a clean fork from the back then? I proceeded to then have to hear my mom complain for a half hour while we ate about how rude the owner was to her. Food: The food, i have ate at a whole lot of places in my life time but this food was just wrong the home fries felt under-cooked the omelette you know you pay 15 dollars for an omelette you expect a decent omelette the omelette was a small dinky thing that looked like a rectangle and to top it off low quality cheese was used and the ingredients inside were not cooked enough sure the ham was but i could tell even that was low quality ham you could probably microwave. The only thing decent i ate was the bacon. Final Comments: I sincerely regret coming to eat here what should of been a good afternoon was ruined by poor management, and a terrible breakfast. maybe this used to be the spot but from research i have already done on the place you may be short staffed but it gives no room for the following. I grew up going to Sugar & Spice and always make a point to make a stop when I come home for a visit. I think my most recent trip will be my last. I ordered a veggie scramble and coffee. Based on the menu, the scramble was $12-13 and the coffee was $2.75. I was expecting to pay ~$15 for breakfast. When the bill came the scramble was $15. When all was said and done, breakfast came to $23. I know the economy isn’t great and times are tough, but when you post one price in the menu and charge a higher price on the bill you lose the customer’s trust. After this last visit I felt really taken advantage of. I sadly don’t think I’ll be back. Edit: I did not order any upgrades or surplus items. I ordered exactly what was on the menu. I understand prices have gone up which is fine. But if a veggie scramble is $15 then it should be on the menu as $15. If I had known it would be a $23 breakfast I would have ordered something different.
